The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly

The hotel has a good location and nice, immaculate rooms.

Room was clean and sufficient for our needs - good shower room with towels changed daily, double bed, fridge, drawers and hanging space.

The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with tiled floors and pretty, neutral decor.

I thought smoking rooms disappeared in the 50's anyway?

I asked for a non smoking room and was given a room 107 on first floor.

even though it reeked of smoke and had a smoking allowed sign.

My understanding is that the hotel is non-smoking throughout, so I do not understand earlier reviewer marshall01's comments (unless prior guests had flauted the rules).

The worst thing was going to bed under a top cover strongly smelling of smoke. Awful.

It’s clean and comfortable and the only downside was that the windows opened onto a well in the building so there was no view of anything

The windows did not lock and the noise created by the other guests general movement was a distraction.

On arrival all windows, curtains and shutters were closed and room has strong smell of smoke.

At this time (end of May) a lot of places seemed to be closed both here and the close by villages.

Just back from a short stay in Los Telares in Hermagua.Though reception was closed on our arrival, we found our room easily.We checked in the following day,Liz at reception is very helpful.The apartments are basic

We got two emails, explaining how to get to the hotel and explaining how to get to our room in case the reception was closed.

Arriving at 3 pm the reception was closed, with a list of names and room numbers stuck in the window.

Good facilities in our rooms which was clean and comfortable, good WIFI  We had breakfast each day which which was delivered to our door.The lady on reception (Elizabeth) was very helpful and helped us on our whale watching trip booking.

Room was clean and included all kitchen items what you can hope!

Unfortunately the hotel does not offer dinner.

The village has nothing to offer and closes down after dark (at least in March) with only 3 proper restaurants open resulting in lines forming outside after 7.00 p.m.

The hotel is within an old beautiful building yet the rooms are clean and the bathrooms are modern.

Breakfast room very dark and food adequate .

Breakfast room is locked and not opened until after 8am.

The breakfast room is not unlocked until 8.30am and closed during the day so it is impossible to relax anywhere other than your room or collect emails etc.

We were locked out of he breakfast room (which houses the wifi) until 8am on the dot every morning - despite him being in the room

but it’s charming and not sure what people expect- : our rooms at the top (9 and 10) required a couple of flights of stairs but were quite large and had nice dark wood floor, doors and windows and the shutters and doors opened out onto small balconies with views up the valley.

The only shortcomings, which make this a 4-star rather than a 5-star review, were: (i) that the main window shutters did not open, so the room  was dark and we had no view; and (ii) the hot water took forever to get through to the tap or shower, meaning that many litres had to be run through the system before showering, which makes a rather big dent in the Hotel's commendable commitment to environmental responsibility.

It was not heated, and in February, the water was freezing.

Our apartment had neither heating or aircon and our unsuccessful attempts to obtain a heater revealed the fact that the apartments are managed from Tenerife and that escalating  a problem to a manager is not an option.

While the apartments have air conditioning this was not available in March.

When the toaster blew the trip switch they replaced it with a brand new one straight away.

On the last night we had noisy neighbours arrive and their cigarette smoke blew into our apartment so we had to close the doors.

I had to ask for a hairdryer at the reception,

The failure to provide a hair dryer (company policy as highlighted over a full page in the room rules book) presented another apparently unresolvable problem.

Herself was annoyed with a laminated notice telling us that the establishment did not have a hairdryer !! 'Really?'

This hotel is in an excellent position on the seafront.The interior and the rooms are immaculate and rooms at the front have sunny balconies with a sea-view.

I also have to mention the staff, they were all so friendly and cheerful, the rooms were spotless and (I am really sorry

The rooms are clean, the beds and pillows are really comfy and a nice surprise to find a kettle, microwave, fridge and hob which i didnt expect.

however improvement works are on-going on the avenue in 2018, resulting in lot of noise, preventing enjoying the ocean vue of ocean side apartments.

NIGGLES : abundance of ' DO NOT' notices which was over done.

However, we were too late to book the South facing rooms which overlook the bay outside, as we visited at short notice.

The service was good and the hotel and room clean.

However, Room 402 opens onto the terrace, so you have to keep the window closed.

Decor was cold, no curtains or paintings.

Breakfast was disappointing with no fruit, very little choice, poor presentation, no ambiance and very old school music.

Breakfast was more than sufficient and nicely laid out with fruits, cereals, cheese, meat and sweets, juice and coffee/teas as you like; all served in the breakfast room/restaurant/bar area.

Very quite on Sundays only one restaurant open and a couple bars,otherwise all good rooms are clean,continental breakfast was good.

The rooms are clean and the village is adorable and very quiet.

The only thing I could wish for would be a possibility to cook water for tea or coffee in the small lounge and some darker bread for breakfast.

Very strange since we had reserved that exact room,

The room was clean, spacious and ensuite.

They have not opened the reception because they havent, so i have to WAIT IN THE STREET and when i decided to write a formal form to say how unconfortable and disagree i am, they answer with "we have not this papers" OF COURSE I CALLED THE LOCAL POLICE, and POLICE make the rest :)

When we got there at 12.30 we were told in an unfriendly manner that "of course the room was not ready yet" and she kept saying "later" without giving us a specific hour.

I'm not a fan of white (seemingly stale) bread and bananas so I was pretty much stuffed as to what I could eat.

Even with the plug-in radiator on full we were still cold.

In our room there was an oil radiator which we put on and that warmed the room a little.

But the rooms have heaters and someone even lit a wood fire downstairs in the lounge area of the hotel, so we could have a warm sit down after supper.

As another reviewer said, the bedrooms were quite cold,

The floors are very cold  and the ceiling is high do it takes time to heat.

It is over 1000 metres and it gets cold at night, or even in the daytime if the sun isn't shining- wearing fleeces indoors seems to be the norm.

The room was clean and fit for purpose with a terrace overlooking Fortaleza and views of nearby island El Hierro.

There is an air-vent on the exterior wall that allows the cold wind to blow directly into the living room.

And yes, the temperature in La Gomera can be very cold.

Rooms are clean and quite spatious, anyway I know a lot of nicer places in La Gomera.

but one cannot stream using it so no UK TV on Ipad etc.

but they would be so much nicer if the owners spent about a thousand euros replacing the thin worn bedding, cheap plastic furniture and terrible art on the walls.

It can get windy, most outside establishments have a plastic marquee and WiFi is freely available for patrons.

No microwave, no egg cups, no English TV channels, no in house wi-fi unless you sit in reception ?

The downside is you have to go down to the reception to get wifi connection.

There were supposed to be a wifi in the public areas.

Typically WiFi was only available in the lobby area

The only drawback is the lack of wifi in the apartment.
