We were assigned a “River View One Bedroom Suite.” The living room had plenty of space for relaxing, with a sofa, desk, mini fridge, and flatscreen television; the bedroom in the corner of the building had a second flatscreen television, a chair, and a comfortable bed with a bench at the foot.

The room's amenities included a giant comfy king bed, two televisions (one in the sitting room and one in the bedroom) and deep seated hot tub, and an AMAZING view.

At check-in, I was automatically upgraded to a corner suite, which consists of a living room (office desk/chair, sofabed, and TV), bedroom (TV, chaise), and bathroom with hottub and separate shower.

Plus the Hotel is wonderfully located and a pleasure to stay in.

Other than the great view, and a good location, this is not even close to a four-star hotel.

We booked a river view room and loved it, the window seat is so comfortable and it was great looking out of the river each day.

We come every year around Christmas time, and Antonio, one of the doormen, makes us feel especially welcome.

Antonio Santizo, Doorman Extraordinaire is a huge reason we've been coming to the Monaco for so many years.

I especially enjoyed having our dog along and the great assist from the doorman!

The staff, particularly the valets, were incredibly friendly and helpful.

He is a jack of all trades here, helping with bags, the door, directions, recommendations and was genuinely the nicest and most helpful person.

Antonio Santizo, the doorman, was especially great.

First- the doormen were all absolutely amazing!

The front desk people were efficient and had great welcoming personalities.

We’d especially like to shout out the doorman, Antonio Santizo, who was so friendly and helpful during our stay.

By this time we even know the valet guys (who are great by the way).

The incredible hospitality begins when we see our favorite doorman, Antonio, who greets us with a smile and hugs.

I currently work in hospitality, at a hotel in river north and have been in the industry for over 20 years, and we always live by the 10/5 rule.. other than that, my stay was great and I'd totally come back again.

I was blown away by his charm and awesome Hospitality.

I cannot say enough about the fact that this hotel truly brings back "hospitality" to the hospitality business!

From the beginning to end, this hotel experience was rejuvenating me.

Thanks to his hospitality we will book this hotel again on our next visit to Chicago.

Trinity at the front desk made our check-in experience very pleasant; she was so friendly!

This stay was unlike any stay at any hotel my family has ever experienced.

There was A LOT going on upon our check in on 12/02/23 (check outs and arrivals),  yet Angel Garcia made us feel like we were the only ones in the lobby.

From the moment we check in to the end of our stay, we enjoy the best service and accommodations.

We used the steam/sauna for 30 minutes before checking out and the spa was a nice facility.

From the minute I checked in I was (as always) so impressed with the welcome, the rooms, the spa and fitness center and the amazing staff in each. I had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant (unlimited bubbles - great idea not just for weekend brunch!!)

Before we arrived, the concierge was amazing they had already booked my wife and I for dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant - overall 5 stars!

The room was incredible, the check in experience was pleasant and professional.

Also, the night we checked in there was a Xmas welcome party of the tree lighting with wine and treats - what an amazing surprise!

From the moment I arrived at the Waldorf Astoria in Chicago I felt absolutely warmly welcomed.

Amazing amenities all around - from the time of check in to check out the service was 10/10.

Prior to my arrival I got an email about my stay.

We arrived early, due to our flight schedule, and they were able to give us an immediate check in.

When we checked in, we were offered an upgrade to a suite for nominal fee,

I must also give a special mention to the team this time around who went above and beyond after we had checked out and realised we had left behind an item of great sentimental value in the room.

A few days before my arrival, I was pleasantly surprised that the Waldorf concierge emailed me if there was anything they could assist me with for my arrival or stay.

We really enjoyed this hotel from arrival until we leave.

There was also a lovely plate of macarons on arrival as a birthday greeting.

When we checked in, we were met with such friendly staff--we felt so welcome.

By the time it was our turn to check in, the rep was very nice and did her what she could to accommodate us. She wanted to upgrade our room

They even precisely timed when to deliver champagne to our room as to ensure that it was the perfect temp when we arrived.

Was a nice touch to make sure they had a chance to plan ahead for our arrival.

A spectacular entrance with a circular brick-paved drive-about complete with a flower-surrounded fountain was the greeting I got from the Gold Coast, chateau-like Waldorf Astoria, Chicago.

We frequently stay at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago and LOVE IT!

I've been having consistently better night's sleep on the road than at home, and the mattress at WA Chicago was the best of the bunch.

The location is in middle of Gold Coast with easy, beautiful walks to anything you could want in Chicago.

I brought my wife out to Chicago for an amazing experience for her 45th birthday and come back shocked at how such a reputable establishment treated us with such distain.

This will be our default Chicago hotel going forward.

My 15 year old son had a great 1st trip to Chicago.

WA Chicago helped us upgrade the room into corner suite which is very generous.

Our trip to Chicago Waldorf Astoria was memorable, I am a Gold member, they upgraded my room to a suite.

Unpanned trip to Chicago turned into a great stay that I will remember for some time to come.

The location is perfect, in the heart of Chicago.

The spa area with steam/sauna/hot tub is great.

She said the women’s room was wonderful, with a sauna, hot tub, rain showers, and everything else a lady could need to clean up for the day.

The spa and gym facilities were great with a nice lap pool, a compact gym with all of the equipment you would need and a wonderful locker room setup with hot tub, steam room, sauna and spacious lounge.

We all had amazing treatments and enjoyed the facilities including the sauna and hot tub.

Everyone from the bellman to the front desk was warm and very service-oriented.The room rate includes complimentary access to the hot tub, pool, sauna and steam room, which added a lot of value. I also received a massage from Kasey (sp?)

The exercise, pool, hot tub, relaxation room, and other services/amenities provided are truly worth it.

We enjoyed the hot tub in the spa and the terrace patio after.

The pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and relaxation room were all amazing and top notch!

I cannot say enough about the spa level--the staff was so kind and welcoming and showed me around the hot tub, steam room, sauna, and the locker room.

The Pool/Hot tub/ Steam room/ Sauna and locker rooms are as good as you can find!

The spa is particularly nice (oodles of big fluffy towels, flavored waters, icy cloths, high end products in the shower area)  - great lap pool and fabulous separate hot tubs in the locker rooms.

The hot tub was beautiful, private and large,

but briefly what I love about that in especial is the steam and hot tub arrangement--really it is the best organized layout and ambiance that any of the 5 stars have.

but when advised to call Manager (who was not present at the time) I asked for her to speak to her and have her call or email me.

Then after I checked out I found an extra, unauthorized restaurant charge and it took 3 phone calls to resolve, one of which was quite unpleasant.

but didn’t replenish the hair products and shower gel on each day, eventually we needed to make a call to the front desk to have those items replenished.

I called the GM and left a voicemail to them know the issues I had.

but were told to wait for a phone call, which never came. 2.

The popcorn and candy did make its way up, just not sure it was worth all the calls and waiting time.

The phone in the room didn't work so when I needed to call the front desk, I had to use my mobile phone to look up the number and call.

After an hour and a half, including a phone call (attempted to the front desk,

Upon checking in tired from our trip, the room phone was not working and we had to go downstairs a couple of times since they didn't pay attention to our request for extra blankets.

And a potentially stressful strike against the WA was that phones that use AT&T towers have no cell service anywhere in the building.

There were electrical outlets on the desk and wardrobe area, and USB charging ports on the bedside clock. We did have to call and request a second bathrobe (not sure why hotels only provide one, when the room is booked for two?)

The person who answered the phone argued with me that they hadn't charged my credit card.

We waited for 30 minutes and no call ever came.

The barista at the cafe always wore her mask below the nose- unfortunately that was our only breakfast option as we had signed up for the breakfast package and dine in phone calls didn’t get answered.

The front desk doesn’t answer the phone so I had to use my cell phone to call from an outside line to get in touch.

No emails were sent to me and I did not ever receive a phone call that the matter was looked into.

Anytime we would attempt to contact reception, we would face long hold times and rude responses on the phone.

The cleaning was terrible, no water in the room, I had to call for the coffee capsules.

I loved my signature cut Pork Chop and I couldn't resist the Banana popsicle to quench my sweet tooth.

Concierge reaching out before our stay and coordinating the spa and dinner was very convenient.

We had a delicious breakfast at Brass Tack and fun cocktails at Bernard’s for happy hour.

Doormen, front desk, concierge, restaurant staff - you name it, they were all top notch.

Food quality is solid and did I mention the amazing service.

Wonderful bar and restaurant, and the fitness and spa service are a great experience.

The hotel is in a safe and walkable location with great restaurants and shopping just downstairs.

Once the courtyard reopens, the hotel will be a great place for outdoor lunch, tea or drinks before dinner
