Lobby restaurant was good and breakfast was extensive.

The lobby and bar/lounge area are quite impressive and the buffet /dining room is located just off the lounge.

Breakfasts on both mornings were very enjoyable experiences.

I paid a huge single supplement for the trip and did not expect to get a single bed with filthy carpet.

although they try their best to keep it new, you can start to see here and there signs that it passed its glory days, no double windows, stains in the bathroom, old carpet, etc; one bad thing is that the rooms (I changed two) smell of SMOKE.

The rooms were in desperate need of updating - the carpets were stained and worn, the towel rail fell off in the bathroom when I barely touched it, bed was hard and uncomfortable.

Carpets need a good clean. Bathroom needs a good clean, shower head improved and towels that actually soak up the water (hand towels more effective!)

Apart from a few marks on the carpet, there were no problems.

The hotel itself is very old and has dirty carpets and furniture.

The rooms are very small, the furniture, decor, carpet is dated and stained!

We changed rooms as the yellow coloured carpets were  dirty and so grubby they looked terrible.

The lobby is large and attractive with a very pleasant bar.

This Soccer Fever was evident in this lovely Lobby Lounge bar with comfortable tables and chairs to sit and sip and just relax.

The main lobby is decorated so cute with stuffed pandas and the bar area looks tropical.

Facilities very good, even a store selling wine in the foyer.

It has nice interiors in the rooms and the lobby as well.

As already mentioned, the foyer is very impressive and check in was quick and efficient.

There is a great shopping Mall not far within walking distance that has nice food

The hotel is well located, near public transportation and shopping malls.

There are shopping malls and a few restaurants nearby, while the Taisheng South Road subway station (Line 4) is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Hotel is nearby to all amenities, including 7 Eleven just across the road and shopping mall 20 minutes walk away.

but there is still a smell of cigarettes everywhere (even in the hall and elevators).

And yes smoking was not allowed in the entire hotel.

but small, it was a bit musty inside the room but the bathroom and the rest of the hotel was lovely.

but did smell a lilt smoky (air fresheners sorted that out) the room was quite warm, even with the air conditioning on, we did ask for another fan, and one was brought to the room.

This hotel is dingy and actually had a really bad smell.

To a non-smoker, the stench of the room and stale smoke was unbearable.

even though we had a non smoking room, it still smelled like smoke.

Negatives:
-Some mold growth on bathroom walls and grout by bathtub.

However, there is still a bit of smoke scent in the room, and overall, in the hotel.

The windows are glued shut and the rooms smell of smoke and incense, I think to cover the smell of smoke.

Whilst on the outside this hotel looks ok, the smell of stale and new smoke is everywhere.

The room was non smoking and didn't smell like smoke either.

As the windows are sealed, there is no escaping the awful smell.

but this turned out to be the most comfortable hotel we stayed at during our 3 week tour of China.

Very quiet and good breakfast once youd got over the shock of cold fish skin with pickled pepper and Tibetn snake.

but the public areas were beautifully themed and decorated.

but I figured that is what its supposed to be and the charm of the place - The Tibet.

The hotel is beautifully decorated in the Tibetan style and promises a lot when you first see it.

This hotel on entering is really impressive the public areas are all themed and really nicely decorated.

The lobby and public rooms were decorated in Tibetan style and were quiet and calm.

Its a classy and tasteful hint towards Tibetan life and culture.

Rooms: we were very fortunate and were upgraded to the executive floor and our room was large, well furnished and great.

My room was exceptional, beautifully furnished with a bathroom that you could party in and a balcony with a city view.

A beautiful hotel in Tibetan style, lovely decor, beautiful bedrooms comfy beds, not a bad breakfast, hotel is in a quiet area of the city, not a lot outside of the hotel, fine if you are on a tour and visiting the panda breeding centre.

Really nice hotel, decor elaborate, staff extremely friendly and helpful in traditional Tibet costume.

This is a great hotel for tourists due to all the decoration inside the hotel.

If you are looking for a nearby restaurant I would highly recommend the hot pot place across the road.

If you want some western food, you'll be glad to know you can find yourself a KFC and a Macdonalds there.

The bed was good and you have a pillow menu to choose from if you so wish.

but our favorite restaurant of the trip was the hot pot restaurant directly across the street.

The hot pot restaurant across the street was one of the best, most authentic in our experience, so definitely plan on at least one meal if you are a fan of hot pots.

The staff were efficient and friendly and the Tibetan menu was superbly presented.

but the air conditioning didn’t work properly and overall the room just felt damp which was a little uncomfortable.

When you walk in the lobby you’re immersed in Tibet culture with the smells, sounds and artwork that you might find if you visited Tibet.

They suggested to show me other rooms and truly trying hard to find a non-smoking room  for me.

The hotel smelt of stale smoke so if you are a non-smoker that may be a problem.

Had an outside seating area for the smokers which trust me is a rarity in China.

My only issue was the room seemed damp, so clothing we hung up to dry didnt dry.

The only problem I had with this stay is I was given a smoking room on a smoking floor and the whole floor reeked of tobacco.

but the room smelled musty and like cigarettes.

We requested a nonsmoking room and they were sold out for the night.

My room smelled badly of smoke which is a common problem in china.

Plus all rooms up to the 10th floor are for smokers and floor 5 has a communal card room and the smell of smoke was wafting down to our bedroom.

The room itself was a smoking room - which I would never have chosen as I detest the smell of smoke,

but it was a smoking room, despite the manager's assurance that it wasn't - I may have fallen for it if he had bothered to remove the ashtrays from the room.

This is my second visit to this hotel, both times being on a academic tour.

We stayed for 2 nights on an Odynovo private tour and we had three in the room so it was a touch squeezy

This is clearly now a group tour hotel so why bother to spruce her up?

but it was recommended by my tour company.

Tibetan tea in room would have no hesitation recommending this hotel it was by far the best hotel we stayed in whilst on tour.

Everything is so special; from the rooms, the personal touches by the staff, the architecture, to the beautiful brunches and breakfasts.

F&B is delicious, the vegetarian tea house was a very happy surprise.

Fantastic breakfast with an exquisite Eggs Benedict or Chinese youtiao.

Tried breakfast and room service, both were adequate.

You treated me so well…and the team of the restaurants, breakfast, bar and maintenance…
I just long to be back… maybe to try to visit Chengdu and Sichuan,

And I had lunch in Tivano in this trip, the pasta is delicious and authentic.

Beautiful surroundings, comfortable rooms, delicious food, best bar in town, coolest people, all of that is the Temple House.

The service was very thorough and thoughtful, the breakfast had a ton of variety, the room is homey and comfortable, and the hotel bar makes excellent cocktails! !

The key is that breakfast is also delicious, very satisfied.

She brings me to room( upgrade), continue talking and she has been Introduced the delicious food and interesting places in Chengdu, the-layout, facilities, and location of each restaurant are introduced in detail, after that, from nobody I don’t know been to I know all things in that moment.

Breakfast best enjoyed on the terrace, tivano brunch under the sun, superb vegetarian food at mixun and the bamboo signature massage at the spa is fantastic!

Tasty breakfast, great bar (Jing) and very good pizze at Tivano.

I loved their breakfast; a combination of buffet and Western and Asian dishes from the menu.

The taste of the breakfast combines with both eastern (or authentic Sichuan Style) and western food with a semi buffet style.

The breakfast, which wasn't included in our rate was semi-buffet with ample menu options and a delicious range of chinese and western breakfast dishes for a really reasonable price.

I especially enjoyed the imaginative vegetarian food at the Tea House and the delicious pasta and cocktails at Tivano.

The details of the service are better, for example, I went to breakfast for two days and the waiter even remembered my name and room number, and everything felt like home.

The only issue is the room layout for some of the rooms (toilet, shower in odd places, closed up - things that like that).

Unfortunately the pool was closed for annual cleaning and the sauna too.

We had one major disappointment which was that the pool area was closed for renovation when we were there.

However, the prevailing colour in the common areas is dark grey, which makes the corridors very dark and can be a little depressing on a non-sunny day.

but dark and dingy (understand they were probably trying to achieve a particular look, however, it did not come across pleasant nor as luxurious as the photos).

Room corridors a bit dark especially at night.

The design is dark with some lighter accents to brightened up the space.

I also find the lighting in the walkways and hallways a bit dark

The hotel is more or less as part of the Tai Koo Li complex and there is access from the side which means you walk out of the side door and you’re already there.

It took some time to get used the the sliding doors and tricky light switches.

Doors to shower and toilet do not close properly.

The car was conveniently parked just outside the main doors of the departure hall and we were offered cold water in the car.

Next door is a modern and very expensive shopping mall.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the Italian restaurant, where the French chef introduced the dishes to us.

The well designed pool is within an elevator ride from your room and the Jing Bar, Tivano italian restaurant and Temple cafe are all fantastic wine and dining options in the hotel.

Great location, excellent servers, fancy Italian restaurants, bars and fitness center are waiting all of you to explore.
