The staff was great from breakfast, to the pool and beach staff, to the restaurant and front desk staff.

The resort is gorgeous, lush, and secluded, you have a whole beach area to yourselves.

The pool area and the beach were good and the restaurants also.

The beachfront rooms overlooked the pool and had a sweeping view of the beautiful private beach and of the sunrise.

We also had the Boxing Day Beach bbq with drinks and fire show before a fabulous evening of wonderful food and music.

Hotel is on its own bay and very spread out.

The resort  was top notch in every aspect from the stunning views , super breakfast with special anniversary /birthday and bon voyage plated treats  , free coffee/tea area / , private beach , pool area and of course the ever friendly and helpful staff .

It’s quite unfortunate that we went on the wrong season so we weren’t allow to enjoy the beach activities including kayaking and sailing which we are really looking forward to.

We last visited Tong Sai Bay in 2006 when we had a fabulous week of being spoilt.

Enjoyed pretty much everything including food, very nice and friendly staff, massage at the spa, dinner at the beach, beautiful garden and comfortable room.

Private and secluded resort in a hidden bay, a small paradise away from the hustle and bustle.

And the anytime available canoes, paddle up was a plus when you feel like it after lying on beach for too long.

The whole staff is excellent and could not be more helpful, never had no for an answer and the location is amazing as well right on the beach

We lounged on the deckchairs by the pool and overlooking the beach, and had cocktails by the bar.

The resort is perfect in every way, beautiful beach on a small secluded bay, lovely gardens and tropical nature, big, clean and modern rooms, two pools, a well appointed gym, and two (soon to be three) restaurants.

The food and drinks are delicious, with the afternoon sweat treats delivered a highlight of everyday.

They also noticed who came to breakfast and cleaned room during our breakfast!

Highlights were the breakfast and the beautiful vistas and the half moon pool, which we had to ourselves most of the time.

Breakfast at RHOY RHOY restaurant, the foods was great, really selection, and good quality.

There were other issues as well, such as calling for the buggy and them forgetting our order, so we ended up waiting for 15 minutes in the dark at the hotel entrance.

Rooms are very dark and there are different levels - a fall risk for sure for elderly / infirm guests.

The only negatives are those mentioned by others ie not a sandy beach and some rooms are a bit dark with all the dark wood.

That said, they are quite dark and could do with a refresh, the bathroom area is much more modern feeling.

I found that the sea view suites were dark inside and our one had damage to the wooden floor.

but it's down a dark and windy road which we wouldn't have felt comfortable walking.

The steps are dark wood, at different angles and fairly hazardous especially if you don't turn on the under stairs lights.

Really underwhelming experience.The front of house staff were disengaged and when we asked to move rooms we were informed there was no refund as we were downgrading (no interest in why we asked to be moved - our room was dark, mosquito infested and isolated ).

Heard that The Tongsai Bay hotel is the oldest hotel in Koh Samui - truthfully the furniture, dark cherry colored wooden floor.

If you decent to rent a car during any portion of your trip and aren't familiar with the island, try to get back before nightfall as it is a tad bit difficult to navigate the roads surrounding after dark.

I felt the villa was somewhat dark and the steps could use a nightlight.

But maybe a little be dark (what is not so bad after sunbathing).

We couldn't see anything beyond the balcony in the dark only to wake up to PARADISE!

What comes to rooms - basically the only option is villas (beachfront suites small and ugly, cottage suite with really bad location, bad a/c system, tiny and dark) But when you consider villas, you end up with such prices that you'd better go to Four Seasons/Banyan tree or Six senses - where you will get 100% 5 stars guaranteed services.

The private infinity pool and outdoor jacuzzi provided a perfect spot to unwind while taking in the breathtaking beach views and mesmerizing sunrises.

The best compliment we can give is that the resort never felt over-crowded; the hotel manager and much of the staff have been at the hotel for 15+ years and the day-to-day operations seemed to run like clockwork, freeing up time for guests!

Mark the Hotel Manager was extremely attentive and he and the whole team impressed us no end.

but especially the staff and how they put attention to details.

Special mentions to Manuel (General Manager) and Mark (Hotel Manager) for taking the time to speak to us and to 'Mafia' the resort cat who was always greeting us with his Xmas collar on.

The Thai food is one of the best I ever had, they had a mangosteen dinner meal that week and it was mind blowing.

Dining at the hotel’s restaurant, Po-Lad Beach Bistro & Bar, was a culinary journey that celebrated Thai and international flavors with a commitment to sustainable sourcing.

We did a lovely beach bbq one of the nights, a traditional Thai dance dinner another,  that was magical and movie night under the stars was also really special for the kids.

From a mouthwatering seafood barbecue one night to an unforgettable dinner of local Thai street food accompanied by a mesmerizing Thai dance performance, every meal was a delight.

With some interesting twists on some Thai classics, they also have a wide range of dishes to choose from to keep us going back.

Breakfast has a rich selection of fruits and juices (amazing and prepared fresh in real time), eggs, Thai dishes, breads and pastries.

Thai street food night was a lovely new addition, entertainment just right and happily sat drinking soaking it all up.

The Thai street food nights at Rhoy Rhoy were a lovely addition to each week, and the beach bbq on our first night was not to be missed.

The hotel also hosted a Thai street food buffet with Thai music and dancers which was another great experience.

Mark, the hotel manager, who I had already chatted to about cycling around Koi Samui did everything he could to assist with my wife and explaining how Thai processes work.

Here you will find a great variety of bars ,restaurants, Steakhouses ,Italian pasta / pizza  or Thai and Seafood speciality .

Fish tails offers a mixture of fusion and Thai fish, meat and vegetarian dishes and Rhoy Rhoy excellent Thai dishes; we highly recommend both restaurants.

The accommodation offered great views, is spacious and very comfortable.

We had a beautiful, newly renovated Seaview Pool Villa, large in size and well appointed down to even providing different sweets at turn down.

but the sand was rocky, making it impossible to walk on, and the sea was very wavy too.

We had an amazing beachfront suite and felt very cared for in every way.

It took our breath away with the stunning scene of the resort.

We stayed at an Akron pool villa and it was amazing, super nice views.

We stayed in an ocean view beachfront suite, which is of good size.

And 2 nights in a Tongsai Seaview, Pool Villa, again with exceptional views over the ocean.

Big rooms and balconies, beautiful views to ocean and park.

The room I stayed in opens onto the panorama view of the sea and pool, very excellent room and good condition.

The resort itself it is so stunning from the entrance with abundance of nature.

You have Bophut Beach to greet you mere steps away.

but the staff provided shower curtains so that was fine :) The sand on Bophut beach is a bit grainy and the sea is not great so we mostly spent our time in the pool which is absolutely amazing - big with lots of loungers around so finding a place was never a problem.

The room looks directly to Bophut beach, which is a pretty quiet beach compared with others in the island and you can even hear the sound of the waves after sunset.

The Superlatives:
1) The resort is located right on the Bophut Beach, a short drive from the airport and immediately to the west of the Fisherman's Village.

The infinity pool was amazing - right behind a part of the Bophut beach that's semi-private.

We stayed 6 nights at Hansar Samui resort, a luxury hotel by the Bophut Beach, just off the so- called fisherman's Village which a nice pedestrian area.

The Hansar is in a nice location on Bophut beach, just down from the Fisherman's Village, where you'll find an ample amount of shops, bars, and restaurants.

but at the same time has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants and things to do (many tour companies operate directly out of Bophut beach)

Location: On the end of the main road in Bophut beach, so it was very walkable to lots of restaurants, bars, spas, shopping.

All in all a good choice in Bophut beach.

What i least liked was Bophut beach: sand is rough and thick, and the colour of the sea is nothing extraordinary

The Hansar is a large, modern complex with a good pool on Bophut Beach (in my opinion the worst beach I've been to in Thailand - very coarse, gritty sand, not suitable for walking on barefoot).

Hansar Bophut is without a doubt the best located resort on Bophut beach.

); all meals we had on site were delish, including a romantic supper in the signature restaurant

Location: Bophut Beach by the Fisherman's Village- not busy like Chewang Beach

A truly delicious way to learn the culinary art of Thai cooking.

The resort is well maintained, the beach in front of the resort is nice and the breakfast is good.

The breakfast buffet has everything you could want and more.

Pool was large and very clean , lots of loungers and plentiful supply of towels - property is centrally located at fisherman’s village and has easy access to lots of very good restaurants and bars located 100 metres from the resort

Service at breakfast was also highly commendable.

We loved the cook to order egg and coffee menu that personalized what you needed.

Breakfast is good, continental and service throughout is very friendly.

Breakfast was one of our favourite things at Hansar

The food was good, good choices, good quality and delicious.

Small improvement on the breakfast like natural orange juice will make this place one of the best in the world.

Staff is friendly, the breakfast and setting very nice.

During the check-in the staff noticed that the day after would be our birthday (my gf's and mine) and so the staff surprised us with two birthday cakes at the breakfast on the day.

A good breakfast selection, I always went back for seconds!

The food was exceptionally good in the morning for breakfast and in the evening, my wife has a gluten-free diet and they looked after her very well during our stay.

Rich and varied breakfasts and a personal attention from Meow, who is in-charge of the customer’s experience, which makes each guest feel as the most important guest.

The food there is ok and we would have welcomed more variety at the breakfast buffet

They accommodated our vegan breakfast every morning and provided great care and attention to detail.

There are also ping pong and pool tables to keep entertained.

Our room number was #1302 on the third floor with unparalleled views of the main pool and sea.

Pool bar staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

It is built around a large and mostly quiet pool.

Pros:  a beachfront 4 or 5-star resort;   a clean & spacious room (Seaview XL room type);  friendly & well-trained staff;   proximity to the Fisherman's Village (where there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and other shops);  a large swimmming pool which overlooks the seashore;  a close partnership with Oceana Samui Charters, which has a dedicated front desk in the hotel's reception area and made day trips to the surrounding islands a fairly smooth process; an in-room bath tub in addition to a shower; great Southern Thai cusiine (especially the lunch set); Covid precautions visibly in place (staff consistently wearing masks, with gloves provided at breakfast buffet).

The team were very friendly, especially round the pool.

Pool has a jet function which is nice and has a good infinity pool edge which connects to the ocean view.

we had a fabulous weekend and fully enjoyed the spacious room, the amazing pool and Spa.

The best feature by far is the swimming pool overlooking the beach and Koh Phangan.

The hotel has a massive infinity pool, and the bar has 2 happy hour times throughout the day.

Nice room, great pool and helpful staffs especially khun Meow.

The beach bar was cool relax mood next to the infinity pool right next to fisherman village.

The hotel layout is not to my liking as well as not giving any sense of seclusion and privacy.

Although they have put both a sheer curtain and a blockout curtain on the balcony windows to try and account for others looking in, people can still see through the sheer curtain so the blockout was required for privacy.
