The only problem I always have in wintertime is that there is no possibility to change the temperature of the room if the heating is on.

When question why are the bills not acceptalbe, his response was the Bank of China will not accept defective bills.

Switching on aircon means switching on the heater instead and made the room very hot.

When we first arrived, we had to ask for help in cooling the room in that the thermostat was a little tricky to figure out.

Seemed random if the thermostat would work or not.

Check in and check out process was smooth and Giulia from the business lounge was an amazing host.

Taking into account the price paid, a very good choice to stay for business .

I have been coming to Changzhou for over 18 years on business and this Shangri-La La/ Traders Hotel was always on my top 2 facilities in the city.

We stayed in the Traders Fudu for 5 nights on a business trip and were overwhelmed by how friendly and supportive all the staff were as well as the quality of food and restaurants they had available, there were also many other foreign business people at this hotel which made it feel a little more homely.

The service in the club lounge on the 31st floor is flawless!

Most importantly, the food that was supposed to be hot was hot and the food that was supposed to be cold was cold.

At this time, it is always difficult to get a cab; especially if it is raining or cold.

The only minus is that is a bit cold in the lobby in winter time.

She then brought me a glass of ice tee, all I wanted was a cold beer.

However, what annoys me very much was that the hotel switched off air conditioning because it’s “cold season”.

I would highly recommend to join the Executive lounge, Giulia is very welcoming and friendly.

Two things that I have to complain was that the check in process was a bit slow.

The only thing that lets the hotel down, as a 5* is that they allow smoking in the lobby bar.

Worst thing was a smell of cigarette smoke in the corridors and the room.

The shower was not the cleanest either and the grout needing a good scrubbing to remove the mold build up.

but that wouldn't really help the smell of smoke all over the place.

The airco was working better when I closed them.

The air conditioning in corner rooms is not always effective.

I asked the reservation desk to cut my trip short and check out on Aug 7th they refused.

Checkout is slow, very irritating practice the hotel, they will keep callibg you prior to your arrival to confirm your reservation.

This hotel provide a health club and spa.

I booked the club floor and so we had access to the club lounge as well.

I would like to say a special THANKS to Grace, one of the staff member at horizon club.

We booked a club room for 2 nights and were very impressed by Yuki and Vivian who went out of their way to help us.

Happy hour is a war zone on club floor, zero food left, 3 minutes after they did replacement, exactly same on next morning breakfast.

I would recommend improving the food in the main restaurant and VIP club.

At the moment, this Hotel is exceptional value as you can book a "Horizon Club" room for much less than £100 per night and this entitles you to a free buffet breakfast and cocktails each evening in the Lounge.

The Horizon Club on the 17th floor offers private dining and happy hour (or three) each evening with complimentary food and drink.

Staff at the Horizon Club Lounge, viz Ashley Han, Cindy Liu and Missy Liu are helpful, friendly and considerate.

If possible visit Orizon Club happy hour from 17 to 19:30 , the bar at first floor is not bad at hall.

They definitely recruit and train really well at the Shangri La, and you will struggle to find the same level of service in almost all other hotels.

The cabinets are dirty and smells horrible.

However, as I entered into it, it smelled the same.

Couple of observations:
- Double-check where you need to be in Changzhou - this property is very much in the southwest of the city.

For major cities like Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing, that gap is no worse than it would be in, say, Chicago or Amsterdam.

The location is a bit far from the city area,

The hotel location is its problem
Can only get by taxi and far from the city.

My friend booked this hotel accidentially, we realized that the hotel is very far away from the city center, where it takes you half an hour and RMB 45 taxi fare to get there.

I’m satisfied with the service in the hotel, free parking, friendly front desk staffs, good gym.

The fitness room, swimming pool and sauna are OK.

Nice view，close to Yancheng Safari，room size and facilities are comfortable.

Nice indoor pool open 7am-10pm  great gym open 24h.

If you want to stay in the hotel, you can spend your time quite well in the Fitness area and Sports bar that includes some games, a football table, billiard table and dart.

So, if you have to spend your time
In this hotel, you may choose to spend it in the KTV, spa and massage place ( not the cheap one as it is a five star hotel), bar and snooker area, indoor swimming pool and fitness centre.

The facility is quite new and looks great.

Kudos to the management who I think did a very good job of delivering international standard facilities and service in an unlikely location.

Friend staff and nice open spaces, good gym also.

For fans of a walk in the park it is the perfect spot.

The dinosaur park was approximately a 10/15 minutes drive away.

Location is right next to Yan Cheng zoo and park; quiet

but I realize the park is quite quiet even at the weekend.

The hotel is well located for visiting the Oxford International College of Changzhou and Yancheng park

The hotel is situated 2 minutes away from the Safari park and 30 minutes from the Dinosaur land and 45 minutes from the World Joy land - ideal for a family week end.

I has satisfied with the room- tidy and clean, wide space for two person.

A nice hotel, room clean and comfortable, shower hot, burger good, nice staff, good breakfast

I booked a Suite and the rooms were clean and especially my room had no stains on the carpet, which is normally an issue with many hotels in China.

The room's were very clean, confortable and well maintained.

but stubborn and unflexible, probably "communist residue".

Be careful if wanting a Non Smoking room.
