A small suggestion would be to have another bike mechanic on hand to help out during the bike pick up and drop off as the process seemed to take longer than it needed to with the poor guy working all alone.

though some of the road surfaces are poor this is not a major factor.

However, those in the lower levels are subject to traffic and poor pavement close to Riccione.

I have absolutely nothing poor to say about the experience.

though it takes 5-10 km to really get out of town on each ride, and some of the roads are busy and in poor condition.

I believe that one should always take responsibility for oneself or suffer the consequences for poor choices.

Room very small, no storage space,  breakfast buffet ~ cold scrambled eggs daily, bikers lunch ~ insufficient amount of food, poor quality wines served at dinner, table service poor ~ no silverware ~ short supply of coffee ~ cream.

Although we'd been hoping for longer rides having seen the range of daily tours on the website and were slightly disappointed to find only 2 available most of the week in the heat (30-35+°C throughout) we would have struggled with significantly longer rides.

We also lost the internet after 1 week and never got it back (I think they are still calling the engineer :-) ).

While the Dory is far from rustic, we call our wonderful week there last fall "bike camp" because we felt as

Things didn't start out well when we had a phone call the day before saying that we would have a 3.5 hour wait at the airport before we could be picked up - not happy we phoned them back  and they arranged for some-one to come and pick us up at the correct time - things were looking better!

When we arrived it was raining and they gave us the key of the apartment, an incomprehensible map and poor instructions on where the exact door of the garage was.

We had dinner in the restaurant which is a kind of buffet affair, you needed to pick your moment to get a good main course and, if you arrived late, lots of the courses did not get replaced / refreshed, one particular night which apparently was the last night of the Italian holidays was hell on earth, the dining room appeared to be some kind of warzone with guests fighting over food every time the poor waiters bought more from the kitchen.

The one concern, and the only reason for four rather than five stars, is the very poor quality of the roads in the area.

There is an area for children, a bit too small and poor.

The room was anyway clean and the cleaning ladies were super efficient and kind.

Our stay was both memorable and outstanding: kind, friendly and helpful staff, superb food and impeccably clean room.

The only downside is that when the hotel was built the lifts installed were so narrow that a wheelchair will not pass through the doors so my dear cousin who is in a wheelchair has to listen enviously to our praise for the hotel without being able to stay at the Augustus himself.

Sadly, this hotel couldn't accommodate my disabled cousin due to the narrowness of the lift doors ruling out wheelchair use

Only thing to be improved is the sound of elevator or water pump of the swimming pool that could be clearly heard in the room (5th floor) late in the evening and early in the morning.

but to all you people who have complained it was cold Italians eat cold food, The guy who said the pool was dirty and the hotel was 1950's decor must have been on something because maura had the hotel renovated last year it has new bathrooms, bedrooms and a Stylish lift with a tv built into the floor as shown on a picture i have uploaded.

We ate out evry night, the food was over cooked and then left to dry out in a baine marie, and then to top it all was cold, everybody Iwe spoke to said they could not wait to get home and have a proper cooked meal,.

Breakfast was continental style with cereal, bread rolls,pasties and cold meats as well as fruit.It was always well displayed and stocked.

remember this is Italy, so they like veg cold, and they like there fish too!!!

but there is room for improvement definitely with the food and why oh why isn't the beer cold enough! !

Food was often cold, obviously re-heated from a caterer.

The Senior was extremely run down, basic hotel with mildew in the bathroom, poor decor everywhere, bad food and a not so safe, very cold, dirty pool area.

The rooms are quite small and dark, and if you get one from the street side, it's probably noisy because of the traffic and the nearby train track.

Still, whoever is a light sleeper it might be difficult to sleep on lower floor rooms because of the traffic, Well, the long days on the beach, tours, late dinners with excellent food makes the trick :)  The hotel has a pool and open air jacuzzi.

Some reviews refer to the location being a little bit noisy,

but there was absolutely no noise from the street.

Only thing is the noisy road on the main stretch of the hotel, also train goes on all night drives u nuts! !

but despite the buses, scooters and cars the hotel never seems noisy.

The Senior is in an ideal position for Cattolicas attractions
however it is near a busy road and railway line, this was not a problem after the first night as you get accustomed to the noise.

but if the brochure says centrally located near bars, main roads and railway  then your going to get some noise  but i must say it made no great impact on the holiday 
would i go back?

The hotel is on a really busy road, all you hear is motorbikes and cars going past, you can not relax by the pool for the noise of the traffic.

although the balcony was small and there was a bit of noise it didn't bother us.

Definately do not expect a nights sleep,the hotel sits on a road that has 24hr traffic noise and sirens, also a railway adds to this racket, only sheer exhaustion eventually led to sleep.

The Balconys are small, and if you are facing the front a litle noisy,

only downside noise from road and railway, take you earplugs.

It's true that there is traffic noise and noise from the nearby railway line -

The position is fine if you don't mind some noise, as it is on a busy road.

As was said in other reviews there is traffic noise and general street noise, so not for the light sleeper.

This was not an enjoyable walk to the circuit as there were no footpaths and a busy and narrow road.

The only possible drawback is that it's on a slightly busy road

The only down side to the holiday and there was only one was the constant noise from the bar across the road, granted we were told there would be noise due to the fact that it was on the main road

i must say the only complaint about the hotel from our party
was the noise coming from the road and the local bar just outside the hotel.

although a three star does not compare favorably with other three stars in the resort especially as the swimming pool is dominated on two sides by a busy main road and side street that was dominated by motorbike and scooter engines.

The hotel is situated on a main road, and can be very noisy from traffic in the pool area.

but on quite a busy road, ok if you have a room at the back of the hotel as we did.

On a couple of nights, there was also a little bit of noise from the road and other hotels playing live music,

While we were staying our room was cleaned immaculately every day and towels changed etc, the pool was always clean,

We stayed at the senior for one week and i was glad when it was up.Although the staff were very friendly and helpful,the pool and rooms clean and pleasant there were many down sides.

but we found by closing the roller shutters, and closing the doors, and keeping the ceiling fan on, we didnt need the air con on so made it quiet, comfortable, and we slept soundly.

however was able to get to sleep after the first night.

however it was in need of good decoration and the beds was so uncomfortable many a morning we woke to bad backs,The food was awful, it was the same boring food put out every day, it was not true Italian food, it was adapted for the british, and i am sorry to upset the few who may have enjoyed the food,where did you leave your taste buds?

but it was understated indeed as the bar on most nights had singing and the noise was terrible and so was the singing, this was no fault of the hotel but I do recommend ear plugs if you intend sleeping or alternatively just go and join in the singing you couldnt be worse than they were.

There is also a train near by that makes a huge amount of noise at night, and at first makes a ahrd night sleep.

though there is double glazing and a big shutter the road noise could not be blocked out.

It was fine for a one night stay- if somewhat expensive for what we got-

Returned home to have a $110.00 charged to my credit card after we paid in full.

Prices varied 7 Euros on Friday and 9 Euros on Sunday - not sure whether this is the same charged to other guests as there didn't seem to be any consistency with this .

We flew to Bologna and caught the airpot bus to the station (8 euros) and then first class carriage train to Cattolica and a short taxi ride from the station (15 euros - all Italian taxis are expensive).

but nobody asked for payment so I can't comment on the cost for sunbeds!

We didn't drink in hotel as was expensive.

If I had to rate it ONLY on the property itself, I would probably have given it three dots,

We paid an extra €5 a night on arrival for a sea view.

but on the beach if you want to lay down on a sunbed, you should pay a horrible price (7 EUR/sunbed/day) .

Drinks by the pool are not very expensive and Giuseppe e batman tries to be as helpful as possible and is very quick in processing orders.

but to use my network 4g which proved to be very expensive.

We didn't expect anything of this hotel because of the low price,

but hotel staff provided accurate & detailed instructions on how to catch the local bus to reach our train out in the same length of time & at a fraction of the price - much appreciated by these 2 backpackers.

but we have been very disappointed by this one : very expensive(917 euros for 5 nights) for a limit 3 stars hotel!!

Overall experience was okay, rooms are clean, housekeeping was cleaning them actually immedietaly after requesting a cleanup.

but while the staff are mostly very pleasant and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable, the place is soulless!

The hotel rooms are well set out and have pretty much all facilities needed, with plenty of room and the cleanliness is at a very high standard.

but house keeping did there best to find us 2 softer ones..this did affect our sleep badly throughout the stay and waking up with a headache every morning and being really tired throughout the day it can have a big effect on you even though it's just a small thing.

but we never intended to spend much time in the room other than shower and sleep.

The sound proof of the rooms is not that good and sleeping long hours in the morning a bit difficult.

Too small room (we booked quadruple room: two adults and two kids 3 and 5 sleeping on beds above each other) opposite to another hotel, no view, tiny balcony just to accomodate two seats.

Only negative point for us was that the live entertainment went on until midnight and therefore our little ones found it a bit hard to get off to sleep.

Very small room for a family of 4 with view over the parking, the floor hadn’t been cleaned and was very dirty.

With that in mind unfortunately we had 4 of us staying in a small room.

though the room we had was a little small (lacking the space required to open your suitcases) it served its purpose.
