Aragona Palace is a lovely hotel with very good facilities (spa, roof top thermal pool and gardens, spacious rooms ) and efficient,friendly staff in particular Carmen and Jelena on reception and Mattia in the restaurant.

Friendly, helpful reception staff members!

The staff at the hotel and the cleanliness of the hotel are first class, everyone so helpful and friendly.

The staff including Manuela, Raphaela and Josephine gave us beautiful and friendly service all week.

Well located hotel with friendly staff - particularly in the restaurant.

It was a lovely friendly comfortable hotel with a perfect location right on the quayside where you felt you were in amongst the hustle and bustle of a busy port with all the local atmosphere.

Praise must be given to the staff, who work tirelessly to make sure your stay is as pleasant as can be all of them are friendly,polite and professional

The Staff were friendly and gave good advice on how to get around and what to see.

Staff are friendly and helpful, their dining room is bright, fresh and pleasant to eat in.

The hotel is situated on the harbour and is everything you would expect, very comfortable with friendly staff.

although the staff were all very friendly, it felt like they were on a conveyor belt .No chance to relax between courses .

Other than that comment, we found all of the staff quite quite kind, friendly, helpful and hospitable.

It was loud, so we didn't get much sleep during our stay.

.although I think we were unlucky with
our neighbours who liked the TV on and doors and shutters open - all the time and loud.

No subtle music played it is like being in a holiday camp .

but we found it really noisy, we were more or less above restaurants and bars and when all these closed groups of loud teenagers congregated just in front of hotel on scooters etc and didn't go til 4am.

However when on the last evening, there was no half bottle of wine waiting for us after having drunk half of one the night before, we asked the head waiter where it was.

However, if you are looking for a party town, this isn't it - the Island is beautiful and has managed to keep it's original charm,

but which has loud pop music blaring out and plastic faux wicker seating.

but it might have an effect on the small loud groups who are not being thoughtful.

Underneath room 109 and 110 is a bar that plays music to 02:00 in the morning and this resonates through the floor of the room, we tried to tolerate it

The only negative is the noise from the street - last night the music was blasting until 3:00.

We were right above a bar/restaurant which did get a little loud at night,

but the second night it was playing at 10:30 PM and I had to call to move rooms.

There were also perhaps hundreds of people on the street and terrace and Italians do talk loud.

I was surprised it wasn't as noisy as I suspected.

Our room had a balcony overlooking the harbour which in mid September was not overly crowded or noisy.

We could hear everything in the rooms next to us, the walls are that thin, so it’s difficult to sleep.

Noise not a problem for us even with ferries docking and leaving, and a wedding on the street below.

However, we had a room at the front of the property, which was VERY noisy at night.

It’s just such a shame the hotel isn’t better sound proofed.

You will hear neighbours tv and even snoring!

The walls are thin so you can hear everything in adjoining rooms - the terraces are shared so it’s not a hotel for privacy really.

The only small gripe i have is our room didn't have black out curtains so every morning when the sun rose we were awake.

As I was overlooking the street, I had people walking about, cars and noise from the bars and restaurants around.

We had a room with a balcony over looking the marina which had good views and spacious; the only down side is that it can be noisy overnight from passing traffic and people, especially over the weekend,

We read some reviews which stated that the front rooms were noisy and suffered from exhaust smoke from the boats in the harbour.

although this can be quite noisy early morning sometimes.

but a little tired) 

The hotel is in the buzz of the port - we enjoyed the liveliness of the area, busy but not too noisy.

If you want complete peace and quiet, then this hotel is not for you,

It was noisy and ferries exhausting fuel not good to smell or inhale.

We stayed in October and the island was definitely on the summer wind down - I can imagine that a room overlooking the port could be a noisy place to stay in the height of summer, with boats coming and going and the noise of people at the bars and adjacent restaurants.

The front desk is VERY helpful, everyone was very nice.

Staff were incredible, the room was wonderful with a gorgeous view I can't get over.

The staff, especially Lorenzo and Jelena, were incredibly kind and helpful when we had any questions. The included breakfast was fantastic - a large buffet of various baked goods (pistaccio cornettos!)

Every assistance was given to ensure we made the most of our holiday by the hotel staff from reduced price excursions to local restaurants/attractions.

It was so bad that we left Ischia early and the front desk staff didn’t even seem surprised that we were leaving early.

The personnel was kind and helpful and ordered a transfer from the airport, which was very nice since our plane got delayed several hours, and we probably hadn't made it if not!

but this gives it a kind of retro charm as it is kept clean.

I want to mention the staff were great, in particular Luigi and Carmen.

Ischia is beautiful and we could not have wished for more. Thankyou.

My son Craig loved Manuella and all the staff receptionists cleaner and magic maintenance man !!!

Having said that, it was spotlessly clean and the restaurant staff were lovely.

The local youngsters congregate around the port, outside the Hotel Aragona and shout, and scream for hours.

We are currently staying at the aragona palace hotel in room 201 for our 30th anniversary, the hotel is spotless, all the staff are so welcoming & accommodating, from the receptionists, waitresses to the efficient 'magic' maintenance man,  it is in an ideal position for the harbour, shops, and beach within a 5min walk, they also have an arrangement with one of the beachfronts friendliest restaurant where you get free sunbeds.

Each staff member was friendly, helpful, patient and eager to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

Could also replace the single use plastic cups with glasses to make more environmentally friendly.

We arrived from lake Garda part of our honeymoon and we were  collected by the lovely Antonio from the port .We had a lovely friendly welcome at reception nothing was too much trouble , we opted for room 206 which has beautiful sea  views towards Vesuvius and the mainland  the room is spacious and modern and we were treated to a bottle of fizz compliments of the hotel .

In all all the staff were really friendly.

The hotel was great, super friendly and service minded staff!

This is a charming family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble and staff so welcoming and friendly.

The choice was poor and not good quality.

Even the breakfast (which is appreciated by other reviewers) is poor.

I have down graded the service because of the poor food at the issue over the food allergy.

There were signs in the room saying how they would charge you for bringing in any food or drinks from outside.

The most absurd thing was a sign in the room which I will attach.

but many people walked around without them there were no signs regarding foot wear.

The only warning I would put is that some of the rooms have no window.

No problem getting sunbeds and no sign of anyone ‘bagging’ sunbeds at some ridiculous time in the morning!

but was spoilt at times by large groups of ladies staying at the hotel screaming and shouting even though there were signs everywhere saying 'please be quiet in the spa'
Maybe they have never been to a sauna, who knows, but it was very off putting.

Also we were prohibited from bringing drinks and food into the hotel which was a bit annoying.

There's a surprising notice on the door stating that those who eat food in the room or drink beverages that are not purchased at the hotel will be charged an extra fee for cleaning and service.

But the very best thing about the hotel is the staff.

Most of all though….I would like to complement the staff .

Finally, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we felt very well looked after.

Grifo Hotel is a little place of heaven, everything about it is great and pleasant:
It has one of the best and friendliest staff ever, out of any hotel in the world, everyone was genuinely amazing and we really bonded with the team.

From the scenery, to the staff it was always an amazing time.

One of the desk staff sat with us to go over a map of the island, how to get around using the buses, and places to visit.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally helpful in arranging us transportation from the port and down to the town center, and really makes an effort to get to know you.

The breakfast team ran by the lovely Sara are exceptionally friendly.

The pool is perfect, with a great bar with a friendly and efficient barman if you fancy a drink.

The best things about this hotel are the pool area, and the positive, friendly way some of the staff - for example Mario at the pool bar/restaurant, and Sara on the breakfast team - truly make you welcome.

We had a fabulously relaxing week, the staff were all friendly and went the extra mile to help with special requests.

.Al la Carte restaurant at top of hotel ..is expensive for the portion sizes..we travel all around the world and the portions were tiny.

Only problem was the price had risen from £289 to £805!

but was sadly way out of out price range to be honest.

I would say one downside if the price of drinks around five euros for a coke, it put us off spending much time there and wandered around the town more where you can find food and drinks a lot cheaper.

Also the wines are extremely expensive, around e28-34 at the lower end, annoying when the same wines can be found locally at a quarter of the price.

There are so many other options in town, don’t pick this over priced mess.

Seriously overpriced and a boring location.

It is very expensive for drinks and food.

There was only 1 slice cheese available and it was probably the lowest cost cheese as it was so bland.

The published rate for a taxi to the harbour is €15 euros.

but we really ended up paying for it in the rates.

Does not fit a family of three. Overpriced.

It was difficult and a lot more expensive to find alternate accommodation at the last minute. I

I have to say I found it confusing having the price of each course on the menu, I could not understand this as people other than residents are not allowed to eat in the restaurant!!!

Not the first report of this hotel overbooking sea view rate rooms on tripadviser, and the bad attitude of management.

The private beach has sunbeds & umbrella at no additional cost with a snack bar behind for drinks & food payable to the locals running it and not the hotel so take some cash!

Furthermore in the end we've been surprisingly charged a £ 12.00 extra as a 'stay tax'.

Now we had to urgently look for alternative rooms and book at a higher price.

but after searching for hours for somewhere to go for a bit of relaxation, this seemed a price worth paying.

We were on the ground floor near the pool, with a little balcony area .The room was small

but okay, the hotel rooms are small and in need of updating.

I did look round this hotel and the rooms are tiny compared with my usual hotel.

My first thought was that room was quite small

For what we pai,  this hotel was substandard.they had small rooms with double beds only .it's best described as a 3* b&b.

As a result, we were sent to a very VERY small room off the side of the lobby.

The rooms are as described they are a little small the showers very very small not a hotel for big people.

Rooms are small as usu In Europe, specially bathrooms,

however our room was very small and dated making our two night stay a little uncomfortable at times.

but the first room was very small and wouldnt have been nice for 2 weeks.

The service here is exemplary from the front desk to the spa to the breakfast.

From the minute we arrived the staff went over & above with service.

but other than that, place was clean, staff was always helpful.

Not only are they very accommodating and Knowledgeable,

Our 4 adults were traveling abroad with an infant and the staff at Villa Durrueli continuously went above and beyond to create a wonderful stay.

This is such a lovely hotel - mainly because of the staff.

It's a really good hotel and the staff is fantastic.

Lovely breakfast room on the ground floor, the staff were entertaining as we got to know them over the two weeks.

The main USP for me was how great the staff are.

The staff was consistently excellent, from Giovanni and Ciro in the reception, Titti, the super friendly and knowledgeable guest experience manager, and all of the nice folks working at the restaurants- Pasquale and many others whos names I'm forgetting now.

Above all, the staff were fantastic; knowledgeable, passionate about the island and the hotel, warm and friendly.

The premises are beautiful, serene and quiet; the food is incredible, the service outstanding, the people (including a very professional staff) friendly,  and, the location is convenient to everything else you may wish do during your stay.

The hotel has been unsympathetic to say the least and resorted to lying - fortunately we had recordings and our tour orator has refunded us the final night.

A free shuttle bus can be booked through reception and saves a lot of money on taxis to and from places on the island.

Concierge Titti who speaks perfect English was a big help with all things.

Not forgetting the staff of Il Mirto restaurent who dealt with the bee sting so efficiently!

The staff took care of all my needs starting with transportation from Naples train station.

We met some wonderful staff (nothing was too much trouble) and other guests.

The wifi was temperamental, sometimes super-fast and other times nonexistent.

This is once a day and only in the afternoon so a connection would be nice..The hotel also provides daily beach/pool towels which was not mentione din the brochure  so naturally we took our own.
