but close beaches in the near sourrounding invite to explore more of the island.

There is a beach in front of the hotel and if you are up for a more energetic weekend, they have loads of suggestions and tips of what to do and with whom.

The location is great, on the Viana beach which is a small strip of sand with a very nice beach restaurant.

The heated pool was a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a delicious caipirinha after a day at one of the many beautiful beaches on the island.

It's well known that the island is jam packed with mosquitoes.

The hotel is in front of the beach, swimming pool has a special place for kids, restaurant is very good.

Breakfast and food in general is excellent - alternatives for dining are as well available in the closeby historic centre.

The food was of a high quality, the breakfast more varied that at most Brazilian hotels and the dinner menu very innovative.

Very good breakfast with a good diversity of fruits, home-made breads & pastries, selection of hot meals, etc..  Food served for dinner was just excellent and very resonably priced.

but delicious ( I had the salmon tartare for starter every day) and the kids menu got the thumbs up.

The breakfast have enumerous itens with very high quality.

The breakfast was only ok, which led us to unavoidably compare with other better experiences we previously had in Ihabela.

The breakfast (included) was delicious, it was great having free parking, and the front desk staff were very helpful in deciding where to go for dinner on the island.

Breakfasts are also amazing and served in the restaurant which is beautifully designed and has lovely views.

And the arrangement of the inside garden area gives you the feeling to be in a small paradise.

The hotel is very charming, has the most gorgeous gardens, pools with views (some heated), beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, excellent service, and .

The garden of the hotel is also very nice.

The hotel is well integrated in its environment, with nice and well maintained gardens.

The delicious breakfast with the beautiful views of the channel, the heated swimming pool with friendly bar service, the serenity of the landscaped gardens, the charming accommodation and the ever so helpful staff made for a wonderful family experience in Ilhabela.

Buildings and gardens are carefully taken care of.

Immediately we were very impressed by its location, gardens and the views.

the entire hotel is amazing, very nice building, perfect and clean rooms, nicely furnished and decorated, very nice gardens, great pool area including pool bar.

The refurbishment of this establishment is wonderfull management has done a wonderful job and the gardens pool and sauna just perfect.

The hotel set up as a group of different buildings in a very beautiful garden provide for its charm.

Not everyone wants to watch tv or play play station.

As I have gone with my wife, it was a little disturbing to have so many kids playing in the pool and screaming all the time, because that we used much less the pool.

I guess brazilians are just loud and non-educated, because everybody on that hotel speaks loud, from the owner, to the employees, till the guests.

There’s several alternatives such as, heated pool, wet bar, ofurôs, spa and alternatives for kids.

Eventhough the pool area is next to the street you are not disturbed by this at all.

Facilities, service, food, great warm pool and hot tubs.

From the reception to the restaurant to the pool everyone had a natural ability to make sure we had what we needed and that we enjoyed our stay.

The staff’s friendly, the pool’s cool with clear water and if that’s not your thing then they have an Ofuro for 4 for you to enjoy, just in case you’re stressed.

I also tried the sauna which has a pool with cool water annexed before relaxing in the hammock.

The pool area was lovely with an easy view of the beautiful coastline.

although arguably Ilhabela has many equally good locations

On the other hand, it also has a few significant drawbacks:

- Room size.

but it's all pleasant never obnoxious and mostly the pool is a calm space for all to enjoy.

The restaurant Portofino  is amazing if you decide to eat on site.

The reception staff went out of its way to help me find transportation, activities, food and overall helped me have a enjoyable stay.

My favorite part of this property was the private beach adjacent to the pools and in front of the bar/restaurant.

The pools were right on the beach and the pool bar was nice.

The bar service  and the pool area are at the water front across the road and is in very good order with friendly staff.

The bar, pool and beach facilities across the street was perfect.

We had a room with a beach view and we loved it.

İt has its own beach which is so nice also.

The pool, directly opposite the hotel is very nice with a long pier that stretches over the water.

The beach club, with an overwater deck is pretty cool and the breakfast is just amazing!! !

The hotel is well situated, facing the sea and fitted with a private beach.

Beautiful heritage bungalow has been remodelled into a picturesque hotel next to the beach.

The beach and the pool is right across the street with the hotel restaurant in that same vicinity.

It's located just in front of the Viana Beach which has water just like crystal, and there was a very famous restaurant next it.

The first night we dined at the beach restaurant, very pleasant view across to mainland Brazil and the pier where one can swim off is great fpr sunbathing

Well situated, just by the sea with a great swimming pool on a deck over the sea, one of the innumerable Ilhabela beaches just a couple of meters away.

The pool is located next to the ocean and provides an excellent view of the public and private beach and the dock as well.

The beaches near the hotel are picture perfect.

It is at very beautiful location, has perfect swimming area and beach access.

Amazing deck on the beach which reminded us of Ibiza.

It is situated in the middle of 2 beaches, almost above the ocean! Just great!!!"

The swimmingpool is just asside the ocean and very beatiful as the small beach.

We were served a breakfast feast every morning in the large dining hall with spacious seating to either be outside with the views, near people, or completely away if seclusion is what you're looking for.

On the other hand, improvements at the breakfast could be nice.

Service impeccable, lovely facilities and the breakfast put on about a million kilos on both of us :)

The breakfast is quite varied wit a good selection of choices.

Breakfast is great and abundant (self serve) staff is friendly and helpful (I don't know how well they're acquainted with English since I speak Portuguese).

Breakfast is sumptuous, and the rooms are well appointed.

The breakfast was standard for what I experienced throughout Brazil, a very good selection of sliced meats, fruits, pastries and beverages.

but odd, medieval in sub tropical setting with modern, excellent service, but very little choice in breakfasts architecture out of place in surrpundungs.

The continental breakfast was amazing, tons to choose from.

The hotel is set up with big hallways and a huge and beautiful breakfast room so it might still be very good then.

* We were in Ilhabela for a wedding party and 9AM (on a SUNDAY) on the day after the wedding, we were woken up by the staff for room service.

The hotel could do with some children indoor play area as well for the rainy days.

Without a car, you need to take the hourly bus, which is bumpy ride with loud music, or you can take a taxi.

We had a boat tour and when we can back, after a all day event, we could not get a fresh towel to enjoy the pool for the rest of the day.

There is a very nice natural water pool that forms from the rainwater that comes from a highland very close to the hotel.

At the back of the hotel are some natural pools and waterfalls which really adds to the ambience, and they're beautifully lit up at night.

Built as a Portuguese fort, it's fascinating how it's architecture cuts through natural rocks, making way to impressive staircases, corridors and a cute natural swimming pool, filled by water from the local waterfall.

Pools were great, very clean and right near the ocean.

The swimming pool in the sea, the waterfalls in the middle of the hotel, the German style of the castle, the wonderful manager Dona Ana are unforgettable.

The hotel has a swimming pool and sunbeds close to sea, which is hugely enjoyable.

The pool is really the best part of the hotel.

We were disturbed my the sound of a drill one morning as well due to the construction.

Noise-
This might be my biggest complaint.

The constant noise of the waterfall outside our window did not induce a quiet sleep.

I have read some comments about the "terrible" noise that the cascades made and I want you to be sure that this is not true, our room was very near to one of these cascades and the noise was at most like a distant rain which does not prevent you to sleep.

There is also a nice little restaurant nearby.

The center, with most restaurants, is a few km's further down the road.

The staff is kind and helpfull and the service of restaurant pretty good.

The room was neat, spacious and had two queen beds, a round table, two armchairs and a lot of space to store your belongings.

With that being said, they kept the construction to daylight hours so it didn't disrupt our sleep too much.

but they limit it to normal hours during the day so it does not interfere with sleep.

Also, we reached very late, around midnight, and the staff was kind enough to order for Pizzas from a nearby delivery so we dont sleep hungry.

Unfortunately I was told that from time to time guests complain about the moss that sticks to the bottom of the pool, therefore, SADLY I noticed the use of chemicals to clean the water.

There was some mold on the upper part of the walls and the toilet seat looked very dirty.

It is very sad to see that these chemicals will flow to the ocean afterwards.

but there are tall palm trees on the other side of the road obstructing a lot of the sea view.

We stayed in a standard room with a garden view and it was lovely.

Nestled in between the sea and a small hill, it has got some of the most helpful staff I have met in a long time.

We had sea view room and the view was just perfect.
