There was no construction noise nor party noises,

There was some outdoor construction going on at Hana,

We could have stayed somewhere else and returned after the construction was completed.

The only downside was the construction noise.

There was some construction being done in the late morning

The only big downside in June 2021 was the loud construction all day—our room had hammering and pounding on the wall pretty much every day during work hours, so when rain chased us from the pool and beach there wasn’t much relaxing.

Non-stop construction noise, sorghum everywhere, people reserving pool chairs with towels for hours, salesman near towel area, and very pedestrian food for a four star resort.

There is CONSTRUCTION and not much music.

Outside at the pool the entire day is construction noise.

For those of you wondering there is some construction happening at the resort

I'm sure the hotel has changed since Covid and maybe the construction is complete as well as better customer service.

The only construction going on was at the pool, as they are putting canopies over some of the seating area,

Most of it was under construction at the time.

but this construction was not on things damaged by hurricane.

The loud construction noise was starting to wear on me and it was less than 24 hours from the point of which we had checked in.

MARRIOTT if you are doing construction next door have people stay an another wing!!

Located in the Playa Delfines area, the resort is conveniently located near the airport and nearby plenty of good restaurants and things to do.

The Bellmen José, Hugo and Leo always had a big smile and handshake whenever they were around as you walked by.

If staying at this location, you MUST walk across the street and eat at Parole for some of the best food and service of your life.

The service is top notch from the moment we walk in!

They also assist with airport pickup, the R1 Bus is on the corner of the property so you don't have to walk far to move around.

As soon as we walked in to this grand lobby we were thoroughly impressed.

A must, walk across the street for sunset dinner at Fred’s seafood.

Visit the Mayan Museum (bus or 20 min walk) before chichin itza for a much better understanding of mayan history and culture.

With all that’s going on I appreciated that because I would always read the headlines on both channels walking thru.

Great benefit is being able to schedule a Covid  test at the JW Marriott, a short walk  via the connecting walkways.

It’s beautiful…just a few steps out and you have a full view of the ocean, day or night, and can even take a quiet walk right up to the beach.

Walking into the lobby that overlooks the pool and the ocean was a great introduction.

If you walk across the street from the hotel, and go left there is a testing area outside of a pharmacy about 3/4 of a mile away.

They will have to address that issue because we loved this hotel because of the large packed sand so you could walk forever.

but walked over to visit the spa after reading all the fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor.

We walked to the JW Marriott side and were actually happy that we were on the Marriott Cancun side instead.

You can walk across the bridge to the J W Marriott, and get your complimentary Covid test if you stay there  as either Marriott hotels three days or more.

The rooms were beautiful and the hotel when you walk in is WOW!

Literally the second you walk in the front doors, the Marriott Cancun Resort staff and procedures are making sure your stay is relaxing and safe.

but we took a bus to the public beach one day (Playa Delfines) and walked on the beach for an hour and jumped the waves. :)

The amenities, like the shampoo and soap, were really awful smelling and totally dried out our skin.

It has flaws such as the shower floor being slanted away from the drain which means water stands inside about 1" deep.

We visited the place at middle of November 2023 , we arrived late after 12h fly , there was one person at reception, waiting 40 min for check in, no one help as with the luggage, so we took it ourselves to the 1st floor ( we stayed in villa) , there was no food, drinks for us , everything was close and the sports bar was empty… The room was covered with mold, the smell was horrible.

Our initial suite/room was not ready at check-in time (3:00pm), quite probably someone was perfuming our room to kill the smoking odor last minute,

During the day it’s overpowering and during the evening can be heard even on 16th floor with the doors closed, in the buffet hall and foyer.

So imagine coming back to your room and the food from the night before and getting slapped with the smell.

That was 5 hours earlier- how had the staff not cleaned up vomit?

Amazing food and service all around, my only complaint would be the amount of cigarette smoking all around the property in indoor common and beach area.

but it’s cleared each morning and we didn’t see any rotting piles of it on the beach and no smell.

We also we had to take a shower with roaches because the water did not go down the drain, so we had roaches to swim around.

On our first night there the jacuzzi in the room wouldn't get hot and the water stunk so we didn't even use it.

He tries to make his way to the bed and is throwing up, dizzy, cross eyed, falling down, and having trouble breathing.

Rooms are damp and needed some TLC, we didn't use the spa bath as the fittings were very old and uninviting.

We Were told You cannot smoke on the secured side.

We had some pop up in the villas on our last couple days, smoking by the pool.

The Rui caribe next door, parties ALL day, you can hear the music, the promoters walk the beach encouraging guests to “come party”, is that not enough?!?

From the first minute we walked inside till we left, we can’t find anything to complain about.

We also had a walk down the the shop about 45 minutes walk into Cancun, Was a pleasant walk, We went into the RUI palace las America’s and had a drink in there, That is a nice hotel.

Fernando at the pool bar always had our Mojitos ready when he saw us walking up.

Next thing we know, Alex the bellhop, is walking towards us and approached us with open scissors asking to cut off our bracelets.

Things we did- We got the local bus outside of hotel to the CANCUN sign, we got the ferry to Isla Mujeres which was about $35 dollars each we really enjoyed this island we just walked around rather than the golf buggy.

It feels like luxury when you walk into the lobby and the pool areas.

Walked around so we knew where stuff was at.

The customer service was everything from when I walked in and until I left.

Especially, people working in the counter will show you the biggest smile when you first walking in to the place.

Luckily it's only a few minutes walk from there on the opposite side of the road (facing the police and fire station) and the lady we dealt with there was very helpful.

Bars were good and waiters walking around pool area were excellent.

The location is pretty good - not right in the heart and not too far to walk anywhere.

We crossed the street and walked down a ways and got on one of the red city buses.

From the moment you walk in the atmosphere is very zen.

My advise if you are vegetarian, will be to talk to the front of house instead of the runners as they will guide you through the menu, and also walk you through the buffet (if there is one), showing you first-hand what is vegetarian and what is not, which is really helpful.

Service was great, everyone who greeted me walking in was nice and helpful.

Staff very friendly from check in (Ida) until check out..lots of "good mornings" etc when you walked anywhere near an employee.

A few things that we like best: Short walk from the room to the beach with no stairs.

Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula

There’s construction on one side of the hotel,

major construction was happening Dec 10-17, 2022 when we were there, right next to us in B601, and that was a vacation destroyer.

Plus the building construction is pretty unsightly.

Now the paving slabs are being replaced and it is impossible to swim in the children's pool and the adjoining adult one, the dust from construction works flies in the face and water.

Still some construction going on for now, so that was our only "cleanliness" negative.

They were remodeling on side of the hotel

Hotel is under construction 24/7 Jack hammering around the pool.

Unfortunately we ended up in a construction place with loud people that couldn’t behave.

The Cons: as for now the hotel is undergoing reconstruction that creates some construction jobsite-like noise during week day time.

We also heard construction noises all through the night our first night there.

but part of it was also under construction.

Construction: Yes there’s construction going on, no it did not bother anyone as you can’t hear the noise and they’re done early, it will be out of your way. Promise.

CONSTRUCTION AT THE RESORT:

There is some construction currently being done.

What you don´t know is that once you arrive you find that they´re doing some construction right at from of the beach: so you´re trying to enjoy Caribbean sun with slap-hammer music and construction noise.

Construction at the establishment was only a slight distraction; to see continued investment makes me want to come back.

There was construction going on all day (except Sunday)

I assume the hotel will be bigger as there is a lot of construction and renovations going on.

You are 1-mile either by the sidewalk on the main road or down the beach to Playa Delfines beach which is a beautiful public beach.

12 pesos and you are 15 mins away from Playa delfines ( which has the CANCUN sign you'd wanna take pictures at), 15 mins from playa tortugo and playa lagosta- again beautiful beaches where someones always offering you to buy drinks or food.

The hotel is located 25 minutes walk to Playa Delfines and El Rey Ruins (worth visiting) and a minute away from the Mayan Museum.

Too much security walking around, looking at you like you are criminals when you are on holidays.

Loved staying here, lovely hotel and amenities, and easy to walk to other destinations from here.

The girl at check in assigned us a room that hadn’t been cleaned so they rushed to clean it in 10 minutes, which was clear in the room we walked into E212.

but you must book the restaurants on the day if you’d like to eat in the evening, as an alternative, they have a buffet you can just walk in and help yourself!

They are quick and Carlos Dzul was a wonderful crew member who welcomed us with his kindness and energy everyday we walked in to eat.

however, be careful when you walk around the floor gets super slippery.

It was quiet in the room, with working aircon, a safe, ironing board, balcony, walk in shower, etc.

Javier was Excellent and attentive he held my bags while I arriving early, left and came back and then he walked me to my room and showed me all the amenities in person, a little tour and walked me outside to the bar for my Margarita❤

The service from the second we walked in was out of this world, so attentive!

Big tip, walk down the driveway and take the bus it’s only 11 pesos each way way cheaper than a taxi plenty of restaurants down the street.

There is a convenience store on sight (24hrs) and a short walk will take you to other convenient stores and the bus.

The resort was great for location, able to travel easily to Plaza de Isla, or walk for dinner.

Coming back to the housekeeping you would think that if the bar is near a pool area where people sometimes walk around barefoot that glass isn’t really healthy, well we saw big junks of glass lying in the same spot for more than a day.

Our room was huge, kingsize bed with a view we could get used to when walking up.

After walking along the beach in both directions, I can safely say that they do the best job cleaning up seaweed and raking the sand so that it's smooth and clean.

You can walk for miles on the beach - going south and north.

We stayed on the first floor and could walk right off our patio to the pool.

though we were all inclusive was checking in and signing: "Sign Lady" was what I heard if I walked away after my meal, a drink, a snack.

Emporio Cancun

It’s dark gloomy and full of mosquitos and bugs.

Large rooms with kitchenette - a bit dark

A variety of resident birds sing and call from dawn until dusk, leaf cutter ants can be seen doing their thing, and if you watch closely after dark you can see bats swooping down for a quick drink from the pool and small opossums going about their business.

but the one I was given was too dark and I prefer the views of the amazing plants from the rooms higher up.

It is well lit at night so if you are one who likes a dark bedroom like me I suggest you travel with a sleep mask.

but if you have significant luggage and want to avoid crossing traffic especially after dark, make it easy on yourself and take a taxi for just 40 pesos (less than $4).

Although some might think our room to be dark, I regarded it as a respite from the bright sun.

Our room was VERY dark we found this quite depressing, we ended up spending a lot of time in it due to rain (No fault of hotel)
I also couldn't understand why you had a 2 ring cooker

One and only minus: our room was a bit dark.

but it's not excessive, and the road it's on pretty much doesn't get much traffic after dark (a side road just off of the main Tulum Blvd.).

When we checked in I was immediately struck by how dark our room was.

though spacious, was very dark, even with all the lights on.

I recommend Playa Delfines if you do go to the beach.

but a little musty smelling so I was thrilled to find out that that TV did not work as then they moved us to a room which was slightly simpler but did not smell of moisture at all and was absolutely perfect.

I guess the damp smell goes with the jungle theme.

Because of the open courtyard design, water got all over the tile and could give someone a nasty fall.

It smelled bad and after only one night everything smelled just as damp as the room.

but only use the shower next too the swimming pool (small, stinking toilet as it is in a toilet).As confirmed by her, Claudia should take care of a package for us coming from Playa Del Carmen via DHL - office of DHL is next to the hotel where the package was at my disposal but as Claudia didn't make the necessary (i needed her spannish skills) the package left in a truck for delivery the afternoon but we had to leave at 2.15pm for the airport.

I did not find this created any unfortunate odours at all.

What let it down is the pervading smell of damp in the bedroom, I think the air con was set so low it would not get rid of it, we did manage to turn this up, had to remove the control from the wall to use it properly.

The room had a damp smell, a non-working AC and the toilet seemed to leak water on the bathroom floor.

I didn't like them smoking just outside the restaurant,  should be NON Smoking in all areas.

), and the rooms smell musty when you first enter.

Although the bathroom didn't have a window and hence there was a musty smell, that you get in humid countries.

I had no air all night, hardly slept, and had trouble breathing as I had contracted a bad chest infection.

Basically the hotel smells like a cesspit as a result of these "fancy" toilets they have installed.

My room (No 25) smelt damp when I first went in there.

It also smelt a little musty when we entered and the windows were sealed so we relied on the A/C to improve the ambiance.

but you are only a short walk from many restaurants, bars, and traditional markets.

Lots of places to walk to that are safe close by,

Walking distance to a number of local restaurants and Mercado 28 (15 minute walk).

When we walked in, it like walking into an oasis, lush with green plants and relaxing sounds.

The hotel is a 5 min walk to the ADO bus station so very convenient if it's your first / last night in cancun!

We recently stayed at this fabulous hotel for almost 3 weeks - while our son was in the hospital (ICU) over the road 
The location was fantastic - with no more than a 5-10 minute walk to a huge selection of restaurants, a supermarket and markets 
Yet once you were back in the beautiful garden area surrounding the pool you were back in a relaxing paradise 
The staff were all gorgeous friendly and caring people 
If you want a taste of true Mexican hospitality, with beautiful surroundings - at a great price - forget the resort area and stay here

We spent two very pleasant nights and it's also close to the bus station - a few minutes walk or a $3 taxi ride.

You can walk to a number of neat local restaurants and a grocery store, or take a public bus to the beach (and hotel zone) for only 60 cents each way.

although you need to cross a busy street with no nearby cross walks, hotel is open in middle and that area has lots of trees and is quite attractive.

The hotel is a five minute walk to the central bus station and a big supermarket.

It is a short walk from the the El Centro bus station,

It’s an easy walk to good restaurants and shopping.

we took the ADO bus from the Airport right to the bus station which is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel (but be careful crossing the roads and be prepared for uneven sidewalks).

we were close the the bus station and rode down the Hotel Zone to the beaches in a half an hour to the farthest beach, Delphine beach, where we spent one whole day on the white sands watching the amazing waves and the surfers.There were many great restaurants a few minutes walk from the hotel and we ate out every
night and not once were we disappointed with the food.

Easy commute from the airport: we took the ADO bus from the airport terminal and then walked for about 6-7 minutes.

I was meeting my friend here before we left for Chichen Itza so perfect for location as only a 10 minute walk to the ADO bus station.

There is a 24 hr chemist and doctor across the road 1 min walk away and restaurants of great caliber walking distance that are local and yummy . Enjoy

You walk off the street into a hotel surrounded by gardens..so peaceful and relaxing.

Eco-Hotel El Rey Del Caribe

The toilet in our room didn’t flush properly, the electric sockets were loose causing a health and safety hazard.

Siaan Khaan Master suite leaked dirty water from the celling by the AC vendor for days before they came and patch that up.

There were roaches everywhere and black mold all over my bathroom. 2.

The a/c was so bad that it was leaking and dripping water from the vent causing a wet mess on the floor.

but the two bathrooms were extremely dated--not at all what you see in the pictures.

On the last night there was a huge cockroach in the bathroom.

The water in a shower was hard to manage the temperature (either super hot or cold) not warm!

I refused to get on the shower for fear of contracting a disease.

Plus there are not enough bathrooms for the amount of people so they would get messy.

The bathroom is soo old and there is mildew , mold buildup on the shower head, the head board and room colorful pillows stink so bad of mildew.

Public Bathrooms near the poor were wet and not maintained enough.

however part of the bathroom wall was floor to ceiling glass so if someone used the bathroom at night and turned the light on it would again wake everyone up.

The maintenance of the room is minimal, especially in the bathroom, the shower is broken, the water comes out of the shower and sink faucets, so there is water everywhere.

Shower was unpredictable hot/cold kept changing and the maids were not that attentive unless you left a tip of course.

The bathrooms are also old, and need updating.

My wife used a face flannel to wipe the tiles down in the shower and the  flannel was so filthy.

Our first room had plumbing issues leaving the bathroom out of service.

I did have the chance to go to Playa Delfines and take a picture next to the Cancun sign, and go to the luxury mall and La Isla Cancun.

Not bad… just very noisy in front of the Beach Club and no bar service.

The noise from events did not impact my sleep and I am a light sleeper.

Lots of drunk buddies in the pool (noisy and unpleasant).

Lastly the 3 am wake up call by a DRUNK guest trying to get in the room screaming about how they were locked out was a bit ridicuious, as was the noise and echos through out the Pyramid that resonated into the rooms.

but if you walk to the other side you cannot hear the loud music and can enjoy relaxation, if needed.

In one sense the hotel lobby is stunning and in another it allows noise to travel all around the hotel so if you have a drunk group being loud it tends to wake the whole hotel up as you have no corridors to block the noise.

but be aware that it is very loud at night (esp during spring break) as doors close and the sounds carry/echo.

but every night they had parties, they came from the disco or the bar, and they spent their time yelling in the lobby and knocking on the doors of the rooms to waking up guests, there was not a night that those of us who were not part of the Spring break were not disturbed, I never thought they would put most of these people in there and many of them were not yet of legal age.

We were at the quite end of the complex, Seaview, bloc 3, best place to be, where's others were at the noisy end which was quite loud in the evenings which will suit the teenagers.

The noise of people in atrium, such as shouting is echoed throughout hotel.

The crowd was mixed with young people, kids and elderly

but we heard a muffled voice behind us, we couldn't hear what she said as she had a face mask on which then my partner had said 'i'm sorry i cant hear you, what did you say?'

but believe me I’ve never stayed anywhere so disgusting and hideous it’s awful really awful ,,, thought I’d stayed in bad hotels before this takes top place for horrendous e perince all cocktails come out of bags and cockroaches are deep fried for free

The corridors had a very annoying Christmasy music playlist, playing 24/7 - that at night, was disturbing.

The only other concern would be the amount of noise.

A dude on stage with a microphone leading an a**-shaking competition shouting “who wants to get f’d up” while pouring liquor down the throats of people in a conga-line to the chants of "shots, shots, shots" is not going to be confused for a Four Seasons.
