We had a fab sea view room number 8319 👍 we tried all eating places within the hotel - RUBBISH.

He was super helpful and companionate and managed to get us 2 rooms for $600 less than what I paid for 1 room with Hotels.com.

The rooms are maintained very clean and the fridge is well-stocked.

The hotel was very well presented and clean, fixtures and fittings weren’t totally perfect (slightly wonky toilet in one room and gurgly plumbing in the kids room when you flushed the toilet)

The entertainment team in the day are excellent the rooms are great too.

All the rooms seem to have an ocean view, as the hotel design is very clever, in a U.

The room was clean and well stocked with great views, and the bed was comfy.

The room was lovely and big with a huge balcony

All rooms are sea view rooms, we had a room overlooking the lagoon and the sea which was great.

Rooms are perfectly clean and furnished very nice with warm colors.

Our room was beautiful and the ocean view did not  disappoint!

Our three couples were celebrating milestone anniversaries and we were thrilled to have rooms on the sixth floor with each room having a gorgeous ocean view.

We also had a room switch during the trip which was nice and the breakfast buffet never disappointed.

Our fridge was stocked well and the room cleaned daily.

3 places to smoke, if your a smoker  which are not adequate for hotel this size.

The middle pool is a pool bar where people were just drinking until they couldn't stand up, smoking in the pool, and we even saw someone taking substances.

If you’re a smoker, I would strongly advise against this hotel.

Another one boiled shrimp not cleaned black line. Disgusting

Our room did smell of sulphur on occasions and the fan does make a noise which you can't switch off so some light sleepers may struggle.

There are staff raking that up each morning and it’s nothing like smelly seaweed and didn’t deter anyone swimming in the sea.

First off the rooms had a horrible mold/mildew smell that was making me feel sick, our rooms were NEVER cleaned unless we requested on the app and even so no fresh towels brought / toilet paper refills.

Areas for improvement: 
We saw many people smoking throughout the resort in undesignated areas, which we found very annoying.

The rooms were a bit dated and the bathrooms could have been cleaner, there was black mold in ours.

Day we checked in, the room had pillows and bed that were giving off a stinking smell, same with curtains

but of course people had to ruin it by leaving their garbage behind, we found broken glass, straws and cigarettes :/ Food was very poor, only friuts and vegetables were great also staff was very helpfull and nice.

even though u tell them constantly you don’t smoke not a very good way to welcome holiday makers absolutely disgraceful behaviour

No air in room bathrooms, insufficient room lighting, red stained mirrors, pee on the side of the toilets.

Our friends had trouble with electrics on floor 9, blowing lights, hair dryers ect…fuse box looked old and looked like required maintenance, this happened after rain, so probably water in the electrics, they had to sleep with no lights or electric, with a smell of burning, was not resolved until next day, their last day.

Everybody smokes, everybody is loud and inconsiderate of others having a relaxing time.

Glad my two days in Riu Caribe I spent them at Xcaret & Xel-Ha.

Took one excursion from TUI to XEL-HA and that is it 5 of 5

I could go on , we had a great time everyone’s experience is different .

but still want a good day out you NEED to go to Xel-Ha, this place is out of this world!

While we were there we went on a lot of excursions including Xel-Ha and Xplor which we booked ourselves through the Xcaret website before going, and a few excursions through Thomson while we were there including the catamaran trip to Dolphin Discovery where we swam with dolphins, nurse sharks and fed the manatees and a trip to Garrafon Park, and Chichen Itza.

You can also book all excursions at hotel, we only booked coco bongos through arturo the rep and booked xel ha with a place on the strip.

There was no construction noise nor party noises,

There was some outdoor construction going on at Hana,

We could have stayed somewhere else and returned after the construction was completed.

The only downside was the construction noise.

There was some construction being done in the late morning

The only big downside in June 2021 was the loud construction all day—our room had hammering and pounding on the wall pretty much every day during work hours, so when rain chased us from the pool and beach there wasn’t much relaxing.

Non-stop construction noise, sorghum everywhere, people reserving pool chairs with towels for hours, salesman near towel area, and very pedestrian food for a four star resort.

There is CONSTRUCTION and not much music.

Outside at the pool the entire day is construction noise.

For those of you wondering there is some construction happening at the resort

I'm sure the hotel has changed since Covid and maybe the construction is complete as well as better customer service.

The only construction going on was at the pool, as they are putting canopies over some of the seating area,

Most of it was under construction at the time.

but this construction was not on things damaged by hurricane.

The loud construction noise was starting to wear on me and it was less than 24 hours from the point of which we had checked in.

MARRIOTT if you are doing construction next door have people stay an another wing!!

I recommend you get a room facing the water.

The room was clean and large, they don't have sleepers or vanity kit anymore ☹️
Overall,  it's a good hotel, 

We did get upgraded to a ocean front room which was fantastic and if you have the opportunity i would definitely suggest the oceanfront rooms.

From the moment we arrived, from Eduardo welcoming us taking our bags to Erick at the front desk making sure we had a beautiful room, we were thrilled with our stay at the Marriott.

Otherwise I thought the room was good and all the workers were pleasant and helpful.

I immediately used the chat feature in the app to indicate the room was incorrect.

Despite in hand guaranteed  in writing ocean front booking,upon arrival rhey said I booked an ocean view room and no ocean front room was available…shortly thereafter we discovered the entire hotel was booked by a corporation,honoring its employees…that corporation covered  its employees room,board,booze,entertainment and they were reasonably well behaved

Great views from the room, we got ocean view room.

They accommodated us with ocean front rooms and impecable service.

Upon entering my room, I was in aw and felt immediately blessed.

The rooms  are clean and spacious and the pool is a good size with ample chairs.

We visit Tulum, XCaret, Xel-Ha, Chichen Itza, and take the ferry to Isla Mujeres when we visit in addition to driving to several restaurants in the area.

Also a day trip to Xel-ha for a full day.

One, Chichen Itza, filled with so much history and culture and then Xel-Ha filled with natural beauty.

There’s construction on one side of the hotel,

major construction was happening Dec 10-17, 2022 when we were there, right next to us in B601, and that was a vacation destroyer.

Plus the building construction is pretty unsightly.

Now the paving slabs are being replaced and it is impossible to swim in the children's pool and the adjoining adult one, the dust from construction works flies in the face and water.

Still some construction going on for now, so that was our only "cleanliness" negative.

They were remodeling on side of the hotel

Hotel is under construction 24/7 Jack hammering around the pool.

Unfortunately we ended up in a construction place with loud people that couldn’t behave.

The Cons: as for now the hotel is undergoing reconstruction that creates some construction jobsite-like noise during week day time.

We also heard construction noises all through the night our first night there.

but part of it was also under construction.

Construction: Yes there’s construction going on, no it did not bother anyone as you can’t hear the noise and they’re done early, it will be out of your way. Promise.

CONSTRUCTION AT THE RESORT:

There is some construction currently being done.

What you don´t know is that once you arrive you find that they´re doing some construction right at from of the beach: so you´re trying to enjoy Caribbean sun with slap-hammer music and construction noise.

Construction at the establishment was only a slight distraction; to see continued investment makes me want to come back.

There was construction going on all day (except Sunday)

I assume the hotel will be bigger as there is a lot of construction and renovations going on.

Clean, cool and updated rooms, balcony was great we ate breakfast and played games at night overlooking the lagoon.

The registration went smoothly and off we went to a beautiful room (C605).

The room was a decent size for four of us.

Cancún beach was literally few steps from the hotel room.

And the gentleman servicing our room Leo did such a good job and ensured we had plenty of what we really like - coffee 🥰 
Even when by the pool waiters kept the Mojitos coming.

They came and made the beds everyday and the room is beautiful.

Mini bar in room empty and they wont fill it even its all inclusive.

Also, the view from the rooms to the sea is beautiful.

The electricity in the room only on the first day, went off 3 times and kept us in complete darkness for 30 secs to upto 10 mins.

I have travelled to many resorts offered through RCI this is one of the nicest, modern spacious clean and comfortable rooms we have had on over 30 years.

however hotel room was the best I had in all of my time in Mexico.

We had an ocean view deluxe room which was  extremely clean, well equipped with spectacular views overlooking the pool area, beach and the ocean.

We selected the swimout room all inclusive package.

- Room service - food delivered to our room was excellent and beyond our expectations.

We did Xel-Ha, catamaran to Isla Mujeres and captain Hook.

Close enough to to Cancun areas and driving distance (1 hour approximately) to all the Parks and Attactions (Xplor, Xel-Ha, Xcaret, etc).

Great location and place to stay if you want to go and visit the big Xcaret, Xel ha and Xenses parks.

Emporio Cancun

Room was clean and spacious with a small balcony and daily restocked minibar with beer and soft drinks.

Spa- Excellent ambience, relaxing and very friendly staff 
Food- all five restaurants are nice, good options for varied cuisine 
Room service- could be better, sometimes the response is excellent

I went to reception and all they would do is offer us a room upgrade with a cost of just under £300.

Everything was close to the rooms and the ocean was right there.

The rooms are well appointed and have everything you may need a minibar.

Check in was smooth and our luggage was taken to our room.

My room was thoroughly cleaned everyday, the staff were very patient with me (non spanish speaker), very friendly.

but the room was  very clean and maintained well.

Absolutely amazing time the staff are so friendly , the room was beautiful and the food everyday was amazing will definitely return again.

Overall I had a great experience the only concern I did have was my room was left open on one occasion when I had been out all day.

Saying this the room is very clean.

Rooms were clean, the beach was white sand and ocean so clear.

The room and mini bar were cleaned and replenished each day.

She also sent a birthday cake to our room for my partner's birthday celebration.

The rooms are clean and would say it looked like the pictures so can’t complain and the staff were very friendly.

If recommend reserving a seat at the pool a day in advance because people leave there towels and never come back.

One of the things did not work as well as most times there was no paper towels or toilet paper.

at this time we did also notice people had already places towels on sunbeds at the pool, which was very cringey and not what I expected.

Sometimes dirty towels were left, sometimes only one towel left, bathmat not always replaced.

The other con is they have signs telling people reserving chairs with towels isn't allowed,

Apparently, if you'd like to have a chair to sit on in the pool or beach area, you have to get up early and stake your claim with towels and other belongings.

People go early in the morning and put their towels down to reserve chairs that they sometimes don't use until the afternoon.

His judgment was very poor because I left the first chair totally open, and I got the hotel towel with me to the new chair which meant I chose one station.

We had to make requests for clean towels , toilet paper and only received face cloths on our first day.

We did not complain about this we just made up the room our Selves and requested clean towels etc.

Run down, for example bath towels were all shredded at ends, and just worn out.

I was unsure so I used my beach towel from my suitcase.

They wouldn’t bring new towels to the room they refolded the same dirty towels every day and we had to call down for new ones.

The 3rd day we did not get towels when they cleaned our room and had to keep calling.

Next we had issues with no towels being left in our room and our bed sheets not being changed at all during our stay, I spilt a drink on one of our beds and the stain stayed there our whole stay.

You were only allowed one towel per person, and had to surrender your "towel card " each time you obtained a towel.

(While i was there, four women from England would come down and lay towels out super early and then claim the only umbrellas for themselves-for days.)

Then, there was a gap under the shower door so the water would all leak out into the bathroom from the shower, taking at least two towels to soak up afterward.

We were unsure whether to book Xel-ha or Xcaret as an activity away.

The stagnant water would drip down from the corrugated roof down to the fruit garnish, and work surfaces.

We hope they can fix the sewer smell in the bathroom, other than that it was a great stay. :—————————————————-

Yes- some of the rooms need the odd maintenance job completing such as bathroom door locks not working or batteries dead in the safe-

The bed sheets wasn't changed for the whole two weeks we stayed, we had to get our own towels & toilet rolls,it took two of us to open & close these patio doors!

This issue was never addressed as well, and we had to essentially push the ceiling up every time we entered or exited the bathroom.

Our bathroom was dirty, there was mold around the toilet and around the shower.

Mould in bathroom, patio door wouldn’t close never mind lock, fridge broken, leaking air con unit so water over the floor (dangerous).

Shower water temperature changes from really hot to really cold atleast a few times while taking a shower.

When I got my room, the toilet was dirty and used.I will attach picture of it.

There are water and ice despensers for water (would have saved me money on my first night if someone had said), there are no showers other than those on the beach to use upon check-out & the bars stop serving drinks when they feel like it.

On a different day out soaps & towels were replenished while there was a DND sign.

but the staff (despite viewing the room and agreeing with us) did not seem willing to move us and we did not want to be in a room with mould due to existing health conditions.

After many complaints the toilet would still not flush.

The bathroom floor was wet when we went in and the bathtub and the sink are not clean well.

Shower was slow draining reported to reception and nothing was don

-You can just plug in 1 device in the whole room (another one in the bathroom).

Unfortunately my mother became ill overnight (nothing to do with the hotel or its amenities) so our first full morning at the hotel was rather a panic as a doctor was needed.

The hotel facilities I would say were basic, shower was liking a bit.

there was mold in the bathroom underneath the sink on the walls.

Don’t bother with a swim up room as they’re mostly in the shade.

Hotel is nice looks lovely feels lovely rooms are nice beds are comfy.

There is also tea & coffee facilities in the room too.

The swim up room was total bliss, very comfortable and such luxury to have pool access from the room.

The hotel itself is good, the room is clean and spacious.

The room we stayed in had its own Concierge, Julio, and he was very helpful in making reservations for us and answering any questions we might have.

Part One.About the hotel.Amazing location in the hotel zone cancun, At the at the rear of the hotel is a  wonderful quiet strech of beach at the front you are a few yards from a bus stop that will take up and down the zone for a mear 12 pesos, a lovely ala carte restuarant yards from the beach,two pools one with little bridges that u can swim under with a swim up pool bar and you can swim late in the evening witch is nice under the lights.the other pool has a pizza cafe and bar,the rooms are basic

Thankfully the bellman was still in the room and he was able to call maintenance for us to instal the second security lock on the door
- There was a small selection of food options at the buffet.

This was dealt with by Nancy on the front desk who was incredibly helpful and our room switch went smoothly.

I ended up loving my room so much and the view is so amazing.

but we were on the 3rd floor so we were fine with that and there was a safe and aircon in the room.

My partner and i are sorry to be leaving just had a great 2 week stay at flamingo resort cancun 
Pros 
Room was fantastic with stunning ocean view and super comfy bed the colours of the ocean and clean sand weather was decent an average of 32 degrees few storms and overcast days

Had a great stay at the flamingo resort, room was lovely and had very good service in Albatros from Isai who is very helpful and lupei.

You really do have to go out onto the street - a lot of unhappy smokers.

And who knows how much urine must had been in there. 5.

So all in all weekends are one big party with drinking and smoking ALL night long and weekdays are kids in the pool screaming and throwing water on you when your sun bathing then laughing and running away.

Imagine the smell it caused the room to have.

Oh no smoking policy by the beach or by the pool.

When we walked into our room we can smell the mold immediately.

Room disgusting,  need refreshments, even been clean , feels like still dirty.

Well the rooms are nice the staff are nice if you tip them 

No bars on beach no smoking on beach 

Food is very poor

The beach views are very nice makes up for the bad points 

Transfer from air port to hotel via Tui Was worse than poor I complained to head office

A smell was coming from the drains, so we covered all the drains with wet towels.

The bathroom sink appears to have someone else’s DNA in it and the tiled floor is way too dirty to walk on without shoes, did I mention it stinks?
