Great service amazing food Diego was our server and he was excellent, 
Children were served first which was great as they weren’t waiting to long for their food, always asking if we wanted more refreshments couldn’t ask more

Also, the amenities for the children ages 3-10 were great: i.e.

The amount of activity for children was a plus!

The pools are excellent with great water parks for the kids.

Kids activities were great, beach well maintained.

My daughter loves the braids she got on the beach.

I spent time with my little niece dancing to the music on the family side in the evening and we had a lot of fun- great DJ, Karaoke, and games for the kids.

The kids club was great and our grand kids really enjoyed it.

Hence, once you arrive many slots are already taken and if you're with young kids eating dinner at 7:30pm or later is a less enticing option to say the least.

We are a family of 4 that travelled with our kids ages 4 and 7.

In the last few days he left the kids with some surprises that made them happy.

He was very attentive and very kind to our children.

We were at the hotel the year was inaugurated -11 years ago-, came back with children and grandchildren much older.

I have stayed in Riu’s in my late teens which are better than this. Shocking!!

so you NEVER have to worry that your kids will be picky / fussy, etc.

Paradisus in Playa del Carmen was amazing!!

Location is perfect a 10 min $35 taxi ride to Playa del Carmen.

We travelled to Paradisus Playa Del Carmen at the end of November / 2023.

My Mother and I enjoyed our 5 day/4 night vacation at  Paradisus Playa del Carmen.

This was our second visit to Paradisus Playa Del Carmen and highly recommend this resort.

We were able to arrange a taxi into Playa Del Carmen one day - it was 40US each way, and we were able to arrange a meeting time with our driver to take us back to the hotel.

We got a great time at Paradissus Playa del Carmen, our concierge Cynthia Delgado and Erik Flores from Nike did an awesome job and spoiled our kids with the everyday surprises, and the tour at the cenotes was so much fun highly recommend.

You had attendants selling you insanely overpriced excursions and spa services.

Needed medication and was a total rip off in shops.

* no room at the kids club (again, unless you are there 15 minutes before they open at 9am, and they never actually opened at 9am so in reality my husband had to stand in line for at least 25 minutes every morning to secure a service which we actually paid for.

I didn't notice the overcharge, though, until I returned and checked our charges against our contract rates.

The nappies and ear drops cost me 60usd and they added a 20% charge to help us with this!

We tried BOTH of their house RED wines as the first one was very sweet, and the second one still was rather sweet for our liking, so that is literally my only consideration to provide - is whether the hotel can swap one of the house red wines for a dryer one, otherwise you can absolutely pay out of pocket to upgrade!

2 tomahawks and 2 sides for a part of 7 came out to $75 USD.

Then you could get a family padded pool side bed or you could rent a cabana for the day (we didn't opt for that it was quite expensive).

but then they retracted that offer and said we’d have to pay for the nanny.

Sun shirts, anything you may have forgotten to pack, will cost you dearly.

Only concern is to be sure you bring everything you need as everything extra at the resort is 5X - 10X regular prices.

However, everything else was just so underwhelming for the money that we paid.

to the point they consider us VIP without being part of their fishy/scam timeshare, Don't take the presentation, avoid at all cost (i know why).

On the last evening, expensive sunglasses disappeared from the room.

but I’m not sure it’s worth a Premium price anymore since they reduce the number of perks, including very meager snacks in they reserve lounge and eliminating the reserve-only pool and restaurant.

I just ordered a few bottles of sparkling wine from the resort and took them on the truck as the champagne prices at the airport are out of control.

The shop was very expensive (a bar of chocolate cost £10)!

We upgraded to a swim-up room and didn’t regret it.

Beautifully designed and the rooms were clean, big and well appointed.

The folks who cleaned the rooms did a great job, especially given how much sand we dragged back from the beach.

We stayed in a basic room, and it had everything we needed.

Thankfully the room and sheets are unscented!

Huge pullout couch with more than enough room for two kids and two twin beds in the bedroom.

All the rooms face the pool and the ocean is a long walk away.

The room size was amazing and even had a large dining table and kitchenette.

The rooms are nice enough, the food is decent, the beach is OK, etc.

Perfect if your visiting with children

Negatives- 

As it was my birthday the company I work for arranged for 2 bottles of champagne and cake to be delivered to my room, this never arrived.

We stayed on the family side in a garden room - totally fine and honestly no need to upgrade.

Staff did a wonderful job cleaning our room every day.

He also set up treasure hunts with presents and surprises in our room for the kids.

The rooms were well maintained and clean.

It’s easy to walk and access every area no matter what room you’re in.

We absolutely loved the resort, we had some problems with our room and ended up with damp bedding and clothing for the whole trip.

No massive chlorine smell after swimming.

The only issues was the Coati which are all over the resort and like to climb up on the patios and poop.

My little girl was in her last nappy (which she had soiled herself in) and I took her to reception to see if they could charge my room for cash so I could purchase nappies, I literally had to beg them in tears for about half an hour as their response was ‘there was nothing they could do as it was against company policy to give cash to guests’.

It was only open 12pm-6pm, which was clearly a cost saving measure, as it would be bombarded by guests after dinner everywhere, because the ice cream at the buffets was always freezer burned grocery store ice cream.

In the past this hotel used to smell like a Spa all day long

The second day, they decided to paint directly next to our room and filled our room with paint fumes while our 3yr old son was napping.

Also, the fan in the hibachi area broke and the entire place was filled with smoke.

There is a disgusting smell at the bridge to the beach from the manglares.

First sewage drainage problem, second no shower, 3rd dirty water leaked through ceiling 3 nights running despite reassurances from services that it was fixed !

The pools are filthy and the furniture is old and dirty.

We made our way over and we’re told they had to dry off more bc one of my sons had damp hair.

The shower water smells so bad my 8 year old has a hard time not gagging the whole time.

Also the terrible stench of the seaweed was pretty revolting when the wind would carry it over the beach.

Showers did not smell good, and food was not very good.

Gross food,watered  down drinks..roaches & other bugs, dirty sheets, dirty sock left from previous stay.

The bed skirt (on the ONE bed) is filthy.

Most of the staff is rude, the food is disgusting - if you don’t make reservations for dinner at the one reservation desk in advance (can’t be done online or anywhere at the property

but not in a rush and wait till the little man is bigger

these fluffy little f@&kers are a nightmare, if you take a bag to pool with food they will take the bag deep into the bush, if you have a cabana hang the bag from the beam or tie it to the post so the cant run off with it, anything that smells like food will be gone, these things are eating super hot cheetos nothing is off limits!

Easy walk to the beach sunbeds and cabanas and it was right next to a public beach area that had a super nice spot for kids to swim in- extra bonus.

We had an great experience overall in a Nikte Swim Up suite.

We got the Nikte package with a swim up room and it was perfect for our family.

The beach was sooo nice, it was clean and they had roped off areas that were safe to swim in.

The main pool, right beside the pirate pool was never crowded and had great swim up bar.

but Francisco Arriagade - a server with Celsius as well as Angeles - the bartender at the swim up bar - went above and beyond with their service.

Lots of things to swim to and hold on to.

•	Pirate Pool – kids loved this more than the water park and it was easier to let them swim there and have our eyes on them at all times.

Def glad I didn’t pay extra for the swim out rooms as most were connected to the main pool and my kids didn’t spend any time in it bc it was the coldest of all options.

Me and my wife stayed in the reserve swim up room and were super happy with our choice to come here it’s a very high end feeling here!

The kids loved all the different places to swim like the water park, kids pool, other pools, and the beach.

Make sure to upgrade to the Nikte swim-up suite and go on the Cenote experience. We loved having a personal concierge (yay Eduardo!)

We booked the Nikte Master Suite and then negotiated an upgrade to the Nikte Master Suite Swim out.

although we didn’t use the swim up as much as I thought, it was still such a fun addition.

We stayed at one of the swim up rooms with the reserve upgrade.

We chose a Nikte swim-up room and you won't be sorry.

For the kids’ water activities: there was a huge pirate ship pool in the middle of the resort rooms which was fun AND there’s a whole separate “water zone” area where there were big slides and a little toddler water park area too.

It was wonderful experience at Cenote Spa.

I love the CENOTE SPA and more the gym, the manager Carlos is always helping out with everything!

We also did a spa buyout for our event and the spa manager, Damariz took care of all details and supported our requests for creative spa offerings like a sound bath in their Cenote spa.

Very kind and soft-spoken, Armando was my randomly selected male masseuse at the Cenote Spa.

Nice relaxing massage and beautiful cenote spa.

The yoga class with Carlos was amazing, great well led class with adjustments and relaxing music at cenote spa, gym is well equipped and great also :-)  I would definitely recommend the spa, gym and yoga classes at Hyatt Grand !

My wife and I visited the Cenote Spa while staying at the Grand Hyatt in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and the experience was magical to say the least.

My boyfriend nd I signed up for one of the yoga classes held in the beautiful Cenote Spa.

I sat ocean side on the deck for most of the day and also received a massage from the beautiful Cenote spa.

My wife and I enjoyed our couples massage at the Cenote Spa.

Cenote Spa - Exceptional design with a relaxing cenote, amazing selection of treatments and excellent therapists.

Samuel at Cenote Spa provided a wonderful massage.

The spa is clean and cenote spa especially very atmospheric.

Cenote Spa was so wonderful and relaxing.

I just had the best and most relaxing massage and experience at the Cenote Spa with Erika.

The massages at cenote spa are hands down the best I’ve ever had.

The check in on NYE: it was a major disappointment after 12 hours of travel to arrive on NYE to the hotel being closed down, sectioned off, no entry for a NYE party that was “sold out”.

The biggest surprise was the “day club” which pumped very loud techno and hip hop from 12-7 Wed-Sun 

If you happen to get a room or even worse an executive suite on that side of the property - forget about those afternoon naps.

We had a blast doing the dance class and playing games with Mike and others from the entertainment team!

We stayed on the east side of the hotel which is close to Mamitas Beach Club, a club atmosphere that plays loud music all day and most of the night.

A room was next to the  presidential suite with loud noises for the first 3 nights, someone was knocking on the door In The middle of the night, very alarming.

There is no place to lay or play in the sand.

However, the beach area is very small with no seating, the next door beach club was extremely loud making it difficult to read or relax by the pool, and the pillows were very small and uncomfortable.

My only criticism is if you sit in the pool area on the left of the hotel as you look at the sea (and also directly below our room) is they play very loud bassy music all afternoon which gets rather tedious.

My now husband and I hosted our recent wedding at the Grand Hyatt-Playa Del Carmen 4/28/23!

We could hear drunk people shouting, singing, fighting, screaming swear words in other rooms at all hours of the night.

HOWEVER, I hope you enjoy loud club music from the kids partying in the club next door most afternoons.

The hotel is very spread out so there’s lots of walking and the independent beach club next door is very loud at times from 11am to 7pm.

but when you're trying to enjoy the view from the balcony, it's just too loud.

Ateret tour- tour guide was very average, difficult to understand and did not give a lot of information.

but might not, due to loud music from beach club all day long.

This afternoon we wanted to play cards and as most of the seating is outside & windy we sat in the Cocina Restaurant where we were completely ignored for 2 hours.

The music at the Hyatt hotel beach club is unbelievably loud.

Shout out to Mike and Alex hosting several activities throughout the day.

We had been at the  Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen in September 2022 and loved our time there.

Cancun, Tulum, Playa Mujeres, Playa Del Carmen all have their resorts in the Mexican Caribbean.

There are a number of real positive points in the hotel's favor:

- Great location in Playa del Carmen, close to many restaurants, bars, shopping, in a nicer part of the town.

This is our 3rd year staying at the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen, and we were fortunate enough to have met Jerry a  year ago.

The absolute best part of this property is the location and proximity to the “very walkable” Playa Del Carmen city center.

The Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen was on point with it luxurious setting right on the beach.

You get to see the city of Playa del Carmen, and Mike pointed out the best taco places, dance bars and shopping places in the area.

Recommend joining them for some good times while you are at the Grand Hyatt Playa Del Carmen!

Great hotel/resort in Playa Del Carmen with an exceptional staff from breakfast at La Cocina with Teresa, Miguel and Araceli to the pool area with Juan Pablo, Gerardo and manager Jorge who were on point.

Just spent a week in Playa del Carmen and the Grand Hyatt exceeded our expectations.

Other than that we loved everything about Grand Hyatt Playa Del Carmen Resort.

My family and I would recommend this hotel over any other in Playa Del Carmen.

But outlandishly expensive for everything.

Food on site is over priced and not appealing.

The catering and drinks were the ones I tried very poorly and at very expensive prices.

Also why am I paying a resort fee if I can’t get a chair at the pool.

but be aware the food is really expensive for what it is - $20 for a cold bowl of fries expensive.

As a Hyatt Explorist (turned Globalist this year) this is not the level of service that I expect for the rates that are charged.

I visited for a solo trip and paid premium price for security and comfort.

but probably not worth the premium over other hotels in PDC and not up to normal Hyatt standards in other countries.

What we are disappointed with is that the resort double the price of the taxi.

Otherwise La Cocina is overpriced and does not deliver - better walk down the street and get something on 5th ave.

Other than the spa & athletic club it would have been a total waste of vacation & very expensive for that matter.

The prices are ridiculous compared to what’s steps away.

This Hyatt does not live up to their standards .. it is very , very expensive for what it is …
The pillows smelled like mildew , I couldn’t walk barefoot in the room 
 without my feet being constantly wet and full of sand .

The food is overpriced and very average, nothing outstanding, mexican dishes like the typical Sopa de tortilla, Sopa de Lima is not such (although I was told it has lime consistency -what?-, I can tell there was no Lime on it, and it had like 3 thin slices of chicken as much), I wouldn't order any of the soups, very basic and scarce of Ingredients, not worth it.

This is by far the worst grand Hyatt and is not up to their normal standards, especially even more expensive than others.

The only thing we didn't like was the price of the cocktails, $20 dlls for a piña colada seems excessive,

Second time here and was put in a room next to the "day" club, which meant excessive noise 8 hours a day - not a relaxing time and couldn't use the balcony.

Worse thing, you can hear every single noise from outside.

The plung pool is shallow, has cold water, the jets are disabled from about 8:00pm til mid-morning and are super week anyway.

So if someone is up early or in the night the light is coming right in the bedroom & you can hear everything.

That means 3 nights of disturbance and annoyance.

The beach club next door is noise, so ask to be placed on the other side of property.

The rooms don't have much soundproofing at all.

So they banged around everytime you opened or closed one and every noise in the bathroom was shared throughout the room.

You don't have enough time to hear me go on about the staff.
