Beautiful resort, everything from the pools to the restaurants and the bars was great!

Not to mention there are 3/4 pools on the premises with swim up bars.

(although slightly warmer than the swim out pool.

Main pool was very lovely with lots to do and a DJ.

I loved Paloma from moons  and Edgar from the pool!!!!

This resort is truly very quiet and calm, occasionally there would be a DJ by the pool,

We loved  Breakfast on our patio. The only complaint  we have is there really isn't a Central bar where people can meet hang out and drink ( Limes is nice and the pool bar can be fun. )

Samuel, the pool waiter, was the hardest working server I have ever met!

Also an huge shout out the the pool concierges who were awesome, especially Sahel who went out of his way to make sure we were always happy!

The resort was very nice and safe the staff was very professional and friendly the food was amazing beaches were clean pools where wonderful the weather was perfect not to hot not to cold and the rooms where nice and clean every day!

Modern rooms and pool, warm staff and excellent service, great food options, secluded beach and pools.

We spent most of our time on-site at Haven's wonderful pools, beautiful beach that lies on a national park, restaurants and bars (BIG thank you Luis for the greatest drinks and conversations!).

The Serenity Club pools themselves are really spectacular looking,

The bartenders at the private pool were very attentive and after our first drinks, knew exactly what we wanted!

The swimout pools and Serenity area pools are heated.

For the price it charges, we would hope for a better service.

We ate the first three courses alone,  I was devastated that we had paid so much money for this vacation plus the extra $200 gala fee to again be sat on our own.

Poor front desk and management, exaggerated overcharge fee for adding a guest that for some reason was not updated in my reservation, only a few bars offered premium drinks when is included in your service, they gave you an updated suite

At tthe "a la carte" restaurants, unless you paid >$100 upgrade dishes, the meat was usually very tough.

While not completely justifying the extra cost, it did add a touch of luxe to our stay.

Keep in mind that taxi from airport to resort can be expensive so book transport with resort.

We usually choose the least expensive room category so we are able to go on more trips as opposed to spending tons of money on a view that we can see when we go outside, which is the majority of our vacation.

The most expensive place for the least amount of amenities.

but it was very expensive and I don’t think we will return as there are lots of places offering better value for money.

but my review is based on the cost of the hotel in comparison to other 5* hotels.

Too many other resorts that are less expensive and have great food and clean smelling rooms.

We weren't too crazy about the steakhouse, you'd have to pay to upgrade your steak options so I think we'd pass on that restaurant next time and book the other three restaurants twice each.

but it is kinda a scam as it only gives American dollars and has large fees for use and conversion is beneficial for the owner.

Food was sub par, especially steaks at addl cost.

but had paid a considerable amount of money for our 12 night stay!)

BUT like most we work hard to be able to vacation and do not feel that this resort is worth the money they charge.

not many options on drinks, if you want something different than what they have at the bar you have to pay for when it is supposed to be all inclusive.

There are many broken drain tiles smashed on the way from the main pool  to building 4 with orange cones highlighting them.

The smokers on the balcony beside us never allowed us to open our doors to hear the ocean.

Something we loved is the smell of our room (odd thing to remember, I know),

So then it smelled like mold mildew and cleaner.

but really smell musty which they try to mask with a room spray.

There was a water leak of some kind that had existed for sometime as evident by damp walls, black mold and the bowing vertical wooden slats.

There was a bit of a moldy smell in one of the closets,

Smoking in designated areas not enforced.

The beach is unusable and you can tell it never is by the few filthy cabanas that are there.

Beach unusable and canopying beds disgusting dirty.

The beach on the serenity side was disgusting and trashy.

The rooms felt wet all the time, smelled wet too.

One bar staff member seamed to not understand "my" Spanish or otherwise refuse to speak Spanish only to me, which came across a little foul and offensive.

The seaweed gathers and it can smell, so if you're wanting to spend a lot of time on the beach I'd look elsewhere.

The Hot sauna was smoking hot and then the dip into the ice cold pool was invigorating.

The room we had smelled a little moldy (a few other guests had the same experience).

Enjoyed making friends, massages at the tent on the beach, hydrotherapy and facials at the spa by Angel, shopping at downtown Cancun flea market, an excursion to xel-ha, hubby’s dive trip and lots of relaxation (and drinks 😂).

We booked a day trip to Xel-Ha with Dani.

I will definitely visit again whenever I plan to visit Cancun. Lastly, Haven is located only 20 minutes away from the airport and also much more close to Xel-ha, Xplor..etc so, if you are planning to visit one of the places and planning to ride a shuttle that are provided from the Xcaret, you will get to board last and leave first when you are coming back :)

I am simply asking for the 250K points that I was charged (significantly more than the nightly rate I had booked) be refunded for the inconvenience.

Our only complaint is that you have to give pool cards to get towels

There is a snack shop downstairs where you get buy coffee, drinks, snacks, etc.—you can charge it to the room if you don’t have your credit card.

And got a card to go to the fitness center to change.

They let us keep our towel cards so we could use the pool until it was time to leave, and even gave us a key card for the fitness centre in case we wanted to shower before heading to the airport.

(Those cards are returned at check-out, so you won’t be charged for lost/missing beach towels.)

Pool towel cards - we didn't get them at check-in & were not sure what was supposed to happen.

They said they have no record of another card being scanned at the door except my brother - in - in law's.

He stated that at check out which was 4 days from my bad experience ,he will remove the charge.

If you lose the towel or the card, you’ll get charged 350 pesos.

I don’t need your hundred dollar credit.

I am disputing the charge with my credit card company since Marriott/Westin refuse to cooperate.

Not worth the money they are charging and to top it off poor customer service.

Our concierge, Angie, went above and beyond to help us with restaurant reservations, schedule our COVID tests at the hotel prior to our return to the U.S.,  and resolve a problem with a lost discount card.

They can only charge $1000.00 USD per transaction, after 4 times of doing this my bank would not authorize the charges as it looks very suspicious!

At check out we did not receive the $50each credit and was told front desk doesn’t handle this issue.

Given their deceptive practices with the charge I will urge anybody reading this to kindly stay elsewhere and spare yourself from this fraud that the Westin is committing knowingly.

they offer you $100 credit and 10%off your bill if h/w both listen to a 1 1/2 hour sales presentation.

Cons:   Early morning phone calls, mediocre food at best, limited amenities, misleading marketing, strange layout, just a little dirty around the edges (stairwells, etc.).

We observed the requirements to not come within 30 feet of them, no flashes on the phone, etc.

I had to call the hotel about six times the week prior to arrival since they couldn’t find the reservation anywhere.

but front desk is rude and could care less where your standings is with Marriott their only intent is to sell you Time Share, for that they call you constantly.

Other - housekeeping rang our doorbell several at 8 am for god knows what given they hadn’t come in until 6 pm the previous evening.

but I was refused any form of assistance until I threatened to call the police.

The registration clerk makes a phone call and scratches out 927 and replaces it with 721. We ask "Is this a better room?"

You did not disclose when we booked, even after calling the Elite Marriot line yesterday, that being a 20+ year Marriot Ambassador does not mean a dang thing at this location.

We asked if they could call a restaurant to find out if they allow take-out orders and they refused, so we didn’t need to make an outbound call.

However, the daily call from the concierge desk is maddening.

My wife repeatedly requested a car seat beforehand (email, calls) for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel.

but what they call the leadership crew is sub-par to say the least.

I didn't care for the constant calls about signing up for the timeshare presentation; too much pressure after I said no several times to several people.

After calling the reception, someone came to repair the door.

Travel tip: if you really want to enjoy the beach, consider traveling in the fall because the seaweed (I believe they call it sargassum) is weird and smells funny.

It was only fixed after four phone calls and three trips by maintenance.

Awesome location , pools , spa , hot jacuzzi .

The Westin Lagunamar is in principle one of the nicest Marriott Vacation Ownership (meaning timeshare) properties with fantastic large pools, a great beachfront location, and large and very convenient apartments with well equipped kitchens.

The pool staff which includes the waiters that work the pool are all awesome.

Just a shout out to a few of the employees that made our stay so wonderful: Armondo Diaz, (Viento/Duna), Fredy Chi, Claudia (Concierge), Javier(Fun Team), Edwardo and Lomelli (Pool Attendant s), Merisol (Front Desk), Juan Carlos and Gabriel, and our new friend, Pedro.

The pool side concierge and the Fun team were on top of creating a relaxing and enjoyable time at the pool area.

If you are trying to decide between the Westin Lagunamar and Westin Spa Hotel further down the strip, I would say: Lagunamar has better location within hotel zone action and the pool is much bigger,

Water Aerobics in the pool, everyday at 12:00 is very popular.

On the pool deck - Servers Williams and Gonzaga greatly accommodate our desires with laughter and smiles.

Great views beautiful beach and really nice pools.

The hardest part of the trip was deciding on which pool, hot tube or part of the beach to relax by.

The pool was amazing(we only visited the big infinity pool ) we spent most of our time relaxing at the infinity edge taking in the gorgeous views of the ocean. Magnificent!

The food from the pool bar to the restaurants were very good.

Beach and pools are excellent, rooms have kitchens & jacuzzi tubs, and generally friendly staff.

The pools are large and seem to accommodate plenty of the guests.

Keneshia at the Concierge made our stay delightful and helped us book our excursion to Xel Ha (highly recommend!

I also felt safe taking an excursion to Xel-Hal, arranged by the hotel only.

We planned a variety of tours through the concierge which kept us busy throughout the week, Chichen Itza, Tulum, Xel-ha, Isla Contoy, Isla Mujeres.

We stayed 9 days the first time, 10 the second and we loved every single day, there is always something to do at the resort not to mention you can do day trips to Isla Mujeres, Chichen Itza, Tulum, cenotes, Xel-Ha, Xcaret, Coba, snorkeling, the underground river and so on.

We had a wonderful trip to Xel-Ha, highly recommended.

She helped us book our excursions to Xel-Ha and Tulum.

A pool with dancers on podiums, dj, foam you get the jist.

One pool was pretty much just volleyball and the other was jammed with kids.

The pools (though I find the new rectangular shape boring and on the small side)  have more than enough loungers and shade available, so all in all this part of the hotel is awesome.

but enough for a good workout, and there were funny activities in the swimming pool.

The pools were nice and they had lots of activities.

The 3 pools were great, and the beach was lovely, with soft white sand.

Olga what a smile she as, guy who serves drinks, going around the pools with his little truck thing.

your hardest decision of the day will be to choose whether to chill at the pool or the beach!

but we were right next to the party pool which to be honest we were at all the parties so didn't matter to us but if you want a quiet holiday make sure you ask to be in a quiet room.

The hotel has three pools, one with a poolside bar.

Cannot fault the hotel, staff or location and as a couple we enjoyed the beach as well as the swim up bar pool and not troubled by kids/families as slightly out of school holidays.

Rui caribe is a very nice hotel the staff were extremely friendly & helpful pools were lovely & so was the beach … the food wasn’t great

but  this while what I am getting is disgusting hot dogs?

3 places to smoke, if your a smoker  which are not adequate for hotel this size.

The middle pool is a pool bar where people were just drinking until they couldn't stand up, smoking in the pool, and we even saw someone taking substances.

If you’re a smoker, I would strongly advise against this hotel.

Our room did smell of sulphur on occasions and the fan does make a noise which you can't switch off so some light sleepers may struggle.

There are staff raking that up each morning and it’s nothing like smelly seaweed and didn’t deter anyone swimming in the sea.

First off the rooms had a horrible mold/mildew smell that was making me feel sick, our rooms were NEVER cleaned unless we requested on the app and even so no fresh towels brought / toilet paper refills.

Areas for improvement: 
We saw many people smoking throughout the resort in undesignated areas, which we found very annoying.

The rooms were a bit dated and the bathrooms could have been cleaner, there was black mold in ours.

Day we checked in, the room had pillows and bed that were giving off a stinking smell, same with curtains

but of course people had to ruin it by leaving their garbage behind, we found broken glass, straws and cigarettes :/ Food was very poor, only friuts and vegetables were great also staff was very helpfull and nice.

even though u tell them constantly you don’t smoke not a very good way to welcome holiday makers absolutely disgraceful behaviour

No air in room bathrooms, insufficient room lighting, red stained mirrors, pee on the side of the toilets.

Our friends had trouble with electrics on floor 9, blowing lights, hair dryers ect…fuse box looked old and looked like required maintenance, this happened after rain, so probably water in the electrics, they had to sleep with no lights or electric, with a smell of burning, was not resolved until next day, their last day.

Everybody smokes, everybody is loud and inconsiderate of others having a relaxing time.

Glad my two days in Riu Caribe I spent them at Xcaret & Xel-Ha.

I could go on , we had a great time everyone’s experience is different .

but still want a good day out you NEED to go to Xel-Ha, this place is out of this world!

While we were there we went on a lot of excursions including Xel-Ha and Xplor which we booked ourselves through the Xcaret website before going, and a few excursions through Thomson while we were there including the catamaran trip to Dolphin Discovery where we swam with dolphins, nurse sharks and fed the manatees and a trip to Garrafon Park, and Chichen Itza.

You can also book all excursions at hotel, we only booked coco bongos through arturo the rep and booked xel ha with a place on the strip.

After 45 minutes of no one coming we call again, they say someone will come.

The phone in our room did not work and it took us two visits to the lobby before they sent someone to replace it.

My last day I called on my room phone to get the bellman to come up and get my luggage and no one answered any dept I called except room service.

Only issue was there was no way to actually call the hotel directly on a toll free line with questions I had before the trip.

My wife and are very mobile and athletic, so it was only a minor inconvenience,

What they call sushi has no fish and almost every option includes cream cheese - this is not sushi!

They did have a tent on the nightstand about if you find the bed uncomfortable, call the front desk.

It was frustrating having no cash or phone for a day.

CONS-I kept the key in my other pocket (not near phone),

Bring your phone with you to dinner because you need to take a picture of the menu as menus are not provided at the table.

When we went to check in,  the front desk service indicated that we did not pay for our children and that we had to call Travelocity.

Little random things like the mini fridge not being restocked (and then the phone never being answered by housekeeping) can be annoying.

She started calling at 7:30 and no one would answer the phone so she called the front desk and they put her through at 9:00, she ordered the fajitas and they didn't send any taco shells and she didn't get her food until 11:00 PM - that is not acceptable.

I would suggest availability to at least make one reservation by email or phone for clients like me.

When we rang our travel agent, she confirmed this was a lie and she contacted the hotel and said she would not pay them unless we were moved.

All the facilities in the room are so outdated and it is even difficult to find enough outlets for charging my iPhone, iPad and watch at the same time… the switch for toilet light is combined with  the one for ventilator, you have to turn them both on at the same time… it is not so thoughtful especially during the night…because the ventilator could be really loud…

With as many other staff members throughout the property, you would think they would be able to call someone to help out when it gets busy, or at the very least communicate to those waiting that they apologize for the wait.

We were disappointed that we got constant eye rolls by the waiters and waitress when asking for just the normal/regular things, the people serving the food at the buffets, the people answering the phone for room service and some of the people dropping the food off too.

She said she was going to call us to confirm .

We enjoyed all of the hot tubs, pools, and activities offered at the hotels.

Royal is more party vibe, great pool entertainment, theatre shows.

Daytime entertainment was good at the Royal pool

The members bar was excellent as well as the pool bar.

You were able to use pools and restaurants at the other sister resorts.

Our waiter, Cristobal, was great by the pool!

The entertainment team at the pool were amazing every day (Eder, Mike, Yasmin, Eduardo, Maxine, their new addition from Argentina, etc); the restaurant Bogavante: (Darwin, Angel, Alberto, Erik, Estrella, Niko, etc), at the Lobby or pool or bartender (Paul); at Cafe Solaris: Israel, Alfredo, Ana, at Las Fuentes: David, Javier, Jesus, etc; Marco Polo: Jonathan; Everyone in general were all awesome;  3rd time in 2 years and is all because of all of the people I just mentioned, they are a bunch of great people with great hearts; very grateful to all of them for making this experience unforgettable.

I like that they are smaller resorts so everything is within a 5 min walk tops, I enjoyed the food , the friendliness of staff, the pool activities offered , the night time entertainment in lobby and theater , the resort is on the hotel zone which means beautiful ocean water access , it’s not in the party zone ,but that’s just a cab/ bus ride away.

We had a lot of choices of food from poolside grills to 5 star restaurants to casual dining, you will always find great food from Sushi and Pizza, to salads, hamburgers, and tacos by the pools, to great dining experiences in the evening.

Whilst I loved all of the staff, bartenders, shout out to Rodan, William, Laura (at the beach n pool) the resort itself was not good at all.

The swimming pools were also really nice and refreshing and fun to play in however there were times that because if something in the water it would sting the face and eyes,

The royal pool is bigger, has more chairs, and more lively entertainment.

It’s a very hot time of the year, pools and beach are very hot.

Room: the view was beautiful of the pool and ocean.

-Food for dinner wasn't consistent in taste, and the buffet was horrible (The fish was so chewy it tasted like Calamari)
-This is a family friendly resort and I totally understand that,

Food are delicious and beach and pool are good.

Yael at Sol-Ha also helped us book an excursion to Tulum and Xel-Ha, which turned out to be a such a memorable experience because we were completely drenched from the storm

Our favorite days of our trip were 1)when we went to Xel-Ha and 2)when we spent a whole day at the Solaris pool as a family.

We did one excursion which was Xel-Ha.

Highly recomend #1 Xel-ha park in Tulum, just amazing, food included!!
