The activities, pool and beach are clean with lots of extra stuff available.

Mind you, the beach is beautiful, muchos gracias to Diego and the staff at the beach.

Pros: super nice people, good breakfast included, right on a nice beach food overall good.

The Hotel was great, it was directly at the beach and the food was good aswell.

Always something to do for all ages whether it’s tequila tasting, beach volleyball, movie night or bracelet making.

I absolutely love the beach, gorgeous water and white sand ⛱️ 
I want to give a few shout outs to the Entertainment staff at Emporio.

Cancún beach was literally few steps from the hotel room.

Merecedes our beach server was the best our whole stay!

We also participated in beach volleyball.

Really good beach where clear water and not deep for upto 25 meters with nice waves and pool were really good too ( beachfront). 2.

The pools and beach are nice, beach beautiful to swim at the water so inviting

The beaches are clean with almost no seaweed.

Quick check in at reception, and staff spoke great English, the service was excellent and the the beach was beautiful.

but in particular Daniel and Roberto (daily entertainment) were absolutely fantastic and kept us entertained around the pool, Jesus was very attentive,  as was Mercedes at the beach bar.

The beach access was great , pools amazing!!

There are several bars, several swimming pools and access to the beach.

Beach access was a breeze and its always easy to get what you need in the towel department.

During the time I am writing this review, public access to the beach it is not permitted due to the virus.

The amenities are great, access to the beach is easy, and they clean the sand, pull all the seaweed and shells etc that get washed up.

but beach access is very close by with shaded beds or shaded places to sit on the sand.

The resort has a fantastic pool, in-pool bar, great on-site food, amazing beach access, and fantastic service by employees.

The pool and access to the beach are beautiful, everybody was nice and helpful.

There’s construction on one side of the hotel,

major construction was happening Dec 10-17, 2022 when we were there, right next to us in B601, and that was a vacation destroyer.

Plus the building construction is pretty unsightly.

Now the paving slabs are being replaced and it is impossible to swim in the children's pool and the adjoining adult one, the dust from construction works flies in the face and water.

Still some construction going on for now, so that was our only "cleanliness" negative.

They were remodeling on side of the hotel

Hotel is under construction 24/7 Jack hammering around the pool.

Unfortunately we ended up in a construction place with loud people that couldn’t behave.

The Cons: as for now the hotel is undergoing reconstruction that creates some construction jobsite-like noise during week day time.

We also heard construction noises all through the night our first night there.

but part of it was also under construction.

Construction: Yes there’s construction going on, no it did not bother anyone as you can’t hear the noise and they’re done early, it will be out of your way. Promise.

CONSTRUCTION AT THE RESORT:

There is some construction currently being done.

What you don´t know is that once you arrive you find that they´re doing some construction right at from of the beach: so you´re trying to enjoy Caribbean sun with slap-hammer music and construction noise.

Construction at the establishment was only a slight distraction; to see continued investment makes me want to come back.

There was construction going on all day (except Sunday)

I assume the hotel will be bigger as there is a lot of construction and renovations going on.

From the dance classes, music quizzes, and water aerobics by the pool to museum tours, they really have something for everyone.

And adjacent to Mayan museum so we did not even have tk leave the hotel to see Mayan ruins and have a lovely morning in the museum.

Pros: nice, smiling staff, sea on site, very tasty and varied food in the restaurant, lawns, plants on site are carefully looked after, there is a Mayan museum and a bus stop nearby, buses run every 2 minutes.

We especially enjoyed kyaking, tequila tasting, Spanish lessons and the museum with the iguanas lol!

We took tours to the underwater coral museum and Isla mujeres one day, which was awesome,

The Hotel is located next to a Mayan museum, in walking distance you get to see things around (shops and stuff).

*The Good
-It is located in a quiet area of Cancun, with the Mayan Museum just outside the entrance at a walking distance, a good restaurant across the street and a money exchange booth next to it.

One day he took us for the excursion to the museum and demonstrated excellent knowledge of Maya's culture.

but not least, there is a museum right below Emporio which is worth a look and a bus stop a few feet outside on the main street for those who are interested in taking a stroll outside of the resort.

Positives - 24 hour Deli, next door to the Museum of Cancun, convenience stores over the road, walk in swimming pool.

Also we discovered that right next door to the hotel is an anthropological museum with ruins and an amazing display and beautiful architecture.

In addition, there is a magnificent museum of Mayan art and culture immediately adjacent to the hotel.

(we laughed at ourselves afterwards though..) 
There is a Casa Maya Museum right outside the property that we loved!

There is a nice museum right behind the hotel and also a bus stop, you can ride the bus all over Cancun for $1 a person which will take you to the downtown and market areas.

There is a Mayan museum in front of the hotel which is wonderful because there are actual ruins there to walk through.

Emporio hotel is close to bus stop ,museum and different activities

Next to the museum on the Strip of cancun.

The only plus is proximity to the Mayan Museum next door.

You are 1-mile either by the sidewalk on the main road or down the beach to Playa Delfines beach which is a beautiful public beach.

12 pesos and you are 15 mins away from Playa delfines ( which has the CANCUN sign you'd wanna take pictures at), 15 mins from playa tortugo and playa lagosta- again beautiful beaches where someones always offering you to buy drinks or food.

The hotel is located 25 minutes walk to Playa Delfines and El Rey Ruins (worth visiting) and a minute away from the Mayan Museum.

Clean, cool and updated rooms, balcony was great we ate breakfast and played games at night overlooking the lagoon.

On a positive note, the rooms seem to be remodeled, they look very nice and spacious, I would say they only good thing I found in this hotel.

At some point the rooms have been renovated which are actually not bad and comfortable to stay in.

Maybe that's how they're updating the rooms.

Although we had a great ocean view, the room seemed so outdated, unkempt and haphazardly cleaned.

It does however offer newly renovated rooms with ocean view or older

The new room was on the renovated side and beautiful,

They upgraded our room to a mini-suit on the 10th floor in the newly remodeled rooms.

They are renovating the rooms so the new rooms are great.

I would return again to see what the renovated rooms look like.

We had a beautifully remodeled room, great weather and a much needed rest by the beach and/or pool, daily.

We asked for a renovated room and got one while checking in; we traded the old see view room for a new room without see view,

Finally got to our room and was pleasantly surprised by how updated the room was.

but very clean and they are starting to do a major renovation on the place so I think the rooms will be updated soon.

We had a renovated room it was lovely and kept very clean by housekeeping.

We stayed in a Deluxe King room which is one of the recently renovated rooms and it was great!.

We asked to look at one of the recently renovated rooms and were very impressed.

The adult pool - if you have alone time, you must go here!

but things that were just meh or ok. We traveled with 2 kids, 5 and 6 and 2 adults.

The food was delicious at all a la carte restaurants with the French Sans Soucis adults only (pants, collared shirt and shoes for men) restaurant being our favourite.

although, I can’t complain about Jerry in the adults only lounge.

Activities for both adults and children were more than enough and we didn't had time to go out of the resort.

Overall very good facility for adults and children.

Great resort with lots of entertainment for kids and adults.

Because it was closed so often my kids didn’t enjoy staying at the kids club which didn’t allow us to take advantage of the adult pool and have some time to ourselves.

We ate our breakfasts in the adult lounge where they put out a spread every morning and it was peaceful and great.

Special thanks to Roger mi hermano de mexicano on the 1st floor adult swimming pool.

Excellent  staff especially Roger in adult bar, 8th floor bar Jerry for breakfast/ Antonio in evening and Pearla lobby bar.

They put 6 adults in 3 rooms with one bed, including two men, my brothers.

Maria in the adult bar on the 8th floor is great.

I enjoyed the adult pool and the adult bar and disco.

Every day the entertainment team organise things throughout the day to keep children and adults entertained.

Jerry (8th floor lounge), Jesus (bellman), Homer (adult pool bartender), Luis (lobby bartender)
Gabriel (Trafalgar bartender), Hector and Willberto (waiters) are why we keep coming back!

-Strict pants dress code in french restaurant while you are on beach resort.

The ocean was the best part of this trip, as the clean beaches and soft white sand were unbeatable.

If you are intent on coming here, you will enjoy the beautiful vistas, gorgeous weather, beaches, pools, activities and the delightful hospitality of the serving staff,

On a positive note, the amenities and beach are great for kids and we were able to make the most of them.

Our kids now are grown, and we keep returning to this family resort for two main reasons: the people and the views.

Jackie from entertainment she is amazing very kind her English is perfect, she remember the name of my kids all week, it's great with kids activities and Aquagym her activities were always on time..
Gabriela hostess she is very nice person and great personality always smiling

Lifeguards were stationed at the hotel beach and we felt very safe to let our kids play in the waves.

The staff put in a great deal off effort for the Christmas festivities, including Santa arriving by helicopter, which amazed the children.

He was extremely polite and patient with our whole crew of 8 including 3 little kids.

Jesus the bell boy was so wonderful, in many aspects.

We were there a week over Christmas with three familes and two grandchildren who loved the waterpark and all activities geared toward children.

Food was absolutely appalling in the buffet if you have kids, as mine lived off chicken nuggets from the snack bar for 2weeks.

but our kids loved it and it is exactly what we wanted, something budjet friendly that is kid friendly, there is lots to do at the kids water park , also a baby paradise for kids under 3 years old that had a bouncy castle and toys.

It was a shame really because I had high expectations of this holiday - our first with my son-in-law and new grandson

The girls were on time always , made us feel very comfortable.

Second favorite was Los Gallos- the Mexican restaurant.

Shout out to Jorge in the Mexican restaurant.

For example, one morning I asked Mary at the Mexican breakfast station for 2 fried eggs to top the delicious salbutes she made.

The closest we saw (and we did every specialty restaurant) was pico de gillo at breakfast for omlettes and a tablespoon of def not fresh guac at the Mexican restaurant with the fajitas.

but it is a low class hotel which is mostly occupied by local mexican residents mostly.

The buffet is catered for people who enjoy eating mexican food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The surprise for me being in Mexico and not able to get good Mexican food was a bummer.

The Italian restaurant was very good as was the Mexican restaurant.

The next day Rodrigo was administrator of the Mexican restaurant, where we were poisoned.

The food was ok. Nikolas at the Mexican restaurant was wonderful as was Eduardo at the Italian restaurant.

This resort I liked so much the shows from entertainment are nice and my favorite was the Mexican show with my friend Andre my sisters won the Mexican scream.

Los Gallos is the Mexican themed restaurant.

We tried all the reservation restaurants and Wayne boots , la piazza , and the Mexican were our favorite .

Dining at the hotel's restaurants was a delightful experience, particularly the French and Mexican cuisine, which offered excellent food and pleasant service.

Some of the Mexican themed nights were good!

Our favorite restaurant for service was Mexican, thanks to Raul and his team.

We also went to the French and Mexican and again all of the staff are brilliant.

One day we called at 9am and the restaurant we wanted was all booked up (Mexican).

I'd hardly call it disgusting like some reviews.

After 3 calls no response including a 4th call to front desk.

Set an alarm on your phone for 7:59am and login right at 8am knowing where you want to eat to book a reservation.

The alacarts were great too you just need to book it every day at 8am it’s not hard if you know how to use a cell phone.

We stayed in the club rooms and the phone and toilet were broken for a duration of the trip.

but they are trying to make us call the website and figure it out ourselves lol we are rushing to go to the airport because they will not let you leave till you pay the extra charge.

but these were literally cots that you would see in a jail cell. 3.

You can save a photo of the QR code on your phone and go to it from the comfort of your bed.

I went out the side doors and tried to deter him by calling someone to come meet me and he still continued to follow me.

Reservations for dinner were difficult, the phone app was not good.

Because either they wouldn’t answer the phone or couldn’t speak English (nor find someone that could).

No areas with air conditioning in hotel except the shop or your room( we had 6month old)
Front desk staff were unhelpful most of time, couldn’t call through from room had to go down.

They never answered their phone in or out of the hotel(reception, concierge, or any other department).

The restaurants you have to reserve in the morning by calling in.

Calling over 20 times and being on hold for 3hrs and still no answer.

Hotel does not answer phone calls from outside hotel or emails sent to concierge.

Con's- almost impossible to make reservations for dinner as you must call at certain times from your room and no one answers for hours.

Instead, you had to call each morning between 8-2 for a reservation for that night.

Loved our balcony that faced la Playa Delfines and the water slides.

Also, Playa delfines is 10 minutes walking and they have the Cancún letters.

Playa Delfines is amazing , some days it is strong with waves

The good thing is that there is a beautiful beach called playa delfines which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel.

but it is adequate and there is the beautiful Playa Delfines 5 minutes walk down the coast for those who fancy it.

Down the beach about 100 yards is Playa Delfines, which is a beautiful public beach that has shaded spaces, bathrooms and showers.

but the our suite smelled horrible and then our bathroom door knob broke off and locked me in the bathroom for an hour.

Patrons dip their own ice cream and after the kids get into it, it was disgusting!!

When we attended Italian restaurant, my main dish was burned and my husband pasta contained spaghetti mainly with some spaghettini and fettuccine parts.

They’re mostly a three star older equipments are extremely old and shampoo and soap and everything smells really really weird which is hard to get used to, I didn’t feel I smell clean from using their shampoo and soap  their stuff is nice except the ones that help you check out what they’re doing is definitely not legal

The room had a smell and the sliding door kept getting stuck and just didn’t open on the 3rd day.

Their rooms are not maintained and are full of dust and smells like mold, in which I’m allergic to.

but the bathroom at the adult bar is nasty and they want you to share a bar of soap with everyone no liquid soap there.

Booked through Costco Travel 
The hotel is very old and nasty .

We literally lived 6 nights breathing mold.

The only AC is in the rooms and we had to stay out of our room for two days because they freshly painted somewhere near us and you couldn’t even breathe, paint is toxic!

It started off bad because we were put in tower 2 floor 5 and ithe room smelled like paint

Our room had some challenges, as we had a whole wall that had no power (lights and outlets would not work), a toilet that would regularly not flush, and black mold in the shower.

The main problem was that our room smelled strongly musty, and there were cockroaches in the room and the buffet bathroom.

Some of our rooms received the toiletry items, others did not.

The maintenance person showed up and did something in the bathroom and said it was fixed.

The toilet clogged and when we asked for a plunger no one came till an hour later.

My bathroom toilet was clogged everyday despite not using it.
