Morning yoga led by Ariel and Lunchtime water zumba kept us moving and active.

All the activities that they off for the kids, pool table, football and other they are beyond, again not what they show in the pictures.

Always With some game or activitie going on.

Great hotel, great food, a lot of fun activities like kayak on the beach, water balloon fight, shows, thanks to Andy, Brenda and Oswaldo who are really nice!

The water park was a real hit with my kids as well as the activities by the pool by Andy, Lolly and Brenda and the main guy sorry don’t remember his name.

Great  sports and very attentive to everyone’s needs !!

There were plenty of activities to keep us entertained.

Activities under leadership of Pepebiy, Andy, LaLi, Brenda, Oswaldo, Bring fun with game, trivia, karaoke, and various competitions that make your stay enjoyable.Lifeguards always on duty providing safety.

There is a games room by the main swimming pools which was popular and a good idea

We liked the pool and the waterpark,they have every day activities,so you can't be bored😉.The staff is very polite,nice and they to make your stay as pleasent as possible.The beach is clean and private,you have free towels and the playroom is nice.

Kids loved the games and the water park- foam party and balloon fight was fun!

The shows they put on, the events they host (karaoke, Zumba, trivia, beach volleyball).

To the entertainment staff great job really amazing good ambience and fun activities and shows Andy, Brenda, Oswaldo y Cris.

Food was great, kid's activities were awesome.

Very kid's friendly various activities shows and entertainment.

Andy was so much fun to watch leading the activities like trivia and karaoke.

They only remove the seaweed once a week after the resort has the workers rake it up all week… So by the end of the week it starts rotting and smelling, and it’s very unappealing.

Although the room was clean - the mattress was filthy and the blankets had holes in - the bed sheets also didn’t fit the beds properly.

In summary if you want poor security, bland food, cheap liquor and disgusting living conditions and careless management…CONGRATULATIONS, YOU FOUND THE RESORT FOR YOU!

The place is filthy and the all inclusive buffet is the worse ever.

Our second room for which we had to pay an extra had a strong smell of urine in the entire closet area. 3.

Our shower looked like a relic from a 1930s prison and smelled.

Drainage smells badly- kept the fires to the bathroom shut.

however we had to change rooms as the 1st room had a bad smell and humidty.

The children would stand there and scream like they were being burned,

It is an “all-inclusive” that doesn’t include much. Food:
Disgusting.

The food was absolutely disgusting, we ended up having to go out once a day to find something edible.

Marina didn’t seem too busy and didn’t have almost any boat fuel smell.

Just to name a few things of the top of head, there was hair in the tub and mold around the sides of the tub, a dead bug in the sink, the "white" sheets were heavy worn/stained and needed to be replaced.

Laminate on tables separated, wood rotting, door of fridge spray painted.

The food is horrible and nasty all five days same recooked food retried food and the jelly has mold on top.

This place is disgusting dirty with no help if you don’t know Spanish.

We did the excursion to swim with the dolphins at Xel-ha and was the best day ever for our 4 kids!

Our transportation was about 1hr- 1.5hrs away from Xplor and Xel-ha.

I also was delighted with the ease of going off on the excursions offered that pick you up at the main entrance and Xel-Ha was my favorite.

The waterpark is closed every Tuesday, so we went to Xel-Ha that day.

We also went to Xel-ha with our kids which was also fun,tho expensive.

We did go on some brilliant excursions to Xel-Ha and Tulum.

We hired a car and went to Xel-ha (swam with the manatee) and Xcaret (swam with the dolphins) - they were fab days out and pretty easy to get to - we had no problems with the hire car or rogue policemen.

It was so fun with all the dancing, laughter and other activities.

I recommend the soups at any of the restaurants available for guests or the food at Marco Polo.

The entertainment team at the pool were amazing every day (Eder, Mike, Yasmin, Eduardo, Maxine, their new addition from Argentina, etc); the restaurant Bogavante: (Darwin, Angel, Alberto, Erik, Estrella, Niko, etc), at the Lobby or pool or bartender (Paul); at Cafe Solaris: Israel, Alfredo, Ana, at Las Fuentes: David, Javier, Jesus, etc; Marco Polo: Jonathan; Everyone in general were all awesome;  3rd time in 2 years and is all because of all of the people I just mentioned, they are a bunch of great people with great hearts; very grateful to all of them for making this experience unforgettable.

I like that they are smaller resorts so everything is within a 5 min walk tops, I enjoyed the food , the friendliness of staff, the pool activities offered , the night time entertainment in lobby and theater , the resort is on the hotel zone which means beautiful ocean water access , it’s not in the party zone ,but that’s just a cab/ bus ride away.

They lure you in with the promise of a discount for an activity into a 90 minute presentation.

He was supposed to book us an activity and never answered back with the details.

It’s very great that you can have acces to with another resort , then you can have more activities and restaurants to try.

Additionally, the resort offered a lot of family, fun, and kid's activities (and kids club) daily.

They also lined up events each day which were so much fun: tequila tasting, music and THE BEST 4th of July Party I have EVER been to (DJs, foam cannons, red, white and blue drinks, games, cookout foods, decorations.

I would like to echo the Bingo game that JASMINE conducted, she does it so nicely and it’s fun time, my daughter 3yr old use to wait for the bingo game at 2pm 😄 luckily we won prizes too, thank you Jasmine, you are awesome!

The Marco Polo had a very creative menu and the presentation was very unique in all restaurants.

Of special note was Jonathan at the Marco Polo Restaurant, Yasmín at the activity desk, and Carlos from Bocavente’.

Special mention to the Solaris staff Maxine, Aline, and Eduardo that were so attentive and kept the activities so much fun!

The resort was clean, with fun activities, and a great entertainment team with a show every night.

After 45 minutes of no one coming we call again, they say someone will come.

The phone in our room did not work and it took us two visits to the lobby before they sent someone to replace it.

My last day I called on my room phone to get the bellman to come up and get my luggage and no one answered any dept I called except room service.

Only issue was there was no way to actually call the hotel directly on a toll free line with questions I had before the trip.

My wife and are very mobile and athletic, so it was only a minor inconvenience,

What they call sushi has no fish and almost every option includes cream cheese - this is not sushi!

They did have a tent on the nightstand about if you find the bed uncomfortable, call the front desk.

It was frustrating having no cash or phone for a day.

CONS-I kept the key in my other pocket (not near phone),

Bring your phone with you to dinner because you need to take a picture of the menu as menus are not provided at the table.

When we went to check in,  the front desk service indicated that we did not pay for our children and that we had to call Travelocity.

Little random things like the mini fridge not being restocked (and then the phone never being answered by housekeeping) can be annoying.

She started calling at 7:30 and no one would answer the phone so she called the front desk and they put her through at 9:00, she ordered the fajitas and they didn't send any taco shells and she didn't get her food until 11:00 PM - that is not acceptable.

I would suggest availability to at least make one reservation by email or phone for clients like me.

When we rang our travel agent, she confirmed this was a lie and she contacted the hotel and said she would not pay them unless we were moved.

All the facilities in the room are so outdated and it is even difficult to find enough outlets for charging my iPhone, iPad and watch at the same time… the switch for toilet light is combined with  the one for ventilator, you have to turn them both on at the same time… it is not so thoughtful especially during the night…because the ventilator could be really loud…

With as many other staff members throughout the property, you would think they would be able to call someone to help out when it gets busy, or at the very least communicate to those waiting that they apologize for the wait.

We were disappointed that we got constant eye rolls by the waiters and waitress when asking for just the normal/regular things, the people serving the food at the buffets, the people answering the phone for room service and some of the people dropping the food off too.

She said she was going to call us to confirm .

Yael at Sol-Ha also helped us book an excursion to Tulum and Xel-Ha, which turned out to be a such a memorable experience because we were completely drenched from the storm

Our favorite days of our trip were 1)when we went to Xel-Ha and 2)when we spent a whole day at the Solaris pool as a family.

There were plenty of activities in addition to the pool - such as shuffleboard, soccer-pool, regular pool, ping pong, pottery painting, regular swimming pool, excellent shows, fitness classes, bingo - you won't be bored!

He started off as our maid 25 years ago at the Royal Caribbean and know he does an outstanding job at the Sports Desk at the Royal Sands!

But there are activities available for everyone regardless of age and abilities.

Kudos to the Social Activities staff—Paulina, Andrea, Freda, Carla, Rodrigo, Ernesto, Blue, and Ramon.

Outstanding service , food , and activities.

There are also so many activities to do and the activity staff is the best!

Ernesto is a new activities worker, and I really hope to see him there again when I come back in July.

Great property with many great activities and food!!

Sidelines Sports Bar was probably best spot to eat w/o reservation.

Plenty of The upkeep and cleanliness of the entire venue was impressive.

Rodrigo, Karla, Ernesto, blue, Ramon, Andrea are the BEST activity crew I’ve seen coming to any resorts!

Karla, Rodrigo and Fernando were excellent activity hosts.

I also loved the guacamole,  salsa, fresh pastries and merchandise in the Market.

She was fantastic poolside for BINGO, volleyball, and corn  hole.

There are lots of activities, or you can just do your own thing.

Social activities crew (Fernando, Carla and Andrea are terrific).

They were incredibly kind to and patient with our children who followed them around all week like puppies :) Their activities were wonderful, and they displayed tremendous professionalism and enthusiasm.

The activities were perfect for both kids and their friends.

Participating in the adult activities were very fun, especially with Andrea, Karla, and Fernando.

The staff at Frida, Pepe's and the sports bar (I did not get the all the names) were very responsive and always with a smile!

but enough for a good workout, and there were funny activities in the swimming pool.

The pools were nice and they had lots of activities.

We did pool volleyball and also aerobics in the pool and dance classes with Tony, who was fab, full of enthusiasm and so friendly.

Next to the hotel, they have a party venue where others can come from other riu hotels to the 4 parties they have,

The sports bar has the most lovely latte.

Always lots of activities happening during the day.

Bocci ball, cornhole, pingpong and even an iron man competition.

Also on offer are activities like dance classes and aqua aerobics as well as the Riu Party which takes place at the neighbouring Riu property.

Entertainment team during the day where very friendly & encouraging to join in the activities, these were fun!

We enjoyed the sports bar and the lobby bar.

but smallest double beds ever, repetitive food every night for 10 days, evening entertainment only available inside in the theatre and nothing to do outside on a warm, balmy evening in Mexico except sit at an almost silent terrace outside the sports bar.

The hotel was a taxi ride from most outside venues.

RIU party venue next door is lively and great fun, and best of all free too!

Riu party venue was a great night out, with easy access to the town using local buses.

Tomasa and Lupita in the sports bar were awesome at making us feel at home.

They have a few great shows at night and activities during the day for all ages.

but  this while what I am getting is disgusting hot dogs?

3 places to smoke, if your a smoker  which are not adequate for hotel this size.

The middle pool is a pool bar where people were just drinking until they couldn't stand up, smoking in the pool, and we even saw someone taking substances.

If you’re a smoker, I would strongly advise against this hotel.

Our room did smell of sulphur on occasions and the fan does make a noise which you can't switch off so some light sleepers may struggle.

There are staff raking that up each morning and it’s nothing like smelly seaweed and didn’t deter anyone swimming in the sea.

First off the rooms had a horrible mold/mildew smell that was making me feel sick, our rooms were NEVER cleaned unless we requested on the app and even so no fresh towels brought / toilet paper refills.

Areas for improvement: 
We saw many people smoking throughout the resort in undesignated areas, which we found very annoying.

The rooms were a bit dated and the bathrooms could have been cleaner, there was black mold in ours.

Day we checked in, the room had pillows and bed that were giving off a stinking smell, same with curtains

but of course people had to ruin it by leaving their garbage behind, we found broken glass, straws and cigarettes :/ Food was very poor, only friuts and vegetables were great also staff was very helpfull and nice.

even though u tell them constantly you don’t smoke not a very good way to welcome holiday makers absolutely disgraceful behaviour

No air in room bathrooms, insufficient room lighting, red stained mirrors, pee on the side of the toilets.

Our friends had trouble with electrics on floor 9, blowing lights, hair dryers ect…fuse box looked old and looked like required maintenance, this happened after rain, so probably water in the electrics, they had to sleep with no lights or electric, with a smell of burning, was not resolved until next day, their last day.

Everybody smokes, everybody is loud and inconsiderate of others having a relaxing time.

but still want a good day out you NEED to go to Xel-Ha, this place is out of this world!

While we were there we went on a lot of excursions including Xel-Ha and Xplor which we booked ourselves through the Xcaret website before going, and a few excursions through Thomson while we were there including the catamaran trip to Dolphin Discovery where we swam with dolphins, nurse sharks and fed the manatees and a trip to Garrafon Park, and Chichen Itza.

You can also book all excursions at hotel, we only booked coco bongos through arturo the rep and booked xel ha with a place on the strip.

It is great for families as it has nice pools and a quiet beach as well as a lot of extra activities (tennis, volleyball, games, kids club). If you are looking for a beach with waves, this is not your place as it is on a bay (which is good for paddle boarding, kayaking)

The staff, food and activities - just great!

Charlie/Carlos at the games section is the man if you want to laugh a lot.

This is a very cozy hotel with limited amenities so if you’re used to larger all inclusive with lots of food and activities, pools, etc.

Paulina and Alex in the Activity Centre will be sure to keep you moving in Aqua-size!

These activities are offered with full energy and big smiles.

but they make you jump though many hoops to do it.

Monse and Evelin were great with the kids and the activities were fun and engaging.

The 2 restaurants, La Palapa and Trattoria, the "Sports Bar" and swim up bar are open,

The sports activites are also excellent. EXCELLENT!

Make sure to sign up for daily activities.

Carlos Balam in activities is a great activies person.

I have enjoyed the activities at The Royal Cancun for many years

There were enough activities to keep you busy for most of the day.

Everything was great, clean, great location, fun activities, good food, great service.

My favorite activity has always been sailing Beach boats.

Family style resort good for seniors,  good set of activities, facilities are well kept with friendly staff.

The chips and salsa were fantastic, though.

We asked for a room change and they wanted to charge extra.

PROS: large rooms and very clean, no waves on the beach if you have small children, friendly staff CONS: Very limited food options that get old quickly, you have to carry and swipe your room card for everything making it a nuisance to order food or drinks.

From bingo, dancing, cards, ping pong to water sports and bicycling.

but if it is a Credit card, money comes back to you five days after you checked out and too late for a claim if there was a mistake.

The charity charges can be taken off your bill.

Let's just somehow show us a list on how much things will cost because not everyone is made of money just because we pay for a trip does not mean we have the funds available. .

There is a small charge added to your bill for some of the more expensive and elaborate meals.

Use credit cards without a foreign transaction fee.

After booking months ahead of time, they put my rooms apart not together.. not mentioning that the front desk guy had me waiting 1 hour to check in without helping me at all … 
And then at check out time they charge me $28 dollars for each day I stay for the cleaning service …
Ridiculous because it should be free as we paid $2500 for 4 nights 5 days and did not include food or anything… worse experience ever .
