**my only change would be a room with a balcony next time as the one without felt rather dark (as they are internal facing)  onto a  garden area in the middle of the building so as we were on the second floor we  had no sunlight .

but would suggest that a sea view room is recommended as the internal rooms did not have balconies, and we were told they were quite dark, but still comfortable.

On arrival i was very unhappy with our room i requested a sea view and was told this was subject to availability, we was given a room which was smaller than my bathroom back home and had one window which when you looked out was facing a white wall, the room was so dark and dingey and totally not what i expected.

As I have been spoilt with the rooms I have stayed in I would recommend paying a little extra for one with a balcony or sea view as the inside rooms are very very dark with hardly any light and the one I was in was very small.

The bed is 2 singles with a mattress across both very comfortable our only problem was not waking up until late because it was so quiet and dark because of black out curtains absolute bliss.

but the corridors were quite dark, to be honest it wouldn't be my first choice in calpe which is a  shame as was really looking forward to it

They are very dark and we needed the lights on in the room every time we entered it!

but dark and the changing room is sole less, no pampering here.

Walking distance to old town.. and lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance..
My one complaint is the corridors far too dark.

Only other negative was the lighting in corridors and stairs, it was really dark and may not be suitable for older people or anyone with poor eyesight.

but..it was dark and the windows were very small and looked out into a courtyard opposite other rooms.

The only thing I didn't like is that the corridors at night are quite dark

It was very dark and there was one medium size window looking into an inner court yard.

Regretted not booking a sea view room as we looked out onto another part of the hotel which made room dark.

We had a standard room which has no balcony and a view over a court yard this did make the room quite dark.

The corridors of the hotel are really dark and could do with more lights.

Our room was internal and if I went back I would spend the extra and get a sea view only because the room was dark with no natural sunlight and no balcony.

The room was clean and comfortable, we had sea views so really lovely .

Great menus every night, and I always found something I could happily eat,  and our room was spotless.

The room was immaculately presented, both beds had mini gifts of sleep scent and foot massage lotion and every day on return from our adventures the rooms were returned to this pristine state by the excellent house staff.

The size, comfort, facilities and cleanliness of our room were excellent.

The room was very clean & the bed was very comfortable,the only downside possibly was that we had a street view so it made the room very dark.

Maids where really great friendly and rooms spotless reception a quick check in although we had to wait an hour for room as we taxied from airport.Breakfast very good something for everyone unfortunately it rained a lot of the time so we confined to hotel nothing to do

Our (standard) room was clean and very well presented, with a bed you could fit an entire family in.

The hotel is spotlessly clean the rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard.

The rooms were very clean, and spacious, there are different levels, some with balcony and some with courtyard view, depending how much you are willing to pay.

Everything about this hotel says quality, the room was clean, beautifully decorated and we were provided with lots of “goodies” to enhance our stay.

but the views are well worth the extra money waking up to the beach, good evening entertainment, great food and a massive food choice, rooms were very clean and everyone was very sociable, even had a couple of days where they bought us a free gift up to the room one day it was a fan when it was hot, the next day it was chocolates very nice touch.

The hotel itself was excellent, the rooms were spotless and very comfortable.

Room cleaning service was excellent , they always left our room spotless clean as well as leaving us water and ample toiletries daily.coffee making machine and hairdryer also in room.

Check in is the slowest check in i have ever experienced with many people not queuing and simply pushing in with the hotel staff saying nothing, again leaving me feel uncomfortable.

This was all very obvious to see leaving us feeling very awkward, embarrassed & uncomfortable, which I was shocked as we’ve always been made to feel special on previous visits.

The only gripe with this hotel is the pool area is far too small for the amount of people they have staying in the hotel and they put so many sun beds pool side, it becomes uncomfortable and claustrophobic.

My only other gripe is that the seats we had on our balcony were very uncomfortable to sit on for a pre dinner drink.

One suggestion for balcony furniture, the metal chairs are very, very uncomfortable without cushions, rattan chairs would be better if you intend to spend time on the balcony reading, the sunbeds were comfy enough

but me feet were left dangling and this was a little uncomfortable.

I brought my wife here for her birthday  were do I start 
 The staff are useless and ignorant 
The beds and pillows are very uncomfortable the glass sinks are not fitted just sitting loose the shower screens are useless and dangerous the amount of water on floor after using shower is unreal pointless having a screen the floors are not nonslip so it is very accident prone with the sharp glass edges everywhere  im surprised someone hasn't already been injured.

We did find the chairs on the balocony uncomfortable as these were metal upright seats.

but the chairs were a bit basic and uncomfortable to spend very long enjoying it, however, this is being very picky and asking for perfection!!

The price is quite high for the area and the balcony is barely useable because they only provide a couple of uncomfortable metal chairs and no sunloungers.

One remark perhaps, a sunbed on the terrace would have been welcome, now we had only two rather uncomfortable chairs.

but lacked atmosphere and furnishings, pool area small for size of hotel and sun bed cushions had been thrown into a closed glass fronted pool side restaurant so were not available for use and looked a mess, these sunbeds are extremely uncomfortable without cushions, hotel was altogether stark and lacking in atmosphere it reminded me of an airport.

but so badly managed as to make every meal uncomfortable.

Aqualandia is definitely worth a visit with the kids.

It presents as a family hotel and you can expect lots of young spanish mums, dads and well behaved children.

The entertainment team were great for children and the daily aqua aerobics was really good.

There were lots of families with young (pre-school) children at the hotel the week we were there and they seemed to be having a great time.

There is also a kids club and a mini disco session in the evenings for the children.

Good for couples and plenty of activities for the children.

Whether you are a picky child; vegetarian; vegan; gluten or dairy free there were choices to suit.

Everything about the hotel was excellent - staff, location, entertainment, children’s activities.

Toni, Maxi, Fran and Diana were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating of our needs as a family with young children.

Stayed here with the kids and grandparents for the October midterm.

We booked 7nights away for the three of us (7yr old daughter), & can truly say this was such a fabulous hotel!!

every day there are activities for kids and adult as well.

but we booked for a relaxing night away from the kids.

‘Fran’ in particular polite and well mannered individual great with kids my daughter Esme is his biggest fan.

Although there were plenty of children it was not a problem at all.

This hotel is a good four star the room was spotless super king size bed very comfy large tv  47 inch  free wifi and safe bathroom very large and also spotless good  powerful shower, dining good selection at breakfast lunch and dinner , came back home nice and relaxed .thank you hotel ifach for a nice enjoyable stay .

Room was spotless, huge, great views and water in fridge and complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee etc.

The rooms are spotless and the only fault I have is the rooms get very hot, the air conditioning isn’t great, and the fridge isn’t actually a fridge !

Another great stay at this lovely hotel , this is our 3 rd visit every thing about the hotel the friendly staff the food comfortable rooms and and very clean .Also in a great location close to a lovely beach and promenade and also the old town

The room was cleaned to a good standard daily and there was even a kettle with tea and coffee etc topped up daily, a generous supply of toiletries and a free safety deposit box.

The rooms are spotless,  towels are changed every day,  bedding every three days.

Rooms were kept clean and the hotel as a whole was very clean.

The lifts can be slow when the hotel is full.

By comparison with its immediate high-rise neighbours the Ifach Hotel is architecturally quite attractive, and the reception area is light and welcoming  All of its floors are served by 4 lifts, and we found them all slow and feeling in need of upgrading or replacement .

Only downside was the slow and very small lifts.

The food is very bland and lacking in any flavour, and can taste all the same after a week, there was no atmosphere in the dinning area, which was crapped and service was slow, and it felt quite oppressive - a little music in the background would help.

Lifts often slow and the shower was either too could or too hot.

The bar in the main area is a place to avoid, the service is very slow, the drinks are all generic unless you ask for a particular brand and when asked if they had a red Rioja wine I was told No, only one choice of red wine and it was rubbish.

but you have to go to reception and get a different code for each device which changes every day (or sooner) and is very slow especially outside of the foyer.

Super slow checkin, and front desk agent did not greet us at all , looked like he didnt want to be there at all.

Visited with Jet2 Holidays on an all inclusive basis with a standard double room first week in July.

Most enjoyable stay, very clean hotel, good location and very helpful staff, the breakfast was ideal with enough selection for everyone, it is close to the beach, bars, restaurants and all other amenities, would visit again.

I felt very ‘covid’ safe with the protocols in place at the hotel and look forward to my next visit.

This was our second visit to this hotel and approved of the changes made by the new management in the last two years; especially the lay-out etc of the dining room.

We have just returned from a weeks stay, having visited Calpe before this was the best hotel we have  stayed in.

I have visited Calpe twice before on a day trip from a nearby resort

I have been to the ifach twice ,the first visit in early October couldn't fault this lovely hotel we arrived quite late  about ten pm,had parked on the small residents parking area at front of hotel  took us about 15 minutes to check in as only night person was on duty

We have been visiting Calpe now for 15-20 years always have a great time when we visit.

Good position for the promenade and for visiting other areas along the coast.

but no iron or tea/coffee making facilities and I think with these additions the hotel could easily be 4* rated.

Wifi is free in the hotel for up to three devices (for a couple) and there is also a fridge in the room and a free-to-use safe. However, there are no tea / coffee making facilities (which as Brits I think we're used to!)

However, no coffee making facility, and the balcony was a bit of a disappointment - a sort of wedge shaped design with only enough room for a couple of chairs.

The floors were lovely marble stone   The only negative is that  we stayed in room 403 and on our last night the upstairs room was very noisy, sounded as if someone was walking up and down all night and moving furniture.

Our view was over a low roof of a block of flats next door which was used to dump broken furniture etc.

No idea why they felt the need to keep moving furniture

There’s a small shop that sells basic items open 6 days a week .

Had to leave window open and was very noisy at night in the weekend.

Only issue with staying in Calpe, local shops and restaurants close round 10.30 at night unless you go in July where they may be open till a little later.

I`m a little reluctant to post our experiences here due to wanting a room at our convenience & our review may hinder an open vacancy !!

There is a pool level and breakfast restaurant (which did not appear open during our stay) Step out the front door and you are immersed in seafood restaurants!

I went on to order hotel for me and my children of 13 and 14, we would stay for 4 nights.

My husband, son and I stayed at this hotel earlier this month - the sofa bed for our son was surprisingly comfortable and our room was very clean, as was the whole hotel.

but due to availability got a double, the bed was very comfortable ,the size of the room just right and very clean, the room had a good view of Ifach rock.

The rooms were spotless had everything you needed including a fridge and safe and were cleaned every day.

All of the staff were friendly and efficient and the room was spotlessly clean.

The room are immaculate and cleaned on a daily basis.

Hotel Porto Calpe is such a friendly hotel lovely rooms and a fantastic breakfast the staff are very helpful the rooms are spotless.

Near all the bars and marina , staff friendly , a good base if you want to get out and about and need a clean room .

The rooms are clean and modern with aircon, wifi and tv (although the TV in room 402 is stuck on audio description on uk channels) lol.

The Girl on reception was very friendly & helpful & like i said, the room was spotlessly clean.

I really can't understand the poor reviews of this hotel.

The breakfast system was also very poor & not implemented, tables not clean & the food was inedible, I’ve never gone to a hotel where there was nothing to eat, usually the fruit is ok not on this occasion it was dry & old.

Food was really poor, more like a 2 star.

I have to mention the poor air condition,

The quality of the meat on both nights was very poor.

The reception staff were miserable and customer service was poor, we asked for use of the safe in our room and waited several hours despite repeated requests and also had to pay for the use of the safe.

Stayed many times in Cape and this is not 4 star, no tea/coffee facility in rooms, no mention of menu for dinner in rooms, no mention of TV channels, in all poor for a 4 star rated hotel.

Overall this is very poor value for money and we will not be returning.

but poor management and little/no customer service.

but didn't seem happy in their jobs and had fairly brusque manners. We asked why our rooms weren't as booked (we'd booked triples) but were told the rooms we had were basically the same as a triple (when clearly not true!)

I asked for towels for teh hotel pool and were told we had to buy our own and could not use the towels from the rooms.

Biggest gripe bathroom ceiling fell on my head on arrival not any of the hotel management has asked for my well being.Hotel staff stare at you if you are some sort of alien for making a complaint

this ruined our sleep for the rest of the holiday and it was very warm in the rooms - when we asked about this they shrugged and said it was cold outside!

I thought I'd try to find somewhere to leave my suitcase and, so, asked the staff in the Sol y Mar if they would let me leave it in 'left luggage'.

but for some reason were not asked for this.

I asked where the 7up is she replied we no have and grabbed the 20€ I had in my hand I snatched the 20€ back and was then shouted at give me money !!

However on ordering I was asked to collect our meal 10 minutes later.

The room was clean and well furnished, a fridge always handy.

The room was clean and tidy 2 single beds, on the 5th floor, our view was across the street

The hotel room is clean and average size.

Clean rooms and big enough for comfortable stay .

Very clean would not say it's dated or needs modifications just relax and enjoy yourself forget the appalling welcome and the rotten goodbye it's the bit in between that matters the rooms are clean the cleaning staff are fab and friendly.

We were in room 414 and putting aside shower and cleanliness the room was brilliant with a full on sea view alas the balcony was tiny

I would mention that the cleaning ladies are very neat and the room was always clean.

The rooms were clean and it was nice to have a mini fridge in the room that we were free to use.

If they want guests to spend in hotel, advertise what's on offer, great sea views from balcony, and clean room, great breakfast.

but no English channels on TV not even news..very large lip,/step over to terrace from room very bad for elderly or disabled.. breakfast ok  ..evening meal   very mediocre had better 10 euro menus    dining room design very and uninviting.many steep steps to main entrance

On the down side, the TV was very small for a large modern room.

No English TV other than BBC news channel,

Secondly there are no English channels on the Tv only BBC world news so if your looking for a early night watch a film with a nice bottle of wine forget it just stay out in the bar.

The facilities are very very basic, there's no room service, no shop, no kettle in the room to even make a coffee, TV is tiny with no english channels.

but basic wifi and only Spanish TV channels.

The satellite Tv didn't work in the rooms.

20 euro to bring us a bottle of water!!!!

The pool area was shocking, the water was discoloured & very dirty due to sand & body parts, it was disgusting, there were no covid restrictions in place and the beds were all so close & the space between guests was not adhered to, it was so packed, we couldn’t stay, nor did we want to.

No cold water was available at evening meal time unless you purchased it.

There would be unlimited hot water that I couldn’t stop.

but we still expected a bottle of water on arrival at the very least and it would be better if tea/coffee facilities were available to room only booking just so you can make a drink of some sort at any time as some people that maybe can’t sleep can make a drink into the middle of the night without disturbing anyone they don’t need to provide the tea and coffee just kettle cups and spoon

- 1 single issue -right under the A/C one day water started dripping - we've reported at the front desk , went out for a stroll and when we were back, leakage was solved and there was no sign of any malfunction - so fast and effective problem solving.

They do not provide drinking water, you can buy it from a machine in reception, 1 euro for half litre bottle.

but unfortunately we were left a little disappointed with the very basic room and cleanliness of the room, there were no tea or coffee making facility's in the room nor any water, there was however a mini fridge to put your own water or alcohol in.

Leave a child unsupervised in the shower as the water alternates from freezing cold to absolutely scalding hot this was the same for both rooms that we occupied.

We had to have maintenance in 3 times to make things safe, our air condition unit dripped water faster than the shower!!

The only negatives I have is the breakfast not freshly cooked and luke warm at best.

The first floor pool is in a weird spot which doesn't get the sun and the water is freezing.

And no water to be had from the vending machines on 2 occasions.
