however that couldn’t be far from the truth every sing staff member we encountered were absolutely Fabulous they were polite and was always on the ball with drinks if you an empty or near to empty glass they would come straight back over and ask if you would like another one.

but would have appreciated more lively entertainment in the evening.

I loved all the pool games and aquacise was Brillant, certainly better than my classes in the UK!

We had a great time and would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were able to play tennis free of charge (other activities may be chargeable).

Entertainment is important to us, the website says that the entertainment wouldn’t be out of place at the west end and offered glitzy evening shows, so we thought it sounded perfect, we are a fun loving couple ….

Facilities are lovely , we spent most of our time in the activity pool and the children took full advantage of all the activities on offer and they loved every minute of it.

Our daughter has used the kids club a couple of times and loves it… they have different themes each day and do activities.

I enjoyed the archery and poolside darts and boules.

The family activities during the day are great and my daughter loved the kids club.

We went into the family friendly area a few times and it’s a completely different ball game and I wouldn’t rate that more than a 3*.

The yoga instructor made me feel very rushed and insisted that all the participants put their heels to the floor when doing a  deep squat.

But I WOULD still describe it as excellent, and a definite step up from 4* TUI venues I’ve stayed in.

This would ensure that all children can play these games?

There are also some good activities elsewhere on site albeit very poorly advertised - who knew there is a 36 hole minigolf free to guests.

Other family areas looked really complete for a different sort of stay (map showed a farm, sports facilities and more)

There’s the protur club a couple of minutes walk from the back of the hotel which has clay tennis courts, archery (very  enjoyable) and other sports.

At breakfast you get drinks flasks of tea and coffee,  I have tea and found congealed coffee all inside the rims.

although we would encourage children to try some of the main buffet as it catered for all.

We stayed in a swim up room in the adults area of the Biomar and really couldn’t  fault it 
The room was modern, spacious and clean and the terraces and pool area really lovely with plenty of sun beds and the swim up bar
The food was some of the best that we have experienced in an all inclusive resort - varied and delicious.

Drinks were plentiful with large measures and the waiting staff were so good that you rarely had to wait long to get served.

Breakfast is okay as it starts at 7:30am,

Loads of variety at the buffet, a la cartes are really nice especially the grill.

Food in both the buffet and A la cartes were great, all 3 A la  cartes we tried offered great tasting food and service.

A nice selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a theme each evening too.

The food in the adult buffet always had a great selection, my favourite meal was breakfast.

Dining and Bar service 

The buffet restaurant in the adult area provided ample options through breakfast, lunch and dinner service with swift service throughout, the chefs on hand to do your choice of fish and meat, and once a week a bbq was added to the options

There are also dining options at the adult pool bar for lunch, (1pm-3pm) and this was in our view perhaps the best option for lunch, quite a limited menu

The food is great, lots of choice and never over crowded in the buffet.

This gave us a change from our normal buffet restaurant.

The pool and jacuzzi area is everything you want with sunbeds in the shallows too which was needed in the 36c heat
FOOD 
we enjoyed a couple lunchtime snacks by the pool including daily special of garlic prawn pasta tummy
The Norwegian sandwich I'd recommend also
Breakfast lunch and Dinner in main restaurant was always outstanding there were so many options including a choice of healthy options which I was glad about
Themed nights included shushi
Indian and Mexican and an outdoor BBQ
We ate at Green and grill which was nice

Quite frankly it was phenominal - so much choice and it was all delicious.

The buffet restaurants provide a good variety of foods to cater for different people.

The buffet was good with a large variation of food with daily themes.

The amount of effort and presentation that goes into the buffet restaurant is just fantastic.

The food and drink through the days was delicious, so much to choose from too!

The buffet is ok lots to choose from if your in early enough they have a different theme each night.

The adult only pool food was delicious as was all the food we ate at Lyra restaurant so the food was definitely a positive and a thumbs up from us.

Safe to say, due to our lack of ability to get up to the pool (unable to take pram up due to staircase) and so unsafe for our little boy to use the rooftop facilities, we didn't get to us the rooftop pool,

My children were shivering when they got out and the staff refused to heat them before the 1st October when we were due to leave. Horrendous!!

If you are due to be there soon you will have an epic holiday, I don't doubt it.

but it was very hot due to the new air con rules.

( A formal complaint has been raised with TUI)

/ARRIVAL

We unfortunately arrived in the early hours of the morning due to the delayed flight,

I do believe that a holiday experience will differ due to a number of factors

Last night was disrupted sleep due to a bell hop/ porter trying to enter our room by mistake at 3 am apparently on the wrong floor.

We noticed a few issues with people obtaining cut feet in the pool due to loose tiles, my son found pieces of sharp loose tiles floating in the pool, we informed the lifeguard

Service

The reason I can’t give 4 stars is due to the issues with the service.

Not enough staff overall.. impossible to swim due to the huge inflatables, I even witnessed a man take his child for a wee in the pool !

We read a lot of reviews before visiting this hotel and was a bit worried due to negative comments,

Only cons would be evening entertainment in the adults area is lacklustre however there are bars close by, also as it’s new and probably due to Covid the staff is limited so service is a bit slow

Having not been away for 3 years due to covid thought we'd treat ourselves to a luxury holiday,

but due to the amount of toddlers we made the decision to cancel the booking for the Italian restaurant.

No information is shown around the hotel, presumably due to COVID.

An hour later, there was still no taxi and our flight was due to take off in 3 hours, the hotel is an hour away from the airport.

Lack of wine glasses - serving wine in tumblers due to glass shortages.

Yes, I booked this hotel due to false advertising.

Finally I would also advise be vigilant when in the pool as we had it closed due to someone having a pooh in there so you may want to keep an eye on that too.

Resulting in us being locked out our room at our toddler’s bed time
The kids pool isn’t warm enough - our 1 year old was shivering 
You have to buy a 2 euro swimming hat for the spa - resembling a primary school swim class
The spa is drab and generally not a 5* experience 
The gym has rusted weight plates and equipment that is doesn’t work

It is absolutely devastating for us have no holiday for years due to covid.

You don't need to worry about buying premium brands as what is on offer is fine.

I raised my concern with reception and we were offered another ala carte meal.

We tried the a la carte restaurant's, all offered outstanding food and service, we rated them all equally.

On arrival, the old reception block looks tired and came across a little fusty, not a Sensatori start to a holiday, although the reception service was good, and included a lot of detail about our stay

The adult block has recently been added into the offer here, and therefore is still establishing its grounds,

The grill in the day offered snacks (burgers/hotdogs etc)

I recall being offered sparkling wine or a drink at other sensatori’s which was such a nice touch

Yoga class- 
I do yoga frequently at home and the yoga classes on offer were part of the reason I booked the resort.

We were offered a drink (cava or orange juice).

but our favourite was the international buffet due to the selection and variety of food on offer.

My advice is, if your kids don’t like what’s on offer at the al la cartes then you can always take then to the buffet afterwards.

Note that you need to collect a voucher from the Biomar reception in order to use the mini golf.

We were offered a space for each the day after.

It was a lovely respite for us and him - he would have been bored without the variety that offered, and also gave him respite from the heat a bit.

We enjoyed the music at the adults only bar in the evening, we both commented that it would have been nice to have some nuts or Olives on offer at the bar prior to dinner.

The children’s food counter is appalling, dry pizza and burnt chips every day and night, luckily my daughter likes lots of fruit and as such eats plenty and it is nice, as long as you like Melon & Pineapple, they don’t offer much else.

It would be lovely to be served nuts/ nibbles with drinks at the bars as previous hotel stays have offered.

The room is open plan and so the bathroom is open, I can understand why some people would struggle with this

We arrived back at the room, the front door left wide open,

It had an open plan living, sleeping and bathroom area with a double sink and bath; the shower and toilet were separated by a glass door.

My only one complaint is the bathroom which is open to the bedroom so you can see everything when someone is showering or in the bath.

People were putting towels reserving beds before they were open at around 7.30-8.00am which meant by 9.00am there were no beds left.

Boutique shop was never open, had to get receptionist to call her mobile if she answered, one day the manager was so rude to us about it!

Just come here with an open mind and not expecting anything.. you are meant to be on a holiday!

As others have commented the large open space inside the rotunda seemed without atmosphere and to be wasted.

Lobby - there is no reception in the adults only lobby, and as impressive as it is with its open circular layout, it’s a very empty space void of any atmosphere or function.

We found a lot of the hotel just wasn't open.

I would say that the hotel information was limited and this should be better, we had to guess or ask others about where to eat what was on or what time things were open.

They were half full despite being told they were fully booked we were told at reception Asian was only open 2 nights a week!!!

Service: There was a very bad smell outside our room (akin to an open sewer) so that it became impossible to use our swim-up.

The pool bar which is left open at the front into the water had some idiot climbing in when it was shut.

Health and safety issues a plenty, nothing open apart from buffet and Piano bar for first 3 days, freezing cold pools, not heated as promised.

The Green & Grill was open for snack in the afternoon

but it only serves snacks the same time as the lunch restaurants are open.

is closed on Mondays (unsure if this will change in the summer months as given it is only open 10am-6pm it does seem odd).

The location was great and a 10 minute walk to the beach was lovely.

Food - lots of choice, able to book at the restaurants easily
Location - situated within a ten minute walk of two lovely beaches.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants, and a nature reserve type thing that you can walk through.

The grounds were really clean as I said every staff member that walked passed smiled and said hello.

The castle opposite is a pleasant 1.5 mile walk and there is a cafe and nice views when you get there.

We walked to S’Illott and Calla Millor, the latter having more shops and cafes.

The 4 a la carte restaurants are in the family part of the hotel, which was absolutely fine, it was nice to walk across to the other part.

There is a sports facility located behind the hotel, it’s about a five minute walk away; if you ask at reception they can provide you with a map.

At most we walked to the small town of sa coma for a short wander.

It is a short walk from the beach, and it's accompanying bars and restaurants. Quibbles.

- great location near 2 beaches and a nature walk opposite which is beautiful to walk around.

We did a walk to Punta de n’Amer  which is definitely worth doing.

Sa Coma beach is a 10 min walk from the hotel.

This is a lovely hotel which is spread over a large complex with a 10 minute walk to the beach.

Location

- You are 5 mins walk from local shops and 10 mins walk to the beach.

We  walked to Cala Millor one morning which was great for a bit of shopping.

10 min walk to the centre all on the flat

Also a first all inclusive where wrist bands are not worn, anyone could walk in from off the street and give a room number!

The breakfast selection was brilliant with amazing views over the sea.

The breakfast was the prefect start to every day and the waitress were absolutely wonderful.

Food was a buffet with options of meat and fish cooked to order was very good.

Breakfast and dinner are both very good with Bscon and eggs cooked to order whichbis a welcome change.

I was even provided freshly baked gluten bread at breakfast and evening meal.

What we loved:

- Breakfast and dinner are really good value for money and absolutely delicious.

The breakfast at the hotel was pleasant I like the personal tea/coffee and the orange juice was nice.

The food is excellent and there is a great selection at both breakfast and dinner, there is always something to suit every taste.

Position and Comfort level in the room change was acceptable and Breakfast  arrangements and quality very good.

Allergens were carefully labelled /explained at every evening meal and freshly baked gluten free bread was provided at each breakfast.

Our stay was bed and breakfast and each morning we were met with an array of delicious choices of food, with picturesque views from the restaurant.

High quality food was served at breakfast and Dinner.

The breakfast is a delicious buffet with a wide variety of foods - we ate here every day as it was so good (same with the lunch on the terrace, really nice and quick service)

The rooms are gorgeous and air conditioned, with maids bringing new towels and fresh bedding every day.

The staff at the hotel were superb being very friendly and helpful at all times, There was plenty of choice at the buffet breakfast and evening dinner.

Spotlessly clean, lovely bright rooms & the food it amazing, buffet & choice of meat, fish etc., cooked individually by a wonderful friendly chef, the crepe flambé are delicious!

Amazing breakfasts and a wonderful choice each night as dinner, especially amazing fresh fish.

The food in the hotel is excellent with some food cooked to order including bacon eggs cooked either fried poached or omelettes with different ingredients then in the evening there was steak and various meats and fish cooked by the brilliant chef Tomeu 'perfecto'
A big thank you to the waiters  and waitresses who all worked so hard particularly Isabel who looked after all the guests on her own one night when there was a singer on.

The dining experience for breakfast and evening meal was one of the best we have experienced and we have stayed in some 5 star hotels not as good.

The pool was also kept very clean and we had no trouble getting a sun bed after breakfast.

This is a family hotel and the young children were a delight to watch enjoying the pool and beach.

In Cala Millor there are plenty of water sports to suit teenagers and the scene is a bit younger and more lively.

I went with my daughter & my parents & it was the first time we’d chosen smaller non all-inclusive hotel, & we were pleasantly surprised.

Just returned from a week at the Gran Sol, I went with my daughter (who’s 28) and parents, this is the 4th time I’ve stayed here and won’t be the last.

We had a room with an incredible view which was great as we were in our room more often with the baby.

There were mainly toddlers and babies during our stay.

We had some great evenings at the sister hotel with a jive music dance trio, Jersey Boys tribute band, and a non-PC comedian who sings opera.

I travelled with my daughter and we loved the quality of the rooms.

but we came here with our teenage son and he found friends and things to do easily enough.

We have just had a lovely week at the Gran Sol with our 3month old baby.

The hotel has direct access to a gorgeous beach protected from waves, so it's calm and shallow and perfect for children.

Had private taxi from airport and bell boy from sister hotel waiting and took luggage to hotel as outside pedestrianised, was greeted with glass of punch and check in very smooth.

Just returned home from a week stay with my husband, children (aged 12 & 14) and my parents. Hotel is faultless - friendly and attentive staff; clean, large rooms with complimentary fresh fruit and water on arrival; food varied and delicious (we were half board - go for it!)

The staff were all very friendly and accommodating to our baby, and the duty Manager was very kind in giving us a box to sterilize our bottles in etc.

Couldn't fault any of it, thank you Gran Sol for an amazing first holiday with our little boy!

but also good for children and the less adventurous.

but towards the end of the second week, quite a few children came in.

My daughter and grandaughter had room 210.

attention to the lighting system.

Although it sounds ridiculous mastering the lights in the room is a challenge – there are instructions in the room book

However, we found the lighting system weird.

Because the room was so gloomy we had to keep the lights on whenever we were in there.

The room lighting was very difficult to get to grips with, I have no idea how it worked, it was a mission just turning them off at night!

You get one key card which activates lighting, power points, TV and air conditioning in the room (apart from the minibar).

The lighting system was a challenge and not really flexible enough to provide a subdued light,

Just a couple of minor quibbles: the lighting system in the bedroom allows you to dim the lights

Other niggles with the hotel are:- the lights in the room (mentioned a number of times in other reviews), it was difficult not to get water over the bathroom floor when having a shower, the screens are too short and leak and why are room safes always charged for as an extra?

The lighting left us a bit baffled initially,

These are very confusing and some nights we had to resort to undoing the light bulbs to turn them off.

lights on/off in the night, crackling blue light show and trip switch gave up after 3 .

though I must agree that the lighting was a little difficult to follow.

but if pushed:
Take a cardi or scarf into dining room as air con very cold
Lighting in rooms complicated
Nowhere to do hair apart from in bathroom which was too hot after bathing
Beds a little hard
Indoor pool only 1m deep so not good for swimming, slightly disappointed with the rooftop pool and gym really.

but a bit dismal as the door to the balcony is quite small so its not letting much light in and the balcony is quite small being a wedge shape.

There were a few minor niggles with the bedroom such as a lack of drawer space, no electric point near the mirror & a rather complicated lighting system,

How many hotels do you know where you can dim all the lights individually to your liking ?

This was very dangerous and should have not been permitted.

but I do know that it stretched alarmingly when loaded with weights and was in my opinion very dangerous.

Hire bicycles and trikes built for four, it was quite dangerous on foot whilst out walking,although there was an allocated path for them,there wasn't much room for both cyclists and pedestrians.👎

Once inside the hotel was pleasant,we were greeted warmly,our cases whisked away to our room,as we registered in.

but was shady most of the day (delicate pale skin!).

Just watch out for the cycle path directly outside the Hotel. Scary!!

though the roads are a little ropey and in places downright scary!

however they did this in the afternoon a few times a week when there were families trying to relax and play on the beach which was a little dangerous and noisy!

When the pool gets shady late afternoon you can go to the beach as they don't charge then.

- Bedding has Velcro on it that doesn’t really close, so can be irritating and painful in bed (especially with sun burn!).

Out of the 10 nights we were there, we had to endure a total of four days of nearby smokers.

The hotel has a strange smell and the atmosphere is a bit dull, I'd say.

We had to keep our terrace doors closed most of the time as our neighbours were heavy smokers and the smoke wafted quite strongly into our room.

Tiles in bath/shower mouldy (room no. 103).

Big problem with seaweed at the beach adjoining the hotel, a tractor constantly working trying to move it, extremely smelly!

However, Cala Bona is not the best resort being full of rubbish shops, British bars, Tattoo parlours
and smokers.

The view from the balcony was a game changer - amazing sea views and a nice spot to relax!

Second floor side seaview room was spotless, and very comfortable.

A stunning hotel with great service, food and staff.

There is also a lovely swimming lagoon in the sea right in front of the hotel.

Recently stayed at the Gran Sol, beautiful clean hotel right next to the beach & sea with a lovely pool and sun bathing area.

We checked in and were pleased our reservation request for a sea view room had been honoured.

Great views, great access to beach, peacefull yet close to bars & restaurants.

There are beautiful sunset bars seconds walk away

Well we were extremely impressed with the room having both a bedroom and a living room plus the added bonus of a very large balcony with table and chairs plus two sun loungers overlooking the beach and sea.

We had a sea view room which was lovely and well stocked with toiletries, tea/coffee and the lovely added touch of a bowl of fruit on arrival.

but it's a nice view to look over whilst relaxing & there are plenty of others to find if you hire a bike or take a boat trip to Cala Rajada.The staff can't do more for you, little touches like tapas around the pool & a delicious lunch time menu which is very reasonable.

Room     - clean, beautiful view from the balcony.

I loved the sea view from the third floor superior rooms.
