The waitress assured us that it was not going to be charged to our room

The following day I went to a more basic restaurant had a few tacos and beer and noticed a 10% service fee on my invoice.

We were charged over $300 of “fees” above and beyond tips, taxes and mandatory charges.

After many discussions, producing paperwork showing where I was booked, and a plea for them to honor their obligation, they refused and said my only option was to take the room at the lesser resort and that was it, no compensation/upgrade for my loss of value, no resort credit, just take it or leave it.

Despite the hotel charges you 30% of tax and service in your booking, you need to bring extra cash to tips the waiters or they let you wait for your drink and food forever.

They incorrectly billed me then and have continued to charge my credit card.

They do push the timeshare pitch and aren’t always up front with how things are charged.

No towel cards mean people leave their towels on their chairs even when they are gone for the day and new arrivals can’t tell if a chair is truly available.

Gym doesn’t open till 7am and there is an $11 US charge, never been to a property that charges to use the gym.

After going there for 17 years (AS AN OWNER) I don't like the treatment I been given, PLEASE BE AWARE OF CHARGES PLACED ON YOUR ACCOUNT.

To make matters worse, their only concern was getting our card to pay for the new nights stay, and not the health and welfare of 5 of his sick guests.

In fact, probably worth skipping the towel card completely as we simply gave our room number to get towels.

Shame on Playa Grande Resorts for charging their Disabled Guests extra.

After 1 hour, we finally got our room keys and were then ushered over to speak to the concierge to receive our towel cards.

This place was packed while we were there so the fact that they could remember who we were and what we ordered seemed kind of important to be sure we were being charge accordingly.

Imagine walking to the iconic arc along the beach then crossing over the the Beach of Love and The Divorce beach.

You can walk down the beach to get close to where divorce beach is,

It's absolutely gorgeous and if you're able to climb over the rocks you can get to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach!

You are also technically within walking distance of lands end, lovers beach, and divorce beach.

The hotel is right across the street from the marina.

Only complaint - our room faced the marina where Sr Frogs is located.

Playa Grande Resort boasts a convenient location near Cannery Beach and a short stroll to Medano Beach through the nearby marina.

It was great to have the resort walking distance to the Marina.

Great location, lovely property, easy access to the marina and all downtown Cabo offers.

The resort is close to town and the marina and is easy to walk to everything.

The best resort on the All the people are very friendly, something that really pleases me is that every time we visit this beautiful resort we are always greeted with a big smile, the quality of the hotel is too good and best of all it is literally next to the Marina.

We walked all over marina at night and always felt safe.

The rates were reasonable especially as the location is within walking distance of the marina.

The proximity to downtown and the marina eliminate the need for a rental car, you are walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shops.

Beautiful resort, then walk down the hill 5 minutes and you are at the marina and downtown.

The marina and shopping is a 10-15 minute walk from the resort which made it very easy to do anything you wanted to do off of the resort.

We did like that it was close to the marina!

Stayed in two different rooms - an ocean view penthouse (2 bedroom) and a marina penthouse (2 bedroom) on “the ridge.” There are pool renovations happening - there are 4 pools, one of the four will be out of commission until they’re all completed.

It’s a 10 minute walk to the Marina and 20 minutes to downtown Cabo San Lucas!

Although not far from Marina and "downtown" in distance, the walk there is not easy nor scenic, especially on a hot day.

It was very clean with huge rooms designed with Mexican flair.

The fire dancers as well as the Mexican fiesta was so fun and awesome.

The food at the Mexican fiesta this year was top notch and ever single staff person worked extremely hard to keep us well fed and filled with the drinks of our choice.

The Mexican party night is by far my favorite part of staying here!

The Mexican Fiesta on Monday nights is fun, great local entertainment.

Some activities include the famous tequila volleyball in the pool, Mexican fiesta night, and the beach party.

but the Mexican Fiesta was extremely fun and very engaging.

So clean, the food & drinks was great, the Mexican Fiesta is highly recommended.

The Mexican Fiesta  party with food, drinks, entertainment and fireworks was amazing!! !

The weekly Mexican fiesta is a must, definitely a highlight… fireworks were pretty cool too!

Was there in 2021 the Mexican Fiesta, beach party is something you can’t miss.

She made the Mexican fiesta a great experience.

Last night this came to light after an expensive dinner for three at the steakhouse.

You tip, then you pay for additional “fees” and taxes.

At that point I figured we were going to be put in the dreaded Ridge, or forced to pay for an upgrade to be in the main resort.

Avoid the offers, starting in the airport and then in the hotel lobby at all costs.

Not sure if the price I paid matched the experience I got.

When I canceled, there was no warning that the rate was nonrefundable.

There’s an infinity pool, a water slide, and allegedly the pools up here are adults only. Here are some of my observations: 
* 4 star resort
* All inclusive meal option available
* Uber Eats is available for some local restaurants 
* Food at the resort is overpriced for the quality
* $15 taxi ride into marina shopping area 
* $120 taxi ride from airport
* walking from resort to marina (where there are restaurants and shopping) is doable

This does not make life easier for guests who want to take an Uber (instead a regular cab or or transport companies indicated by the hotel, which were more expensive) and I think only having a vehicle and passenger identification when accessing the hotel would be necessary, even with security issues.

Beware the exorbidant food and beverage costs if you don't use the meal plan.

Unbelievable service for this kind of pricing for a hotel and the most worst customer experience and service ever.

My advise is to avoid such a ripoff places

This would seem like an unfortunate price hike mishap if it wasn't for it happening again and again once you check all other seemingly great priced offerings.

Like any resort, food and drinks were underwhelming and overpriced

enough so that we had to call the Nurse on campus to bandage us up.American money is best since it is so much easier, plus when we exchanged it for pesos, there was an expensive fee.

The sports on television is very entertaining.

And *Amy and *Rodrigo with the entrainment staff are always so happy, pleasant, polite, fun and always a smile on their faces.

The entertainment staff provide a lot of fun activities such as water aerobics and volleyball.

Entertainment team does a nice job of trying to engage guests.

And to everyone else that made this trip special: the entertainment staff, the Fiesta Night dancers, the phenomenal staff at the Sports Bar, and our lovely housekeepers.

The wait staff and entertainment staff (Selma, Amy, Humberto, Luis) were the most enjoyable and the main reason we always enjoy ourselves every time we come to Playa Grande.

Lots of entertainment, everyone was always so helpful.

The Entertainment staff was wonderful especially Aiimee, who was hardworking, vibrant and always with a beautiful smile.

MC Roberto is hysterical and the entertainment team is great!

I need to give credit to the bartenders, servers, and entertainment staff by the pool!

A few employees who stood out:  Luis with the entertainment staff (water aerobics, tequila volleyball), Hector at the swim-up pool bar and our housekeeping staff for P2351.

(they rotate areas daily): Ramon, Franco,  Jaime
Entertainment staff: Aimee , and the skinny guy who played me in ping pong and judged Tequila Volleyball.

Entertainment crew were funny and the two activity nights were worth the cost.

Overall, our 7 day vacation was relaxing, entertaining, and one of the best we have taken!

The entertainment team will make it memorable.

They have employees staked on the beach to keep you from even diping your toes in the water.

but you cannot put your feet in the water as they have a security guard monitoring and keeping people safe from undertow.

Aimee, Rodrigo and Andrea were so much fun to play volleyball, exercising with water aerobics.

Take a water taxi ($25us) to the Arch and Lovers Beach for snorkeling.

So personable and made sure we always had what we wanted and needed (water haha).

He was so helpful and friendly the entire time we were here. The trip would not have been the same without him bringing us all the drinks (and water) we needed :)

The entertainment staff provide a lot of fun activities including Texas Hold 'Em, Blackjack, Ping Pong, Volleyball,  Water Aerobics, Zumba, and crafts.

He sat us at a beautiful table in front of the water, he offered exceptional service and gave us lots of shots! !

We did water aerobics, tequila volleyball and had a great time .

From tequila volleyball to water aerobics, he put a smile on everyone’s faces!

Every day they have water aerobics, cornhole and ping pong tournaments, Tequila Volleyball  and Texas Hold ‘em or Blackjack tournaments to name a few.

My husband was in our room and I went down to get us some waters from the bar.

The newer of the two adult pools has fallen into disrepair with missing tiles and murky water.

After a really fun water aerobics class, I realized the string bracelet I made on my first day had come undone and fallen off my wrist.

Warm waters with jets all around for a quick pressure massage.

I’m all about sand and water volleyball,

I enjoyed my stretching and water aerobics with her.

Great activities led by Luis, Andrea, and Aimee like morning stretching, water aerobics, and tequila volleyball.

A fun alternative is to walk to the marina (10 min walk) and pay $10 for a water taxi to take you to the lovers/ divorce beach.

This was well worth it as we got a tour around to Divorce Beach on the Pacific side and of course, the Arch.

On the other side is the Pacific Ocean,well known as divorce beach.

It is located in a residential area away from the hub bub of the marina/hotel area (It's an easy 10 minute walk to the marina area).

It was easy to walk to many of the local attractions from this spot.

I didn't find the estimates to be off, it was an easy walk to so many places.

but an easy walk and had a private patio with two chaise lounges and a comfortable hammock.

It is an easy walk to the marina and restaurants.

but close enough that it was an easy walk to all the fun.

but go left out of the hotel and straight down the hill for better sidewalks , pretty easy 10 mins walk to downtown/ marina and just about every shop/ restaurant you could ever need .

Easy walk to town, marina attractions, activities, so great if you don't want to rent a car and still check out the town.

but is within 15 minute easy walk to the marina/beach and main streets.

Even in the hot sun, it's a quick and easy walk.

although the walk there was easy enough - which we did one day went we went to the Sand Bar.

It is an easy walk to town and quiet at night.

Set a little away from the touristy part of town (a very easy 10 minute walk), you will enjoy personal service, friendly staff, and other like-minded travelers who are looking for a similar experience.

The hotel is just a bit outside of town, easy walk into town and to the beach.

While we were there they served pancakes, French toast, mushroom omelet, and eggs Benedict.

The rent comes with an amazing breakfast that is served in an outdoor palapa.

The morning breakfasts were always delicious and served with such care.

A hearty and healthy breakfast is served every morning while you relax and enjoy the quiet oasis setting.

Breakfast was served in a canopied, outdoor dining space that looked out onto the pool.

Eric, one of the owners, served us breakfast every morning including his very special “Eric’s Benedict”.

Delicious, gourmet breakfasts are served in the palapa to the sound of a gurgling fountain.

Erik was awesome and full of daily morning hugs and served us delicious drinks and breakfast.

Every morning we were served a delicious gourmet breakfast with fresh juices or smoothies on the quaint patio.

The coffee, juice and smoothies were amazing, they had plenty of clean water and they served a delicious breakfast each morning.

The Bungalows Hotel is a wonderful place to stay with amazingly delicious breakfasts served daily on the patio.

I booked a ground level,  2 bedroom room, with a small kitchen & living room, and private patio.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom bungalow with a microwave, coffee maker, and small fridge.

The two bedroom suites are comfortable and have a refrigerator and microwave so you can keep a small amount of food.

It was so nice to have a small fridge and kettle in the room.

The small kitchen area includes a french press and microwave.

The one-bedroom has a living room, kitchenette with a small refrigerator and a microwave, a bathroom with shower (no tub), and a bedroom and dressing area.

Our 'cozy suite'  featured a small kitchen, living room and yes, a cozy bedroom.

Rooms have the advantage of a small kitchenette, with a sink, fridge, kettle and microwave so, if you wanted to 'eat in' you could.

Our room was a sweet 2 bedroom, one bathroom with a small kitchen and living room area.

We stayed in one of the bungalows and had a small living area, kitchen area with microwave and small fridge, back patio, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

Our hammock bungalow was perfect with a small kitchenette (just the right size for making daily guacamole and margaritas), a comfortable king bedroom, a sitting room with daybed and most importantly, a wonderful hammock on the covered patio.

We stayed in a garden bungalow with two rooms, a small kitchen and a private hammock laden patio.

the rooms are spacious and there is a small kitchen for snacks, drinks or light meals.

However, it was clean and had a nicely equipped kitchenette (microwave, small refrigerator, French press coffee, ample counter space, sink).

It was so nice to have a little kitchenette in the room, including a small fridge.

The Cozy Suite had ample room to spread out with a separate seating area and nice sized kitchenette with microwave and small fridge.

They have free wifi and  as well,  each room comes equipped with a small fridge, microwave and a coffee maker

There is a French press coffee maker, a small microwave,  a refrigerator (small).

You have a small kitchenette, a futon, small table, comfy bed and a roomy shower.

There is no radio and the television does not get local channels,

Potential guests should also be advised that there are no televisions which may be seen as a plus for some and not so much so for others.

The only "drawback" is that there are no TVs.

Although there is no cable, there is a large selection of movies at the front desk.

Also of note - I'm not sure if I should have expected there to be NO TV.

The place does not have cable, and we don't normally watch TV while on vacation,

but we couldn't get the tv and dvd player to work.

The only TV is in the living room and we don't lay in bed to watch movies.

The only downside (although this was a bonus in my opinion) was that the TV didn't have any channels,

They are located directly in front of Baja Brewing on the water and next to Cachet Beach Club.

Everything worked, the staff kept us supplied with bottled water and cleaned every day.

Because of the stagnant water there were many mosquitoes around the property.

The pool was clean, the water perfect temperature.

The shower had good pressure and most importantly plenty of very hot water.

Bedroom was really good and comfortable, with fridge, microwave oven and complimentary water.

Morning coffee, bottled water, city maps - all supplied!

The room was clean with soft sheets, internet, a fridge, all the drinking water we could imagine needing, and DVD rentals!

The room was a good size, very clean and comfortable,  and stocked with bottled water daily.

They provide a mini fridge, water, an electric kettle and French press to make coffee.

Also they have all the free drinking water that you require.

If you want or need a nice relaxing holiday without being pestered for water aerobics bingo etc and the mad scramble for free drinks / food at the many AI hotels , this is the place for you .

They also provide a gallon of water, fridges, and A/C.

You can also ask get complimentary juice, coffee, and bottled water anytime of day.

Jugs of drinking water are supplied and the staff is always willing to supply you with juice.

When we wanted to go somewhere, we asked Erik for advice and he always steered us in the right direction, such as which water taxi company to use to visit the beaches.

A nice kitchen in each with bottled water and coffee.

As you cannot drink the tap water in Mexico each room has a large water jug with mineral water (refilled whenever you need).

They bring you juice and water by the pool.
