Caveat: because I had kept my phone on airplane mode to avoid roaming charges, I couldn’t use “find my phone” nor did my phone show the “call me message” we programmed onto the Home Screen from my husband’s phone.

As a result they charged me $760 for an “additional person.” I’ve been sitting at Agave now for 30 mins.

Also we were told there were no charges on our room so did not look at the receipt

The hotel provided shuttle guy charged us 20 us dollars per person to get back to the hotel.

but they put a hold on my credit card for $750.00, which would be "refunded on checkout".

- Towels: You get 1 towel per person and have to return your "towel card" at the end of your stay or get charged $50.

-We were double charged for the excursion anyway.

Within 7 days when it didnt show up on my credit card, I contacted the hotel and they said to dispute the charge with my credit card.

but there were many hours that deserve credit as well!

I then disputed the charge with my credit card company and despite providing proof of the erroneous charge failed to get a refund.

but you don't have to worry when EMI and EIZABETH are in charge.

but please charge it to my hes and not my heart

you get a small plastic towel card at check in.

However the front desk charged me for the full 7 days, so an additional $294 was charged to my card for a day I did not use.

I was unimpressed that at check-in I was forced to give a credit card deposit of $329 which is still pending ..I've traveled to many hotels I've never been asked for a deposit.

even though we were the only ones there the young lady at the front desk said she didn’t know how to do it so we stood there for 25min because the guy who could help us was on the phone with a customer who was disputing a charge, I could hear the whole thing.

It’s better to trust your guests to share, remove the cards and just put fresh towels out every hour or similar.

Then, the resort blamed US for this error and almost charged us MORE (no apology or kindness during that entire situation).

No towel cards , so many people just left them on the loungers and walked away so you couldn't tell if they were still being used.

They took care of my family and friends anyway at no additional charge.

We actually walked to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach along the shoreline.

We were looking forward to the walk/scramble over to divorce beach

although you can't swim at the beach at the resort, the kids loved walking the half mile down the beach to the rocks and climbing over them to Divorce Beach.

Plus we were able to walk from our beach to the arch, lovers beach and divorce beach.

We took a water taxi to Lovers Beach and walked round to Divorce beach.

The views are amazing of both the beach and the marina.

We went to the marina often for shopping and meals

Excellent show and  wonderful drone and firework display over the marina.

We were extremely fortunate to visit Sandos Finisterra in Dec. We have visited Sandos properties in Play Del Carmen yearly over the last 5 years and decided to give Finisterra a try.

Again, we went around the marina for drinks a few times, where you can get inexpensive

It is right across the street from the Marina, with lots of shopping, bar, excursion and restaurant options if you want to leave the resort.

A consideration not to be overlooked is you have direct and close access to everything on the marina and around.

The resort had unique architecture, was spotless, friendly staff, quiet location, close to Marina.

You can’t beat the location, we walked over to the marina everyday.

Walking down to the street and crossing to the marina is convenient.

The Spa Del Mar was beautiful and smelled amazing.

The marina right across the street is so convenient for excursions or just walking around..Loved everything about Sandos and will return without a doubt!

Great views of marina with morning latte from Cupcake and the ocean every afternoon from the pool and beach.

The food was great, the people and service was great, this is where you want to come to be around the marina and close to your resort.

Location:  great location, easy to find, easy to walk down to the marina, great view of both sides (ocean/marina).

Sandos Finisterra is in a great location - easy walk into town and the marina.

Almost every morning we used their gym and it was clean and had amazing views of the marina!

With part of the hotel built into the cliffs there are views of the marina on one side and ocean on the other.

It was a fairly easy walk into town and the view of the marina and ocean were great.

At night the views are spectacular, the outdoor lounge overlooking the marina at night was fantastic, a great place to enjoy drinks, entertainment and of course the views.

The views of the marina are amazing, the staff is always accomodating, friendly,  and responsive, and it's a great proximity to the Marina where you can walk off resort safely.

The location is beautiful with views of the Pacific and the marina.

From either side of the resort you have views of either the ocean or the marina.

The breakfast buffet was plentiful with lots of fresh choices and a great view of the marina.

We had a junior sweet with a view of the marina and a jetted tub in the center of the room.

The views of the Marina cannot be beat, and the property is just stunning!!

It overlooks the marina, which is a bustling place of activity of boats, people and cruise ships.

The plaza overlooks the marina and has the most incredible evening views!

Our room had the Marina view over the cupcake shop, and it waws perfect.

The view overlooking the marina is breathtaking and he made us feel super special remembering who we were and everything!

The Coffee and sweets shop was wonderful overlooking the Marina.

If you are looking for character and charm, excellent food and drinks, amazing coffee cupcake bar with views overlooking the marina.

The modern well-equipped gym was a welcomed surprise and has an amazing view of the marina.

Agave was great for lunch and Don Diego had a beautiful view of the Marina at breakfast buffet.

The hotel is built into the hillside cliffs and is beautiful; on one side you have the ocean and the other is the marina.

ulises panda was sensational His service and way of talking make him an outstanding person.

The staff was super friendly, helpful, efficient, informative and entertaining.

We come to the Finisterra often and we can't say enough about this resort.The location, cleanliness, food and entertainment are all great.But as usual the staff make this resort!

The nightly shows were impressive and entertaining.

The area around the resort was very safe and easy to walk to.

but no fault of resort at all,  is that you can not swim in the ocean at the resort,  but that was solved with a 10 min walk to a local beach with the most amazing blue water and rock formations.

The pool bar is located in the steak restaurant and the bar staff don’t welcome walk ups!

Great food, 5 min walk to downtown, great service.

A couple of posts accurately remarked that the beach was not really walk able for any distance.

I prefer walking for my morning coffee so again not issue for us.

All the staff was super nice and greeted you as you walk through the hotel.

It is an easy walk into the marina and downtown.

It was located centrally to the downtown area, so if you want to hit Cabo Wabo it is just a short walk away.

The resort is quite large, and with no transportation, be prepared to walk a lot.

It’s nice to walk around day and night.

When we arrived, Antonio checked us in with a friendly smile and also made sure everything was going well as we were walking by after that.

The only best thing about this hotel is its proximity to cannary beach which is a lovely beach where locals go approx 9 min walk from hotel.

We had a fantastic time lounging on the beach and pool.

I cannot end this review without mentioning the luxurious massage I received at the resort spa near the beach.

but unswimmable beach, easy walking distance to downtown. BUT.

but this side of the arches was so much quieter and peaceful - the waves are massive so it’s not a swimming beach, but definitely cool to see the huge crashing waves here.

From this resort, walk to the right to view some of the other resorts along this waterfront.

Played beach volleyball, blackjack, poker, and lots of pool time.

The activity coordinator Jorge is absolutely amazing and I will definitely be doing more water arobics and beach volleyball next time!

Amazing service and very clean if you do come do the all inclusive it will save so much money and they had activities like beach volleyball and everything.

We took morning walks along the beach multiple days and followed a humpback mama whale and her calf feeding.

It is right on the beach and you could listen to the ocean from everywhere.

Our group especially enjoyed the beach volleyball, water aerobics, and black jack!

Jorge at the pool was especially fantastic, he had so many fun activities to do like blackjack and beach volleyball and he really made our experience memorable.

The staff are so welcoming and accommodating, especially the activities coordinator Jorge who always had an activity like beach volleyball, water aerobics, and black jack to entertain us.

It was under construction and WINDY, both of which we didn't expect.

Only to arrive after a long day,  they book you in, then tell you that they are having maintenance issues and they will be sending you to their sister hotel, way out of town,

but were disappointed this year when we found out the construction of the Grand Solmar has taken away a pool from the Solmar.

Because our unit was at the back of the resort, we also had extra construction noise from maintenance fixing or sanding things.

Besides wasting the whole afternoon in their crazy shuttle, we wasted the evening trying to fix the air conditioner… (10) By the second day we were there they started construction in 2 rooms, one right by our right and one right by our left.

Yes, our first room was a bit outdated and unfortunately was right next to/over the construction happening on their new entryway,

Construction was still ongoing at the Solmar,

We moved into a room, that was away from construction noise and had sun.

Another issue was when ever we wanted to take a nap in the middle of the day they had construction going on continuously and the worst part was the Jack hammers.

Despite some negative reviews I read there was hardly any construction noise.

The resort again was inundated with construction noise from the additional lobby work.

Construction going on which was very loud at times.

But more than that, we were given a room (told it was a free upgrade to a special suite, "no extra charge"), only to find a major jack-hammering construction project was going on right outside of our balcony, 10 hours a day.

Because of construction, we were relocated to the Playa Grande from the Solmar Resort and Beach Club.

The beds were comfortable and I did not hear any of the construction noise others have mentioned.

The prices are bad to start with then they add IVA tax and a 10% resort service charge - which according to the manager is optional

We also played multiple cards games on the daily.

I would caution people that they do charge to the room even if you request to pay separately which caused disruption at checkout

The resort will shuttle guests to their other properties without charge.

The All-Inclusive option is a tremendous value and we love the food and drink options, we do wish the tip option was a little more transparent so we could ensure if we were tipping on the room charge that it would go to our server,

They wouldn't let uber past the gate because the hotel charges $100 for airport when it's $40 for uber.

I paid the balance a week before the trip.

One thing to be aware of is you cannot add a tip to your credit card.

Don't drink any of the bottled water provided in the room or you will be charged.

I lost $800, and no credit was offered either.

Not even a place to charge your phone by the bed.

Additionally we got home to find $$271.00 additional charges on our credit card.

I was charged 40.00 for 4 shots of Don Tequila when I have been sober for 30 years.

On top of that they triple charged our credit card charged us the day we checked out days after we left so now we have to call the bank and have that fixed.

but he could use my west jet credit card.

The rental agent agreed and it was only when I received my credit card statement when I returned to the US that I saw I had been charged the higher price.

Has overpriced restaurants charging $25 for a fettuccine Alfredo when their sister facilities sells full seafood dinner buffets for $37 for adults and half for kids.

Walking over to Divorce beach and snorkeling over at Lovers Beach is a highlight.

We were able walk from the hotel to climb over the rocks to Honeymoon Beach, Divorce Beach and Lovers Beach to swim in the Sea of Cortez.

You are a few yards away from what they call divorce beach.

If you are reasonably fit and up for a scramble you can walk to lovers/divorce beach - bring your snorkel or rent one at lovers beach to swim at pelican rock.

The rock formations are phenomenal and offer small beaches including a honeymoon and a divorce beach; both lovely!

The location near land's end was perfect as well, so you can hike over the small rock formation to get to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach.

If you would like to take a ride from the harbor (marina) to the arc or a lovers beach, divorce beach,Medano beach, look for "el Capitan Perico".

We walked to the end and went up and over the big rock hill to the lovers beach and divorce beach.

Solmar is RIGHT in the middle of the marina, el arco (the arch) and between Divorce beach and Lovers beach.

From the location point of view, you can stroll along a magnificent beach undisturbed and access Divorce Beach and Lover's Beach by climbing over a small rock hill.

If you're in good physical condition, you can climb the rock formations a short distance from the resort and make it to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach within a 5 minute walk from the resort.

The walk over the rocks at the end of the peninsula led to Lover's beach (swimable) and Divorce beach (not swimable).

So, don't pay extra for the taxi and just climb the big stone (a very easy hike with sandals NOT flipflops) and you're at divorce beach, which is right across from lovers beach.

Quick walk to Lover's Beach, Divorce Beach and Los Arcos.

This is also the way to Lover's and Divorce Beach

Very attentive staff for poolside drinks and snacks and in the restaurants on-site.

bars and restaurants are extremely over priced and staff will try to take advantage by giving you digital water at $10 a bottle or using premium liquor without asking.

Staff is friendly and attentive- especially Arterrio at the pool- great kid- great help.

Omar, the spa concierge, made sure to get me in with Ivet before the end of her shift, and it was the best way to end my stay at Solmar.

Great location, peaceful and intimate atmosphere, delicious food, friendly staff.

A great place, very nice and helpful staff, good food, nice drinks (pina coladas is extra tasty in this kind of environment).

We are club owners and we still love the staff at Old Somar.

Installations have all you need, personnel and service is excellent.

The location is great, price was super reasonable even during a holiday, walking distance to downtown and the marina and a huge beach area to walk up and down.

The view when you walk into the resort portion is breathtaking, and it was so peaceful and quiet while we were there.

The easy walk to town is perfect, you can be in the party of Cabo or escape back to the peaceful gem of the SOLMAR.

it is an easy short walk to town and the marina.

Loved the functionality of the room with kitchen, nice pool and convenient location to walk to the marina.

The busy, lively marina area and downtown is a 15 minute walk from Solmar.

The marina is a 5 minute walk with a ton of restaurants and attractions.

The resort has a beautiful view of the ocean, beautiful sunsets, and is within a 5 min walk to the Marina.

Loved walking the beach, watching the sunset from the room balcony, and seeing whales from the beach.

The location of the hotel is a good walk up a hill from Cabo and the people trekking said hill on a daily basis with packages of food was depressing to view.

From the minute you walk in you are reminded that their posh property next door is they really care about.

The resort even has a bus and shuttle service that transported us to most of our excursions, and the others were close enough to walk to!

We also love that we can easily walk to town.
