in that I left my wallet at a shop in Cabo during a half day town tour, and snorkeling at Chileno Beach.

but you pay for it:

- Watch out for discrimiation if you did not book directly.

I travel a lot and this did not thrill or disappoint, just not worth price.

For what we paid, I don’t think we got our moneys worth.

The only cons are the timeshare sales pitch on check-in, and the ridiculous prices of anything in the resort shops.

After waiting 9 months the experience and the expense registered as one of the worst vacations in memory.

To add insult to injury,  by accident my wife's expensive belt was ruined by housekeeping.

though extremely pricey ($1000 for a couples massage)

Cons:
- more of a general con for Cabo- the hotel backs right up to a busy highway (all of them do).

We didn’t get all the details so we ended up booking a tour that we thought was included and had to pay a lot of money at the end.

There are several types of cabana's for day rentals ranging from a simple cabana with lounge chairs to a much larger and more expensive lounge with the addition of a large TV, sitting area with small table and I think a small refrigerator.

I emailed the concierge back, letting them know that even at a five star, 5 diamond Michelin resort, a massage would never cost this much.

but the prices of these items were inflated.

You are limited to where and how much you can use for their overpriced services.

You can only use $250 towards a spa treatment…too bad most of those treatments cost way more than that!!!

I’m giving this resort a 5/5 because they did everything you’d expect and more for an expensive, luxury all-inclusive.

For example, we were given $150 and told we could only use it for tax on spa activities or soap or air freshener that is being sold for $100.

but not sure I would have paid the extra from it given how great the pretty much every view was.

though we showed them their own emails stating that we had “paid in full”, we had to pay to get them to let us leave.

(Except Le Blanc which is most expensive and gets the lowest discount 🤔).

If I had to share something that they could improve, I would say that they should pay more attention to the personal information on your profile.

Again I just paid $1000 dollars per night and cannot eat at the restaurants  I have already paid for??

We appreciated chef Juan who cooked for us on the whale watching cruise and for our two private dinners.

but two, and every single meal was perfect.

Special shout out to Dulce, Oscar, and Miguel at Blanc International Restaurant for going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

The resort has 5 restaurant and each one is exquisite !

Food is really delicious and with lots of different options at all the different restaurants it never got repetitive.

Its ok, food, drink, entertainment was very down the middle for how much it is.

We enjoyed the variety of restaurants and the entertainment they had everyday!

Although we had great service and a good meal at Yama, the morning breakfast buffet, and Blanc Pizza.

We ate there every morning and with my allergies, they were particularly attentive.

The octopus ceviche is spectacular, as were the tuna tostadas.

We went straight to our favourite restaurant Ocean on the beach.

Outstanding restaurant award this week for dinner goes to Bella for the food and Oliver's service.

My dad and I also really enjoyed the cocktail class with Aaron and Julia.

We travel with food allergies, and the waitstaff at the restaurants were all amazing at helping us navigate menus.

You can walk over to the next beach - or take a short Uber ride to El Chileno Beach - very clean, calm and relaxing.

Pool was very cold during our stay as most guest were just sun-bathing .

but it’s barely any warmer than the cold pool.

I heard people complain that the infinity pool to the left of the resort (when facing the ocean) was cold,

Don't miss the coffee shop on a hot day, it's got ice cold AC and sweets besides.

but when I’m staying at a resort this expensive I expect my beer and bottled water to be cold.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted promptly with drinks and cold towels, and we never once had to carry our own baggage.

We had emailed (6 times) to ask for the rooms to be near each other and provided our confirmation numbers and they responded they’d put in a request, and as we arrived to check in…with no cold water or towel or drinks offered, we learned that they did not accommodate us and we were all of different floors of the hotel!

At the bar they said they would send our waiter right over, to which I replied “by the time he comes to our table, takes our order and brings our wine, our main courses will be cold or finished or both.

The room service food was not great (soup was cold by the time it arrived, other food was okay

Pools not heated and beginning of February the water was way too cold.

The gym equipment is antiquated and the steam room was cold.

There are 6 small hot tubs and a non heated pool that serves as a "cold plunge".

but even with heaters it was way too cold for outdoor seating (the winds renders the burners useless).

Louis did a great job with our first dinner!

We had an outstanding dinner at Vista Ballena Restaurante during our stay.

The special barbecue dinner was a favorite.

The food here was amazing our favorites were 1.

The  presentation, quality and deliciousness of a food by chef Dorian was next to none.

One of the poolside waiters, Jose-Angel, was particularly helpful because he took our dietary restrictions into consideration when giving us food recommendations.

Everyone from the coffee shop, pool, and restaurants are so accommodating and attentive and made everything easy.

The food is amazing and the service is top notch.

Food was delicious, the resort and rooms were clean and beautiful, service was excellent and friendly, house keeping and night service included and was great touch.

Everything was wonderful  the waitress  and waiter was very friendly  I recommend  the grand Markis to be the spot if you and your family looking for a safe place to be the food was wonderful I gave them a 10 on everything overall. 😊

The food by chef Dorian was excellent, very tasty, the salmon and and pasta was well cooked and well seasoned my friend  and I had a wonderful experience.

There is a public beach that is swimmable called Chileno Beach about 10 minutes away from the  resort.

however, look at the price differences of booking directly with a company though.

I asked again what the price was and was told the same thing that the price was $45 US dollars.

Still would not recommend the sushi restaurant as a service as second rate,

We were put into a room with loud construction that went on each day we were there until 6:00 p.m.  We were looking forward to a relaxing, enjoyable time and paid premium dollars for the all inclusive resort.

In the end, when I refused to pay this erroneous charge, the staff member told me he agreed that it was not right, and had me write a statement saying that I refused to pay the extra charge.

And very confused why they wouldn’t book 3 more nights at the same rate-ish we paid. Crazy.

Cons -  is the cost of the All-Inclusive for those not staying in the hotel, and it is away from town.

food is basically something you would find at a trailer park buffet unless you pay extra to upgrade your menu !

Way overpriced for what you get in return!

The staff specially at the pool ceviche restaurant area is terrible, specially victor and the pool manager, here is the reasons why I do this review to this hotel: 

1) Victor and the pool manager kept bothering my group asking for payment immediately because we didn’t have the bracelet active for the whole inclusive deal (We were aware our bracelet wasn’t active for that day to have the same drinks and food including, we did not refused to pay for the service,

but the water is cold
-The menus have prices on them which was confusing.

The only thing that was a bit frustrating was that there was barely any music being played through out the resort (we wished it has more party vibes at times) and that after asking the front desk for more waters, they stop at 3 and said we needed to pay for the extra waters ..

but for EVERY dinner meal to have to pay extra for non special items that’s ridiculous!

At the moment, you have to pay extra if you are in the all-inclusive

but instead were sent a link that required payment,  which we did, when we arrived and told them that we paid, we were told to make up for the error we'd be comped the extra $30pp charge for dinner at the steak house.

You pay the same price as you would if they had the actualy spa.

Adriana and Rodrigo, the dynamic duo at the Peninsula Restaurant, welcomed us with a smile each day, offered many great recommendations, and provided the most memorable dining experiences we had during our stay.

Fiesta Americana resort is amazing, the whale watching this time of year is breathtaking, the restaurants are always accommodating and the views of the ocean can’t be beat, our son really enjoyed the Fiesta Kids Club, the girls there are so kind and helpful, Dylan was excited every day to return to play at the kids club.

Peninsula Restaurant for lunch was amazing.

Peninsula (Lunch Service) - fantastic food and service, you have to get the servers  Rodrigo Ramirez and Marco Ramirez a raise since they made the experience so much better!

I highly recommend this restaurant and if you decide to dine here then definitely ask for Rigoberto!

Alex Santos & Armando are the best waiters…we ate breakfast with them every morning during our trip this year, last year & the year prior.

The pizzas, burgers, and guacamole and chips were all on point!

Josè, Victor, Daniel and Juan took amazing care of us at the beach and the pool with drinks and lunch.

We took a taxi to go to the Chileno Beach excellent clear waters to go to the beach.

If you like snorkelling, lovers beach, Chileno beach and Santa Maria beach are all worth a visit.

We spent a day at Chileno Beach which is a MUST DO!

Around the property, it seemed to be stronger and more consistent.That is a concern as we were stuck having to do zoom calls in public areas of the hotel for the WiFi and that was not as comfortable.

but you also don’t want to run up your mobile phone bill by using 3G/5G when WiFi ***should*** be PLENTIFUL.

However, my partner got their phone taken from one of the cubbies at the neon party and unfortunately it wasn’t recovered before we had to leave the following afternoon, so I’d suggest keeping anything valuable on you or locked in your room.

My son also stated that when he went to there called the security guy on his personal cellphone..not on the walkie-talkie not on the hotel phone.

She
told the person on the phone that we need both housekeeping AND maintenance.

My friends had to call a pharmacy themselves.

Brother had blood stains on his duvet
- Had to call and ask 3x for a rollaway bed

He calls the front and gets the room number.

We were not allowed out of room come Sat and that was all the food given until 2pm - after numerous calls.

After realizing this I wandered around and asked 3 different security people to let us in our room or at the very least call the front desk to have someone come let us in.

Could not even talk or hear music on the phone.

My only tip would be to upgrade the plugs etc to accomadate phones etc.

Had to call for maintenance to get it unlocked.

There was a sense of dissatisfaction if employees didn’t receive tips for the slightest of actions as calling a cab.

I figured no one was taking me seriously so I did not want to call and instead just went there.

I attempted to call the front desk 5x from the phone in our room without any success.

Before then my phone was turned off so I was not able to locate it.

- If you are less mobile, please note there are LOTS of stairs to get around here. I would like to note that Nicole tried to make amends for the many issues we had in our room upon checkin by making us a few "reservations" at the specialty restaurant (though getting a table at the restaurants was not hard)

The cocktails were fantastic with a plethora of choices and the use of name-brand liquors…the bar staff were fantastic (our favorite was Paul/bar waitstaff on the “Lazy” pool side).

Iris, the breakfast and lunch server, was delightful and joyful!

Food was excellent, staff were very friendly and responsive, and the rooms were nice.

Excellent service, food was fantastic, and the entertainment never disappoints!

We ate at the buffet most every meal and it was very good.

Raul was great for dinner service and always willing to help us "continue the celebration".

The Japanese restaurant was great food, as well.

A lot of delicious food, we tried every restaurant and some were better than others

Rooms showed signs of mold and smell of mildew.

The sheets feel wet and everything smells musty.

The windows, balcony, furniture were left FILTHY!

Just a disgusting experience especially the food.

Smells like sewer really bad and rooms have fallen apart. Beware.

but there are paint chips, chipped wood moldings,cracked tiles, chukcn out of concrete walls, bathroom fans that don't work, etc.

Even the Saxaphone was dripping in sweat which was also not appealing.

Smoking locations are not wheelchair accessible and too remote.

Very warm and smelly elevators, lacking any form of ventilation.

Food lacked flavor, floor in room got my feet dirty when walking barefoot on first day of stay, sometimes it smelled like sewer water in our room and on the atea by the pool, taxi service super high compared to local rates

but since there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, the room felt musty and a bid humid.

They shouldn't put the smoking station by the swim up rooms that people pay more money for!

but our neighbor smoked on his balcony, there was someone by beach washrooms smoking, guests on ground floor with pools attached smoked in their pools and a few poolside smokers trying to be sneaky.

We'll just open the balcony door and enjoy some fresh air since the room was musty smelling anyway.

We booked and excursion to Chileno beach through the concierge for reliable transport.

It was under construction and WINDY, both of which we didn't expect.

Only to arrive after a long day,  they book you in, then tell you that they are having maintenance issues and they will be sending you to their sister hotel, way out of town,
Stupid expensive, and you are stuck in the middle of no where, and the place is being
Built still so the construction is ridiculous.

but were disappointed this year when we found out the construction of the Grand Solmar has taken away a pool from the Solmar.

Besides wasting the whole afternoon in their crazy shuttle, we wasted the evening trying to fix the air conditioner… (10) By the second day we were there they started construction in 2 rooms, one right by our right and one right by our left.

Yes, our first room was a bit outdated and unfortunately was right next to/over the construction happening on their new entryway,

Construction was still ongoing at the Solmar,

We moved into a room, that was away from construction noise and had sun.

Another issue was when ever we wanted to take a nap in the middle of the day they had construction going on continuously and the worst part was the Jack hammers.

Despite some negative reviews I read there was hardly any construction noise.

The resort again was inundated with construction noise from the additional lobby work.

Construction going on which was very loud at times.

But more than that, we were given a room (told it was a free upgrade to a special suite, "no extra charge"), only to find a major jack-hammering construction project was going on right outside of our balcony, 10 hours a day.

Because of construction, we were relocated to the Playa Grande from the Solmar Resort and Beach Club.

The beds were comfortable and I did not hear any of the construction noise others have mentioned.

The construction noise was at times loud,

The prices are bad to start with then they add IVA tax and a 10% resort service charge - which according to the manager is optional

We also played multiple cards games on the daily.

I would caution people that they do charge to the room even if you request to pay separately which caused disruption at checkout

The resort will shuttle guests to their other properties without charge.

The All-Inclusive option is a tremendous value and we love the food and drink options, we do wish the tip option was a little more transparent so we could ensure if we were tipping on the room charge that it would go to our server,

I paid the balance a week before the trip.

Paid online and my card was processed on Mar 19, 2022.

One thing to be aware of is you cannot add a tip to your credit card.

Don't drink any of the bottled water provided in the room or you will be charged.

I lost $800, and no credit was offered either.

Not even a place to charge your phone by the bed.

Additionally we got home to find $$271.00 additional charges on our credit card.

I was charged 40.00 for 4 shots of Don Tequila when I have been sober for 30 years.

On top of that they triple charged our credit card charged us the day we checked out days after we left so now we have to call the bank and have that fixed.

but he could use my west jet credit card.

The rental agent agreed and it was only when I received my credit card statement when I returned to the US that I saw I had been charged the higher price.

Has overpriced restaurants charging $25 for a fettuccine Alfredo when their sister facilities sells full seafood dinner buffets for $37 for adults and half for kids.

Very attentive staff for poolside drinks and snacks and in the restaurants on-site.

bars and restaurants are extremely over priced and staff will try to take advantage by giving you digital water at $10 a bottle or using premium liquor without asking.

In fact they don’t care what you spend on food or drinks.

I had most of my meals at El Tejaban and everything was great.
