Booked water taxi through resort for 10 American round trip to Lovers/divorce beach where you see the famous Arch formation.

The arc, lovers beach, divorce beach were beautiful.

We recommend taking the water taxi to lands end, lovers beach, and divorce beach as well.

My family had to resort to staying by the pools and avoiding the beach area because of the flies.

7 is closest to the pool and beach, 9 is closest to the water park.

We were in Villa 7 which had a pool and ocean view.

It has great pool areas and sun bathing decks and swim-up bars along with lots of food options throughout your stay including special restaurants, Italian, Japanese and other cuisines especially of evening meal and dining options.

Service otherwise was just ok. Beach was great, pools great, was impressed there were always chairs available at both!

The Palace's pools are heated so keep that in mind if you want more useable pool time in all weather.

We were provided a room with a view of the pool in building 7.

Plenty to do and see, they have several pools, bars and places to eat.

Other facilities such as pools, loungers and bars were all really really well maintained.

Staff was friendly, plenty of pools and activities.

Went to a pool party there and my backpack mysteriously went missing.

Beach and Pools:  The pools were pretty fun to be in.

Great access to pools and play fun areas for kids.

but there was a lively PARTY music at the southern pools.

The party vibe is well and truly alive here, especially with the pool parties.

View from the main pool is unbelieveable to the beach and caves.

My boyfriend was assaulted at their pool party as well.

Similar to other Riu hotels we've been to there is a focus on fun and entertainment, with a dedicated party pool for several events per week (white party, neon party, jungle party).

but we didn’t have an issue with noise.

but it seems we were downgraded, as party rooms are smaller with no couch.The rooms have thin walls as we could hear everyone in the hall and at all times of the night.

they had nightly parties which is fine,but you can hear the music bumping throughout the night.

We were rudely awoken to this bizarre encounter.

One thing I didnt like was the obnoxious drunks who would make noises at all hours of the night and woke us up a few times throughout the week.

it is so loud - the rooms are not soundproof, constant door banking, people walking to/from the disco and/or parties shouting, constantly up every couple of hours.

Drilling started at 7am above our room and continued all day.

Tips:  electricity in the rooms turn on with a card - the towel cards work - you don’t need to use a door access card 
Overhead fan in room was cold with the A/C blowing - the switch to turn fan off was by one of the beds switches for lamps 
Room smell is mildewy iso be aware.

but so was sitting in the pool bar watching the water traffic and non-stop crashing surf.

Also EVERY night the room sirens go off in middle of night.

Which we are sure we were not we were following all traffic.

Incredibly noisy, thumping music morning,noon & night, no peace to be found anywhere.

We flew all the way from US to Mexico and hearing that from the hotel manager to go look for another hotel is absolutely ridiculous.

These parties don't go any later than 11:00 so the noise from there was a non issue and I am very noise sensitive.

A bunch of us shared what we were told while we were at the pool that day and it was easy to see that they weren’t prioritizing the air conditioning system to be fixed and we’re just kind of telling people what they wanted to hear.

I could care less about the noise and partying that’s what vacations are about.. so that type of Karen complaining should just stop.

And you can basically hear the bass/music from the party pool anywhere in the resort while the parties are going on.

Definitely not the cleanest inside the room and the rooms were always cold and damp when you slept.

I say this because OMG it was disgusting how many flies spread like crazy when opening a door to get hamburger toppings.

I agree, outside of a few restaurants the food was disgusting (even the burger spot was gross) and staff sit around and let flies all over the food.

I mainly stayed in the room the last two days to get some peace from the vendors and loud music and nasty food.

They demanded to enter the room to check for smoking.

At the end of our second day after eating in the Asian restaurant, half my family and I got laid up in bed with a bad case of Monetzuma's Revenge (vomit and diarreha).

My only complaint was the coffee at the breakfast buffet was absolutely disgusting - must have been made with tap water with swamp scum in it.

They do NOT offer any kind of room service 
And to make matters even worse, our room reeked of mold and mildew.

First night at disco smelt like puke.

The restaurant food was awful and disgusting.

Manager (Evan) is rude, all the front desk people are rude, roaches everywhere in the dining hall, dirty and filthy snack bars, I can keep on going.

Bugs and debris on the surface, bugs and debris on the bottom, and a literally sheen of nasty everywhere.

-The lines were disgusting, stained and dirty

-The dining area is swarming with bugs

-Little children grabbing food with their hands

-There is no business area so if you have to do work, you either do it in the room, the reception area which has no air conditioning or the sports bar, where children run wild

-It’s useless to have reservations at restaurants because they let anyone in 

-Oh yeah, you can show up to the restaurants in your swimwear.

The pools and pool parties were super fun until I started to get major skin irritations on my feet and below the waist… ya the family jewels are fluorescent red, peeling, and extremely painful.The doctor said it Looks like a very bad chemical burn.

The room was smelled like mould when we got in and the shower leaked water

The food why you could find something edible was a disappointment especially the Italian restaurant yuck!

Everything tasted horrible and disgusting!

Yes, shower works, with really stinky water.

The server went as far to turn OFF the machine in front of us so we couldn't use it ourselves for self-service, DISGUSTING!

In addition they automatically add a 15% service charge to every. Single.

They charged things to our room that we did not sign for.

When charging to the room for all services it should not have to be an aggressive act by staff for a signature.

However, there times when we were off the resort property and the exchange rate provided was better is paying with USD

A poor exchange rate for dollars, taxis that overcharge, prices that are too high for what you get.. we stayed in a beautiful unit on the second floor.

but they do not give you $150USD as the full credit .

but no way to tell because they don’t have the integrity to provide detailed invoices of charges.

You can have a meal, or go to the small market and charge it to your room;

Upon checkout the only person there did not know how to apply our $100 credit.

The only negative thing I have to say about the resort which I am sure they will fix is their billing system when you check out.

The resort  said they had quit doing that credit quite awhile back, and Giovanni claimed ignorance, without any offer to make it up somehow.

This place needs to check the rooms before they rent them out to ensure that the quality is to the standards for which they are charging.

I arrived before she did and wasn't able to check on because she held the credit card our stay was booked under.

It would also be nice if they allowed you to pay at the restaurants as you go with credit card or cash rather than just adding it all on your bill at the end, because the last thing I want to do on my last night/day is a lot of math and straining my memory to ensure the bill is correct.

We paid $25 each for the test and got results that night and the resort gave us a $30 resort credit after we paid for the test.

Important: from the airport, taxis are really expensive and non-sense people want to charge you like 85 usd to get at the resort, so I recommend to get a shuttle for 17 usd each.

but were charged $56 for lunch the day we arrived.

but they charge if they come everyday which I think is a little ridiculous.

They put an unauthorized hold on our credit card the second day we were there.

Our kids love swimming in the ocean and heading to Lovers/Divorce beach.

We even hiked further west and down to Divorce Beach where we took a water taxi back across the bay to La Estancia.

Shout out to Tere, Deivi and Natali at the pool for keeping everything and everyone organized!!

Pool Staff and Beach Staff are very helpful.

If you’re lucky enough to have him take care of you by the pool then you’re guaranteed to have a good vacation.

We spend a lot of time around the pool and the staff there are excellent.

Especially enjoyed Tere, Davi and Natalie at the pool and Francisco and Pedro at the pool bar.

We particularly appreciate the attention of Tere and Devi at the pool.

Victor at the beach and the pool kept the food and drink flowing despite the steps and the ramp down to the beach.

We have always found the staff here, from the bellhops to the check in people in the lobby to the concierge to housekeeping to a sizable pool side staff to be nothing

Love the hotel and most importantly, the pool.

The facilities are beautiful and the pool amazing.

Shout out to Tere who made sure we were taken care of with fresh pool towels and chairs by 8am daily!!

Notably, Luz on the pool deck, was very sweet and personable.

Each time we seek out Luz at the pool bar who is just amazing and attentive and always there with a smile to bring you whatever you need. 🥰

I felt like we were bothering people that were laying in silence and relaxing around the pool, which did not make for a relaxing family vacation.

Pool staff Tere,Deivi, Natalr did an outstanding job along with concierges Lupita, Karla, Ana, Jovany were amazing.

I was able to relax at the pool with the family and didn’t have to stress about anything other than finishing my fantastic mojito.

The location is perfect - view of the beach and right next to the pool.

We are having fun in the warm sunshine, in and out of the pool.

He was the difference in a slow night after a flight.

We ate breakfast once at Bella and they were unbelievably slow and clearly overwhelmed.

but I wouldn't fault the servers it was the bartenders and the cooks that either were unstaffed or a bit slow.

The elevator was either slow or not working.

The problem are the restaurants, same menu everywhere, services at the restaurants are slow, expensive and not good.

The beach is slow walking to the marina due to rocky painful beach sand so don’t bother.

One day we ventured off and went to breakfast next door at the El Patron - service was very slow and the food was cold - except for the omelet which was made to order which was tasty.

We never returned to the main restaurant after the Day 1 Breakfast fiasco, and we never went to dinner there so not much to share other than very slow service if you don't elect their breakfast buffet.

There were nearby rocks to hike and climb, and even a way to get to Divorce Beach/ Lovers Beach.

We snuck in a hike over rocks barefoot to divorce beach.

1 --  Its unmatched location a) on a beautiful 1-mile beach facing the Pacific that is 100% vendor-free and so uncrowded that it feels private, b) as the closest hotel to the famous Cabo arch, with walkability to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach, and c) a 5-minute walk to the Cabo marina.

You’re at divorce beach, which also connects to lovers beach.

The waves and tide are too dangerous for swimming.

This resort utilizes shady tactics to get potential customers into their sales office.

Cannot swim in the ocean as it is much too dangerous. 5.

but you can not swim in the ocean (very dangerous).

-There is no swimming allowed at the beach by the resort due to dangerous riptides at Land's End.

but it’s dangerous to go swimming in the sea at this section.

It was the only aspect of our trip that made me feel unsafe during our stay since my husband and I wore ours in these spaces and even while walking into town!

We did not, which made it a tad more dicey.

When venturing outside the resort, like the Marina, they are a bunch of shady characters, there wasn’t a day that I wasn’t approached by several people asking if I wanted to buy cocaine or marijuana 😳.

There was never a time we felt unsafe or in danger of possible infection.

There was never a time that we felt unsafe.

but stay out of the surf since the riptides are dangerous and always present.

The only drawbacks in our opinion were the hawking of Resort memberships (as we arrived and an early morning call the first morning waking us up) and the fact that you can’t swim at the resort beach due to dangerous tides.

Pool side chairs are plentiful in both shady and sunny locations.

From Manni, Roberto and the bell boys, to the staff at the pools; Francisco, Humberto, Claudia, Juan, And so many more.

This review is specifically about the cabanas and pool

Big shout out to the valet team (Roberto, Manny and crew), front desk (Roberto), Sports Bar crew (David, Gilberto, Alejandro, Alexis, Felipe, and team), Pool Staff (Efrain and team), Don Luis, Deli Cafe, Asian Lounge, and La Roca staff, and Miguel who keeps everyone feeling at home and welcome.

Time at the adult pool was made better by the pool

Our favorite pool is sunset pool when Claudia and Juan Manuel are working.

We were actually able to whale watch from the pools.

The house keeping staff and staff at the pool are also fantastic.

The hot tub at the main pool is luke warm, while the hot tub in the VIP pool is perfect.

but are looking for good food, nice pools at a stunning beach location this is a safe bet.

They make the resort appear in poor condition and present safety hazards.

Managements restrictive rules and poor decisson making are established based on thoes who complain the loudest.

They placed us in a building on the opposite  side that had poor access to the kids pool.

The tv quality was so poor, there might as well have been no tv.

All criminals have their first crime no matter how clean their background was before they made a poor decision.

but the reality is that this is a poor excuse for a high end hotel.

We had such a poor time that we left three days early.

Unless you plan to drink every poor quality adult beverage you can possibly stand to consume and eat very ounce of average food with slow service possible don’t opt for the meal plan.

Pool is too dirty and the poor pool people cant keep up.

We ate off property a good bit because even after spending the $ for all inclusive, we had such poor service.

but one dinner , the Thursday Argentinian theme dinner was a bust with poor food and service.

This one lady, and I use that term loosely, Claudia just wouldn’t leave me and my poor wife alone.

but NEVER felt crowded or overbooked anywhere on property

My wife is a literature professor and I’m a cardiologist, we are not poor and should have paid more for the Waldorf or the JW Marriott.

The amount was small relative to two weeks expenses at the resort.

but the cost should be appropriate for the quality you are getting.

For what we paid for All Inclusive at Grand Solmar, there are other 5 star resorts in Mexico who blow this place out of the water service-wise.

It is starting to show its age in some rooms and I hear the wait staff is having a large turnover due to changes on the 'service fee' and tipping.

We were slightly taken aback for the prices for food and beverage at the resort, they are a little high

Very unaccommodating and for the price expected way more!

(For a pricing example chicken nachos are $22 and a cocktail is $15.)

When you pay so much to stay somewhere, you should be pampered.

Don’t add it into the guests to pay for it.

Las Brisas restaurant has a small menu, a bit pricey,

Prices around the resort have pretty much tripled and drinks are watered down.

By noon, it was already paid for and we are not heavy eaters or drinkers.

but considering the cost, I think they could use some updates.

Our housekeeper Mica is a precious gem - she made sure to pay attention to my habits and personalize what she left me for supplies and how she left the room.

Tip: When you travel to Cabo in February or March don't pay for the whale tour- sit poolside at Grand Solmar for you days long whale show! -Tanners

Con’s: Very hit or miss service ranging from good to downright disappointing; mediocre drinks, terrible check in experience, overall slow service poolside.

Check in was abit slow and our room wasn’t ready until after 5.

At times this was more apparent than others, resulting in slow to unresponsive service poolside, at restaurants, and bars.

I also found the service in general to be very slow, and there wasn't much indication on information on restaurants - it took us a few days to get our footing and learn where everything was.

In summary, if you like slow service with high prices that have been essentially aligned with U.S.  prices on substandard food then this is your place.

Service is slow at every turn, if you think something should take an hour plan on at least a half hour more you will need it.

Figure out a way to balance both, right now, I don’t see millennials being attracted to this hotel which means it will die a slow death in like 5 years.

but that's not the case for many and you'll be VERY frustrated with spotty wifi and even in your room, it's slow at best.

Concierge is lost, we needed their assistance several times and found their help to be slow and insufficient.

The only reason why I gave them a 4 was the overall sunset pool bar service was extremely slow and at times not attentive.

(If you rely upon the Internet for work that can be way too slow at times so bring what you can to boost connectivity or maybe check with the resort on any way to boost on site as we are going to do that the next time).

Overall I would say that is the place to eat! If you go to Cabo you absolutely must take a boat tour over to "Lovers Island" and "Divorce beach."

Recommend the short boat ride to The Cabo Arch at Lovers Beach and Divorce Beach.

We took a water taxi to the rocks and arch, highly recommend going to Divorce Beach there as the beach is beautiful.
