The waitress assured us that it was not going to be charged to our room

The following day I went to a more basic restaurant had a few tacos and beer and noticed a 10% service fee on my invoice.

We were charged over $300 of “fees” above and beyond tips, taxes and mandatory charges.

After many discussions, producing paperwork showing where I was booked, and a plea for them to honor their obligation, they refused and said my only option was to take the room at the lesser resort and that was it, no compensation/upgrade for my loss of value, no resort credit, just take it or leave it.

Despite the hotel charges you 30% of tax and service in your booking, you need to bring extra cash to tips the waiters or they let you wait for your drink and food forever.

They incorrectly billed me then and have continued to charge my credit card.

They do push the timeshare pitch and aren’t always up front with how things are charged.

No towel cards mean people leave their towels on their chairs even when they are gone for the day and new arrivals can’t tell if a chair is truly available.

Gym doesn’t open till 7am and there is an $11 US charge, never been to a property that charges to use the gym.

After going there for 17 years (AS AN OWNER) I don't like the treatment I been given, PLEASE BE AWARE OF CHARGES PLACED ON YOUR ACCOUNT.

To make matters worse, their only concern was getting our card to pay for the new nights stay, and not the health and welfare of 5 of his sick guests.

In fact, probably worth skipping the towel card completely as we simply gave our room number to get towels.

Shame on Playa Grande Resorts for charging their Disabled Guests extra.

After 1 hour, we finally got our room keys and were then ushered over to speak to the concierge to receive our towel cards.

This place was packed while we were there so the fact that they could remember who we were and what we ordered seemed kind of important to be sure we were being charge accordingly.

Imagine walking to the iconic arc along the beach then crossing over the the Beach of Love and The Divorce beach.

You can walk down the beach to get close to where divorce beach is,

It's absolutely gorgeous and if you're able to climb over the rocks you can get to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach!

You are also technically within walking distance of lands end, lovers beach, and divorce beach.

The hotel is right across the street from the marina.

Only complaint - our room faced the marina where Sr Frogs is located.

Playa Grande Resort boasts a convenient location near Cannery Beach and a short stroll to Medano Beach through the nearby marina.

It was great to have the resort walking distance to the Marina.

Great location, lovely property, easy access to the marina and all downtown Cabo offers.

The resort is close to town and the marina and is easy to walk to everything.

The best resort on the All the people are very friendly, something that really pleases me is that every time we visit this beautiful resort we are always greeted with a big smile, the quality of the hotel is too good and best of all it is literally next to the Marina.

We walked all over marina at night and always felt safe.

The rates were reasonable especially as the location is within walking distance of the marina.

The proximity to downtown and the marina eliminate the need for a rental car, you are walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shops.

Beautiful resort, then walk down the hill 5 minutes and you are at the marina and downtown.

The marina and shopping is a 10-15 minute walk from the resort which made it very easy to do anything you wanted to do off of the resort.

We did like that it was close to the marina!

Stayed in two different rooms - an ocean view penthouse (2 bedroom) and a marina penthouse (2 bedroom) on “the ridge.” There are pool renovations happening - there are 4 pools, one of the four will be out of commission until they’re all completed.

It’s a 10 minute walk to the Marina and 20 minutes to downtown Cabo San Lucas!

Although not far from Marina and "downtown" in distance, the walk there is not easy nor scenic, especially on a hot day.

It was very clean with huge rooms designed with Mexican flair.

The fire dancers as well as the Mexican fiesta was so fun and awesome.

The food at the Mexican fiesta this year was top notch and ever single staff person worked extremely hard to keep us well fed and filled with the drinks of our choice.

The Mexican party night is by far my favorite part of staying here!

The Mexican Fiesta on Monday nights is fun, great local entertainment.

Some activities include the famous tequila volleyball in the pool, Mexican fiesta night, and the beach party.

So clean, the food & drinks was great, the Mexican Fiesta is highly recommended.

The Mexican Fiesta  party with food, drinks, entertainment and fireworks was amazing!! !

The weekly Mexican fiesta is a must, definitely a highlight… fireworks were pretty cool too!

The resort is still being well maintained and want to point out the refurbishment of the pools is great.

Nice room, excellent pools and weather for mid  December.

The pool area is expansive with plenty of seating, especially the adult-only area which is right by the ocean.

From Alfredo at Brigantine’s amazing craft cocktails to our pool side service with Miriam and Hector Raga Segrero to coming into our room to playful towel designs we were taken care of with smiles and attention to details!

Hector Raga Sagrero the server at the pool was fantastic.

We sat in Hector Raga Sagrero’s pool section and he was an OUTSTANDING server.

Shout out to Franco and Eduardo by the the pool- always kind and smiling.

Franco's attentiveness and friendly demeanor made my time by the pool truly enjoyable.

they had fun games throughout the day and amazing pool staff.

We spent most days relaxing and enjoying the 2:1 drinks at the adults only pool.

Elias was our waiter at the pool, and he was excellent!

Julio Caesar was our pool waiter and he was AMAZING!

Jaime has given us such amazing service this entire week we have been on vacation, at the pool at playa grande.

Our waiter by the pool Fernando was fire!

Franco, Miguel and Julio  Cesar are the best at the pool.

Resort has been amazing, Fernando at the pool side is on point, very attentive and remembers our names everytime, drinks are bomb.

Last night this came to light after an expensive dinner for three at the steakhouse.

You tip, then you pay for additional “fees” and taxes.

At that point I figured we were going to be put in the dreaded Ridge, or forced to pay for an upgrade to be in the main resort.

Avoid the offers, starting in the airport and then in the hotel lobby at all costs.

Not sure if the price I paid matched the experience I got.

When I canceled, there was no warning that the rate was nonrefundable.

There’s an infinity pool, a water slide, and allegedly the pools up here are adults only. Here are some of my observations: 
* 4 star resort
* All inclusive meal option available
* Uber Eats is available for some local restaurants 
* Food at the resort is overpriced for the quality
* $15 taxi ride into marina shopping area 
* $120 taxi ride from airport
* walking from resort to marina (where there are restaurants and shopping) is doable

This does not make life easier for guests who want to take an Uber (instead a regular cab or or transport companies indicated by the hotel, which were more expensive) and I think only having a vehicle and passenger identification when accessing the hotel would be necessary, even with security issues.

Beware the exorbidant food and beverage costs if you don't use the meal plan.

Unbelievable service for this kind of pricing for a hotel and the most worst customer experience and service ever.

My advise is to avoid such a ripoff places

This would seem like an unfortunate price hike mishap if it wasn't for it happening again and again once you check all other seemingly great priced offerings.

Like any resort, food and drinks were underwhelming and overpriced

enough so that we had to call the Nurse on campus to bandage us up.American money is best since it is so much easier, plus when we exchanged it for pesos, there was an expensive fee.

The sports on television is very entertaining.

And *Amy and *Rodrigo with the entrainment staff are always so happy, pleasant, polite, fun and always a smile on their faces.

The entertainment staff provide a lot of fun activities such as water aerobics and volleyball.

Entertainment team does a nice job of trying to engage guests.

And to everyone else that made this trip special: the entertainment staff, the Fiesta Night dancers, the phenomenal staff at the Sports Bar, and our lovely housekeepers.

The wait staff and entertainment staff (Selma, Amy, Humberto, Luis) were the most enjoyable and the main reason we always enjoy ourselves every time we come to Playa Grande.

Lots of entertainment, everyone was always so helpful.

The Entertainment staff was wonderful especially Aiimee, who was hardworking, vibrant and always with a beautiful smile.

MC Roberto is hysterical and the entertainment team is great!

I need to give credit to the bartenders, servers, and entertainment staff by the pool!

A few employees who stood out:  Luis with the entertainment staff (water aerobics, tequila volleyball), Hector at the swim-up pool bar and our housekeeping staff for P2351.

(they rotate areas daily): Ramon, Franco,  Jaime
Entertainment staff: Aimee , and the skinny guy who played me in ping pong and judged Tequila Volleyball.

Entertainment crew were funny and the two activity nights were worth the cost.

Overall, our 7 day vacation was relaxing, entertaining, and one of the best we have taken!

The entertainment team will make it memorable.

Caveat: because I had kept my phone on airplane mode to avoid roaming charges, I couldn’t use “find my phone” nor did my phone show the “call me message” we programmed onto the Home Screen from my husband’s phone.

As a result they charged me $760 for an “additional person.” I’ve been sitting at Agave now for 30 mins.

Also we were told there were no charges on our room so did not look at the receipt

The hotel provided shuttle guy charged us 20 us dollars per person to get back to the hotel.

but they put a hold on my credit card for $750.00, which would be "refunded on checkout".

- Towels: You get 1 towel per person and have to return your "towel card" at the end of your stay or get charged $50.

-We were double charged for the excursion anyway.

Within 7 days when it didnt show up on my credit card, I contacted the hotel and they said to dispute the charge with my credit card.

but there were many hours that deserve credit as well!

I then disputed the charge with my credit card company and despite providing proof of the erroneous charge failed to get a refund.

but you don't have to worry when EMI and EIZABETH are in charge.

but please charge it to my hes and not my heart

you get a small plastic towel card at check in.

However the front desk charged me for the full 7 days, so an additional $294 was charged to my card for a day I did not use.

I was unimpressed that at check-in I was forced to give a credit card deposit of $329 which is still pending ..I've traveled to many hotels I've never been asked for a deposit.

even though we were the only ones there the young lady at the front desk said she didn’t know how to do it so we stood there for 25min because the guy who could help us was on the phone with a customer who was disputing a charge, I could hear the whole thing.

It’s better to trust your guests to share, remove the cards and just put fresh towels out every hour or similar.

Then, the resort blamed US for this error and almost charged us MORE (no apology or kindness during that entire situation).

No towel cards , so many people just left them on the loungers and walked away so you couldn't tell if they were still being used.

They took care of my family and friends anyway at no additional charge.

We actually walked to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach along the shoreline.

We were looking forward to the walk/scramble over to divorce beach

although you can't swim at the beach at the resort, the kids loved walking the half mile down the beach to the rocks and climbing over them to Divorce Beach.

Plus we were able to walk from our beach to the arch, lovers beach and divorce beach.

We took a water taxi to Lovers Beach and walked round to Divorce beach.

The views are amazing of both the beach and the marina.

We went to the marina often for shopping and meals

Excellent show and  wonderful drone and firework display over the marina.

We were extremely fortunate to visit Sandos Finisterra in Dec. We have visited Sandos properties in Play Del Carmen yearly over the last 5 years and decided to give Finisterra a try.

Again, we went around the marina for drinks a few times, where you can get inexpensive

It is right across the street from the Marina, with lots of shopping, bar, excursion and restaurant options if you want to leave the resort.

A consideration not to be overlooked is you have direct and close access to everything on the marina and around.

The resort had unique architecture, was spotless, friendly staff, quiet location, close to Marina.

You can’t beat the location, we walked over to the marina everyday.

Walking down to the street and crossing to the marina is convenient.

The Spa Del Mar was beautiful and smelled amazing.

The marina right across the street is so convenient for excursions or just walking around..Loved everything about Sandos and will return without a doubt!

Great views of marina with morning latte from Cupcake and the ocean every afternoon from the pool and beach.

The food was great, the people and service was great, this is where you want to come to be around the marina and close to your resort.

Location:  great location, easy to find, easy to walk down to the marina, great view of both sides (ocean/marina).

Great location for the Marina and downtown Cabo San Lucas.

Helena and Clarissa at the Spa Del Mar were fantastic!

Sandos Finisterra is in a great location - easy walk into town and the marina.

Easy walk down to the marina and into town.

Almost every morning we used their gym and it was clean and had amazing views of the marina!

With part of the hotel built into the cliffs there are views of the marina on one side and ocean on the other.

It was a fairly easy walk into town and the view of the marina and ocean were great.

At night the views are spectacular, the outdoor lounge overlooking the marina at night was fantastic, a great place to enjoy drinks, entertainment and of course the views.

The views of the marina are amazing, the staff is always accomodating, friendly,  and responsive, and it's a great proximity to the Marina where you can walk off resort safely.

The location is beautiful with views of the Pacific and the marina.

From either side of the resort you have views of either the ocean or the marina.

The breakfast buffet was plentiful with lots of fresh choices and a great view of the marina.

We had a junior sweet with a view of the marina and a jetted tub in the center of the room.

The views of the Marina cannot be beat, and the property is just stunning!!

It overlooks the marina, which is a bustling place of activity of boats, people and cruise ships.

The plaza overlooks the marina and has the most incredible evening views!

Our room had the Marina view over the cupcake shop, and it waws perfect.

The view overlooking the marina is breathtaking and he made us feel super special remembering who we were and everything!

The Coffee and sweets shop was wonderful overlooking the Marina.

If you are looking for character and charm, excellent food and drinks, amazing coffee cupcake bar with views overlooking the marina.

The modern well-equipped gym was a welcomed surprise and has an amazing view of the marina.

Agave was great for lunch and Don Diego had a beautiful view of the Marina at breakfast buffet.

The hotel is built into the hillside cliffs and is beautiful; on one side you have the ocean and the other is the marina.

Lunch food options were plenty and the ones by the pool were all good - pizza, sushi, Agave tacos salad.

Change the scenery to one of the spacious adult pool.

My 10 year old son loved the pools and activities (darts competition).

The service around the pool was good (Carlos was a standout)

Three pools and four restaurants to chose from.

The pools and restaurants are amazing and the views are next to none.

Definitely leave time for the jacuzzi and plunge pool to get the full experience

Two people we’d especially like to give a shout-out to are Carlos at the pool, and Yazmin at Tortuga and Emiliano’s.

They kept the afternoon at the pool lively and fun for everyone.

And refills always ready

We had the couples 50 minute relaxing massage and got to use the jacuzzi and sauna beforehand.

A special shout out to Brayam in the lobby bar and Norma around the pool for their personal service with great smiles!

It's a stunning resort with a lot of variety and no shortage of activities by the pool (we couldn't really take part

The staff was super friendly, helpful, efficient, informative and entertaining.

Also, shout out to the entertainment team Fernando, Enrique and Yuki for bringing so much life to the resort.

A smile , a hug Yuki stood above the rest in the entertainment.

Absolutely every part of your experience was next level; from the amazing service from every single staff we encountered, the food, the entertainment and the beautiful resort.

The entertainment team were good, leaving you alone if that was the preference

We came for Christmas and everything was magic!

The entertainment in the resort is fun  we enjoyed the white party and Latin night.

The entertainment staff always have fun games and lots of games to help you meet people!
