We feel it falls short of 5 stars due to a little outdated styling.

When they needed to close umbrellas due to a windy day he found us shady spots.

You could not use the swim up pool bar due to this.

Here are a few other things that others might find not so good (but they were not an issue for us):
- being an adults-only property, there was not a lot of resort-organized activities going on during the day or night 
- you can't swim AT ALL in the ocean in front of Pacifica due to really strong undercurrents.

I have the freedom and opportunity to visit Cabo multiple times a year allowing me to visit every resort and Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is the only resort I have booked 3 times in a row due to the peacefulness, food, grounds and staff.

but when he showed up they said they had no equipment due to them all being broken!

Due to a work issue at home, we had to leave two days early.

- The cash deposit provided at check in was not included in the check out balance due calculation, was not refunded at check out, and has still not been returned a month later.

Sometimes you can't get through due to decreased staffing from COVID.

Our trip unfortunately got cut short due to travel restrictions,

We came here for our Anniversary and it's like a drunk bachelor party.

I understand it’s more upscale and not a party resort, which is fine by us,

There were several groups there and wanting to party hard.

We were able to play Quivia, and PBP helped in assisting with shuttle service to and from/ along with the other resorts.

We hosted our wedding here along with 35 guests and it could not have been more perfect.

We spent time in both pools - starting at the "quiet pool" in the morning and moved to the "party pool" at the end of the day.

Cesar also took great care of us at the NYE beach party.

but would be a lot more better/ fun  if they pool played more modern Latin, hip hop, pop and reggae music!

For example, we sat a long time before being noticed by our waiter and they continued ignoring us in favor of a large party.

We were lucky to be here for Mexican Independence Day and a great party with food and a mariachi band.

We found Pacifica to be much more exclusive and refined compared to Rose', which had more of a party atmosphere.

It was the perfect mix between quiet and party!

Alan had amazing service and Hugo had great activities and was a blast the water volleyball was great and Hugo was playing along with us and made the experience more fun

He is the life of the party and has exceptional work ethic.

We played pool volleyball and the bag game.

Very friendly and played ping pong/pool volleyball with us too!

So good at his job and really kept the party going.

Great service, Hugo was great and got the people excited to play.

Kept us hydrated and played a fair and fun game all while playing the game.

The resort itself was bland and basic.

Also, they double charged us for golf, added random small charges that we did not agree to, and has been a complete hassle to receive a refund.

Cons: 
1) They lie about how to use the resort credits.

We had $500 credit for fireworks as part of the promo when signing our contract so we signed up for fireworks.

Up charges are a little ridiculous so be wary of your bill before you sign for anything.

Ignore the solicitors when you come out of customs many times they charge 10X more than it should cost to get to your destination.

They personally printed little itinerary cards for our wedding guests and hand delivered them to every room.

I had many problems despite pre-paying for 4 devices (the systems would allow only 2; then it kept charging me).

but if you are good at saying "no" (you'll have to say no to 4 people) you get a $400 resort credit for the spa, restaurant charges, etc.

Do not take amex so bring cash and other cards.

-Enough outlets to charge more than one or two electronic devices at the same time

-Service, room cleaning daily
-Proper communication, English speaking representatives

And to no one's surprise, two separate charges showed up on my credit card a few days later.

I then was told to reach the hotel directly to confirm if I had a balance.

However, you can shuttle to another beach for no charge that does have a swimmable beach.

but I suppose they don’t want any disputing of charges when checking out.

Our card was charged that day, as expected.

Our room didn't even have wall outlets near the night stands to plug in or charge your phone at night.

but in reality, you have to pay a cover charge for 3 of the restaurants.

We were only there 5 days and saw 3 weddings and multiple welcome parties for more weddings.

Both resorts were clean, beautiful and we loved the fact that with our all inclusive bands, we could go to any of the Pueblo bonito resorts.

If you go to the golf course and eat at the steak restaurant with a party of 10 or more you will not get great service and sit you at a table fit for 6.

I would have loved playing golf (the course looked gorgeous) I did not venture onto the tee box.

The live band Friday night with led singer Mane was all a girl can ask for.

Afters Bar at the Sunset Hotel is where people party.

We will be using a third party for transportation in the future.

The staff was outstanding in their kindness and attention to detail with our large wedding party.

The activities were so much fun and he kept the party going the whole time!

we played black jack with him a couple of times, and honestly, it was so much fun.

Rodolfo hosted activities that made our experience phenomenal.

We had the best time playing volleyball, horseshoe, and even corn hole.

We couldn’t recommend this resort enough for anyone considering staying here for a vacation or hosting a wedding.

Hannia also came to the rescue and very graciously would check on my elderly father as wedding party took a four hour sunset cruise and she would personally go check on my dad in his room to see if her needed anything or if he was hungry.

Rodolpho was hilarious and played bingo with everybody, thought dance lessons and hosted my friends on a hike.

We played bingo, volleyball, and we especially loved the hike to the lighthouse!

You can not call a Uber to get off property.

We requested multiple times for a phone call during the planning process and never received a single phone call.ever.

It was difficult communicating with my wedding planner as she rarely answered emails and never took my phone calls.

I had to call multiple times to file a report, spent hours and hours.

In the time since I made the deposit, I asked for help making dinner reservations, activities, etc., and after 6 requests in 3 weeks I can't even get a return phone call.

Pueblo Bonito wedding coordinating staff, unfortunately is very hard to reach via phone and/or email.

All my requests and calls seemed to be ignored because when we got there our rooms were at bottom level no view.

The room was 3*, we never had hot water in our shower despite calling down multiple times, it was loud 24/7 from running water or AC and we were the top floor ocean view suite.

Unfortunately, the resort double charged the second half of our room payment and provides no contact phone number or email for resolution.

butler will make your dinner reservations as well as reserve any activities you would like to do which means you only have to call one person and tell them what you would like to do  and not worry about making all the plans yourself.

I assumed the $50 credit was applied asap and we spent that at the arcade with my child the next day.

We asked for a room change and were accommodated and given a $100 room credit.

Make sure to bring the towel card to get the towel and return after use to get the card back.

I would like to see more activities like this - the card games by pool could be done more frequently during the day.

My bill and I paid the remaining balance.

but after traveling home and looking through my credit card charges I noticed that I did not receive my refund for the room charge.

While the cuisine was delectable, the term "all-inclusive" felt misleading, as charges abounded throughout the resort.

We were also sold a contract at a rate that is not the rate they are charging us for our room reservations.

They force you to charge it to your room and won’t let you pay cash.

However, beware of the $400 room credit they offer for the timeshare presentation.

Very low class hotel only focused on charging weddings and no focus anymore on providing excellent top hotel experience.

I inquired to the spa since they give you a $50 credit, a one hour massage is $226 which I did not do.

There were up charges for certain items, which threw me off a bit since they were pretty basic, like lattes.

After the hurricane hit we were left with no power, no ac, leaks in the room and some even had no running water. When we checked out we asked for credit to come to the resort in the near future and the lady at the concierge desk asked "WHY?"

He stated that they did not do credit card transactions, would accept $20 cash that would pay for the shuttle service to and from their resort.

However the golf cart rides were frequently time consuming and unreliable- sometimes they would show up in 2 minutes and we’d have to rush out, other times they’d arrive 25 minutes later (which made us late for our dinner reservations that charges money for no shows).

I had no trouble getting towels at the pool with no towel card.

and half the "included" restaurants required an additional charge from $35 to $50 per person.

Beware of playing ping pong with Viri, she’ll beat you.

Driver #26 Jaciel was especially helpful with one of our party who wasn’t particularly mobile.

So last year for my 40th Birthday which  my Birthday is in November 16th, and I wanted to celebrate it in Cabo San Lucas Mexico, Pueblo Bonito, so we had made reservations which my birthday fell on a Wednesday, the Main Pool after making friends with the Main Pool Staff and sharing with them about my birthday they went out of their way and surprised me with a little birthday party which was so touching 🥰 it was the best birthday ever!!

We had a large party of 8, including young children.

There our four really nice courts and the locals play there every morning from 8-11am.

We like to hang out at Pool 17 (aka Adult Pool) because it is quiet, no music or parties.

We played pickleball every day, and the gym is well appointed.

4 out 6 of our party were violently Ill in the first 4 days

We love to play beach volleyball every day and he makes sure the net is up and recruits others to play.

We enjoyed their energy and they brought the party when guests were being too lazy.

My family and I had a blast playing volleyball and other pool games.

The rooms are very clean I would recommend getting the all inclusive rust band.

I had the best bartender in the world his name is Alejandro, he made sure my friends and I felt safe when we came for her bachelorette party.

We had to call for towels when there were absolutely non in the room.

We had tried several times to call and email for resos in advance (they said no problem do at check in) for the New Year’s party and dinner

We were asked to call back later and fortunately, we were switched to building 15 on the third floor after two days.

Management call room 1843 to rectify this situation.

I didn't bother calling about it because I just don't think they will do anything.

Attended this resort for a wedding - i received my final bill and it appears wrong - despite phone calls - emails - no answer or contact from anyone at the resort - really poor - it's not the amount it is the lack of communication on their behalf

Other problems:

*A large tarantula appeared in our room the last night 
*No air conditioning or hot water the last day
*Could not get towels sent to the room after 2 calls to housekeeping when we were shorted.

Woke up to the ceiling in our room leaking and literally watching globs of drywall hit the floor, and it was never fixed despite days of calling the front desk to ask for help.

The phone in our room didn't work and wasn't fixed until week 2.

An hour later and no call and no knock on the door, I made another call.

but it was not what I would call an upgrade.

I will not be returning and will look to find another hotel to call home in Cabo.

We had to call a couple of days later for our a/c and power to be restored.

We’ve exchanged our points at RCI for a two week stay at this resort 
The first week it took 6 phone calls and 4 days to fix a broken AC - we could not sleep at all and then another 3 days to fix the second AC that was leaking.

I called Saturday (the morning the hurricane hit land), and was told regarding a variety of topics “we’re putting a plan together, call back later and we hope we’ll have an update.”  When asked about availability of food for our 2-year old, we received a condescending response that all guests were told the day prior to “stock up” on supplies.

Our refrigerator has not been working… after 7 calls and two visits by maintenance… we finally got a different one… After everyone was asleep.

We spent way too many hours on the phone or waiting for someone to show up in the room with problems:  no smoke detector, bedroom fan had no switch to adjust it, tiles broken on jacuzzi tub, lights bulbs taped back in place,.

With hindsight, I’d rather pay a few hundred extra per night and stay somewhere else.

The premium plan is useless because nobody will tell you what drink you can get with a premium plan .

We have paid way too much money to be sitting at the edge of pools.

This year we opted to not purchase the all inclusive and despite the overpriced food items ate for less than half of the cost of two adults for our two week stay.

but the quality is just not there for the cost.

Having paid everything in advance and having a medical emergency (hospitalized); needed to cancel the prepaid trip ahead of time (within the timeframe of limits), it has been more than 30 days and can't get anything out of customer service except "it's been processed".

*In-room breakfast was cold and tasteless 
*Several newer up-charges to the already pricey “all-inclusive” option versus prior visit
*Consistently asked to attend sales presentations

Although the restaurants had very nice decor, we found the food expensive and sub-par.

Again, just pay $20 for a cab v waiting for shuttles.

Prices now make it “seem” like you should pay $150 per person per day to go to all-inclusive upgrade because of prices you’d pay a la carte.

You have to pay $100 for the credit and then if you for some reason don't give them the paper certificate when you leave, no one will help you and then you're on the hook for whatever you spent because you thought you had a credit.

The food was not very good and really expensive if you do not do all inclusive.

I got horrible FOOD POSIONING  and a BACTERIAL INFECTION and had to see the resort doctor at my own expense along with paying for 3 prescriptions and many bottles of electrolytes (not covered by all inclusive).

Then yesterday I attempted to roll over my weeks to the next year and had to pay $100 each to do so.

but it costs 2x an Uber and of course is owned by Pueblo Bonito (lol).

I recently responded to his email asking about what rates were at Quivira Golf Club and if he could help us book a tee time for 3 players for our stay in December 2023.

You can take the bus from The Market and go to the Rosé at no charge which is a few blocks from downtown.

To add insult to injury, the pool's chemical balance was so poorly maintained that it turned our guest's hair green.

Unfortunately, the credit card on file was declined and instead of calling us so we could fix the issue, they just cancelled the reservation and did not tell us for two months, with only two weeks to spare until our vacation.

but does require an up charge if you are on the all inclusive plan.

After the trip, it took me a week to get in touch with the front desk, who charged my credit card a higher amount than what was agreed to at check out.

We were told that day we would be credited back for our charges.

We arrived at 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon, and she charged us $110.00 per person which I personally thought was outrageous, considering the rest of our package was $64.00 per day.

We would have liked a little more explanation about what is and isn't included because we were surprised a few times, once at a restaurant we were under the impression was included, and the other was at the time of check out, there were $200 in small charges and fees for drinks and tips by the pool.

They charge $5.00 for room service even with the all inclusive plan.

Also, didn't love that our Villa didn't have card keys and we were only given three keys (actual keys, not card keys) for our entire party.

I’m still fighting a credit card charge they charged me after check out.

The $1 USD charge on your Puebl Bonito Portfolio goes directly to this fantastic foundation so please , please do not ask to have it removed.

We rented 4 villas for my daughter’s wedding and 35 hotel rooms at sunset.. We had a lot of complaints from guest on top of my Mither checking into a room that had water and  was moldy .. We asked for a refund and was offered a $200 credit.. No acceptable

We were only there for 3 nights so we didn't have the time to experience all the restaurants, so we just stuck to the ones with no extra charges.

Its very disappointing that a resort of this caliber wasn’t able to resolve this or compensate us other than $100 credit.

You will sign it and they will charge your credit card.

Furniture is old and run down and in need of replacement.

The furniture and decor definitely need some updating as it is starting to show its wear and tear.

When we arrived at our villa, all the furniture was covered in paint cloths, the fountains were drained and inoperative, the silverware was missing, we had no soap, no towels and again, the house smelled like a sewer line broke.

Additionally, the state of the furniture being dirty and outdated is concerning.

Not for anyone unable to go up and down stairs since kitchen/living area on 2nd level and 3 of 5 bedrooms on bottom level.It is Desperately in need of updating of furnishings, pool furniture, and the pool paint (pool has lots of places missing paint making it look dirty on the bottom.).

The furniture was refinished, as were the dining room chairs and outdoor furniture.

The furniture was ripped in the living room.

The living room fabric furniture looked like it came from Goodwill.

In the "Could Do Better" column, I would note that the furniture is old, faded, and uncomfortable.

The cushions on the furniture were worn out and stains on the furniture.

If the rest in phase one are like ours, they are dated, need multiple repairs,  from burned out lightbulbs to bathroom sinks not draining, a/c  fan noise, worn furniture with exposed sharp protrusions, phone system dead, fountain not working, crumbling walls near base, missing tiles in the pool.

The furniture is getting worn out, for the initial cost and maintenance paid you would think it would be nicer.
