We had fresh, delicious food daily and our rooms were being cleaned daily.

The options for breakfast and dinner were great.

Shout out to Cesar in the buffet dining room.

Most of the food at the buffet isn’t kept warm enough and seemed dried up and tasteless.

The buffet selections and poolside food offerings at Pepe's made lunches and breakfasts as casual and comfortable as you would like.

So for breakfast and lunch it is just the buffet.

The Japanese specialty restaurant is a MUST try and the buffet was pretty good.

The breakfast and lunch buffets are what you expect.

Had we known, we all could have packed our own food from the dinner buffet that night.

Besides this the food at the buffet was okay,

An additional plus to staying at this resort is you also have access to the other 2 connecting Riu's where you can eat at the buffet and attend the daily/nightly parties.

Beautiful setting both inside and inside, wide variety of delicious foods, pleasant nature of staff who were always willing to help in any way, wonderful relaxing facial in the spa.

We ate at the buffet for all meals, and it was different each night.

Marta cooked some very good steaks at the buffet.

Our last night here, we were having dinner at the buffet when all the lights to the resort went out.

The food was delicious and the service was AMAZING 😍 I can't wait to plan a future trips .

Overall I would say that is the place to eat! If you go to Cabo you absolutely must take a boat tour over to "Lovers Island" and "Divorce beach."

Recommend the short boat ride to The Cabo Arch at Lovers Beach and Divorce Beach.

We took a water taxi to the rocks and arch, highly recommend going to Divorce Beach there as the beach is beautiful.

Saw sea lions, lovers and divorce beach where we got out for an hour and enjoyed a swim.

Sea Lions, whale watching and more from the beach out there called Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach.

Loved the hotel although compared to other Riu’s we have stayed at it was a bit too modern ..

The staff was attentive and the accomodations were clean and modern.

Its super clean, modern and the rooms are very spacious.

The rooms are immaculate with a nice sized tub in the middle of the room and  all modern features.

Every restaurant have the highest quality of food, service and cleanliness .The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very Modern, as the hotel opened in 2018.

More modern look than most of the others, adults only, very friendly staff and lots of things to do to keep you entertained.

The rooms were spacious and modern and the staff worked hard to keep the grounds spotless.

The hotel is also pretty new so it has a modern vibe and decor.

It’s a nice resort with great modern pools.

but always had exhaust fan noise from 8 am to 8pm.

We didn’t sit on the beach during the day just at sunrise, so we didn’t have to worry about the constant pressure sales.

Construction noise was annoying and prevented me from a relaxing massage.

but they are not easy to hear around the hotel, and heard of several rooms who could not hear these announcements at all.

The booze was constantly flowing and it wasn't a constant party every night

CONS: NO RUNNING WATER, NO AC, HORRIBLE FOOD, WATERED DOWN DRINKS, NOISE ALL NIGHT, FLIES EVERYWHERE, CHILDREN'S RESORT CONNECTED, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO RESOLVE OR COMPS OFFERED FOR BAD SERVICE, HOT WATER IN POOLS, NO COOL RELIEF ANYWHERE.

but these were constant and were pushing drugs.

The restrooms on the resort were horrendous, people were using the bathrooms and there was urine and feces everywhere.

My husband is a plumber and if you don’t hear air when you turn the faucet, there’s no water.

But because the air conditioner being so loud you couldn't hardly hear the TV anyway.

My only thing is that while in your room, you can hear all the noise from the hallways, including the doors constantly closing, and the people being loud in the hallways as well as the nighttime entertainment, I wish there was a way to soundproof them more.

This place reeks of a spring break party atmosphere with constant, constant noise and ridiculously loud music at all hours of day and night.

But if it was off, you could hear either pool or show noise like you were right there.

If I had my family at the other resort, I would be pissed to have the loud noise and experience around my kids.

Because after many calls to the hotel property, RIU.com, and Priceline I have been unable to get any sort of refund on a trip canceled by my airline due to Cabo runway damage.

Note this is a large U shape resort and you can hear music like an amphitheater

We came to our room to rest after a long day of traveling and could hear people yelling and screaming through the hotel.

That left only one covered area that would allow us to see some ocean and that space was right beside where people were allowed to smoke so depending on the wind we always got a whiff of smoke.

It reeked of cigarette smoke and we had specifically requested non-smoking room as asthmatic.

The lasagna smelled off and tasted bad too.

In addition, the breakfast package was not good, and we received a shockingly disgusting lunch package.

The AC still was not working, and the fowl smells were unbearable.

All the bathrooms in the hotel were disgusting, full of sh#it.

Toilets filled with poop, not able to wash hands, shower, or brush your teeth.

Toilets were back up; it was such a disgusting sight.

Not to mention, most guests were drenched in sweat because the AC had also been nonworking during this entire 24-hour time span.

The toilets by the pool and the lobby all had urine and feces in them because they could not be flushed.

Our only complaint was that the buffet often smelled like sewage.

but my therapist 
also had very bad body odor and was breathing on my face.

The resort smells like sewer, all over the resort, up to and including in the bathrooms ALL THE TIME.

Our room was fantastic, just small irritations (no cover for French drain and I stubbed my toe, safe didn't work and inconsistent clean linen 1st day-no hand towels or floormat, 2nd day-we get floormat and hand towels, 3rd day- hand towels

Constant drinking, people puking it was pretty disgusting.

Found mold in the bathroom, another unpleasant surprise.

Everything else was great especially the swim up bar service.

If you want to swim, you can walk about a km down the beach where the water is calmer.

There were two swim up bars and two large pools.

The pools are nice, the ones with the swim up bars got a little crazy

The pools were beautiful and clean, our favorite pool was the swim up bar!!

Be sure to ask for Oscar at the swim up bar, he was the best bartender.

The room was large (pics included) with a large balcony and a hanging rack for your swim wear!

Suite Rooms: 5/5 Stars, Balcony room, spacious shower, bathtub in the middle of the room, unlimited alcoholic beverages, soda, and water available

Food and Beverages: 3.5/5 Stars, I mostly ate at the buffet.

Erick, Yanet, and Mario at the swim up bar kept our drinks full and kept us laughing and smiling!

The following day I went to a more basic restaurant had a few tacos and beer and noticed a 10% service fee on my invoice.

We were charged over $300 of “fees” above and beyond tips, taxes and mandatory charges.

After many discussions, producing paperwork showing where I was booked, and a plea for them to honor their obligation, they refused and said my only option was to take the room at the lesser resort and that was it, no compensation/upgrade for my loss of value, no resort credit, just take it or leave it.

Despite the hotel charges you 30% of tax and service in your booking, you need to bring extra cash to tips the waiters or they let you wait for your drink and food forever.

They incorrectly billed me then and have continued to charge my credit card.

They do push the timeshare pitch and aren’t always up front with how things are charged.

No towel cards mean people leave their towels on their chairs even when they are gone for the day and new arrivals can’t tell if a chair is truly available.

Gym doesn’t open till 7am and there is an $11 US charge, never been to a property that charges to use the gym.

After going there for 17 years (AS AN OWNER) I don't like the treatment I been given, PLEASE BE AWARE OF CHARGES PLACED ON YOUR ACCOUNT.

To make matters worse, their only concern was getting our card to pay for the new nights stay, and not the health and welfare of 5 of his sick guests.

Shame on Playa Grande Resorts for charging their Disabled Guests extra.

After 1 hour, we finally got our room keys and were then ushered over to speak to the concierge to receive our towel cards.

This place was packed while we were there so the fact that they could remember who we were and what we ordered seemed kind of important to be sure we were being charge accordingly.

Imagine walking to the iconic arc along the beach then crossing over the the Beach of Love and The Divorce beach.

You can walk down the beach to get close to where divorce beach is,

It's absolutely gorgeous and if you're able to climb over the rocks you can get to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach!

You are also technically within walking distance of lands end, lovers beach, and divorce beach.

The hotel is right across the street from the marina.

Only complaint - our room faced the marina where Sr Frogs is located.

Playa Grande Resort boasts a convenient location near Cannery Beach and a short stroll to Medano Beach through the nearby marina.

It was great to have the resort walking distance to the Marina.

Great location, lovely property, easy access to the marina and all downtown Cabo offers.

The resort is close to town and the marina and is easy to walk to everything.

The best resort on the All the people are very friendly, something that really pleases me is that every time we visit this beautiful resort we are always greeted with a big smile, the quality of the hotel is too good and best of all it is literally next to the Marina.

We walked all over marina at night and always felt safe.

The rates were reasonable especially as the location is within walking distance of the marina.

The proximity to downtown and the marina eliminate the need for a rental car, you are walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shops.

Beautiful resort, then walk down the hill 5 minutes and you are at the marina and downtown.

The marina and shopping is a 10-15 minute walk from the resort which made it very easy to do anything you wanted to do off of the resort.

We did like that it was close to the marina!

Stayed in two different rooms - an ocean view penthouse (2 bedroom) and a marina penthouse (2 bedroom) on “the ridge.” There are pool renovations happening - there are 4 pools, one of the four will be out of commission until they’re all completed.

It’s a 10 minute walk to the Marina and 20 minutes to downtown Cabo San Lucas!

Although not far from Marina and "downtown" in distance, the walk there is not easy nor scenic, especially on a hot day.

The fire dancers as well as the Mexican fiesta was so fun and awesome.

The food at the Mexican fiesta this year was top notch and ever single staff person worked extremely hard to keep us well fed and filled with the drinks of our choice.

The Mexican party night is by far my favorite part of staying here!

The Mexican Fiesta on Monday nights is fun, great local entertainment.

Some activities include the famous tequila volleyball in the pool, Mexican fiesta night, and the beach party.

but the Mexican Fiesta was extremely fun and very engaging.

Was there in 2021 the Mexican Fiesta, beach party is something you can’t miss.

She made the Mexican fiesta a great experience.

Last night this came to light after an expensive dinner for three at the steakhouse.

You tip, then you pay for additional “fees” and taxes.

At that point I figured we were going to be put in the dreaded Ridge, or forced to pay for an upgrade to be in the main resort.

Avoid the offers, starting in the airport and then in the hotel lobby at all costs.

Not sure if the price I paid matched the experience I got.

When I canceled, there was no warning that the rate was nonrefundable.

There’s an infinity pool, a water slide, and allegedly the pools up here are adults only. Here are some of my observations: 
* 4 star resort
* All inclusive meal option available
* Uber Eats is available for some local restaurants 
* Food at the resort is overpriced for the quality
* $15 taxi ride into marina shopping area 
* $120 taxi ride from airport
* walking from resort to marina (where there are restaurants and shopping) is doable

This does not make life easier for guests who want to take an Uber (instead a regular cab or or transport companies indicated by the hotel, which were more expensive) and I think only having a vehicle and passenger identification when accessing the hotel would be necessary, even with security issues.

Beware the exorbidant food and beverage costs if you don't use the meal plan.

Unbelievable service for this kind of pricing for a hotel and the most worst customer experience and service ever.

My advise is to avoid such a ripoff places

This would seem like an unfortunate price hike mishap if it wasn't for it happening again and again once you check all other seemingly great priced offerings.

Like any resort, food and drinks were underwhelming and overpriced

enough so that we had to call the Nurse on campus to bandage us up.American money is best since it is so much easier, plus when we exchanged it for pesos, there was an expensive fee.

The sports on television is very entertaining.

And *Amy and *Rodrigo with the entrainment staff are always so happy, pleasant, polite, fun and always a smile on their faces.

The entertainment staff provide a lot of fun activities such as water aerobics and volleyball.

Entertainment team does a nice job of trying to engage guests.

And to everyone else that made this trip special: the entertainment staff, the Fiesta Night dancers, the phenomenal staff at the Sports Bar, and our lovely housekeepers.

The wait staff and entertainment staff (Selma, Amy, Humberto, Luis) were the most enjoyable and the main reason we always enjoy ourselves every time we come to Playa Grande.

Lots of entertainment, everyone was always so helpful.

The Entertainment staff was wonderful especially Aiimee, who was hardworking, vibrant and always with a beautiful smile.
