Love the little cove beach, that was rarely crowded.

The scenery was refreshing & private beach was nice to enjoy.

We went to Medano beach for dinner at the office,  don’t recommend it over priced, and rowdy surroundings (we were traveling with a kiddo).

The beach is a short walk away and was perfect for snorkeling.

We love lounging by the pool with its amazing views, or walking down to the beautiful besch to take a dip in the ocean (it is a bit of a walk down winding stairs.

Beach and fishing options are within a 15 minute Uber ride.

I would say the big selling points are view of the arch from the pool and many rooms, a restaurant with great food, an uncrowned,vendor free semi private swimmable beach, all rare in Cabo.

Just next door is a must swim private beach, with snorkelling.

Chileno is a local hotspot with many Mexican families enjoying the beach together.

Lovely infinity pools overlooking the cliffs, ocean and beach.

This resort is on the very edge of the bay and is a $6 Uber ride to town which is nice.

but the view and private beach make up for what it lacks from the big resorts.

Beach access was less than desirable for myself,

The beach is beautiful…private and secluded.

Here are a list of reasons why:

The beach is great even though a little gritty

The beach was a short stairway onto a nice secluded beach that we were fortunate to witness a turtle nest hatch and crawl out into the waves for sunrise!

The restaurant is overpriced and no even tasty.

Paid over 1,000.00 for mold in the shower, bathtub and kitchen sink.

although Cabo is getting mre expensive each year.

There is only one restaurant at the resort and 2 bars, quality of food and drinks below average and expensive for what you are getting.

There is one restaurant on the property…great food and amazing service (a little pricey).

Restaurants there are over the top pricey and the food does not justify this.

For groceries to avoid the restaurants, there is a La Comer close by (5 USD for Uber each way).

but we had cab fare for nine people to and from Marina that got expensive.

Ubers come straight to the hotel and cost anywhere form $6 - $15 to go to downtown Cabos San Lucas.

though that would have paid me $150 out of the resort fee).

My husband and I are PAID OFF Welk Owners.

The restaurant charged over $5.00 for diet coke.

Originally thought we’d have to pay $135 USD per massage for an hour and a half massage

I saw a negative review "Avoid at al costs!!!".

Room quality is poor old, outdated, and dirty.The restaurant (only one available) at the property is expensive and serves horrible bland food.

On the same day we rented a car, you get 24 hours for the $56 through the concierge, we also wandered over to Santa Maria beach to do some snorkling in the morning.

We went to Chileno and Santa Maria beach instead which were amazing for snorkeling.

Chileno Beach and Santa Maria Beach are minutes away.

There is an additional $7 USD a day resort fee, which was well worth it as we used their beach chairs, beach umbrella, and pool towels every day to visit the surrounding beaches (Santa Maria Beach and Chileno Bay were our favourites).

Better snorkeling was at Santa Maria Beach, a 5 minute drive from the resort.

We saw todos santos, arches, 2 cabos, Pamilla beach, Cerritos beach, Santa maria beach and our favorite for snorkeling Chilleno beach!

My family had to resort to staying by the pools and avoiding the beach area because of the flies.

You can book excursions inside the hotel as well as on the beach, we did both.

Rius Santa Fe hotel is a fabulous place in a great beach location with great sea views including the rock archway at a distance and cruise ships docking close by.

Service otherwise was just ok. Beach was great, pools great, was impressed there were always chairs available at both!

The beach: there were so many beach vendors selling things.

As for the beach, do keep in the mind that the waves are very powerful and can knock you down.

The path to the beach by building 7 stinks always.

Loction was great could walk down beach right in to main town Cabo.

The hotel is very big, good location the beach is nice.

the water at the beach is glorious and it was calm enough that people swam several days of my visit.

The people down at the beach were very helpful as well.

you can walk to cabo town within 20m along the beach.

Frequently the waves are imposing and the undertow very dangerous - the view of the ocean from the infinity pools is lovely and walking on the beach is nice

I would suggest upgrading to a partial oceanview or oceanview it is reasonably priced $140/ person for the 7 days, as it will give you an amazing view of the bay and the arches.

If you reserve a room with a ocean or marina view you can almost guarantee you won’t get it, they stated “just because you reserve online doesn’t mean we can guarantee you that room”
I’m pretty sure that’s the whole point of reservations, ?

The beach is great for enjoying the landscape,

We rented a van for a group of 5 and heading to la Paz and Playa Balandra beach.

but we didn’t have an issue with noise.

but it seems we were downgraded, as party rooms are smaller with no couch.The rooms have thin walls as we could hear everyone in the hall and at all times of the night.

they had nightly parties which is fine,but you can hear the music bumping throughout the night.

We were rudely awoken to this bizarre encounter.

One thing I didnt like was the obnoxious drunks who would make noises at all hours of the night and woke us up a few times throughout the week.

it is so loud - the rooms are not soundproof, constant door banking, people walking to/from the disco and/or parties shouting, constantly up every couple of hours.

Drilling started at 7am above our room and continued all day.

Tips:  electricity in the rooms turn on with a card - the towel cards work - you don’t need to use a door access card 
Overhead fan in room was cold with the A/C blowing - the switch to turn fan off was by one of the beds switches for lamps 
Room smell is mildewy iso be aware.

but so was sitting in the pool bar watching the water traffic and non-stop crashing surf.

Also EVERY night the room sirens go off in middle of night.

Which we are sure we were not we were following all traffic.

Incredibly noisy, thumping music morning,noon & night, no peace to be found anywhere.

We flew all the way from US to Mexico and hearing that from the hotel manager to go look for another hotel is absolutely ridiculous.

These parties don't go any later than 11:00 so the noise from there was a non issue and I am very noise sensitive.

A bunch of us shared what we were told while we were at the pool that day and it was easy to see that they weren’t prioritizing the air conditioning system to be fixed and we’re just kind of telling people what they wanted to hear.

I could care less about the noise and partying that’s what vacations are about.. so that type of Karen complaining should just stop.

And you can basically hear the bass/music from the party pool anywhere in the resort while the parties are going on.

Grab a city bus to swim and snorkel at Santa Maria Beach, Chileno Beach and Pamilla Beach and don’t forget to water taxi across to El Arco.

Definitely not the cleanest inside the room and the rooms were always cold and damp when you slept.

I say this because OMG it was disgusting how many flies spread like crazy when opening a door to get hamburger toppings.

I agree, outside of a few restaurants the food was disgusting (even the burger spot was gross) and staff sit around and let flies all over the food.

I mainly stayed in the room the last two days to get some peace from the vendors and loud music and nasty food.

They demanded to enter the room to check for smoking.

At the end of our second day after eating in the Asian restaurant, half my family and I got laid up in bed with a bad case of Monetzuma's Revenge (vomit and diarreha).

My only complaint was the coffee at the breakfast buffet was absolutely disgusting - must have been made with tap water with swamp scum in it.

They do NOT offer any kind of room service 
And to make matters even worse, our room reeked of mold and mildew.

The restaurant food was awful and disgusting.

Manager (Evan) is rude, all the front desk people are rude, roaches everywhere in the dining hall, dirty and filthy snack bars, I can keep on going.

Bugs and debris on the surface, bugs and debris on the bottom, and a literally sheen of nasty everywhere.

-The lines were disgusting, stained and dirty

-The dining area is swarming with bugs

-Little children grabbing food with their hands

-There is no business area so if you have to do work, you either do it in the room, the reception area which has no air conditioning or the sports bar, where children run wild

-It’s useless to have reservations at restaurants because they let anyone in 

-Oh yeah, you can show up to the restaurants in your swimwear.

The pools and pool parties were super fun until I started to get major skin irritations on my feet and below the waist… ya the family jewels are fluorescent red, peeling, and extremely painful.The doctor said it Looks like a very bad chemical burn.

The room was smelled like mould when we got in and the shower leaked water

The food why you could find something edible was a disappointment especially the Italian restaurant yuck!

Everything tasted horrible and disgusting!

Yes, shower works, with really stinky water.

The server went as far to turn OFF the machine in front of us so we couldn't use it ourselves for self-service, DISGUSTING!

Armondo, the beach drinks server, is a gem, and he exudes the positivity and hospitality of the RIU brand.

The negative comments are shocking, the people are amazing, drinks are easy to get, buffet is good, pool is clean and the beach has a good vibe.

Swimming at the beach area was wonderful and the views were breathtaking. Thanks!

Pros: clean room, staff was excellent, pools were good, beautiful beach view, buffet had many options.

The beach walk difficult as it's deep sand and on quite an angle.

I really enjoyed the amazing view from any pool directly by the beach and the ocean and beautiful sunsets over the landscape at Land’s End.

The pools were beautiful and so was the beach.

With that Uber is not allowed access, and I find the Cabs expansive 300 peso to go to marina or Walmart.

No real beach access, just sand and an ocean view with plenty of pools with drunk people.

but you can walk outside to the beach and swim.

Also, you can't go on the beach by the resort to swim.

Around the property, it seemed to be stronger and more consistent.That is a concern as we were stuck having to do zoom calls in public areas of the hotel for the WiFi and that was not as comfortable.

but you also don’t want to run up your mobile phone bill by using 3G/5G when WiFi ***should*** be PLENTIFUL.

However, my partner got their phone taken from one of the cubbies at the neon party and unfortunately it wasn’t recovered before we had to leave the following afternoon, so I’d suggest keeping anything valuable on you or locked in your room.

My son also stated that when he went to there called the security guy on his personal cellphone..not on the walkie-talkie not on the hotel phone.

She
told the person on the phone that we need both housekeeping AND maintenance.

My friends had to call a pharmacy themselves.

Brother had blood stains on his duvet
- Had to call and ask 3x for a rollaway bed

He calls the front and gets the room number.

We were not allowed out of room come Sat and that was all the food given until 2pm - after numerous calls.

After realizing this I wandered around and asked 3 different security people to let us in our room or at the very least call the front desk to have someone come let us in.

Could not even talk or hear music on the phone.

My only tip would be to upgrade the plugs etc to accomadate phones etc.

Had to call for maintenance to get it unlocked.

There was a sense of dissatisfaction if employees didn’t receive tips for the slightest of actions as calling a cab.

I figured no one was taking me seriously so I did not want to call and instead just went there.

I attempted to call the front desk 5x from the phone in our room without any success.

Before then my phone was turned off so I was not able to locate it.

- If you are less mobile, please note there are LOTS of stairs to get around here. I would like to note that Nicole tried to make amends for the many issues we had in our room upon checkin by making us a few "reservations" at the specialty restaurant (though getting a table at the restaurants was not hard)

If you like snorkelling, lovers beach, Chileno beach and Santa Maria beach are all worth a visit.

Rooms showed signs of mold and smell of mildew.

The sheets feel wet and everything smells musty.

Just a disgusting experience especially the food.

Smells like sewer really bad and rooms have fallen apart. Beware.

but there are paint chips, chipped wood moldings,cracked tiles, chukcn out of concrete walls, bathroom fans that don't work, etc.

Even the Saxaphone was dripping in sweat which was also not appealing.

Smoking locations are not wheelchair accessible and too remote.

Very warm and smelly elevators, lacking any form of ventilation.

Food lacked flavor, floor in room got my feet dirty when walking barefoot on first day of stay, sometimes it smelled like sewer water in our room and on the atea by the pool, taxi service super high compared to local rates

but since there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, the room felt musty and a bid humid.

They shouldn't put the smoking station by the swim up rooms that people pay more money for!

but our neighbor smoked on his balcony, there was someone by beach washrooms smoking, guests on ground floor with pools attached smoked in their pools and a few poolside smokers trying to be sneaky.

We'll just open the balcony door and enjoy some fresh air since the room was musty smelling anyway.

The beach is stunning and the views were unbelievable. WOW!!

The views of the bay are just breathtaking.

The pool, the beach, the spa, the food … all simply superb.

but this one has a wonderful swimmable beach.

The good: The most beautiful and kid friendly beach with snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking which is rare to find in Cabo given the strong tides.

The beach activities were amazing, plentiful, and generally free which was a ton of fun for both the kids and the adults.

Far away from the hustle and bustle of Cabo, on a private beach with two amazing pools, what more could you ask for?

We went swimming every day at their beach in front of the hotel,  Santa Maria Bay which is the best swimmable beach in Cabo.

The food, property, rooms, beach and spa are all spectacular, too.

It's modern, the staff are super attentive, clean, the spa is beautiful, the food is great, the beach is amazing.

Check in process: 10/10 (welcome cocktail, escort to room, luggage)
Check out process: 5/10 (slow and receipt does not add up)
Housekeeping: 10/10 (they come at least twice a day, very clean!) Shower: 5/10 (temperature not warm enough)
Linens: 1/10 (newspaper sheet count)
Signage: 6/10 (can be clearer, as pathways are not always clear)

On the best **swimmable** beach in Cabo!!

The property is just spectacular, gorgeous vistas , spacious rooms, the pools and beach area is amazing (being water shoes the ‘sand’ is more gravely here and hard on feet).

The adult infinity edge pool overlooking the bay was a dream.

I also agree with some of the other reviews that say that they need to do a better job of explaining to people the status of the construction because it is happening on both sides of the resort..

This review is for the recent construction.

but I think you just need to make sure you get a room that’s far away from the construction on the hill and more in the middle of the property for the best experience.

Only negative, is the construction, which in full disclosure they did mention during booking and offered a credit, was quite louder and more disruptive than we anticipated.

There was construction work goin on near my room so it was a bit annoying. 3.

It was one joyous surprise after another that more than made up for the noisy construction.

Right now, you have construction on both sides of the property (Nov 2021) and does not look like it’s going to be done anytime soon.

The only cons I would mention is the cost (the place is not cheap) and the construction that is going on on either side of the resort.

Construction- there is construction nearby- if looking at ocean- on the right side (West side of resort)- so ask to steer clear of rooms on that side as it can be loud- we had rooms 718 and 728 and needed to be moved due to lack of view and noise.

Would be 5/5 except for the noise of neighboring construction to both the north and south.

Yes, the prices are high, even for a five star resort ($85 for a small filet of fish, $90 for a duck breast) 

The lunch items which we tried a different item each day got progressively worse and more expensive approx.

Food and drink is expensive, like more than I was expecting and I generally don't care about that stuff LOL!

The mediocre:
For the price (we were paying around $1700/night), I did expect more from a service perspective and was hoping service would be more like the Four Seasons where they anticipate your needs.

We took advantage of stay 3 nights get a 4th night free , airport transfers and $70 food credit each day , make no mistake , this place is expensive

They really took the time to pay attention to the small details.

but at least they lived up to their price (for a one time splurge).

$30 cheeseburgers and on and on.. so for many staying here that is no problem at all- for others- something to think about before booking.. if the price is fine- then do it!!!

The accommodations, food, and drinks were all quite expensive.

Get over the sticker shock of prices up front and bear in mind the cost of a taxi plus a meal would amount to what you pay here for a fantastic meal, so no need to leave if you’re only here for a long weekend.

The Santa Maria beach is beautiful, the water is warm and calm, and the hotel attendant will bring whatever you need to where you are.

When I first traveled to Cabo San Lucas in the mid 1980's we would stay at the Twin Dolphin Resort which was located on hill above the new Montage and shared the same beach of Santa Maria Beach.

The bed was uncomfortable hard as a rock.

There are a lot of flies in the pool restaurant which makes having lunch there quite uncomfortable. 2.
