I think they've rented out the rooms next door as a set to film the next installment of Die Hard as it is unbearably noisy.

Our room was big - a suite, i think, so we had a door divider between the 2 areas.

I went back to my room to get ready for my day when there was a knock at my door.

I gave this 4 stars because of the AC issue and because there is no door on the shower and water just gets EVERYWHERE no matter how careful you are lol!

but in Europe sometimes you will find showers with no doors so water gets all over the floor if you are not very careful.

negatives: the shower has no door or curtains so the water just goes everywhere.

but the main doors might be harder due to their weight and the cobblestones outside.

I don't understand why they don't just install a glass door in the space where there is currently no glass.

but the door was too stiff to move not that we needed to use it anyway.

We could hear everything next door and everything outside.

If you stay, try the little music bar 3 doors to the right, 1 Euro a drink seemed to be the idea,

This is a very well designed hotel, sound proofed windows, no doors banging.

On the last morning I had to open the door and say “ssh”!

However the shower has a strange design with no door or screen so it floods the whole bathroom floor, very annoying.

but again in a contrived, ironic sort of way, but it's not in any way uncomfortable and while I initially thought there were no wardrobes, I eventually found them – and a minibar – simply by pressing the walls and hoping that doors would open for me; they did.

What we got was a nice room with a 'sitting room' separated from tiny bedroom with a sliding door.

although there is space near the door to leave suitcases so they don't get in the way too much.

but you could not shower without soaking the entire bathroom, based on where the spigot was located and the fact that there was no curtain or door around the tub.

Room was clean and beds were so comfy, loved the blackout blinds which didn’t let any light in!

Our triple room was clean, airy and quite spacious.

We had fresh water bottles each day when requested, and the one day we requested a room clean it was lovely.

It’s a really central location and the rooms were very clean and tidy.

Clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly and helpful staff (front desk, housekeeping and breakfast room staff are all great).

On the plus side,  The rooms were clean and beds were made everyday and they gave you free bottled water, tea and coffee.

The rooms are very clean and the location is just great and you can walk from the hotel to any point in the city.

Our room was clean, comfortable, peaceful and quirky.

My room was clean and comfortable - typical of a nice, mid-range hotel.

The hotel was very clean and the room was very comfortable.

There was always a staff on hand that spoke English, so that was very helpful, staff very nice and the rooms were clean, just small.

Staff were friendly enough, arranging a fan to cool the room as the air-con wasn't really coping with the heat.

we finally got a room with a working ac and a functioning door, just to realize that the bathroom sink was clogged.

Anyway, the room carpet was fool of stains and cigarette burns, the window has a bad insulation feeling the wind blowing and the ventilation system is loud during the night and difficult to find a comfortable temperature.

There was a rattling noise coming from the air conditioning when I arrived.

The only thing I didn’t like was the sound of the fan in bathroom all day/ night.

The a/c didn’t work and why would I need a/c in Budapest in February?

The air conditioning didn't cool so had to keep the windows open.

The only negative point is the airconditioning.

But our air conditioning barely worked and we were very uncomfortable.

The Air Conditioner in our Room 721 was not cooling properly & being Summers, the room became hot during the day time.

While the general hotel was ok I had no air conditioning in my room for multiple nights and therefore my stay was not good.

The thermostat in my room in this hotel seemed unresponsive and I ended up sleeping with the window open on the second two nights of my three night stay.

Reservation Department should be decentralized attached to Art’otel rather than a centralized unit.

Although we turned the air con off there was a constant hum from it which made sleeping difficult.

We asked for heater and they said they don't turn it in this time of the year.

but unfortunately Air conditioning in the room was not working the time we stayed here.

The A/C in my room was not really cold, therefore in the afternoon, the room was pretty hot.

Small size of the room, old carpet, small and old toilet, no mini bar in the room, no smart tv and very bad wi fi connection a 5th floor

From arriving check-in staff bar staff all hopeless.As for cleaning staff they all must have sight impairment.The carpet was filthy rest wasent much better rubbish in bathroom bin from previous occupier.Barr staff were  hopeless and so we're reception staff.DONT EVER STAY THERE YOU MIGHT CATCH SOMTHING.

The hotel displays lots of arty pieces, there are little black birds that sit on perches in the corner of the rooms and quirky little features like the bowling balls under the bedside cabinets - our friends had bowling pins in their room and carpets with

The carpet had so many stains on it that I kept my shoes on.

It full of bobbins and sewing related decor on the carpet.

but terrible choice of bowling ally carpets.

Also the cleanliness of the room could he improved carpet dirty and dust behind bedside tables.

Carpets in the rooms could be more cleaner.

Not sure if it is a four star hotel, coffee table was damaged, bedding was very creasy, and also there were marks on the carpet.

Although the carpet in our room is a bit dated and needs changing, overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Other people in our group also had plumbing problems, stinky rooms, cigarette holes in the carpet, dirty sheets and a weird wooden Bird in each room which grossed one of our group out.

The carpet and walls in this room could do with a little maintenance as could the tiled ares outside the lift.

The carpet is dirty, debris and dust in all the corners and along the walls and under the bed and mini bar.

The hotel rooms and halls are carpeted and the carpets are heavily soiled.

The carpets, the bathroom door, the table all need some repairs or changes.

Carpets in particular could do with a serious hoovering.

The room was very very warm - this time of year they turn off the air con, the only way to cool the room down was to open the window.

Negative points: room was small, quite hot and had loud unit that controlled heating.

I was told they don’t operate the air con at that time of the year.

The receptionist promised to change our room throughout the day in which they did except for the fact it had spiders and a spider net  , by which was very scary and unexpected in addition to a very noisy ac.

Would have scored a higher rating if the room had working air-con.

Now the bad:

Room was way too hot and we used the air conditioning which didn’t appear to make much difference.

in February so anyone up there in swim wear was just absolutely freezing!

The only downside is that the room got very hot and the air con didn’t seem to work.

The first evening, the aircon kept me awake.

Also, the aircon didn't seem to work and there were no instructions . .

No matter how low we set the air conditioning, it was uncomfortably warm especially during the night.

but after causing a fuss over the air con we thought we had caused enough trouble but it was still annoying all the same.

We opened the window and switched on the air con

though even with the air con on the coldest we had to open the window.

He also motivate other stuff to do same. I agree with other reviews that fan in bathroom is too noisy

Only minus is the noise from the vent in the shower and the nearby church bell.

however, and try as I might, I couldn’t work the air con.

Aside from being small the room we had (222) was incredibly warm.

The room was so SMALL that it would have been rather enough for a single person, not a couple like us.

We paid for luxury room with double bed and we found a very small old room in old hotel !

The room was rather small with no furniture to sit on, there was no complimentary water,

The room is a little small and the wardrobe space is minimal

but we were very disappointed, when we got here, the rooms were tiny and I can honestly say the we have never stayed in anywhere as bad as this for the high price they charge, Also it looks like this room 444 has been flooded from the bathroom at some point and the laminate floor has lifted but was never replaced.

While rooms are small, service is excellent.

Small disadvantage was that the room was dark.

Our room was one of the dark rooms, room 14, beautifully presented.

The only negative was the room was very dark and a bit austere - could do with more lighting and colour.

Downsides - our room was a little dark and some noise from the bar downstairs on weekend.

they are a little dark, so putting your makeup on has to be done in the bathroom,

My only slight gripe was that the room did appear a little on the dark side unless the curtains were fully drawn

but inspire of large windows, it was slightly dark.

The "regular"  rooms have gray walls - it makes the room dark .

although on the dark side, was very restful.

I would only suggest a better lightening of "cool" rooms that are a little too dark.

The second one is that the bedside lamp is too dark and it was a bit difficult for me to read in bed before sleep.

The room (number 15) needed more lighting (dark walls, dim lights) and the only place to sit was on the chair by the desk - there is enough space for a couple of chairs and this would have been welcomed.

Now the beds are on the soft side , the halls have motion lights so its dark until you step into them.

The street might look a bit dark and quiet at night

The hotel has auto light sensors which come on a bit too late as you climb the stairs, leaving the steps rather dark even in daytime.

This fan starts when you turn on the light in the bathroom.

having said that, the bathroom could have a larger mirror and more lighting for applying make-up.

but when someone turns on the light in the bathroom, it lights up the bedroom for light sleepers.

Some of the rooms have an opaque window instead which would be disruptive if someone turned on the bathroom light during the night.

but, admittedly, didn't say anything about, and from other reviews I read later it seemed like they might have tried to find us a room with a larger bed) slid apart like they were on an air-hockey table, the decor was bland and sparse (and not really in a minimalist style sort of way where that would have seemed intentional), the hairdryer was broken (although they did get us a new one almost immediately), and the lighting was odd.

The few pieces of furniture were white press board; there was a stupid glass window between the bathroom and the bedroom which served no purpose other than to shine a light on your sleeping partner when one of you uses the bathroom at night; ineffective air conditioning.

but lit up the sleeeping area when the bathrrom light was turned on.

my only criticism is i didn't like the lighting in the room, it could have been better, esp for reading in bed.

And don’t miss out on a wander down to the river at night as the city lights up and becomes quite magical.

My only complaint is the rooms need better lighting for reading.

One thing they need to do is have better lighting as you could not read.

While there was no glass wall in our room, there was a glass window to the bathroom, assuring light in the sleeping area, if someone turned the bathroom light on.

The lighting is worse than any ever found in a modern hotel, other than a few hotels in third-world countries.

Grey coloured walls and nice light fixtures.

Remember to get two key cards, as a person leaving the room needs one to operate the hall lighting and the elevator, and the person left behind needs one to keep the lights on.

There was a tiny porch for those who might want to smoke. Ick!

but a very stale smoke smell hallway because that lounge door was left open.

It was nice weather during our stay and I opened the window at night (can get a little humid after shower) - I did smell cigarette smoke early in the morning and strong smells from breakfast cooking - my only minor gripe.

although the cold and damp didn't affect our enjoyment too much!

There was nothing what you miss- gym, Finnish sauna, smoking area, PC in the hallway, a gorgeous courtyard and, as if it hadn't been enough, at the ground floor was an art gallery- Art Corner Gallery Casati (in the week where I was staying, gallery theme was "Sexual Identity").

There are smoking balconies on the 2nd and 3rd floor landings which my husband used and so he was slightly offended to get 2 notes in the room 'reminding' us that rooms are non-smoking and fines may be imposed for breaking these rules.

My only complaint was the ash tray in my non-smoking room!

The only thing I would like to draw attention to is the following:

we required a non-smoking room and were assured to get one.

however, do not smell like smoke, so I am uncertain whether this is a non-smoking hotel and they just don't enforce it
-There are no deadbolts or secondary restraints on the door, so hotel staff can get in at any time.
