Overall I would go back just hope they step up their game especially for the rate they charge to stay there

Fabulous swimming pools..great boating trips, pickle ball, clay shooting and archery.

Our children had a great time and there were plenty of activities for them even little ones!

The property's stunning views, multiple dining options, and activities for all ages make it an ideal choice for a relaxing getaway.

There are so many fun activities and places to explore.

The service experience was incredible from prior to arrival with several efforts made by staff to prepare for our arrival, book activities, make us familiar with holiday events, etc.

Susie's morning yoga class was amazing-she is a special person.

We enjoyed activities by montage such as bike riding, the 5K run on Christmas Eve going to treehouses, and the swing in front of our hotel rooms!!!

If you don’t like biking, they offer every kind of activity you can think of.

The pools are lovely as well and the sprawling acreage has plenty of activities for kids and adults alike.

At the Inn, Nancy and Catherine at planning were fantastic with our kids; our girls were excited to get all their activity badges.

Shooting sports, fishing (fresh and salt water), golf, spa, boating, and even equestrian sports.

The kids loved playing on the treehouses, nightly s’mores, biking as a family around the property (though watch out for alligators), swimming, and bowling in Moreland Village.

Thanksgiving is the best because Of all the extra activities, from the oyster roast.

One night, the s’mores were canceled due to weather and there wasn’t a back up activity for the kids.

While it  so peaceful and relaxing there is also so many wonderful activities.

I enjoyed the size of the property and the variety of activities and restaurants on site (there is a cuisine for everyone).

There were activities for couples, families, and groups.

The gym is clean and beautiful with peloton bikes, a separate yoga studio, etc.

We stayed in one of the cottages, complimentary bikes parked right out front.

The rooms are beautifully appointed and there are ample bicycles to go around for all the guests!

The bike trails were awesome, and we enjoyed seeing the local wildlife.

Our boys (10/11) had such a fantastic time - loved the smores, pools being heated, pickleball, bike rides, SOOO much to explore.

There are scenic bike tours and things to explore around the area and fantastic fishing if you get the right guide,

I rode my bike to dinner, over the bridge by River Club and there was a gator (baby luckily) sitting right at the edge of the grass.

The pool area is beautiful and has a great vibe, and our favorite on-property is electric bikes for miles and miles of safe and beautiful trails in and out of the residential area and golf course.

The place had the red carpet rolled out for lots of fun: two water slides, lots of bikes that were assigned for the weekend, etc.

All around a fantastic family trip we will remember forever from the gorgeous bike rides to the wonderful dining, to the golf cart rides with Anthony that gave us great history with his perfect sense of humor .

That being said, the cottage we stayed in might be the most beautiful room we have ever stayed in and the bicycles outside are a great touch.

I would absolutely repeat the bike tour and private boating tour.

The bikes are free for inn guests and there is so much to explore.

Definitely need to make reservations for restaurants at peak season, also reserve golf carts and bikes.

We enjoyed the bike trails, restaurants and the spa was amazing.

Bikes were provided for touring around the property,

The food was delicious, golf, tennis, pickleball, pools, firepits, s'mores everything was thought out here.

My father also enjoyed playing golf at May River Golf Club!

The concierge staff and golf cart drivers all deserve a shout out.

The golf course was in great shape and pro shop employees and caddy were very helpful.

There were a ton of fun activities to do including tennis, golf, and boating.

One of the employees Josh was so kind and would offer to give us rides to where we are going on his golf cart.

When checking in, the front desk explained that there always golf carts circling the property, and you can easily just hop in one to get from place to place.

Golf cart drivers shared stories while shuttling us around, fresh coffee in back deck every morning, and even poolside food was tasty.

The golf carts driven by Mr. Bill, Anthony and Josh allowed scenic tours of marshes, forests and gorgeous cottages..  Their story telling  kept us  listening to facts and fun tales.

We also rented a golf cart for our longer rides out to Moreland and the girls LOVED this.

The boats, the nature, the restaurants, the artillery punch, the service, golf carts s’more‘s at night over the fireplace.

Josh (golf cart transportation) was also very nice and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the property.

There are a ton of activities - two pools, one adults only, treehouses, bikes, horseback riding, golf, s’mores and more.

We enjoyed the golf and the inshore fishing.

It took 3 calls and a manger to finally get it corrected and taken off of the bill.

When you attempt to call the hotel, the phone is not answered promptly or sometimes at all.

Even calling shortly after concierge makes car ride to make minor time change in airport pickup (Montage doesn't encourage ubers in or out) results in an extra $50 fee.

but the woman was not open to calling the front desk to confirm our reservation.

The new GM has banned Ubers from coming down into the complex to pick people up so don't try to call one or schedule one for a return trip.

He hands me a list of 20 names, and I call each one-by-one.

A few things to call out:
-	Concierge: Laura and here team at the concierge were invaluable in making sure we had dinner reservations and never missed an opportunity to get a pin for our daughter’s lanyard.

I tried to get ahold of them via phone and email to book horseback riding prior to our stay and didn’t have success in a response until my travel advisor got involved.

So be ready to make a reservation when the concierge calls you  before your stay.

Only able to "leave and message" and someone would call me back.

Our refrigerator was broken for 3 days after calling about it 2X.

Throughout our 7 day stay, we repeatedly got a busy signal when calling the valet for our car.

At Palmetto Bluffs our room wasn’t ready, so they asked for a phone number to text us when it was ready.

There was ice in the room upon arrival and the bellman said it would be refilled every afternoon or we could call for more ice if needed.

When choosing a place for a vacation, nothing in Bluffton is calling my name.

And then we started calling to ask about them, and were met with haughty response of, "Do you not have reservations? That is booked up."

After my bad review I received a phone call from the then very new General Manager of the Montage, Will Jones.

Be careful booking the montage 20 rate- they will try hard not to honor it.

Only on second day, after asking, does one learn that housekeeping only comes to clean at cottage once a week (though you can pay more to have maid service more often).

Never in 4 years did we have to pay to get through the front gate.

Not sure that is even legal and seems like tax fraud in the state of SC.

You have to realize the Montage does not want people like you that pay $1200 a night for a cottage.

For the insanely high price, all in all not so good.

Yes, at $1,200 a night (for the least expensive room) you are going to expect a lot,

Let’s get it out of the way first - it is expensive and all the activities and food are expensive.

It was incredibly expensive, even the kids menu,

Wine list was also good, and surprisingly not too overpriced.

Its  one of these luxury resorts where everything is overly pricey.

Sea Island, Old Edwards, BlackBerry Farm and other resorts are 1/2 the price and offer far more.

But everything else from service, activities, amenities and most importantly value relative to price paid is severely lacking.

Due to the seclusion and high prices, we probably would not stay here again.

If someone is paying the high rates to stay here, how is that right that everything is booked so far in advance?

The restaurants are over priced, and underserved.

The golf was in my husbands opinion not worth that price

My only complaint - there are a crazy number of add-on taxes & hotel fees when you check-out so beware!

I was expecting more for the rates being charged.

At the conference, the banquet food was delicious.

Our dinners at Octagon and The River House were outstanding.

The cottages to the cuisine is top notch!

The food was spectacular and they even brought in a master sushi chef!

Dinner at River House was excellent, and we loved Hush.

The restaurants are great, particularly River House.

Dinner at River House our second evening was amazing also and beautifully plated.

Everything was exceptional, from the service to the food to the chocolate chip cookies and s’mores!

but the food in the bar rest was exceptional.

Room service, breakfast/lunch/ dinner at Octagon, dinner at River House.

The arrival and welcome experience is fantastic (thank you Josh), rooms were great, amenities and restaurant superb.

There was enough food for four in our picnic baskets for two.

Thanks to all that made our trip special - 
Dawnet , Henrick, Roxroy, Omar, Susan , Joe and Lisa for the best service and cocktails for our meals each day.

Breakfast was brought to our hotel room every morning and we had a great brunch on Christmas!!!

The restaurant options in the Palmetto Bluff area and at the hotel were terrific.

Lastly, the restaurants here were beautiful

but the esthetician I had could easily be a used-car salesman with her hard selling for additional services.

The location, grounds, service are all beyond excellent.

but the service isn’t up to par (pun intended).

The service is consistent, with a staff that is attentive to our every need to ensure our satisfaction.

Dinner was delicious at Octagon with suggestions and excellent service from Arielle.

We experienced impeccable service from the moment we checked in.

And again, the service was over-the-top amazing.

My gratitude to Catherine at the SPA for being gracious and helping my wife & I with appointments and services.

The bed was so comfortable and housekeeping is amazing-including the turndown service.

I just want to say that I recently stayed at the Montage Palmetto Bluff and it was absolutely the best service I’ve ever experienced!

The service at Montage Palmetto Bluff is 6 stars PLUS!!!

Riverhouse was BEAUTIFUL and the service was very good,

Upon arriving to the Inn, you are met with perfect accomodations and amazing customer service.

but spoke with Damien the manager and he did an excellent job at service redemption.

They are friendly and provided great service.

Shouldn’t offer a service if staff is not trained to do it the best!

3 rd time there 1st time since its been a montage ,The good :  great place actually favorite resort in america , beautiful , peaceful , stayed in a cottage steam shower , on the river great room.

We visited the spa and were told it was undergoing a 2-day full renovation, which was very exciting.

The concierge staff is part time and  cannot manage bookings for large family group such as the 14 in our family.Beet to make all dining ,sports and spa reservations on your own.

The spa, massage and amenities were great too.

I’ve had other stone massages, several at other luxury resorts in California, Arizona and Hawaii, as well as locally.

We enjoyed the spa for a birthday treat and Marina gave me the best facial I’ve ever had .

I had a much needed relaxing spa treatment, every meal we had from breakfast to dinner was delicious, and our suite was so peaceful and absolutely stunning.

Catherine and Amber at the Spa pampered our girls for a manicure/pedicure whilst doing so much outdoors.

All the facilities including the pools and spas were gorgeous.

Rooms are well designed and well appointed from the fireplace, soaking tub and steam shower.

I experienced a 90 minute classic massage and facial and thought the therapists were fantastic!

Alexa in the spa was very warm and welcoming, she even got my favorite drink for me.

Room is spot on, screened in terrace, big room, perfect bed, STEAM shower that is big enough for 2 people to dance in 

I am planning my dad’s 70th there next year and will plan a yearly trip thereafter 

MUST SEE

Only redeeming quality was staff member Shayne .

We LOVED how quiet the property is and how nice most of the staff were.

And should anything come up on your trip, you can expect the whole staff to know how to handle it perfectly.

Everyone was so friendly, kind and helpful.

We even had the hotel arrange for us to tour the surrounding islands by boat and our captain was an ecologist and an expert of Palmetto Bluff, Port Royal Sound and Hilton Head Island - really fantastic!

Additionally, a good portion of the staff needed to be trained, retrained, and/or mentored.

Our first visit in 2021 was great- the staff was accommodating and hospitable.

And if you call for any assistance outside business hours, get a recording that front desk only open from 9-6pm (I bet Four Seasons and Rosewoods fully staffs their front desks).

But -  hats off to the S'mores and front desk staff - they were sweet!

The staff was incredible - shout out to Scott.

Some bright spots… The guys at the bike rental station were nice.

Our experience began with a very warm welcome from Dino who greeted us like family (maybe even better).

The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need for the best stay.

AC noise in suite sounded like a jet engine.

A/C system was difficult to maintain noise levels.

Our cooling system was awful, it was a super loud fan that came on and off all night long for like 5 minute spurts.

4) our room had a moldy smell - no exhaust fans in the bathrooms.

At night, the air conditioning would make a loud clank every time it would cycle on, keeping us awake most of the night.

A/C vent in ceiling did have water dripping from the vent.

There was also one room that had no AC the first night.

After returning from dinner in the replacement room we turned the AC on because it was a little warm and the mildew smell permeated through that room as well.

However, room a/c and shower water temperature left some to be desired.

No sleep because of the loud air conditioner, no working bathroom in my room so had to go to the hotel lobby for bathroom from 3rd floor.

The only issue I had with the bathroom was the lack of exhaust fan to prevent mirrors from steaming up.

but the only issue was there was no air extractor in the bathroom so if you take a shower it gets all foggy unless you leave the bathroom open.

The bedroom was quite, until the AC went into standby mode then it is very noisy, especially hearing the water leaking.

However, I am not a fan of the new heavy comforters currently used in many hotels, same case here.

Ventilation fans should be installed in all bathrooms.

The air conditioner was so loud it kept me up most of the night.

The AC did not seem to be working as well.

Clean public restrooms and our en  suite was clean and roomy.

A well kept and clean property with an exceptional staff!

The rooms were clean and beds were comfy too.

We were trying to find a clean place to stay near Hilton head island the day after hurricane Ian.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless.

Nice hotel, clean & good service however where everywhere I’ve ever stayed has free breakfast

but it is clean and a convenient location.

but very clean, and all the staff were welcoming and helpful.

I found the room to be very clean and the staff friendly and accommodating.

I found the living area with the desk also clean and fairly new.

A great choose for family and friends to gather for drinks or lunch.

The beds were comfortable and a lot of room for a family of 6 to spread out.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Hilton Head for our family’s weekend vacation.

Hotel doesn’t have much amenities for a family stay.

We had an family emergency in Hilton Head.

Lots of restaurants to choose from family ones to ones that accomodate a nice night out for parents.

We took a few days for a quick family getaway.

Will return and would recommend this hotel to family and friends. xxxx

Me and my family enjoyed every minute there.

Definitely will be staying again in the future with family.

but I will say that we booked five rooms for our family for my Granddaughter's wedding.

We choose this HGI when we visit family in Hilton Head because it is affordable and conveniently located.

This hotel had the two queen beds and the sofa bed room size that our family needs.

He thanked me for coming and gave me cold water for my family!

I will definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends!

Just came back from a week in Bluffton, SC visiting family.

The night before arriving here we stayed at a sister Hilton property in Wrightsville Beach, NC, and were greeted by a friendly staff, up-to-date room, a free, unsolicited room upgrade and all amenities.

Valerie in the restaurant was so friendly and helpful.

I would give the hotel 4 stars; HOWEVER, the staff was AMAZING and super friendly!!!

Everyone has been friendly, service oriented, professional and welcoming.

- front desk staff guy at check in was not overly friendly, and grudgingly said thanks for being Diamond member.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to housekeeping and maintenance.
