Call for a reservation there were no vacancy signs everywhere.

There are no in-room phones (my wife called to tell me something; the person on duty had to come to my room and offered to let me us the office phone) and there is no closet to hang clothing (there is a short bar in a corner that had 3 hangers).

but a little sparse (especially for those of us who think an egg or some meat is fairly important to calling it a breakfast!)

No amenities like telephone or wi-fi --  which is perhaps a good thing when getting ready for camping.

Not great no air conditioning small shower no bathtub stay only if you have no choice will definitely make reservations ahead of time to stay somewhere else  no phone or clocks in the room sleeping in the car would have been better

The process from calling and having our wish fulfilled: a kitchen in the room went fine and it was obvious that the manager had gone through some recalculating in order to please us.

If you want coffee makers, phone or in room hairdryer plus top of the range A/C - look elsewhere.

Perhaps more importantly (for us), the Hooks seem to be connected to everyone in town and know whom to call for every kind of need: supplies, shuttle drivers, car repairs, etc.

Here's what they don't have: no phone, no clock radio, no a/c, no shampoo or blow dryers.

The staff was more than helpful, and allowed me to call my husband from their phone when my cell phone provider did not work in this area.

To make a phone call, borrow the phone in the office.

There is no phone in the room, and two out of four lamps in the room did not work.

And best of all the owners are willing to share their huge experience with everything in the area.

In particular, we got a flat tire and Jim, the owner helped us refill it (at least enough to get to the next town where there was a service station) and was really helpful during the whole ordeal.

The man at the front desk was super welcoming and sweet as well.

The owner went out of his way to help us with transport logistics.

The owner has been there a long time and knows TONS about the area.

It feels like home: comfortable and welcoming.

yet very poised and experienced staff who will try to meet your every need.

It was also kind of like the Poconos with its wood paneling and wooden screen doors. At the same time, everything is so clean, not "old."

We had the impression that the people running the Lodge were just going through the motions (although the young woman at the reception was very kind).

It’s a homely place with lovely staff and we had a decent room.

Vintage motel in that the linoleum floor creaks, carpet is plush the light fixtures are original and the towels are thin.

Really though, do something about the towels.

but had thin towels, no clock, mattress was OK but blanket was thin same with bedspread.

but I would suggest the lodge invest in some new towels.

I note that recent changes to towels and breakfast charges have been implemented so please, please Mr and Mrs Hooke, show some respect for your guests and spend some money (you must have plenty judging by how full you are) on replacing essential items

My only criticism (as a previous reviewer's) would be regarding the towels - too small and thin.

The towels were also hard and very scratchy.

The only negative was the towels which were somewhat small and threadbare.

The towels in the bathroom were worn and thin.

If you like thick towels, bring your own.

I don't think there was an elevator in the building we were in, and since there is no carpet in the room, we could hear the people walking around in the room above us quite loudly.

We would have hoped to be on the ground floor, as requested due to age and physical issues since they do not have elevators.

They do not have elevators so you must request a ground floor room if that is an issue.

Be aware that there are no elevators so you will have to hump your bags up the stairs or pay for concierge service.

The lack of an elevator was not an issue.

but there were no escalators in the facility, so remember to ask for rooms on the ground floor, should you have mobility issues.

However, at check in, we found that we had a second-floor room and were shocked to find that there was no elevator.

My only suggestion would be to get a second floor room (no elevators) if you can.

We were given the option of a ground floor room with a patio and no stairs (there is no elevator).

There are no elevators, so keep that in mind if you have a 2nd or 3 rd floor room.

If you are carrying heavy bags, ask for a room on the ground floor: There are no elevators.

Let’s start with the obvious: the room was clean, the staff was friendly, there was a pool and food on site.

but there were so many baby spiders we were unable to use the kitchen table during our stay.

A few times we ate outside at the Cedar Shack, other times we walked our food back to our room and ate at the table and chairs on our balcony.

He told me they specifically designed it so you can pull the table into the room or eat on your patio.

Also, the outside table is situated right next to the A/C that was giving off even hotter air so we had to move it to eat.

We had to carry in the balcony table and chairs to do this.

Besides getting a top floor (reminder: no elevator) try to get a room on the left side (as you face you inn from the parking lot).

but if I must: the parking area does not reflect the standards of the place.

Jennifer was most helpful in making our reservation and describing how to locate her facility in Bluff, Utah, and after we arrived Alley dealt most patiently with helping us understand unique features of our cabin - he came to help us two or three times.

The breakfast attendant directed us to a table littered with food debris.

It smelled fresh, beautifully decorated, and very accommodating.

My husband needed to find a medical clinic, and we were assisted cheerfully with finding one.

Jennifer and her staff are amazing, and if she ever writes a cookbook, Breakfast at the Posada Pinata, I will be first in line for my copy!

Or maybe it was just talking with Jennifer & her staff who were ready to not only help,

Best of all was the breakfast, served by a cheerful lady in a cute breakfast room.

but even through my rudeness she was kind enough to feed us.

She is also very knowledgable about the area and fun to chat with.

We had read reviews of this roadside property before coming that had noted that its rooms were small.

Room was small and hall noises were loud.

but the rooms are rather small and a bit dark.

- Attempts by the on-site personnel to contact the manager went unanswered.

That said, it was workable as a base camp (we weren't going to spend much time in the room anyway) and the staff were pleasant and helpful,

However, the front office staff was welcoming and conscientious and willing to patiently answer a myriad of questions that I had.

The staff stared at us for the entire time we were in there and made us feel extremely uncomfortable!
