Beautiful place, extremely clean with all the amenities you could ask for.

The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are spotless, the view from our private patios was great, the pool is lovely -- really a great place within an hours drive of Monument Valley.

They have a large indoor pool with view to the rim - very colourful on sunset.

This hotel boasts the feel of a small hotel in the wilderness with all the modern amenities of a restaurant, indoor pool, fitness room with weights, and amazing views.

There is an indoor pool and hot tub on the property.

They also have washers and dryers plus a very nice restaurant for both indoor and outdoor seating.

There is a lovely central library/reading room/lounge, a beautiful indoor pool with picture windows overlooking the nearby mesa, and an attractive outdoor lounge area.

Thankfully the Twin Rocks Cafe was open at the other end of town, the only place open for food, and it was amazing, they saved the day.

Also, if you are looking for a great breakfast, the Twin Rocks cafe had the best breakfast on our trip, and it's just down the street.

We had a nice terrace that looked out into the rock formations.

This is a great place to stay in Bluff to base your touring of Utah and Arizona - particularly Monument Valley and Valley of the Gods etc in fact there are many things to see within a good distance of this place with good eating at the nearby Twin Rocks café and the Cottonwood steakhouse (see separate reviews) - Nice rooms with patio and chairs available.

We ate dinner at Twin Rocks Cafe -- nice folks there and the food was good.

but we were directed to the Twin Rocks Inn, down the road and that was a very good recommendation.

Then the next day we visited the little town and the Hole in the Rock Expedition visitor attraction there which gave good insight into the life of the settlers in the Western US.

We were fortunate that our room was at the very back of the property with a patio and great views over the red rocks.

All rooms have a great view of the rock formations right across the road.

Breakfast at the Twin Rocks Cafe was also excellent and worth every penny.

The indoor pool/spa is impressive - glass windows with gorgeous views of  the surrounding red rocks.

As soon as you get into town we grabbed a bite to eat at the Twin Rocks Cafe, highly recommend.

The Desert Rose Inn was an ideal choice- a large very tasteful room with two  comfortable Queen beds, a large and well appointed bathroom and a view of the3 red rocks.

If i had known would have had more time here than in denver, the foyer to the pool is well impressive, the staff brilliant, they said they would be opening a resteraunt soon, so cannot comment we went down to two rocks loved the fry bread, desert rose great finishing touchs to rooms.

I was ready to give this hotel 5 stars because of paying extra for beautiful rooms in the new building, the large saltwater swimming pool and great dining experience at Duke’s, until the morning.

I recommend requesting a second floor room based upon easily hearing feet walking above.

The room was in the back and we had access to the pool area and views around of some cool landscapes.

One of our two rooms had a nice enclosed balcony looking out to the desert.

We had a room with queen beds, which were very comfortable.

The public part of this facility seemed ok, nice pool, plenty of rooms, etc.

We had a courtyard king room in the separate building, and it was so quiet!

Quaint little inn with spacious rooms and baths nicely updated.

Our spacious beautifully decorated room, reminded me more of an English country house, and was quite a contrast from the log building exterior.

but the main lodge has lots of rooms that look very nice.

If you can’t get a room at the View this is a great second choice.

Staff were nice and the price was reasonable.

The staff was lovely and very helpful they recommended a good place to eat nearby as well as a grocery store.

We had a nice complimentary breakfast the next morning too!

We loved how cozy and clean Recapture Lodge is, a real gem in Bluff, and an added bonus of super friendly staff and a comfortable setting for breakfast (included in the rate.)

This was continental with bagels, cream cheese, etc and decent coffee.

The building has a rustic look (lots of wood), and clearly caters to customers who enjoy outdoor activities--the main office has a well-stocked selection of maps and guide books for use by guests. A modest buffet breakfast (breads, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, orange juice,.  )

the pool was delightful after a day of hiking!the breakfast kept us going-altho not a hot breakfast, they have hardboiled eggs, cereal, breads, spreads.

Breakfast was included in the room rate and had more than enough to fuel one's day.

A great continental breakfast is served in a large airy room next to reception where you can find every bit of information imaginable about this corner of Utah.

The owners provide maps and books in the commons/breakfast room and often provide free programs by expert naturalists.

Reception gave us a warm welcome with info about places to eat in town.

Tons of maps and guides and info about the area available dining room.

They provided guidance to find petroglyphs and other sites.

They also host a huge collection of area maps and books for hiking and camping.

It had all sorts of local maps, books, pictures, etc--some on display and some within easy reach on bookshelves.

The staff was fun with a great sense of humor and helped with lots of info to make sure we enjoyed our stay in Bluff - with a pool and pet friendly!

There is also a common room next to the lobby where the breakfast is that has a lot of books, maps, etc and travel ideas relating to the area of southeast Utah.

You absolutely can't imagine the rich, wonderful conversations looking over the amazing map collection and sharing intel about slot canyons, hidden archeological sites, and some little-known wonders of the Southwest.

The owners have extensive local knowledge of what to do in the immediate area, including a large set of 3-ring finders with information.

A treasure trove of maps, information and stories about the locality makes this stop better than any tourist info for adventurers.

I especially loved the front desk woman who was wonderfully chatty and friendly and shared all sorts of local info.

A piano or two there as well along with loads of maps and books about the area.

It was super-clean. But best of all the owners, Jim and Luanne, are authentically caring human beings who go out of their way to give you great information (including drawing a map to get to Mesa Verde) and make you feel "at home."

But the absolute best is the "living room" off the reception office (where breakfast happens), open 24/7 with shelf after shelf of binders of local information, every conceivable map, musical instruments, and an eclectic selection of books and multimedia.

Without cell service or any inside knowledge, we would have been lost and in some degree of danger.

And my cell phone (and those of my friends) did not work at the hotel,

but everyone uses their cell phone these days, don't they?

(no one had suggested otherwise) and "Should I just call the police?"

Call for a reservation there were no vacancy signs everywhere.

There are no in-room phones (my wife called to tell me something; the person on duty had to come to my room and offered to let me us the office phone) and there is no closet to hang clothing (there is a short bar in a corner that had 3 hangers).

If "no phone" is an issue, you need color (or any other) coordination of decor, or you expect every amenity to work perfectly every time without any eccentricities, you'll have a better stay elsewhere.

Not great no air conditioning small shower no bathtub stay only if you have no choice will definitely make reservations ahead of time to stay somewhere else  no phone or clocks in the room sleeping in the car would have been better

Here's what they don't have: no phone, no clock radio, no a/c, no shampoo or blow dryers.

To make a phone call, borrow the phone in the office.

There is no phone in the room, and two out of four lamps in the room did not work.

but there is a radiant cooling system in place that kept the room very comfortable.
