The rooms were great, fabulous showers, beds super comfortable, lots of pillows, balcony views were beautiful.

Our room was clean with comfortable beds, excellent shower and hand crafted bars of soap.

The room was large with a tiled shower and mosaic sink.

The room and bathroom had nice upscale amenities and lovely southwest decoration.

The shower itself was worth the trip - travertine with multiple shower heads - just the ticket after a day of hiking in the desert.

From making the reservation to our last delicious breakfast our visit was perfect.

We had hummingbirds all around us getting their breakfast at the hummingbird feeders within touching distance.

We missed the breakfast because we needed to leave before that time.

The next morning Jule fixed us a lovely and delicious breakfast, with eggs fixed in a way we'd never seen before!

The breakfast attendant directed us to a table littered with food debris.

When we pulled into the parking lot, we were a bit skeptical.

I agree with a previous reviewer on the gravel parking - a bit tough for a motorcycle

I am not saying you can not park a motorcycle

And only about 10 rooms, so parking is just outside your doors.

Besides getting a top floor (reminder: no elevator) try to get a room on the left side (as you face you inn from the parking lot).

but if I must: the parking area does not reflect the standards of the place.

Beautiful rooms with outdoor patios front and back.

The room has a back patio that overlooks a stone ridge, and has a bistro table and two chairs.

We also enjoy eating the great breakfasts sitting on the Posada patio looking out at the beautiful rock formations and enjoying watching the hummingbirds coming to the feeders.

Nice little patio with chairs to sit and watch the sun set and the stars rise.

but I spent my entire evening on the back patio.

Every guest room has a patio that looks out over the beautiful red rock formations that are common in this part of southern Utah.

The sunset at night on our back patio had beautiful views.

There were French doors w/screen and patio with furniture and a great mountainous view out this way.

The room was spacious, with two queen beds, a couch, patio, bathroom.

There are so many special touches to this small motel, from the beautiful flowers growing out front, the patio tables outside each room, the hummingbird feeders, the delicious and fresh breakfast buffet , to the extremely comfortable rooms.

The back patio to our room offered a view of some red rocks.

Our very comfortable room was on the west end of the building on the second floor with a delightful patio, front and back, and great views of the surrounding cliffs.

This is a boutique hotel nestled against a large rock formation with a wonderful view.

The high red rocks dominated the nearby skyline.

The Posada is close to Bears Ears, the San Juan River if you’re into running the river, petroglyphs, ruins, incredible rock formations, and scenic overlooks.

There were beautiful rock formations behind the inn, which were visible from its not-very-private balconies and decks.

Easy walking distance to Twin Rocks for dinner.

It was very special, with a large room with balcony overlooking the rocks, lovely bathroom (delicious smelling soap) and a tasty breakfast outside.

We enjoyed our stay at La Posada Pintada for the beautiful views of the nearby pink bluffs and rock formations.

We also had a fantastic dinner at Twin Rocks Cafe down the street, and breakfast at the hotel the next morning felt more like we were at a B&B -- it was homemade, and you could enjoy it outside while hummingbirds flitted around you at the feeders and potted plants.

We stayed here recently, and I think the location is good, and within walking distance of a good restaurant called Twin Rocks.

Beds were fine, room was clean and the patio view looks out at rock face.

Its right next to the famous Twin Rock cafe and is very quiet like contry living in France or Mexico .

We had a gorgeous room on the ground floor with a spectacular red rock formations just outside our patio.

We were on the second floor and enjoyed the sun setting over the rock landscape in the back and enjoyed star-gazing in the vast, clear sky!

We had a room on the second floor with a semi-private back patio with views of the local rock formations and a sunset that I will not forget.

highly recommended and the Twin Rocks Cafe being just a short walk away is an added bonus.

The room was cozy and the area had lots of places to sit, relax, visit and breathe in the aromatic desert air.

Jennifer was most helpful in making our reservation and describing how to locate her facility in Bluff, Utah, and after we arrived Alley dealt most patiently with helping us understand unique features of our cabin - he came to help us two or three times.

It smelled fresh, beautifully decorated, and very accommodating.

My husband needed to find a medical clinic, and we were assisted cheerfully with finding one.

Jennifer and her staff are amazing, and if she ever writes a cookbook, Breakfast at the Posada Pinata, I will be first in line for my copy!

Best of all was the breakfast, served by a cheerful lady in a cute breakfast room.

but even through my rudeness she was kind enough to feed us.

She is also very knowledgable about the area and fun to chat with.

Upon our arrival we were greeted warmly by the owner, Jennifer, and our room did not disappoint.

My wife and I have traveled all over the country in our fifty years together and never have we stayed at a more comfortable, serene, and genuinely friendly and relaxing place.

The outside area was lovely – it’s a B&B for horses so we fed them a couple of times.

This is a serene oasis in a wonderful area of Ancient Ruins and Petroglyphs.

A great base for exploring the Monument Valley area & romantic potential too.

Great location to explore this area, staff very knowledgeable and helpful with finding trails, ruins, petroglyphs, and scenic areas.

Tons of maps and guides and info about the area available dining room.

Play area and fire pit, summertime pool, corrals for horses - fun to feed them apples with owners’ (traveling from Colorado to Arizona) permission.

They’re friendly, knowledgeable about the area, suggest places to visit and genuinely take an interest in you.

Great hotel - will definitely stay again if we're lucky to be in this area again in the future.

They also host a huge collection of area maps and books for hiking and camping.

We'll stay here again when we pass thru this area of Utah.

They have a large area for you to build campfires and sit around and talk with other guests.

but the owners are so nice and accommodating and full of knowledge about the area.

We love hiking and exploring in the region--the Canyons of Cedar Mesa such as Grand Gulch, as well as Comb Ridge, Butler Wash, etc.--areas rich in natural beauty and architectural wonders.

We loved how cozy and clean Recapture Lodge is, a real gem in Bluff, and an added bonus of super friendly staff and a comfortable setting for breakfast (included in the rate.)

This was continental with bagels, cream cheese, etc and decent coffee.

The building has a rustic look (lots of wood), and clearly caters to customers who enjoy outdoor activities--the main office has a well-stocked selection of maps and guide books for use by guests. A modest buffet breakfast (breads, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, orange juice,.  )

the pool was delightful after a day of hiking!the breakfast kept us going-altho not a hot breakfast, they have hardboiled eggs, cereal, breads, spreads.

Breakfast was included in the room rate and had more than enough to fuel one's day.

A great continental breakfast is served in a large airy room next to reception where you can find every bit of information imaginable about this corner of Utah.

but nice breakfast and ice to my tumblers before checking out.

Breakfast included, pool with hot tub, fridge and microwave and situated in a lovely little spot called Bluff, UT.

but simple breakfast, great coffee, lots of young and European visitors made for wonderful conversation.

The breakfast selection would put some chains to shame, and it’s a great location for visiting Monument Valley or Hovenweep.

It's humble and quaint, clean, safe and friendly.

Our room was cozy, clean and we had windows in the front and back of the room and one in the bathroom.

but clean and well cared for with friendly knowledgeable staff who will gladly help you plan your day.

The motel room was clean, comfortable and had all necessary facilities and we had no issues apart from a little noise from neighbours which is outside the control of the hotel.

but clean, no toiletries, plenty of hot water.

The rooms are spotless, and comfortable, and set back from the road so are very quiet.

There is a trail down to the river, a pool and hot tub which we didn't not have time to enjoy, and a common room (where breakfast is served) filled with topo maps, books, and binders about the area.

A fair price with a clean room with a pool/hot tub and beautiful scenery and owners who just let you relax and enjoy your day.

The pool and hot tub are really welcome and clean - much bigger than some on the larger hotels in the area.

The owners provide maps and books in the commons/breakfast room and often provide free programs by expert naturalists.

Reception gave us a warm welcome with info about places to eat in town.

They provided guidance to find petroglyphs and other sites.

It had all sorts of local maps, books, pictures, etc--some on display and some within easy reach on bookshelves.

The staff was fun with a great sense of humor and helped with lots of info to make sure we enjoyed our stay in Bluff - with a pool and pet friendly!

There is also a common room next to the lobby where the breakfast is that has a lot of books, maps, etc and travel ideas relating to the area of southeast Utah.

You absolutely can't imagine the rich, wonderful conversations looking over the amazing map collection and sharing intel about slot canyons, hidden archeological sites, and some little-known wonders of the Southwest.

The owners have extensive local knowledge of what to do in the immediate area, including a large set of 3-ring finders with information.

A treasure trove of maps, information and stories about the locality makes this stop better than any tourist info for adventurers.

I especially loved the front desk woman who was wonderfully chatty and friendly and shared all sorts of local info.

A piano or two there as well along with loads of maps and books about the area.

It was super-clean. But best of all the owners, Jim and Luanne, are authentically caring human beings who go out of their way to give you great information (including drawing a map to get to Mesa Verde) and make you feel "at home."

But the absolute best is the "living room" off the reception office (where breakfast happens), open 24/7 with shelf after shelf of binders of local information, every conceivable map, musical instruments, and an eclectic selection of books and multimedia.

Without cell service or any inside knowledge, we would have been lost and in some degree of danger.

And my cell phone (and those of my friends) did not work at the hotel,

Because of its loyal clientele and reputation among outdoors enthusiasts, Recapture books up, so make sure to call ahead.

but everyone uses their cell phone these days, don't they?

(no one had suggested otherwise) and "Should I just call the police?"

Call for a reservation there were no vacancy signs everywhere.

There are no in-room phones (my wife called to tell me something; the person on duty had to come to my room and offered to let me us the office phone) and there is no closet to hang clothing (there is a short bar in a corner that had 3 hangers).

If "no phone" is an issue, you need color (or any other) coordination of decor, or you expect every amenity to work perfectly every time without any eccentricities, you'll have a better stay elsewhere.

Not great no air conditioning small shower no bathtub stay only if you have no choice will definitely make reservations ahead of time to stay somewhere else  no phone or clocks in the room sleeping in the car would have been better

Here's what they don't have: no phone, no clock radio, no a/c, no shampoo or blow dryers.

To make a phone call, borrow the phone in the office.

There is no phone in the room, and two out of four lamps in the room did not work.

but there is a radiant cooling system in place that kept the room very comfortable.

It’s a homely place with lovely staff and we had a decent room.

Our room was upstairs and altho they were booked solid, it was very quiet.

Room was spacious and comfortable, water pressure pretty good.
