From the detail of the Malhuis emblem welcoming us at reception to the wonderful atmosphere in the pub and a lekker braai on the roof with a banquet room every detail exeeded expectations.

The pub on 2nd floor had a relaxed ambience, often used for small gathering/parties, I had many cappucinos here, and the pubmeals were delish and fresh- and pricing was reasonable indeed.

Building being from the older era offers of course mostly spacious rooms. .

The welcoming ambiance, well kept clean reception topped up with very helpful staff gives one that welcome home away from home.

Our rooms were beautifully clean, airy and spacious with all the amenities one could ask for (including two prong plug points and proper hair dryer).

The food is excellent & the vibe in the pub tops!

The previous visit was with my university res reunion and everyone was impressed.As a trendy inner city function venue it is the place in Bloemfontein.

The room was nicely furnished and decorated and was clean.

Bearing in mind the building is an old one it gives one the sense of old word charm with all modern facilities available.

The evening meal was absolutely exquisite, the breakfast superb!

The reception area is large and well-decorated.

This branch must be closed and totally redone.

This hotel has a 70s charm, it does NOT have any of the usual amenities such as a pool.

I had free wifi along with a desk and chair to work at.

The bar fridge contained bottled water  which was replaced every day - for free.

drive from the airport, to my surprice the hotel offers free pick up/drop off.

Free shuttle service to airport and venue.

We had the 1kg spare ribs plus a free cider for R89.99.The ribs were tender and tasty with a really nice marinade.

The Bon Hotel Bloemfontein surprised me, It has a very strong marketing strategies and great custom care system, in terms of all the bonuses and voucher.

Bon Hotel Bloemfontein Central is a great place to stay in the Free State capital.

but once that was sorted out we had a trouble free registration at reception.

I will strongly recommend this hotel if you visit Free State in SA.

Undercover parking at Sanlam plaza was free for hotel's guests.

The hotel has free wifi which is convenient for travellers.

The free shuttle service around town and to the airport had me quite chuffed.

I also received free wifi internet which was nice

As corridors are wide and uncarpeted, people can be rather noisy when shouting in the corridors and slamming doors.

When you are in your rooms and other guest are talking in the corridors you will hear those noises.

I should have stayed at a guest house rather, This place was very dodgy, looks terrible, noise levels unacceptable from guest and loud staff members shouting in corridors, I have seen better backpackers

Guests who arrived late made noise in the corridors and we heard in the room as if they were in the room.

though asked the night before), noisy rooms (could hear everything from the corridor and rooms next door) and just old dilapidated building.

She was rude and would not listen to me and treated me like some homeless person off the streets.

Starting with the scary location - this was actually the last on the list.

Overall, there are better places to stay - perhaps one of the boutique hotels outside the city centre, which staff in reception suggested was too dangerous to venture out after dark.

The basement parking is dirty and very dodgy looking.

This Hotel is situated in a dangerous part of the City and especially ladies can not leave the safety of the Hotel to smoke outside.

It is in a truly dangerous area, so much so that security didn't allow me to go outside after hours.

Its in a pretty shady part of town, for the rooms think 1950's, the bathroom was tiny, the whole hotel was shabby with carpet coming up and missing tiles.

The poor waiter gave use a plate of chicken wings and chips

however this and the fact that our room phone was ringing at 3am with no one on the receiving end, made for a very uncomfortable sleep and poor review.

The breakfast is very poor and the buffet bacon and sausages was cold every morning.

Absolutely dated décor, poor aesthetics, lif needs an overhaul; shoddy bathroom, fittings needs refurbishment; aircon is noisy and inefficient.

The rooms are equipted with everything you need for your duration of stay.

The room was clean, warm and comfortable.

The impressive old furniture well maintained to the clean room and great amenities.

I have been using this hotel for at least 7 years on my travels, the staff are welcoming, the rooms are clean, To sum it up, it really is a home from home.

Myself and some other slept in the hotel for the night and the room was a delight with both normal and decaffinated coffee provided.

I didn't really think that a clean room like that would have a cricket.

From the moment we walked in we were impressed, from the friendly staff to the clean rooms.

We watched the Rugby in the Judges Bar and then had a braai on the roof with the use of a conference room.They had real good specials on the rooms for the old students who stayed in the Hotel.

Very comfortable, clean room with everything you would need.

The room was very neat, the food was mouth watering and it was convinient for me to attend meeting as the place was very close to my meeting venue..

The room was huge and had all the amenities needed.

My standard room was on the 5th floor and off good size.

The food is great and the rooms so clean and feels like home.

Clearly there was no soundproofing and I could not sleep the whole night as the kids would knock on my door by mistake.

Couldn’t sleep till 2 the Sunday morning other guests on the floor was very noisy 
The room was welcoming at first bathroom clean 
My 10 year old daughter was looking for her shoes and she noticed the dust under the beds.

To top it off the beds wow made me sleep like an angel.

I was disturbed in my sleep during the day by construction taking place in next door room and that was not appropriate.

My child even woke up and he is a deep sleeper.

As I said the beds are very old as one of the legs of the bed in my room broke while I was sleeping and i called the reception they sent a security to fix it

next room had some noice so I couldn't sleep for nearly the whole night.

Aircon did not work effectively making fo a very warm night and poor sleep.

My bathroom was with shower, not much hot water, toiletries provided.

One would trust that locals would understand South Africa's load shed and at times water shortage which unfortunately affects all accommodation facilities some or other time even more than once.

The shower doesn't have a luke warm water.

Broken remote control, shower head old (from the 50s or something) with little water coming out.

The taps in the bathrooms were not working properly, we could not control the hot/cold water.

The water was brown and the dinner was too bad, I had to start buying my own dinner.I would not recommend it to anyone.

1stly the showers were horrible hardly had any water coming out and if there was it was either ice cold or fiery hot (no in between).

even though we were told that it would be soughted, there was no water.

The toilet made a lot of noise when it was flushed and it wasted water.

No shower curtain meant water everywhere after a shower.

The bathroom is also showing its age and the shower's water pressure was very weak, sputtering water all over the floor.

The front is quite ugly with basically a concrete car park

I confronted the staff about this and it took 10min for them to have the cars removed.

I hereby suggest that the hotel should have a covered packing in case of hail storms as well as the heavy sun heating the cars.

Only negative was that our bicycles were stolen from the car park.

Security in the car park needs to be improved.

The only thing needed is shelter for the cars and cause imagine when its raining to go to your car or to the hotel its a nightmare.

Again no offer of assistance or porter we went to the car to get more of our stuff only to come back and find she got it wrong again.

This becomes a problem if one has to stay for a long time there with a car being exposed to sun and possebility of harsh weather conditions.

We were freezing and Bloemfontein is naturally cold.

The room that I was changed to the air conditioner was not working properly, it was blowing cold air even when on heater and it was very cold.

The service at this hotel needs jacking up, 55 minutes for cold toasted sandwiches to be delivered, with the bacon as hard as biltong.

Most of the rooms air conditioners need to be re-gassed as most are blowing cold air and are very noisy, All the toilet rims are dirty inside, seems as if they are never cleaned.

The ice could not keep the milk cold enough.

However, it was cold in Bloemfontein in winter (-3 degrees) and the room had no heating.

a very pleasant and adventurous experience that provides a comprehensive end to end service.the pool was easily accessible and a  state of the art facility.

The Hotel has a floor rug which is not properly cleaned whilst other hotels have moved to wooden flooring which is healthy and suitable for most people.

Very user friendly facilities, central location, easy to find and availability of most needful amenities.The vicinity of the shopping mall and other critical surroundings, like doctors, churches and entertainment.

The hygienic environment of the facilities was impressive and inviting for a come again for either business or family visit.

I have visited the Bloemfontein Tsogo sun hotel the receptionist was very welcoming and Lovely the hotel is very clean and their food was wonderful with a great taste I would to congratulate them for their clean environment

Old world charm with a nice large room, very clean and comfortable, opening out onto a terrace and the swimming pool.

Generally, the hotel has a welcoming environment and the staff know what is expected of them.

Due to the hotel layout - around a large landscaped courtyard - some rooms on the upper level requires a lot of walking to get to reception and the pool.Although the hotel has basic and dated finishes, the rooms are well laid out and comfortable.

We will blame the festive season just to console ourselves.

It is pleasing when you are greeted with a smile whenever and wherever you approach any reception desk.

The pool and gardens are very well kept, creating a peaceful environment.

The wi-fi is very reliable, the rooms neat, the staff passionate and the environment very conducive to business

There are also no elevators (for those who may need one).

The format is peculiar as there is no elevator and I wonder what happens to people with disabilities.

burger was burnt that i had ordered for dinner.i did not appreciate that there was no shower in the room and the rooms are not easily accessible as there are no lifts .

No lifts between floors so if you have hand luggage or small suitcase it's manageable

but no lifts and long walk to room with 2 sets of stairs.

The building doesn't have lifts and if you are booked at far rooms rooms from the reception you will have to walk at round about,

Missed the 'security briefing' from our guide as I struggled to haul my suitcases up and down stairs as there are no lifts.

2 things need to be done to improve: 1) the absence of a lift to the 3rd floor is a challenge; 2) the waiters must be there when you require services.

but you are surprised by the large garden and pool at the centre which all rooms overlook, which is very nice.

Otherwise convenient central location in town and the pool and gardens are very nice.

The breakfast is above expectations, the pool is amazing and the garden made that place look like international places.

Great breakfast - we sat by the sun-filled windows enjoying the view of the lovely courtyard garden.

The gardens are well kept and maintained (and so is everything else).

Loved the ground floor room, opening onto the garden in front of the swimming pool.

bathrooms were substandard ..the standard at the garden courts I visited surpassed this hotel by far.

Great ground floor room opened on to beautiful garden setting with pool-a real oasis in the city centre.

Comfortable family room and fair breakfast (other Tsogo Holiday Inn Garden Courts have provided a bigger variety eg Marine Parade Dbn & Sandton Garden Court).

The garden and pool area is perfect and the kids had the best time!Breakfast was lovely with a variety of offerings suited to every palate.

Although we were many, the client service experienced remained top and excellent treatment from staff and the cleanliness of the rooms were so 100%.

Typical 80s type hotel and rooms can be a longish walk.

Rooms are very clean with aircon, big swimming pool to cool off in the heat.

We were able to watch a late night movie and then walk back to our room.

I would recommended requesting a room that has direct access to the pool and garden via patio doors.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming, breakfast SUPERB and the room neat and cozy.

Such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, it feels like home.

The swimming pool is clean and the nature scene hides the fact that you are in  the center of town.

The breakfast is freshly cooked to order and was very nicely set out in a large,airy dining room.

Old style breakfast and one of the best omelettes i’ve had.
