The top bunk of the bunk bed was broken the safety bar had rusted and snapped off, there was someone else's dirty sock under the bunk beds, and the room was ridiculously warm causing me to walk in and order a fan to the room before I had even unpacked.

When we got our real room at 4 it’s shower did not work and we had a semi working fan.

but when we opened the window the noise from some sort of fan or air conditioning unit outside was too loud so we had to keep it shut.

In conclusion the Doric is a decent hotel that could be even better with a few tweaks and attention to detail and I hope the heating problem and the room confusion was just unfortunate timing and not a regular occurrence.

Our only down side was the hotel was so warm inside and the heating would come on at 5am meaning I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep.

The hotel is so hot…ridiculously hot everywhere and the rooms have no air conditioning plus the windows only open a small crack due to the restrictors on them.

As we entered the hotel it was extremely windy , it blew my wife over she was covered in bruises and cuts to her hand, James the manager swung into action and tendered first aid , reassuring her, calming her down.

I do have a couple of concerns we are in late November, it was very cold in the rooms during the day, especially early evenings when the ladies want to get ready for the evening, no heating came on until after 6.00pm.

The only downfall was the temperature in the hotel, it was way too hot and the bedroom was like a sauna, fortunately the 2nd night we had a fan which helped.

but to admit defeat and accept an alternative room, family suite 2, no view, kitchen fans going all day outside the window, and the entertainment room directly below.

We did not get the rooms we asked for and I bought a party of 8 people with us the extraction fans for the kitchen were outside our room windows and we had to keep on asking for them to be turned off from 10pm till 11:30pm then they were turned back on at 7:30am .

Although air conditioning would have been great we realize this would be very expensive for the hotel .

Also it used to be really warm in the entertainment/dining room now it’s freezing!

I would suggest changing the bedside units

The only thing I would say due to the nice weather the room was very hot even with the window wide open there was no breeze a fan or ac would of been nice.

they had run out and were heating up some more.

The only problem was the TV reception was really bad and kept freezing so we could not watch TV.

Downside one of the lifts was broken and we were on the fourth floor so had to wait for lift, the hotel is very tired and definitely could do with some TLC

First time I've felt the need to review any hotel.booked a three night stay at the Doric and came home after second night.Hotel badly understaffed,levels of cleanliness not what u would expect of a 3star hotel.threadbear carpets on stairs lifts not working a very tired and jaded hotel which has undoubtedly seen better days.Would not recommend.

but this time it was not a good experience both of the lifts out of order  and the swimming pool was out of order food was average the wall was damp in the bedroom I will consider  choosing another hotel next year

but then discovered no working lifts which we had not been advised of prior to arrival.

Lift broken since Friday til Monday still broken.

The lift was out of order when we arrived at the side of the hotel we were staying in so had to carry the buggy up to the 1st floor.

The only downside for myself, a man with a few health problems was there was a few lift breakdowns that left me stranded on the ground floor,

Place is a shambles, unorganised, staff have haven’t got a clue what they are doing, lifts broken almost everyday.

Elevators are broke beds in room 19 were creaky as hell couldn’t sleep to watch pool is tiny better food better entertainment more people wearing masks games room needs upgrade hand sanitizer was good

Access for disabled people to use is non existing  small lift one that wasn't working corridors to small ,my wife had a bad fall with  contraption that the manager thought would help

but service slow due to needs more staff bedrooms not cleaned all week again no staff  lift broke all week  James and staff make this hotel  entrainment ok  pool  food  really good.

One of the lifts is broken at the moment, so could be a problem for some .

They have two lifts in the hotel, unfortunately one was out of order and with all the hotel being really busy
we had to struggle upstairs with our cases.

Pity only one lift working ( long queues )  stairs a bit of a killer up to the 4th floor .

Stayed for 4 nights had 3 rooms booked for family holiday beds very uncomfortable and noisy we were obviously in rooms that hadn’t been renovated yet
The lift was temperamental which wasn’t good as needed for buggy we encountered an incident with a phone going missing which we got back through sheer persistence 
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel it’s the first time we’ve been to Blackpool and haven’t enjoyed our holiday

An indoor and outdoor pool (although it could do with some TLC). The friendly member of staff transporting bags and cases to everyone’s rooms and bringing them down on checkout (even when the lift is broken!)

During the short time there only 1 lift was working and when it’s limited to only 2 people in the lift it caused a few irritations.

however, I was a bit disappointed that one of the lifts wasn't working again during our stay.

I spoke with another elderly couple who said that the lady had also been hurt by the lift doors closing on her.

Just come back had a very enjoyable few days with the family consisting of 3         grand children,the kids loved the indoor swimming pool, the breakfasts were really good the staff were very friendly, and the room was clean.

however were really friendly and helpful.

All the staff were friendly and efficient.

Sayed for Mum and Dad's 70th Wedding Anniversary all the staff were very helpful and friendly food nice.

She worked so hard all weekend, very friendly and helpful, a real trooper.

Ollie and  louise  really friendly serving breakfast and tea always smiling helpful  couldnt do enough for us.

Professional and friendly service and very tasty cooked breakfast with choice of fruit, cereals and yoghurts!

We visited the Doric for a 2 night family break in July, we had a fantastic weekend away.

We have just returned from a three day break at the Doric hotel.

We are just back from a weeks holiday with the kids and we absolutely had the most amazing time.

Every member of staff were very friendly and attentive and very helpful with a special mention for Louise who served our meals each day She couldn’t  do enough and was a joy to speak to every one in our party mentioned how pleasant and helpful see was 
We would be more than happy to book again next year due to staff ensuring we enjoyed our holiday to the fullest

Just back from a four day break with three generations of the family.

We stayed over the jubilee Bank Holiday and had a great time, again.

So we had this hotel booked as a break away for my 28th in Feb and we had booked the Margaret Ann suite for the 2 King size beds and Spa bath.

All in all a great weekend break we will return thank you to you all for all your efforts .

Blackpool is always a yearly visit for us and we stay in different hotels each year, this one was really good as it catered for the kids.

The staff at this hotel work so incredibly hard even my teenagers noticed it.

What a lovely time we had at dorric hotel  Monday to Friday very busy arrival kids entertainment was brilliant and food was amazing all the kids love the Louise specials every night the kiddies had we've all had a brilliant time away thanks for having us

The Kids evening entertainment was absolutely wonderful with games from toddlers up.

Me and my family came to stay for the  weekend with 5 children  and couldn't ask to be in a good hotel who catered for adults and children and would like to thank Louise at the Doric who tended to us during our meal times which was not easy when you have five fussy eaters to attend to She catered for our every need during our mealtimes always with a smile on her face  Thankyou

Fantastic entertainment for kids, great food and very attentive staff, particularly Louise in the restaurant - Fantastic service and nothing at all ever too much trouble for her.

Staff were all great and very approachable and I was impressed how they kept their cool with a tribe of children running a mock some nights.

The pools were great for the children and us as it an extremely hot weekend!

The food was great, especially the breakfast, the kids loved the pool.

Kids entertainer ( the woman ) most unfriendly person to entertain kids!!

Meals were fab  entertainment each evening  was  fantastic.

Our little boy enjoyed the entertainment.

The games room is like a scrap yard for preloved entertainment with a torn pool table and bandits older than David Attenborough, which is a shame as this space has great potential for teenagers to take time out.

The entertainment at night we seen most nights and seemed to be of a decent standard.

drinks were what we were after food amazing and evening entertainment was very good for adults and kids. .

In House entertainment was really good .Hopefully taking my wee mum back for the Illuminations

 Rooms are OK and clean, the staff are nice and the hotel has entertainment  and a bar.

The entertainment has something for everyone to enjoy from children up to pensioners.

The entertainment at night was great and we stayed there instead of going into town to catch a show.

I was met upon arrival by a rather fusty pungent smell similar to an old persons home and every table in the bar/lounge area covered in dirty glasses and plates.

If the outdoor pool is anything like the indoor pool, you won’t want to go in the murky bleach smelling water anyway.

Made our way down for lunch, and did notice a rather damp musty smell in the corridors and bar lounge area, put it down to the hotel being closed for a time.

Despite James's  valiant  efforts  she took 3 days to take the hint and finally went outside to smoke.

Downstairs the swimming pool and steam room with access to the outdoor pool and sauna across the alley, the indoor pool was dank dark and dirty the steam room had no more steam than warm cup of tea, the outdoor pool could have much more potential, cleaner

but our gold taps were filthy with a white residue the bath panel was all cracked and black.

Also had a really bad smell about her she just didn’t seem to fit in.

The hotel was very warm and stuffy eating in the dinning room was like eating in a sweat box very uncomfortable.

We had a terrible time at the doric staff were unpleasant and not friendly..hairs on bed disgusting hairs on toilet seat disgrace..

but the smoking terrace at the front is my only negative as it's unusable, unless you are into passive smoking.

There was an awful smell of urine in corridors leading to the room.

but that is the smell,
It is a pity, we have visited Blackpool every year for last 7 or 8 years and this year thought we would try somewhere different, for the approximate £366 we paid per cpl we were expecting better things but the rubbish experience from the 1st evening did put a damper on things and then made it a more expensive experience too,
You regularly read that no one approaches any one now regarding issues and complaints before establishments are the either slated or rubbished , but we tried to have an adult conversation regarding things but the hotel never tried responding in an adult or even a childish way, they didn't respond in any way after the initial conversation

Visited for weekend, found the room had everything required except it was very claustrophobic, overlooking entry and kitchen extractor so the smell of food was prevalent.

but seating beside it is soaked and filthy indoors.

The corridor had very old carpets which had a musty smell and threadbare in parts on the stairs.

The walls were so thin that I couldn't sleep because I heard my neighbour breathing,

but they put something down the drain and it all started bubbling up but unfortunately didn't solve the problem!

Another great stay last week at the doric upgraded our room to sea view good food both breakfast and dinner the staff in restaraunt are a credit to the hotel, rooms cleaned everyday great location tram stop right outside hotel  only fault is only ever one lift working

Our 2nd visit to the Doric Hotel this year, we found the rooms very clean and comfortable,as was the whole Hotel,we were looked after in the dining room by the lovely Louise,who like the rest of the staff are very hard working, to make sure guests are looked after,

When we had parked we were told that we could check and extend our stay by popping back in as long as we didn’t drive out and pay any additional hours and also use the toilets as we had kids with us.

The bathroom floor is slippery with out any footwear on not ideally for a disabled person with mobility issue.

4/5 for The Beechfield hotel - the water pressure of the shower was the only thing that let it down for me personally.

Me and my brother stayed in a twin room that had no tea or coffee making facilities the beds were like sleeping on a concrete slab and the shower was tiny also the full breakfast they offer wouldnt even fill a todlers belly let alone a adults .i wouldnt recomend this hotel to anyone

The bathroom was just nasty looking with bubbling linoleum floor, messy caulking to hide various cracks and gaps, and a 1970s yellow-green color.

but they do need some TLC all the wallpaper in our room was peeling off with big cracks in the walls and the carpets were very worn and also in my mums room there was a leak from the room above on the ceiling.

The gents toilet in the bar area stinks like a sewage farm and was in a disgusting state, the wood frame window in our room No6 is rotten and the litter bin badly corroded.

Room clean, shower curtain needs replacing,Hot water from wash bason not hot enough could cause health problems.Toilet seat loose,toilet flush not stopping,only 4 coat hangers,not double glazed,noisy road no control of heating,light above bed too low wife kept hitting her head on it.

There was no shelf in the bathroom to hold are toiletries so we had to use the sink which got frustrating when things were being knocked over.

Even when we had a slight issue with the toilet seat the staff were helpful to resolve the problem as quickly as they could.

Clean modern bathroom, shower a bit hit and miss.

At one point we were asked if our room had ripped wallpaper or a couple of things in the bathroom as someone who was in the room before us left bad reviews about the room so it was all lies.

The only amenities provided were soap and toilet paper so make sure you bring your own shampoo.

Bad: overpriced, bathrooms (no shampoo, poor finish), rooms (small for a family, no ironing in the rooms, no phone, no tissues, no daily linen change or tidying), another room card opened my room door!

The sink wasinstead in the room as the bathroom was too small to fit one in.

Comfortable beds, nice breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff.

Close to all attractions, The breakfast was delicious the beds were comfortable, the hotel room was very clean also!

From the moment we stepped into the hotel, julie the manager was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

but the room smelt damp soon as you walked in.

For people wanting to go to Blackpool don’t ever go to this hotel it’s absolutely awful and disgusting I went for a night away with my girlfriend we had such a brilliant day in Blackpool we went back to the hotel at 11pm to get some sleep as we was tired from the trip there plus all the walking round soon as we get back to the hotel music was loud in the room

though as the smell of sewage was quite bad when the fan was off.

The room that we were in had damp on the sealing and wall (see photos) and had a damp smell throughout which was dangerous for our daughter.

The room was cold and smelly and the duvet is like a carpet inside a cover.

The rooms are dated,wallpaper coming off in corners mold on the windows carpet dirty with lots of stains,the bathroom old and nasty things broken and held together by silicone, room smelt damp.

Our ROOM 23 was poor quality, people slamming doors and thumping their feet on the rooms above us between 2am - 3.30am and very dirty room - ROOM 23 (Blood On Lampshade Next To Bed / Mold On Ceiling / Cracks In Wall / Lift Call Button Missing / Dust Around Room And Hallways / Black Mold Around Shower / Dirty Bedside Tables / Dirty Sugar, Tea And Coffee Pot) I think its fair to say the cleaners are doing a very poor job at this hotel and need more training.

Only draw back was they no longer had smoking rooms

Stayed here last Fri and the room was right at the back of the hotel down a small corridor room wasn't big enough to swing a cat, the fire escape was all rusting and corroding and was unsafe if there had been a fire,  The bathroom smelt of wee and dampness and shower pipes held on with tape, main light didn't work either a total waste of 65 quid !

It smelt awful and the first thing I had to do was spray perfume it was a very small twin room with no mirror apart from a small one in the bathroom.

Room - oh dear, a strange smell in there, never did fathom out what it was (room 9). One double bed and one single (we had booked a twin??)

There were some hairs around the sink adn thr grout was very dirty.

The only thing that let the room down was a small gap between the shower and the wall, it was filthy, it was a tricky space to clean

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in the room (61) was damp mould on the windows mould in the very small shower toilet room bedding damp smelt.

We were given room 36 which is up the stairs and along a narrow corridor which seemed to have an odd odour.

Julie and all staff are absolutely amazing and we have already booked our next visit.

On arrival, very welcoming, especially the dog 😂😂.
