but fails on some basics - no tissues, no shower cap in the bathroom; the Aircon was totally ineffective (wouldn’t stay there in the summer); breakfast was limited and expensive - go to any of the bakeries nearby.

In hot weather, our small, well appointed room may not have been as enjoyable without a good air conditioning system that the hotel is lacking.

I was wrong, it was extremely hot and no, there was no AC.

ROOM: We stayed in 101, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Random view of the Green Courtyard below ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Biggest bummer as they dont have any kind of Air Conditioning!!

If I could add anything, the rooms did not offer air con, something I must have missed reading when I booked.

Only downside of a summer stay is no AC and opening the windows didn't work well because of all the street noise.

There was a heat wave (mid 80s F) and no A/C.

however this time there was a heatwave and the Circus has no A/C.

But we came for few hot days and there is no air conditioning in the hotel, so if you tend to sweat, don't come when hot, only ventilation in the rooms

I did not see A/C in the room, it might be an issue in Summer.

Expensive for the lack of facilities, no fridge in the room, no ac which wasn’t great next to the bus junction.

On the downside, they don't have air conditioning.

There is no air-conditioning in the room, just a fan (that didn’t help with the warm room, just left me with a sore throat!).

Another issue (which appears in a lot of other reviews) is that there is no air con.

I stayed in one of the apartments; the rooms are immaculate and stylish, as well as large.

I stayed 3 nights in an apartment at the Circus hotel.

I stayed at one of the apartments and they are big (2 floors), beautifully furnished and have high-tech gadgets.

We stayed in an apartment on the streetside.

Apartment was spotlessly clean and very well kitted-out with two bedrooms (one bed in the living area), a separate kitchen and two toilets (one with shower).

The apartment itself was really spacious, with the bedroom on a mezzanine floor and the kitchen had all the basics for cooking,

Stayed in Berlin with my family, and I was delighted to discover that the Circus hotel had apartments!

They have two 2-bedroom apartments within the hotel.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment in the hotel, had everything we needed for our 3 night stay in Berlin.

Staying 4 nights it was great to have space galore in a trendy, spotless,really well equipped apartment.

We specifically wanted to stay here as I had had an apartment nearby two years ago, so knew the area.

The team at the hotel, the front office -  Rahel, Yannick, Marina and everyone else are a super friendly, helpful bunch of good humans who have all the answers you need.

Staff were all really friendly, especially the bartender - excellent customer service.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is gorgeous.

It was very clean, and you were greeted by friendly and accommodating staff, it was very stylishly designed and gorgeous retreat after travelling round the city all day.

Staff is friendly and super helpful (muchíssimas gracias, Julieta!).

The bar has a really nice vibe and the staff is very friendly & efficient.

The style and decor of the entire hotel is stunning, everything is very clean, and the staff is always very friendly and ready to help you with all kinds issues.

What can I say this hotel just never disappoints from its location to the service, facilities, staff and value for money all round amazing place to stay either for a long holiday or short break it's easy access from the airport thanks to the guided video on their you tube page showing you how exactly to get to the front door by public transport to the very welcoming and friendly staff even accomodating us so we were all on the same floor.

The employees are friendly, helpful, and will try to meet every need.

but there were several common areas available that looked rather inviting (ivy covered courtyard, library area, rooftop bar area).

A small rooftop bar uses an honesty system to pay for drinks, providing a pleasant place for a late afternoon drink.

Saving the best til last, the roof top bar with fantastic views of the city sky line. .

Customer service was spot on - neat touches like an honesty bar on the rooftop terrace which is such a pleasant change these days.

It's in great position, easy to walk to main tourist attractions and has metro stop right outside the door.The staff spoke good English, and the best part is the innovative quirky extras they provide such as drinks on the roof top bar, yoga on the rooftop some mornings, and guest speakers on occasion.

I loved staying at Circus and would return in a flash. I especially liked the rooftop "bar."

There is a perfect terrace on the 4th floor which you can buy drinks and sit in the sun. Recommended.

A great vibe in the bar area - with lovely decor throughout, and a brilliant roof terrace.

The views from the roof terrace were spectacular and the central location of the hotel meant that most sights were easily walkable or accessible by public transport.

Roof terrace is fab and yoga in the mornings very centrally located and easy access to everything you want to visit.

One of the attractions when booking was the roof top terrace so we had somewhere to meet up as a group.

Loved the lobby cafe and the rooftop terrace.

There is also a roof terrace with an 'honesty bar' -

You can purchase these items and then have a delightful pre-dinner gathering on the hotel's terrace.

However, it was not an issue when our windows were closed.

The sole window provides a glimpse of the Berlin TV tower and their verandah.

but reasonably shut out if you keep the window closed.

Perhaps the only point is that it was pretty hot, there was only a ventilator and opening windows was not a solution, since they overlook a busy street.

Because of the location one can hear traffic/police sirens/outside conversation with the windows open.

Our room was in the back of the hotel  and once the windows were closed it was hard to believe you were in the middle of a busy city it was so quiet !

but on summer evenings it might be a little noisy if you have the windows open.

but double glazed windows blocked any noise.

The fans don't make a significant difference and you can't sleep with the windows open because it is really loud outside.

However, we could not shut the windows because there is no air conditioning in the rooms, or at least ours.

Loud (and I mean ear shattering loud sirens at ALL hours of night will blare as they ride past your room and through the intersection, the tram likewise is super loud as it has to make the turn - again, right under your window.

Despite the hotel being next to a busy road intersection there is surprisingly very little noise when the windows are closed.

However, we always open windows when we sleep.

The courtyard can be very echo-y and the chatter of people and clatter of dishes can float up into the rooms through open windows.

Having gone in summer it was busy in the streets and the rooms only have fans - we couldnt sleep that well, cause if the window was open, it was loud.

We had a room overlooking the street which would have been noisy if not for the excellently insulated windows.

Best part is the hotel’s location, being only a 5 minute walk from Brandenburg Gate.

Location is great, few minutes walking to neue Nationalgalerie and the cinema museum (both must-sees) and easy enough to walk to Brandenburg gate etc, and also very convenient to public transport - bus or u-Bahn very close.

It’s a short walk to a park and through that to the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag.

10 min walk or so to Brandenburg gate, and very close to Postdam Platz subway station.

Minutes from Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag by foot and right in the middle of the buzzing potsdamer Platz. Perfect

Hotel is located at a walking distance from Bahnhof Potsdamer Platz and a 10-min walk to several sights like Checkpoint Charlie, Berliner Dom, Holocaust Memorial, Brandenburg Gate, etc.

The Location

The Grand Hyatt Berlin is located adjacent to the Potsdamer Platz in the Mitte district and conveniently within walking distance from Brandenburg Gate.

Great location within walking distance to Brandenburg gate and plenty of cafes, bars and shops very nearby.

Hotel is in a great location, a few minutes walk from the park, 5 minutes from Brandenburg Gate and The Bunker Musuem.

And it's just a few steps away from the Tiergarten, the "green lung" of Berlin that is the German equivalent of Central Park in NYC  You can easily walk to the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, Museum Island, the Espionage Museum, and innumerable other sights from the hotel.

It was within walking distance of Brandenburg gate and the park nearby was lovely.

Located right on the edge of west Berlin and east Berlin, checkpoint charlie/hitler's bunker and Brandenburg Gate only a 10 minute walk.

The hotel is located near mass-transportation, and you can easily walk to Brandenburg Gate and many sites.

Location was excellent -- a 5 minute walk to Potsdamer Platz train station (various lines/services), 5 minutes in other direction to Berlin Philharmonic and edge of Tiergarten, and 20 minutes walk to such sites as Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie.

Walking distance to Brandenburg gate, Checkpoint  Charlie, Holocaust Memorial and many key attractions in Berlin.

Tiergarten Park, the Brandenburg Gate, Wilhemstrause are all located a short walk away with great transport connectivity to the rest of Berlin.

(Like to walk? A subway station, the Holocaust Memorial, Brandenburg Gate, Under Den Linen, the Gropius Art Museum and Checkpoint Charlie are in a comfortable walking distance.)

We were greeted by very friendly staff, and the rooms were clean and super quiet.

My room was very pretty and the employees were really nice and helpful all the time.

When I arrived they had kindly upgraded me to a club level room.

So many 5 star touches not present, such as assistance with luggage or having one of the many door staff assist you out of a taxi.

Service was also very attentive and in my memory also an improvement.

An outstanding team that works diligently to exceed guests' expectations, they make it look very effortless.

The breakfast is huge and the wait staff very charming.

We are staying here for the Berlin Marathon,’and staff went out of their way to make runners feel welcome,‘including opening one restaurant early for breakfast on race morning.

The staff was truly the best and we will never stay anywhere else in Berlin.

The Club Level rooms are exquisite – well appointed, relaxing and extremely quiet.

With the suites you also have the club lounge included - 1500-1700 afternoon tea is available / 1800-2000 snacks and drinks.

We had an awesome room on the club floor.

We decided to book the club room which was a good call as the lounge is great for breakfast and evening drinks.

The club is clean, relaxing and offered a lot of options: gym, pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and outdoor chairs.

We visited the club lounge, very nice, quite small, plenty of beer, wine etc, no shorts available.
