but fails on some basics - no tissues, no shower cap in the bathroom; the Aircon was totally ineffective (wouldn’t stay there in the summer); breakfast was limited and expensive - go to any of the bakeries nearby.

In hot weather, our small, well appointed room may not have been as enjoyable without a good air conditioning system that the hotel is lacking.

I was wrong, it was extremely hot and no, there was no AC.

ROOM: We stayed in 101, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Random view of the Green Courtyard below ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Biggest bummer as they dont have any kind of Air Conditioning!!

If I could add anything, the rooms did not offer air con, something I must have missed reading when I booked.

Only downside of a summer stay is no AC and opening the windows didn't work well because of all the street noise.

There was a heat wave (mid 80s F) and no A/C.

however this time there was a heatwave and the Circus has no A/C.

But we came for few hot days and there is no air conditioning in the hotel, so if you tend to sweat, don't come when hot, only ventilation in the rooms

I did not see A/C in the room, it might be an issue in Summer.

Expensive for the lack of facilities, no fridge in the room, no ac which wasn’t great next to the bus junction.

On the downside, they don't have air conditioning.

There is no air-conditioning in the room, just a fan (that didn’t help with the warm room, just left me with a sore throat!).

Our room was a tad too small and did not have air conditioning.

Another issue (which appears in a lot of other reviews) is that there is no air con.

The team at the hotel, the front office -  Rahel, Yannick, Marina and everyone else are a super friendly, helpful bunch of good humans who have all the answers you need.

Staff were all really friendly, especially the bartender - excellent customer service.

The style and decor of the entire hotel is stunning, everything is very clean, and the staff is always very friendly and ready to help you with all kinds issues.

What can I say this hotel just never disappoints from its location to the service, facilities, staff and value for money all round amazing place to stay either for a long holiday or short break it's easy access from the airport thanks to the guided video on their you tube page showing you how exactly to get to the front door by public transport to the very welcoming and friendly staff even accomodating us so we were all on the same floor.

The employees are friendly, helpful, and will try to meet every need.

We stayed there once before and our room was small and overlooked the busy intersection, so was rather noisy.

Also, the room is really small and not comfortable.

The staff was super nice and spoke excellent English.

However, it was not an issue when our windows were closed.

The sole window provides a glimpse of the Berlin TV tower and their verandah.

but reasonably shut out if you keep the window closed.

Perhaps the only point is that it was pretty hot, there was only a ventilator and opening windows was not a solution, since they overlook a busy street.

Because of the location one can hear traffic/police sirens/outside conversation with the windows open.

Our room was in the back of the hotel  and once the windows were closed it was hard to believe you were in the middle of a busy city it was so quiet !

but on summer evenings it might be a little noisy if you have the windows open.

but double glazed windows blocked any noise.

The fans don't make a significant difference and you can't sleep with the windows open because it is really loud outside.

However, we could not shut the windows because there is no air conditioning in the rooms, or at least ours.

Loud (and I mean ear shattering loud sirens at ALL hours of night will blare as they ride past your room and through the intersection, the tram likewise is super loud as it has to make the turn - again, right under your window.

Despite the hotel being next to a busy road intersection there is surprisingly very little noise when the windows are closed.

However, we always open windows when we sleep.

The courtyard can be very echo-y and the chatter of people and clatter of dishes can float up into the rooms through open windows.

Having gone in summer it was busy in the streets and the rooms only have fans - we couldnt sleep that well, cause if the window was open, it was loud.

We had a room overlooking the street which would have been noisy if not for the excellently insulated windows.

The "air-cooling system" is a poor excuse for air conditioning, and Hyatt is going to have to deal with this sooner rather than later in view of climate change.

But facility is poor, I help them to fix two shower faucet because I told front desk.

Service is on the poor side: no warm drinks being offered at breakfast for about 10mins, waiters trying to avoid you; elevator to club out of service for a day,

Really NOT GOOD service, also there were workers at front desk, whose english was so poor?

The room service selection was poor and not 5 stars quality.

Only poor part was evening snacks which were a little limited in choice.

but the mattress was poor and the aircon was insufficient.

The whole debacle delayed us by 30 minutes. So a rather bafflingly poor display of staffing and customer service that leads me to ask, 'Is this a Hyatt?"

Because of poor sound proofing, loud party noise prevented us from sleeping on the 3rd floor until after midnight.

Negatives: poor service in the Tizian Bar even after I had complained about it and the serving staff in Vox Restaurant were not much better.

To be clear the poor rating is reflective of the billing and after stay service.

The hotel is let down by poor mid level management decisions, closing outside resturant to early, breakfast takes forever, closing main bar to guests for functions.

though again housekeeping was pretty poor with used cups and saucers etc not removed and coffee and whitener not replaced.

staying in the 7th floor we had access to the Club lounge which is in a way disappointing: small with a very poor variety of snacks, and at 8.00 in the evening alcohol  drinks/snacks stop.

Unfortunately, winter is warmer than usual at Germany this year and the room felt bit stuffy with poor air conditioning.

In total facility and quality of food was fine, service was a bit poor.

Great staff always trying to help even with the wirdest asks.

My room was very pretty and the employees were really nice and helpful all the time.

Service standards were impeccable at reception and on the one occasion I needed the concierge for a restaurant recommendation, he proposed an option that we wouldn't have chosen without his input; just what you want from a concierge.

Grand Hyatt Berlin is an exceptional hotel, great location, helpful staff, wonderful breakfast, very comfortable room!

When I arrived they had kindly upgraded me to a club level room.

So many 5 star touches not present, such as assistance with luggage or having one of the many door staff assist you out of a taxi.

Service was also very attentive and in my memory also an improvement.

Cordelia who worked in the club area was lovely and attentive.

An outstanding team that works diligently to exceed guests' expectations, they make it look very effortless.

The breakfast is huge and the wait staff very charming.

We are staying here for the Berlin Marathon,’and staff went out of their way to make runners feel welcome,‘including opening one restaurant early for breakfast on race morning.

The staff was truly the best and we will never stay anywhere else in Berlin.

The best location in Berlin, near by the Brandenburg gate , my suite with direct view to the gate, if you are looking for luxury hotels don’t miss this hotel, the location is great, many cafes and restaurants and shops near by the hotel, the staff very friendly and helpful,

Child friendly, you don't need to be dressed up, a great place for a break after visiting very nearby Brandenburg gate.

All personnel were super friendly and helpful, from the doorman to reception to room service to the operator.

It is very complicated and not at all guest friendly!

Without exception all the staff are fantastic, genuinely friendly and eager to ensure your stay is memorable for the right reasons.

Everyone - from the reception staff to concierge to wait staff and clean staff were warm, friendly, professional and helpful.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, and English is spoken by all staff we encountered if you don't speak German. Rooms are comfortably appointed and spacious, including the showers (which can sometimes be very small in Europe.)

Being so fully attentive, friendly and professional at the same time and doing their very best to make customer's time as good as possible as if the restaurant is their own dining room.

Every member of the staff is extremely personally friendly, with real smiles and interest in our well-being.

Staff here are incredible - helpful, friendly, warm - they really make is such a special place.

The service we received was impeccable,  everyone was friendly and accommodating.

but the overall experience disappoints - staff are poorly trained, food is very average ( being generous here ), breakfast queuing times and service times are totally inacceptable …an 80 minutes massage is 60 mins  actual massage … absolutely not value for money and there are plenty of better (and cheaper ) hotels around

It is about 50 minutes from the airport and the taxi was around 70 euros which is expensive.

At the lobby bar, the prices are beyond ridiculous (even water cost over 12 Euros), and the staff was also very arrogant and dismissive, UNTIL it was time to pay!

We were told at check in that our inclusive breakfast rate did not extend to breakfast in the room.

so we had no evening turn down service, so shocked at that for a suite costing almost 1000 euro's a night!!

I took one look at the room and asked to be placed back into the room we had paid for- thankfully they managed to put us in our standard booked suite!

I assume it may be a little more expensive to face the Brandenburg gates.

but not outstanding and according to the hotel very expensive.

When checking out I mentioned I paid this trip for my family because of my birthday,

Slightly slow waitress service which she apologised for and the coffee cost nearly as much as the cake.

The rooms are very tired, shockingly so for the price.

Glad to have had some historical Berliner cuisine and glad to have paid those prices.

With the same price, I guess I will go to another hotel next time I visit Berlin.

The only thing that stays consistent with the old days when the Adlon was still glamorous are it’s prices.

The bathroom had a separate bath and shower as requested  - the toiletries were a bit limited in supply

More were provided once we requested them.

I have told the hotel, in my feedback which they asked for, that i would never stay in this hotel again, and i would be reluctant to use the group again, sadly.

but I had to request the reduction when checking out.

We asked for another room due to these issues

I called housekeeping again and asked them to change all of the linens the next morning.

I asked Paul at the concierge desk about a local Italian restaurant that I had seen

As soon as I asked if they have a better view room, I was told that the rate is higher as it is a different room type.

but I have to nit pick no milk replaced in room for coffee I had to request and face cloth wasn’t replaced either until day 3 .

but when I asked a couple of times for different pillows I was rewarded with pillow mountain by the housekeeping crew.

Was also told that I wouldnt require advanced booking of a taxi as they "line up in front" well at 5AM in the morning, there were 0 taxis waiting outside and I still had to return inside to request the concierge to call one.

The staff here is not even interested to show a reaction on service requests.

They asked if we wanted a Brandenburg gate view or garden view - we opted for Brandenburg gate - who wouldn't.

Now the only thing I didn’t like it’s kinda posh sometimes I was wearing a Sport Trousers and looked a little destroyed because I had been out with colleges the night before and I was asked if they could help me and if I where guests at the Hotel

Upon checkout the hotel asked if we wanted to be charged in Euro or Canadian dollar.

In ny 3 day of been a guest when i was entering the hotel the security man asked where i was going!

The second day of the trip I politely asked again to be closer to my daughter and mom and the front desk manager was so rude and unbelievably condescending, I was just stunned.

Two comfortable chairs (yes, they were ready to be recovered especially the arms) and two desk chairs.

We had a few requests from the concierge, and they were very nice and helpful.

A good food and drinks selection with attentive staff.

My daughter had flown in from Canada especially for the Premier og Falling in Love, as she was part of the Creation team, i wanted to give her a treat as she was only going to be there for two days.

Very attentive and hospitable staff all around.

One of the visiting staff members didn’t know if the fireplace is working as he has working only a week at hotel.

The staff are plentiful and very efficient.

They apologised and offered us free breakfast.

I especially loved the classic uniforms the service staff wore - the time here was a well-rounded experience.

Both are perfect representatives of the highest quality service.

We really enjoyed the hotel, the bar is great and the breakfast at the first floor amazing

The front office staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Morning breakfast was  very good as there was a separate vegan section,and we had good vegetarian options like pasta , sauted vegetables .the entire team was courteous and friendly.

The staff is very friendly and the room service works well.

The staff were friendly and responsive, the rooms spacious and clean with a decent view.

Breakfast had an excellent choice even for a fussy teenager and the staff were very friendly.

I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough, the staff were amazing so friendly and accommodating, the hotel was spotless very clean and hygienic , the pillows and bed were so comfortable it was in a great location we had food here also and it was amazing I will definitely be back to this hotel when I come back to Berlin.

but no noise whatsoever, breakfast in the morning is on the first level, it was just amazing, great selection of everything and even a lady cooking fresh omelettes as you waited, also very accommodating and friendly staff, had drinks in the bar on a couple of nights.

There was a mix-up with the booking and the friendly Reception Staff sorted it all out and made us feel welcome.

Pros:  the location close to mainline station, fantastic breakfasts (added charge), friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds.

Everyone is very friendly and very helpful.

Bar staff were friendly and we enjoyed a night cap there on the second evening.
