The location is about 2,5 k from the city centre.

5 minutes walk from large supermarket and in other direction a shopping center (furniture etc).

but Villefranche centre is only five minutes in the car,  though not much there to see.

The service was excellent, as was the food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast.

The staff are really pleasant, food in the restaurant is very good, probably the best in the whole of the trip (we stayed in 6 hotels) in the overnight hotels.

They have a restaurant on site that is open till late so very handy if arriving later than expected.

The bathroom was small, with just a shower (which suited us).

The rooms are very basic, small shower, not even a box a tissue, and some rough toilet paper.

I have to say she didn’t seem bothered that reception was filling up with arrivals.

The staff were very helpful, found a suitable parking space right in front of the exit which made it very easy to get out in the morning.

Access to and from the autoroute is short and easy, rooms are clean and comfortable and we have always found the staff to be helpful and welcoming.

It has a restaurant, the service was very quick and the waitress  was very kind.

The toilet was jammed up against a wall which meant for me (being over 6'1), I had to sit sideways, to fit comfortably on the throne.

The welcome was so warm and friendly from all the family, it really was like staying with your own family.

Supper if you have it is equally good -- and the other guests interesting and friendly.

We read a glowing report on Les Pasquiers in the Daily Mail by "An Inspector Calls" and decided to give it a try.

Marylene and Guillaume are very welcoming, helpful and relaxed.

Maryllene welcomed us with drinks etc around the pool on a rather warm March evening.

I love the fact that the lovely hosts are disappointed if you do not here with them.

The reception of  Maryléne and Guillaume was outstanding and if you want to stay in a place which is an extension of your home, then, this will be the place.

but the new owners have really upped the ante.

Stayed here towards the end of September, beautiful home and Marylene is an amazing host and fantastic cook.

We were welcomed by the children rushing out to the car with umbrellas to shelter us from the torrential rain, then welcomed into the literal hub of the household with tea and hot chocolate in the family kitchen.

The hosts Marylene and Guillaume are very warm and welcoming.

We were warmly welcomed and invited for an aperatif before joining the other 4 guests for a very enjoyable dinner.

Guillaume and Marylene are wonderful hosts and their kids were lovely.

We revisited recently, our first time with the new owners, Marie and Guillame, who are the most charming and delightful hosts.

We arrived late afternoon and were welcomed by a member of the family.

They are great hosts and their four children were delightful.

Otherwise, the owners are wonderful people, bending over backwards to make our stay more than pleasant.

I would echo everything Sue and Mike and Judy B have said: Marylene and Guillaume are perfect hosts and go out of their way to make you feel welcome in their home; Marylene is an excellent cook and we enjoyed an imaginative dinner.

but with their energy and enthusiasm they will make a huge success of it.

The hotel are old style and well maintained and very clean everywhere.

Every room has amazing deco out of Vogue home magazine.

They recommended several very nice local restaurants (we went to the one we could walk to) and also a great run the following morning.

Jean-Claude helped us find the best places to eat, made reservations and provided insight about the villages.

The Beaujolais region is beautiful for hikes, cycling and horseback riding as well as for enjoying wine and food.

The breakfasts were superb served in the ornate dining room.

The room was gorgeous, as were the grounds.

As well as many of the former customers we really enjoyed the warm welcome of the owners Mme Marie-Noelle et M Jean-Claude Lacroix, the lovely and clean room, the huge park around the Chateau and the excellent breakfast, served on luxurious tableware and silver cutlery.

Our room was spacious with a fabulous bathroom and a large covered outdoor setting area right outside the door.

Our room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable.

We spent two nights at the Chateau, the hospitality shown by the owners was excellent.

They are both fantastic hosts and we will definitely go out of our way to stay there again.

We sat and talked with the owner about his fantastic travels while we tasted his wine.

The hosts are absolutely amazing here - can't say how wonderful it was to meet them.

The owners are wonderful the place is "fit for royalty" The food/breakfast is OUT OF THIS WORLD>.

They are thoughtful, caring people who provided us with outstanding hospitality and met our every need.

The owners speak fluent English and are very welcoming.

Highly recommended for a short stay in the wine region, in particular from the point of view of the owners who were super friendly.

The family who run Des Grande Vins were very friendly & we will definitely return.

We managed to get the owner to arrange an 8 seater taxi for the Beaujolais release night which was a very reasonable 100euros return for all 8 of us with a 1am pick up from the party.

Hotel Des Grands Vins

Breakfast is a meagre affair for such a restaurant, some cherries, the usual bread products, and a pot of a cold rice pudding dessert.

The smell of freshly baked bread and croissants wafted from the kitchen every morning as you came into the breakfast room.

This nice restaurant (Michelin star rated) and hotel is situated in a tiny village with nice views (from some rooms and the breakfast room) to the surrounding wine growing area.

From Lyon we travelled to Beaujolais for a friends Wedding Reception held at Le Chateau des 
Loges,Beaujolais.When we checked in at Auberge De Clochemerle,you could feel the cold
reception which we got,no smiles nothing whatsoever.The rooms were very nice,so was the
place.The breakfast was so very poor for a reputable place.We were asked to vacate our rooms by 12.00 noon,but I,mentioned that we sent the hotel an e-mail months ahead to have a late
checkin and a late ckeckout---- and they had agreed,but this so called guy was adament we
vacate our rooms.Just a very poor show.Will not recommend this to anyone!!! Radford.C

Having dined at Paul Bocuse days earlier, M Barthe's cuisine was every bit the equal, just minus the surrounding grandeur and number of staff.

Everything so good and the staff was very friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at the professionally run, friendly Auberge de Clochemerle.

Service is friendly; they do speak English as well.

The friendly  staff was very helpful settling  us in.

but clean and adequate, and we found the staff extremely friendly and helpful.

The staff are all friendly and helpful, and took great trouble to understand our broken French.

The only draw back, and we were there on a very hot day, was the lack of air conditioning in the rooms made it a little uncomfortable,

Stiflingly hot complete with thick winter duvets, no air conditioning and an extremely noisy supermarket plug-in fan.

The manager was particularly accommodating as, on our request, we were provided with a particularly secure parking spot.

The very pleasant staff were not surprised that we hadn't slept a wink!

The staff were excelent, very attentive without being intrusive.

We will definitely return again & would recommend both the hotel & restaurant to anyone who likes innovative & different cooking, very well presented & served with a smile.

Indeed, Bertrand who waited on us for the most part, was also quite fun = which is not something that can be said about all wait staff in France!

Even now, we talk in amazement of how exquisite the food tasted, how excellent the staff treated us and how beautiful the village was.

Our experience of meeting Sylvie and Jean-Philippe was exactly as other reviewers had described, incredibly warm and friendly.

On arrival we were greeted by our friendly, warm hosts, sylvie and Jean-phillipee.

The owners were extremely friendly and keen to help with information about the local area.

Sylvie and Jean-Philippe are fantastic hosts who make you feel genuinely welcome and Sylvie's home cooked meals are superb.

The journey from Lyon airport took one hour and despite the grey skies we were being increasingly charmed by the scenery as we approached Quincie (pronounced Kwan-see-ay).

but the welcome when you arrive is very friendly.

They were incredibly friendly and helpful and we enjoyed their company very much.

This B & B is a treasure - what a charming, friendly couple, very attentive, obviously very proud of their home and their business.

The welcome was friendly, the rooms were spacious and clean, the dinner and breakfast were excellent and the company great too.

Lovely B & B ideally situated a few minutes from the A6 motorway. The owners were really friendly and helpful (Mr Poupinet even waited for us until half past midnight on the day of our arrival as we got delayed in the traffic!!!)

- breakfast was poor (one croissant per person and some bread), zero choice, no fresh juices.

but the astonishing lack of customer friendly attitude demonstrated by the owners, combined with Spartan conditions and exorbitant price tipped the scale.

The manager really didn’t understand that the toilet in the room with zero privacy was a problem.

The host was very friendly to our 2 dogs and it was handy to be able to let them out to the drive in the night when they wanted to go out.

During telephone conversation when we were making our reservation the owner suggested to take family suit, which will have a common bathroom

Had lots of correspondence with Thomas, the previous owner.

but best of all is the wonderful welcome from the owners.

The [-] were warmly welcoming and interesting (it is one of the bonuses of B&Bs that one often meets people who have a previous life in other settings); our room was large, comfortable and peaceful; they booked us an excellent dinner in a local restaurant; breakfast included delicious fresh croissants and more varieties of jam than our local supermarket does; conversation ranged over fostering the creative impulse, politics, the opening ceremony of the GB Olympics, contrasts in cultural practices, and lots more.

The owners, Siu-Wan and Thomas welcomed us warmly into their home.

We stayed with the owners, Thomas and his wife on the 24th and 25th of December 2011.

Thank you Tomas and Wan, you are perfect hosts.

The building itself has seen better days and needs some refurbishment in and outside, therefore an average rating.

Not a very big hotel - maybe 20 or so rooms in a block across the smallish car park from the admin/dinnig room building.

There was clearly an odour problem with the room and some very crude holes had been drilled into the mantel of the door to allow for better airculation.

Staying here as we speak, the whole place needs re-furbishing, 
The room is tatty, with the curtain half hanging of, the sealant is cracked in the bathroom, and the toilet bowl is chipped, all the door frames look like a dog has chewed them, the windows are dirty.

Friendly staff and very close to the highway.

The staff was very friendly, check in/out was quick and efficient.

Staff friendly and helpful and some have a working knowledge of English.

There were no curtains just an outside drop down blind which had not been cleaned on the inside for years.

Found the girl very condescending with poor customer service.

The staff were rude after emailing them in English and French to request an accessible room and a ground floor room they just looked blank asked for the money which they had already taken from my account at 13:00 The place is dirty in need of being flattened with a tank and rebuilt.
