Excellent service at reception (we asked to get the room early and it was ready, next day we asked to have the room cleaned during breakfest and it was done).

On an overnight stay we thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of choosing a very big room with big comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, lovely bathroom and wide choice at breakfast cooked or not and newspaper available, all for 99E( breakfasts included).

The next day we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast and walked to another winery which was also fabulous - Domaine Christophe et Daniel Rampon, which was an easy 30 minutes walk from Pizay through the beautiful vineyards and some forest patches.

Breakfast the next morning was delicious.

They managed to make even the normally delicious French croissant tasteless.

The breakfast buffet does offer a good variety of food and freshly squeezed orange juice.

We had the intention to take our breakfast somewhere along the way to the hotel,

Roomy, clean, good amenities, direct access to the Spa and the breakfast room is just around the corner.

This was in the newer ‘garden’ wing and breakfast was served in a restaurant in the centre of this block.

The chef appeared to be concentrating on presentation rather than the excellence of the ingredients and the taste.

On the + sides: nice spa + pool, good breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, the grounds of the castle and tranquility.

Though we ordered three courses, the chef kept on sending out little extra treats: all creative and delicious.

We loved the morning buffet and evening apero.

We chose the €80 menu which resulted in a series of different courses of absolutely tantalisingly delicious French cuisine.

After some minutes, she finally acknowledged my comments and admitted the breakfast charge was incorrect.

but hotel not to be recommend price/quality not in balance.

The SPA area can only be accessed by adults and is not free of charge and is € 43 for two hours per person.

Connected wine cellar charges between 8 and 15 euros for tasting.

At the end when presented with the bill, I noticed I had been charged for a different higher priced wine. When I remonstrated, the waiter calmly said "well for 4 Euros more etc, you got a much better wine!"

The final straw was when the hotel took an anauthorised four figure payment from my account to cover "extras" before sending me the invoice.

Breakfast was served in our room at no extra charge and free wifi was available in our room as well.

Unfortunately the set menu didn't change and rather than give you a credit towards your second night's dinner so you could pick from the a la carte menu, you had to pick from the same set menu (three choices only for each course) that you'd had the night before.

They then charged us 70 Euros for four sandwiches!

I would warn any potential guests to check their final bill thoroughly should they risk staying here! !

Nobody to give some guidance and to remind those guests about the correct behavior.

For the really affluent guests, there are instructions for arrival by helicopter as the Chateau has its own helipad.

One point that I think is important to note is that the number of rooms in the chateau itself are limited and the majority of the guest rooms are within a nearby annex.

Unfortunately the guest rooms and amenities do not live up to visuals.

I feel there was maybe a little to much emphasis on the corporate side & not enough for the guests.

The restaurant is in the old chateau and the hotel requests guests to wear casual dress in the restaurant.

but it didn't help on check in to have the receptionist say, "yes, we have many guests who make that mistake". Aaahh!!

The food was of the kind that one would not want to eat every day which was rather fortunate as when about twenty hotel guests tried to book for Sunday evening they were told they could not be accommodated.

but with pretentious pricing and small portions (the steak was 45 euro and was about 150 gr), the fish overcooked, dry and 43 euro.

Nice hotel overall - I wouldn't be running back there too soon given the cost,

When I asked to book the spa (you have to pay an additional cost for the spa, and the massage cost does not include the spa cost - never seen something like that in the 40+ countries I have visited) - she put me through to the spa reception and no one ever answered.

but at the moment of refurbishment we would not recommend to pay the full price.

I think that the hotel is significantly over priced both in accommodation and in the restaurant as it is Michelin listed

For the money we paid, we felt that the indoor pool should be a no-charge offering.

which you'd probably have to be because the rooms are PRICEY!

We ate in the restaurant which was fairly average compared to other places we've experienced in France, and it was very very expensive.

This property could be so much better if they paid attention to some of the details.

Finally, the prices for the bar and the minibar were very expensive.

We also thought the price of about 40 euros/person for 2 hours was a bit much.

Finall insult, to use the modest Spa for up to 2 hours you had to pay 42 Euros.

Gorgeous chateau, unfortunately we were relegated to some 70's looking outbuilding, not worth $1,000 night  we paid for 2 dated looking rooms that were too hot.

So if you stay, make sure you request a room in the chateau itself and be prepared to pay a lot for the room and any little extra.

but did not live up to the expectations raised by the location and price range.

though expensive and we ate elsewhere the second and third nights.

Also when one diner who was not hungry enough to tackle the extensive menu and asked for an omelette he was told this was not possible.

A month before the stay, we asked for a lunch reservation and we were told the restaurant was closed.

I asked to speak to the manager, who took 30  minutes to appear. I explained as patiently as I could (not very!)

but I was surprised to be asked to vacate our table to take coffee at only 8.30pm & we had only sat down at 7.15pm - this is a minus point in my view - & very unnecessary.

We asked if they could make sandwiches, omeltte or salad etc and with very bad grace he agreed to make sandwiches.

When arriving, we were informed the offer was only for the adults (so kids were extra) as so was also the breakfast when normally we often take breakfast offer for everyone.

They offered up a very nice morning breakfast as well, plenty of choice.

Room as described and lovely in cool with the hot days, the meal taken in the restaurant excellent with lots of choice and massive choice for breakfast, they accommodated a family who turned up after the buffet closed at 10.30 am.

The breakfast and dinner were really excellent.

but they also blocked a significant amount on my credit card (250 EUR) and didn't release the amount at the moment of writing this review, 4 days later.

The only negative I have to say, is that til today 8 april, on my creditcard still is the amount of € 150,00 (date 22 march) reserved and I will ask them to correct this, because we have al ready payed the amount for the room before and diner has been payed by creditcard date 24 march!

The only down side was the 30 euro overnight parking charge which I felt was a bit excessive.

but remember to insert your room key card into the slot in the lift before you press your floor button.

Our first greeting from 2 of the rudest receptionists I have ever experienced, were, " Where were you yesterday - You have been Charged" - so it appears there was a mix up in the booking,

While the place itself is very comfortable, has a nice pool and a good breakfast, it is Jean Claude and his wife that make it a top-of-the list place to stay.

Marie-Noelle prepared fantastic breakfasts with bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs and cheese.

The breakfast is superb with delicious home made jams.

They have  a vineyard  with delicious Beaujolais.

Breakfast was really amazing, with home-made jams, cherries from their trees, eggs from the neighbour's farm and delicious pastries.

Marie's breakfasts were also quite a treat, she gave us so many choices

Breakfast is a little celebration of good things every morning, whether served inside or outside.

Everything, from the charming scenery to the comfortable accommodations, the delightful breakfast and the warm hospitality was as one could only hope for!

We had a really good dinner, sitting round the table on the terrace en-famille, and the breakfast was good too.

The dinner/bed and breakfast is excellent value for money and includes use of the swimming pool.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful couples (Sylvie and Jean-Phillipe Auger) bed and breakfast in the heart of the Beaujolais area south of France!

Breakfast was bread with lots of home made preserves, and home made cake - all very nice.

Over breakfast we discussed with J-P our plans for a scenic route to the medieval town of Oingt.

What a night, we were offered homemade appertif which were delicious, followed by a delicious meal made by slyvie and perfect wine,

The en-suite Room & Breakfast were all we could wish for.

Their gîte has everything one could desire, a comfortable queen bed in a large chic bedroom, a modern bathroom, ground floor accomodations for those who move slowly, and wonderful meals for dinner and breakfast.

Breakfast consisted of all homemade jams by Sylvie, and breads and muffins in the lovely dining room.

The breakfast was generous and included lots of homemade and local produce.

although the parking isn't secure, there just isn't anyone around anyway - so we felt more than happy leaving things in the car overnight.

The only draw back, and we were there on a very hot day, was the lack of air conditioning in the rooms made it a little uncomfortable,

Our only gripe: there is no A/C in the rooms and we sure could have used it!! !

Stiflingly hot complete with thick winter duvets, no air conditioning and an extremely noisy supermarket plug-in fan.

although the bed in our room was quite small, the bathroom is fairly basic and there is no aircon.

You can opt for the chef to create a surprise menu from the list of ingredients on the main menu, just mention anything you don't like or allergic to.

The Chef married ingredients like Mozart his notes to our delight and the wine pairing was "right on" and generous.

We didn't have breakfast the next day knowing that we were having a large meal the night before.

Breakfast next morning was served on the first floor terrace looking over the vineyards in the valley below.

The only blip was having some red wine left, thinking he'd asked if we wanted it with our dessert, and being presented with 2 glasses of dessert wine at 7 euros each!

From Lyon we travelled to Beaujolais for a friends Wedding Reception held at Le Chateau des 
Loges,Beaujolais.When we checked in at Auberge De Clochemerle,you could feel the cold
reception which we got,no smiles nothing whatsoever.The rooms were very nice,so was the
place.The breakfast was so very poor for a reputable place.We were asked to vacate our rooms by 12.00 noon,but I,mentioned that we sent the hotel an e-mail months ahead to have a late
checkin and a late ckeckout---- and they had agreed,but this so called guy was adament we

Nice location, between the winefields, ideal to walk with the dog, good restaurant not far from the hotel, quitte area lovely to sleep well, friendly owner for us and our dog, very good breakfast  and very good coffee.

but there are plenary of places in the town to eat and the breakfast was very nice.

We had breakfast on both days which was help-yourself continental.

but there is a small swimming pool, loungers, a lovely patio area to have drinks in the evening, big breakfast.

Rooms are delightful as is breakfast and I can wholeheartedly recommend the dinner as well.

My mistake we didn't book another evening meal. The breakfast food was lovely ( even had my favourite cereal - Corn Flakes! )

Breakfast was a typical French breakfast, we especially loved the juices and home made yoghurt.

The room was spacious and clean and beautifully decorated and breakfast was delicious and fresh and her home made yoghurts to die for!

The breakfast is good, with delicious croissants and home-made jam.

The food was simple and delicious - both for dinner and breakfast.

The accommodation is excellent and the home cooking delicious.

Marie's food is fantastic, with all the vegetables coming from the lovely walled kitchen garden, homemade yoghurt (delicious) and local cheeses.

Breakfast was nicely laid out with a vast choice of home made preserves.

The breakfast included home made jams, yogurts, cereal and of course bread and croissants.

The evening meal, cooked by Jacques' wife and mother, was pleasant and delicious and accompanied by the right wines.
