but this is not the key to my ahhh feeling around this hotel.

Safety checks at entrance and key card in elevator made me feel really safe.

After I did not want to leave my credit card at the desk, a guy appeared and emptied the Minibar and locked all the contents in a closed cupboard.

I dont know where to start when you get $400 stolen from the safe that was locked using 8 digit code and the security manager/duty manager all they can do is to say that theydid the investigation and couldnt find any lead to whom have stolen the money!

It was a lovely place with fast services ,prices are actually good .staff are super friendly.

The service was 10/10, the waitresses are super nice and friendly.

So slow and rather than putting a massage pop up banner on the middle elevator it would be better to have it operational.

I only have one comment regarding the internet connection, it was slow at room 412.

though was a bit slow and disconnected a lot of times.

but you will be surprised by the slow service.

Checkout was very slow, and i even had to ask what was the delay, considering it was 4am, so was very quiet.

The only downsides are breakfast, which I found average, and service in the bar / cafe area, which is slow.

Fortunately, I looked on the Amex travel site because I wanted my reward points and found the room for $270 including VAT.

last note that i checked out at 12 so follower resident wont suffer waiting ( by the way, in many hotels, all access cards will be automatically disabled so you check out on time. .)

I kept explaining to them that the card is not a credit card

The only point I have to mention is the airport pick up and drop were not free of charge just at 44 Dollars each which was slightly high for a 20 minute drive.

I got a card gift from my husband on my birthday on January.I wouldn't be able to visit le royal due to a physical problem.

Wished it could be done online by a credit card.

Very bad customer experience because of a charge of $20 for wifi.

Seamless airport pick up - this despite the fact that I had to stay in a while processing my visa

The fee to obtain an extra internet device coverage was excessive in comparison to the charges at our prior Hotel stay in Beirut.

In addition to that they tried to charge some items from the minibar at the check out that I never consumed before they reversed after a long debate

However, they tried to charge us $11 USD for the privilege.

When I arrived I was having an issue with my card and found the person at the reception a bit rude.

although we had an outstanding full day spa, My wife and I did NOT like  the last impression upon our check out from the hotel (we stayed for 2 nights as honeymooners) - they charged us with 40$ (30 hours parking) and the currency exchange rate from USD to Lebanese Pound (KNOWING THAT THE ROOM RATE WAS GIVEN IN DOLLARS PRIOR TO CHECK IN).

The only downside was to find many of the guests experiencing incorrect bills at check-out, with items charged for which had not been consumed.

upon check out i discovered that i am charged 12 USD for my car parking  per day, and ended up paying 120 USD  for the stay,was never informed about so upon check in, too expensive and most of hotels in beirut dont charge for this.

And now, i am in the lobby checking out hesitated from leaving and charged with positiveness that hopefully will last.

Instead of the normal plastic credit card key, they give you a short pointed metal fob.

Wanted to call and blame them for charging 24000 LL per day and ruining my car.

but first this isnt a hotels limo nor does any hotel ive been in charge 3-4times the reg rate!

Lastly they charge if you park the car in the Hotel!

Far too many personnel were Arabic-only speakers (we even had to call the front desk to tell a cleaner to wait 15 minutes until we had left for dinner).

I should have been informed of this during the initial call.

And we were told that someone wanted to call us to address what happened.

Just one tiny detail, the lighting in the room was very weak that we had to call for extra light.

After a phone call with his supervisor, they told that they upgraded me to a club room.

but never called back and never returned my calls.

I said I would call back, then went and booked the online rate online (on the hotel's web site, not through an aggregator), so my advice would be to book online rather than by calling.

when we arrived, i tried to talk again to reservation desk (made me talk to the lady over the phone instead of meeting her) who said the same and mentioned that entertainer force them to increase the rates (with no further explanation, not to mention the attitude or tone).

followed by a call from the manager to check if i am feeling better!

Our concerns were tended to immediately, with follow up calls to ensure that we were completely satisfied with their resolutions.

Besides they communicated a rate on the phone and charged a higher amount at the check in.

i went to bed and got up to call the management.

however, the start wasn't so good as we had to wait 2 hours to check in (5 pm instead of 3pm) because of electrity issue and we had to call the room services at least twice to get what we want and at check out, they requested to leave the room at noon. .

The girl who did my nails was on the phone all the time and did not use clean nail clips and files.

After calling the front desk and requesting to give me the room that I originally booked, they claimed that they do not have any room available.

On two separate evenings we had to call for replacement towels as the used ones had been removed

It can be arranged with taxi drivers to go somewhere by phone in less prices.

We got food poisoned during our 4 days stay eating such terrible food.. i would never rate this hotel at 5 stars its barely 4 stars that requires lots of renovation, the only good thing there were the staff.

However, high speed WiFi is $20 per day, which is a rip off.

We tried to contact le royal by email to get a quotation for a deluxe room for 2 nights and got a quotation with the price and everything.

NOW FOR THE NEGATIVES:
i was very disappointed to find out that we had to pay an entrance fee for the Watergate water-park.

The room service sent me a sour orange juice ( PS it was very expensive, and nothing happened when i complained).

but still they swiped my card for a USD 100 as a guarantee.

The next day we go to the nail spa and regardless of the fact that it looks like a cheap small place with very unappealing chairs, we were told that the employee didn’t come because “her kid is sick”.

The treatments might be a little overpriced

The only point is the transportation to and from airport is little bit costly.

the reception sells you a hand written code and doesn't give you a receipt, you will pay 11 dollars for ONE hour only.

As i am used to book at this hotel every year, i was a bit disappointed from few things: prices are really high comparing to other hotels with no extra services or luxury accomodation, view from my suite was poor and the most annoying that one of the safe guards didnt allow my 7 years old to play on the water slide because limit is 6 years!!

however the site of hotel is slightly away from center of Beirut  and its on tip of hill and you need to hill down to reach the street to take a taxi or you choice a costly hotels taxi also the free internet is no so good

Also i thought the coffee area should have served coffee for free specially when the amount paid for the package was not cheap.

Room is overpriced in comparing to the service and quality provided.

The only negative thing is that they are stingy with the Internet access and you have to pay for the parking.

you have to pay $20 a day, per device for semi-fast service.

We then decided to get ready in the brides parents room and ask for the newly wed couples room at our return to the hotel at the time of the diner reception the same evening.

The menu is restricted due to the economic crisis

The service is more than perfect and the food is more than delicious.

Start the evening toasting each other at the Titanic, a rooftop piano bar with the best sushi this side of the Orient.

5) Food is good, especially the breakfast buffet,

One of the best delights is the amazing Carol smeha who works at the restaurant everyday she welcomes us with a big smile and amazing service.

all about the hotel is great from the front desk to room cleanliness and services as well as the staff ability to manage all guests needs added to a great location with a gym and excellent food.

The quality of treatment, food, services, hospitality & care is of the excellence level.

Food was truly great, and wine even better (I recommend "Ksara"), I have indulged myself in hotel's spa - one of the best massages I've ever had.

The restaurant and the dining halls offer delicious platters.

Thank you chefs for the amazing Lebanese food!

5 th floor restaurant is very good with good prices even locally.

The food was very tasty and the wine refills were without any delay.

The breakfast was very tasty and pleasant by the hotel pool.

The breakfast buffet was delicious and dinner by the outdoor pool was unforgettable

I had a really nice stay at this hotel, nice staff, good clean rooms and an amazing view of the coast.
