the closets were full of splash that looked glittery shiny spots, The check in card machine was full of yellow and brown disgusting that I couldn't touch.

He went above and beyond to make sure I felt confortable, he trusted that thingd would get sorted (there is nothing worst than someone giving you untrusty look when your cards don't go through).

Room cards/gym cards , never endless story.

but then charge an extra $5 per hour delay.

I had trouble with my credit card and they let me make an international call without charging for it.

Pubs and rooftop to chill during sunset time or simply go grab some booze or to have a fun loud night out.

Saturday evening was very noisy with loud music and street noise

Some weekend there also is party at the rooftop.

Stayed here mid March 2019 for a week as part of a party of 50 who flew in from all over the world for a special international seminar.

On a couple of negative notes (which is why I did not rate the hotel as being excellent), the smoking in the dining place (in Europe all public spaces and hotel are non smoking) and the loud music on the roof top by the swimming pool.

There was a band or loud music playing on one of the nights,

That mixed with the really loud cafe on the second floor was a touch annoying.

but it was not as loud but still kept me awake.

So this is def not a party hostel with drinking games every night since the majority of the building acts as a normal hotel.

Friday night can get noisy, party and karaoke..

If you like the party scene this should not be a problem,

Second noise issue is on Friday and Saturday nights, when the cafe downstairs - which is great, has a fabulous vibe - plays rather loud music until the early hours of the morning.

but that was the only very noisy night we encountered.

My son and his girlfriend were booked in at this hotel for vacation, unfortunately, my son became sick “Internal bleeding” Mr Mike and his team provided professional aid by quick responding and calling the ambulance to take my son to the American University hospital in Beirut (AUB).

The rooms I stayed in were noisy and wet.

Downside is the (very) noisy street it’s located on, making earplugs a must have on the lower floors.

We were on the 5th floor and sometimes were disturbed by the sounds of chairs scraping in the middle of the night.

The noise of music that people talk about was not heard in the room, it was only noticeable when you were passing the restaurant.

though traffic around this area can be pretty bad at peak times.

Negatives: staff is not very friendly; very loud rooftop concerts on Friday and Saturday, AND very loud rock concert on first floor (restaurant); when I asked at 10 pm when the concert would end, the manager said “it was early for me to want to go bed.”  I dunno.

Nice breakfast at the adjacent restaurant that has Lebanese live music on a regular basis – it can be noisy in those evenings.

The only annoyance this brings is really the noise as the windows are single glazed and don't really keep the noise away.

but I really have no complaints (noise aside).

Sadly due to the thin windows the room is quite noisy, so if you need really a quite place to sleep, this probably is not the best possible choice.

The street itself is quite active which makes it painful in terms of traffic during the day

Rooftop bar good, busy and somewhat noisy when trying to sleep at the weekend.

but you don`t hear the noise of the city.

Smallville is beautiful hotel, the rooms are clean staff is wonderful and responsive, and the breakfast buffet is phenomenal.

but this is not the key to my ahhh feeling around this hotel.

Safety checks at entrance and key card in elevator made me feel really safe.

After I did not want to leave my credit card at the desk, a guy appeared and emptied the Minibar and locked all the contents in a closed cupboard.

I dont know where to start when you get $400 stolen from the safe that was locked using 8 digit code and the security manager/duty manager all they can do is to say that theydid the investigation and couldnt find any lead to whom have stolen the money!

So slow and rather than putting a massage pop up banner on the middle elevator it would be better to have it operational.

I only have one comment regarding the internet connection, it was slow at room 412.

though was a bit slow and disconnected a lot of times.

but you will be surprised by the slow service.

Checkout was very slow, and i even had to ask what was the delay, considering it was 4am, so was very quiet.

The only downsides are breakfast, which I found average, and service in the bar / cafe area, which is slow.

2- the breakfast, have been to many hotels in Beirut and most are in Hamra area, the breakfast in many other hotels is way better, more rich in quality and variety, the lady in charge of breakfast is an angle!

Due arriving to hotel said room damage AC & other room not available,leave me alone to find other hotel I paid extra charge 35 USD extra my request to paid me this extra charge from coral hotel to my card due his responsibility

Ohhh and they charged $15 for breakfast per day.

but was surprised that they can't arrange a room for me as seems they had an overbooking online, although they did charge the first night without even giving me a room.

till now my money still not back to my credit card, i hope soon ill get it

I had to stop by the reception many times to reactivate  the room access card.

The only coffee at the buffet breakfast is "American coffee"; if you want anything better there is an extra charge.

As an aside, we had originally booked at a nearby 5 star hotel, which was unable to execute our credit card transaction due to their system error, which they refused to acknowledge and correct, even after Amex-Global Assist assured them that my card was good.

What was even more fishy is that this wasn't an isolated incident, our friends travelling with us were also overcharged for the minibar.

but a problem was caused by Cleartrip as I received the booking voucher on 21/07 14 but Coral AlHamra did not receive the details of my credit card???? ?

But then upon checking out - I found that they had actually charged us 30 US DOLLARS FOR THE CAKE!!!

He charged us double the amount that  should be paid.

For the 215 USD a night we were charged it was simply put substandard.

What they charge $120 a night for is ridiculous.

Dairy products etc need a cool place for storage during the breakfast buffet.

About breakfast , it's basic with local products which were quite good for thier standard , I can guarantee that no one will leave hungry from there as long as you don't expect a five star hotel breakfast.

The adidas store sells very different products from the ones in Asia.

For a reason I still don't understand, I was asked to pay for my breakfast on spot rather than adding it to the final bill! !

but requested a change back to deluxe but this was only possible 2 Nights later as hotel was said to be fully booked
The suite was like a small 1-bedroom flat  but I always prefer to be in a large room.

Dislikes: 1) Took 2 rooms we did not book, we asked for an apartment type which was not ready when we checked in, so first night we spent in 2 separate rooms (had my older age parents and wanted to keep a close eye on them at night, they need help going to bathroom sometimes).

When i asked a staff about it they told me there is nothing they can do about it , and that is a common problem that the one who stays at the hotel is facing .

not clean at all, the reception staff was rude and we asked for our room to be cleaned and it was half clean with hair balls on the floor.. a bad experience especially with the sounds of construction work at 8am on a Saturday morning.

but was disappointed when I asked for Lebanese coffee to be told that it was at an extra cost!

If you asked for anything it is served after a considerable time!

The place is good, clean, you dont need a car to discover beirut.but the stuff Was unprofessional not helping, for ex i asked for 2 glass of wine he send to the restaurant to bring this too glass and i wait inside because they was confused, same employee the next day also i asked for my car key, he show me with his finger where i can find the key, so i had to go and search between other keys, and he did nothing when i was complaining from the noisy sound of the AC in my room

Staff is not helpful and breakfast is not good they ask me for money before check in and WIFI is not working well , the room service are angry except me fayad, somebody  came to clean the room when I was inside and when I asked her to come back she said i cant if i go now I will not comeback

Their reply was that l did not request it?

but after a while asked us to sit down and wait.

There were no maps of Beirut available, they didn't follow up on requests and often did not seem to have access to the right information.

There is one receptionist name Ibrahim he cancelled my booking Because my flight delayed one hour, after long waiting he gave a room on the second floor at he same time already requested to be in the higher floor
But hotel is good and location also

while the American coffee there is pretty bad, their lattes, which they make upon request, and for a small charge, are quite good.

We are a family of four, and we requested a high floor and adjacent rooms beforehand.

Our requests were handled professionally.

but unfortunately one of the receptionist whom we asked for help to get a taxi to go for a ride.

During business travel stayed 4 hours only.Experienced very friendly staff at arrival and checkout,comfortable and clean room and good breakfast.The area is quite busy and noisy

Though it was for one night only, yet everything was just right, professional staff, allowed me for an early check in and late check out, room was very clean and specious, went for the suit with balcony, comfortable and relaxing, the reason why I think its one star shy from perfection is: 1- Laundry service, more than 10 USD for trouser, almost 5 USD for a tshirt, its almost the price of my tshirt!

 Location of the hotel is really good, close to the shops, restaurants, walking distance to Armenia street (15min) and Cournish.

The El Hamra district where the hotel is located is excellent to stay with many restaurants and shops and the University nearby.

but not least is that it is near hamra street where all shops and restaurants are, plus its close to lebanon downtown area.

The location was good because it's in the middle of the city where all the shops are .

The hotel is well located within close proximity to many shops, pubs, restaurants and other hotels.
