She prepared me a wonderful afternoon tea set with hot tea and invited me for drinks after dinner at the lounge.

I was inspired by the huge bathroom, comfortable beds, and beautiful design elements like traditional tea station and bookshelf.

The waiter that I saw each morning realized I am a huge fan of English Breakfast Tea and was always refilling without me even asking by the end of the trip.

If you feel hungry during the day, you can come back for afternoon tea where they serve various cakes, cucumber and chicken sandwiches and an array of desserts and of course the mandatory English tea selection.

The food was perfect it anytime of day, including for breakfast meetings and afternoon tea.

The spread of breakfast was good and included western, Chinese, Japanese food items plus fruits, tea/coffee.

There wasn’t a single time that I went into the lobby and wasn’t greeted by Ronnie or Hedi with a cup of Jasmine tea or coffee.

After chatting with me she invited myself and my husband to enjoy high tea a couple of days later.

The restaurant manager, Simon, greeted us every day with a warm smile and his staff remembered how we took our coffee day after day.

They printed an edible Chinese likeness of my wife and me drinking Chinese tea, and made a nice swan towel decoration on the bed.

The hotel property is gorgeous, pristine in every way  and it is located just steps away from Rodeo Drive style shopping, an indoor mall and local flavor eatery.

The location is great - adjacent to a popular Beijing mall with great Chinese and Western restaurants, a great docking point for visiting the tourist sites, and rather well located to get around in the city.

The room is spacious, clean, quiet and well appointed in the traditional Ritz Carlton style, and the hotel well located in the centre of all amenities (restaurants, shopping malls, banks, subway).

There is a mall attached to the hotel that has many restaurants (though language will be a challenge for most).

Convenient to the hotel was SKP mall and underground eateries with endless options.

We have stayed for a week and location wise hotel is perfectly located close to all amenities, 2minutes walk from the metro station and a throw step away from SKP shopping mall.

The location is prefect, surrounding fashionable shopping mall and very convenience to go everywhere, except the traffic was packed during that mall anniversary celebration.

Step out of the hotel to a fabulous shopping center with great stores and dining.

It was also located in a business shopping area, which was nice to walk around and enjoy, especially the restaurants.

The location of hotel is about 10 mins by car to most locations within central Beijing and situated in a mixed use area anchored by a large shopping center surrounded by residential and office buildings.

To the left, we saw the "new" Beijing, with major shopping destinations.

The location is also very convenient as it's within walking distance to the Metro, and right next to the SKP shopping complex.

The location is perfect for fun and shopping and it exudes comfort luxury and warmth.

A train station is located nearby and shopping centre is across the street and provide plenty of dining options.

Arrival Day One- While my family was unpacking, I decided to familiarize myself with this fantastic property located in the heart of Beijing's shopping Mecca.

The location is highly convenient as it's easy to access from the airport and conveniently situated right next to the SKP shopping complex.

The shopping center has a great food court with a lot of choices. Most of them receive WeChat payments (very modern)

Taxi fare to touristy areas was about 35 Y and the walk to the subway was 10 to 15 minutes, perfect for stretching your legs.

The location is in the residential area, it takes about 20 minutes walk to the nearest subway station and Niu Street where all the Halal eateries.

Hotel is situated in a residential area approx.

The breakfast was a nice quiet dinning area with the best coffee during my trip to China.

2) You can have made-to-order omelet, noodles or even exotic rice cake at breakfast area.

but in a nice area to explore a bit in the evenings to see some of the Beijing locals.

Getting to the SOHO area (Sanlitun) will take you about 45 minutes in the evening and about 20 minutes at night when there’s no traffic.

The room was very large with a little sitting area by the window and plenty of space to spread out.

I suggest to stay at Tianamen area so you could walk around because it is the real "central".

Immaculately clean inside - nice large airy public areas.

but try and you can always get someone in the reception area who can speak good English.

The residents of the area were out walking their dogs.

Would have rated 5 stars if the staff were educated on things in the area.

The gym and fitness area was also more than expected and worked well for us each day to use while there.

There weren’t many Restaurants in the area, and one I found the staff didn’t understand English.

From Tian'anmen, the Forbidden City as well as the gorgeous shopping area South of it are easily accessible.

Area is out of the main tourist areas, in a business district, very quiet no shops etc nearby.

However – since it is a residential area most shops will be closed by 8PM.

Disappointingly the bar was closed for refurbishment

I was staying on the 15th floor, it was quiet as the room was facing the car park and if the window was closed you could hardly hear any noise from the street.

but they graciously helped us fill our plates with food we wanted and didn't rush us out or say - NO, we are closed.

The most annoying thing was; I checked in at 21:20 on Friday evening and the restaurants were closed, I had to order room service.

They closed at 16:30 and would not re-open until Monday morning.

even though he had told us it was closed.

When the business center was closed I was able to go to the Executive lounge and use the internet.

And oh the coffee shop closes at midnite; at half-past-ten was told the kitchen is almost closed - except for rice, all dishes on the menu were not available.

We arrived late at night 11.30pm to find no Concierge service and the bar was closed.

rooms were spotless with tea and coffee facilities which were gratefully recieved., breakfast was lovely with a very varied menu to suit all palates.

I was glad that I took my favourite tea bags and coffee bags with me, as they supplied only a couple of them.

We arrived late night ( 2 persons) so check in was very fast and good, the room is very big with big beds and clean, we find all what you can need ( fridge coffee tea glasses spoon . .)

Staff serve coffee, /tea which is a nice touch.Money exchange machine is available in foyer & atm through breakfast room.

Dining room staff brought out tea or coffee upon request.

Fair breakfast with good service and good coffee made to  order.

but it does have the best coffee we had in China- individually made espressos that almost made up for the lack of sleep due to being hot!

The hotel itself is just great – breakfast is always fresh and offer variety of cuisines, coffee and water to go and cakes.

While we waited the staff brought us coffee and water and then allowed us to check in at the ridiculously early hour of 0700!

but freshly made eggs were good and there was plenty of hot coffee and juices.Well located in the city.

but few of the staff spoke good enough English to understand our order of tea to accompany our breakfast.

While the reception staff were attentive the coffee shop staff were hesitant to serve us until we stood there for a considerable length of time.

Room has adequate lighting, a good desk and chair, free wifi, tea and coffee, a full length mirror, a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, and rain shower.

The delightful barrista at the hotel coffee shop, Elena, treated us to her delicious new creation- a Kahlua and coffee drink called  'Heartbeat'.

As you walk in the door you a confronted with a sign that states no smoking since June 2015.

Similar to the lower end chain motels and our room could have used updating (new bathroom door, tile, etc.).

But it is not strictly enforced and I saw some Chinese tourists smoking in their room with door open.

Upon arrival, the front door was unmanned, the front desk didn't acknowledge the Spire status of IHG Club membership, when I finally asked it was replied with a simple the room has been upgraded.

but the walls must be quite thin because I was kept awake by a guest next door to my room who seemed to be yelling and verbally abusing either his spouse or offspring at the other end of the line.

When they arrived someone rushed out of the door to greet them, put there luggage onto one of the carriers, and took them to the desk and then escorted them to the lift (and I assume their room) and carried their bags for them.

It was a very comfortable room and the air conditioning was ok.

Lunch/Dinner food in the salt and pepper restaurant was bland at times (needs a bit more salt) and very expensive in comparison to the restaurant next door.

Unfortunately we had a room with a connecting door (I dislike these) and our neighbours were both smokers and very noisy.

On arrival this time, the front door was unmanned, the front desk didn't acknowledge the Gold status of our Holiday Inn Club membership, and we were assigned a smoking room---instead of non-smoking as requested months earlier.

I turned on the lights, started the aircon and went about my workout for 20 minutes before an employee walked through the doors.

However with  a couple of minutes of me putting the phone down Michael was at our door and said he would take us to a hospital for treatment.

Nobody at the door so I have to walk to the street to get taxi even with my luggage.

on check in the staff immediately tried to sell us "much better" rooms for more than we had already paid on line - the interconnecting rooms we requested were not avaliable and so we got rooms next door.

but from next time we left the door notice hanging as well and the room was not disturbed.

but these mentioned above all started from the hotel's door.

The girl at the door always wrote down our destination for the taxi driver in Mandarin, told us how much we should pay and wrote down the taxi's license plate just in case we had any problems.

Hearing a few times it was being sent to the hotel, the next morning I was up early and came down from the 16th floor, elevator door opens, there stood Storm Li.

We then returned to our room in the early hours, put the Do not disturb sign outside our door and at 10am house keeping walked straight into our room!!

The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.

Stayed here for three nights on a trip to Beijing / Xi'an and I was very impressed; the staff were friendly, the rooms excellent, and the facilities (particularly the swimming pool) are great.

We saw at least one English speaking staff at reception on duty every day.

I showed it to the concierge at the hotel and told him that I wanted to go there.

Foyer and check in was great, lobby bar was run by a staff member who had/has no customer service training.

Reception staff were very helpful and the check in process was seamless.

but ever helpful staff at reception were able to help.

Staff mostly knows English & that's is a big help.

We had a small-group private tour of 3 couples for 3 days and 2 nights on Beijing.

We were booked into this hotel through a tour agency, which can be iffy.

He immediately recognised it and guided me.

This was the first place we stayed in a 2 week tour of China.

The hotel, the choice of our tour company, Travel China Guide, helped to make that part of our stay in Beijing pleasant.

Travel China Guide arranged this hotel for our family of 4 in 2 rooms as part of our tour accommodations in Beijing, excellent hotel!!

to smoggy (true of whole city), lots of people and bikes on sidewalk and streets, best running route is to International School and back for about a 3 mile run.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for three nights during a tour of China and thought it was really lovely.

I stayed at the hotel for two days, which was arranged by TravekChinaGuide as apart of a private tour I booked.

though we had booked some private tours before we arrived, it would have been no problem to leave that up to the concierge team.

When the  tour company we used (Travel China Guides) promotes this Hotel, they call it the best Holiday Inn in Beijing and while we didn't stay at any others this one had a great deal going for it.

I had to take their Great Wall Tour as well as there are no travel agencies around the area too.

We stayed here twice recently whilst on a seven day land tour of Beijing and Xian.

We stayed here in early September as part of a land tour and despite some questionable reviews we found the hotel clean comfortable and a surprise.

We were happy that this hotel was part of our group tour.

We paid a little extra for breakfast everyday, and I can't emphasise how great it was to have a good breakfast to start each day of our free and easy tour.
