Excellent customer service and an excellent buffet breakfast.

The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of foods to suit all tastes western and Asian.

Wi-Fi connectivity was excellent and the lunch buffet on the ground floor was also great.

The front desk team made us a nice welcome and smooth check-in, taking care of our ticket booking for sightseeing, making great breakfast in bed (very positive aspect of COVID-19 due too lack of breakfast buffet ☺️) and super delicious menu and dinner buffet in the restaurant (of course incl safety measures).

Breakfast is abundant, high in quality and taste and will offer both Chinese and Western staples.

The hotel restaurant Tian Tian was excellent for both breakfast and dinner.

The Breakfast was super delicious and also the room service.

In the morning, we enjoyed the breakfast spread, which was quite nice.

I agree with many of the previous comments about getting a room with access to the Club Lounge.

The highlight of the stay, like what many reviewers have shared, was the experience at the residence club lounge.

The residence club staff was very helpful and understanding (Oscar) : I was invited to stay and benefit from food and beverage at the lounge club even after check out (as i had a late night flight).

The staff in the club lounge is exceptionaly friendly and carrying!

The choice of food was excellent and the Club lounge was very comfortable.

The club lounge is one of the best we have been in.

We especially enjoyed the club - the staff up there are very helpful and accommodating, and we appreciated the long hours compared to some other hotel club lounges.

I had access to the Residence Club Lounge which there were afternoon tea and pastries from 3-5pm and then god selection of food and drinks from 5:30-7:30pm.

The Residence Club consisted of a club lounge and dining area with an expansive outdoor terrace which included breakfast daily as well as evening cocktails and and an extensive range of food from 5.30pm til 7.30pm.

Food in the club lounge is much better at New Word Shanghai Hotel.

- The happy hour at the residence club lounge had a neat collection of drinks and appetizers.

Well worth the extra cost.larger room , you can avail of the exceutive club lounge all day.

Upgrade to the Club Lounge, you will not regret it.Sally the Club Manager answered all our questions and looked after us like we were the only patrons.Rooms were clean and tidy and the Club made our stay more enjoyable.

We had a residence club room type, which means access to a residence club area, where you could enjoy your own breakfast buffé and a la carte dishes in a calm environment either indoor or on the terrace, as well as an afternoon/ pre-dinner drinks and snacks.

Would definitely recommend others to stay in the residence club rooms here.

I booked a Residence Club room which is well worth the extra money if you are going to use the Club and have breakfast and drinks in the hotel and of course, if you want to treat yourself.

We stayed in a Residence club room for 5 nights at this beautiful presented hotel we enjoyed our stay.

I got a free upgrade from a regular residence club room to a premium suite because it was my husband’s birthday.

I would recommend to book a room with access to the club room.

The location is perfect for a nice walk to lots of shopping and restaurants, also the metro is quite close.

The location was so central, we walked to the main shopping streets and had the choice of lots of restaurants.

The location is 15 minutes walking distance to Tiananmen Square and Temple of Heaven.

The location was pretty good as you could walk to most of the key tourist sites.

We booked a suite at this wonderfully located hotel and boy are we so happy we did it.

By the time we came down for dinner, the staff already knew us and greeted us by name.

Hector was such a great host, with all the stories of the cocktails and recommendations of ones to have.

You can get breakfast at a restaurant located on the ground floor.

If you’re not a big eater like me – I went with my bf every night and wasn’t even hungry enough for diner most nights.

Not only the lounge,the whole hotel is truly the fusion of western and Chinese culture from the interior design to the impressive food povided by its restaurant.I strongly recommend the restaurants herein.

Many options available for travellers to go around town with MRT train around the corner and food options aplenty within walking distance.

The rooftop bar has beautiful views of the city and should definitely be used as a day restaurant and not only night bar.

The rooftop bar was lovely and the cocktails would be highly recommended.

The rooftop bar was great, i love the sound selection of their DJ, the only bummer was, there's a new building being constructed infront, so this blocks the magnificemt view of Tianaen square at night.

Al the building, from the lobby to the rooftop bar are made to spend a wonderfull time.

but asked to have it delivered to the roof top bar on 12th floor and had dinner there.

The service was amazing,  the breakfast is great and the rooftop bar is an absolute must for great drinks, good music, and a spectacular view.

But it was just right to sit on the marvelous terrace or roof top bar in the evening .

Rooms are large, stylish, modern, and very clean.

The room was beautiful and quite comfortable.

The room was big, clean and comfortable with all amenities expected at a 5 star hotel.

It is already our second stay and we really like the modern and spacious rooms.

Every detail in the suite oozed luxury and comfort from the linens, furniture, curtains, beds, 2 washrooms, living room area.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Beijing, rooms were massive and very clean.

Undoubtedly a good posh hotel with swanky modern rooms and great facilities.

I believe we were treated in rooms 4 and 6.

The room was spacious and tastefully decorated.

This is an important fact in China where most of the local food can be adulterated with chemicals, potentially poisonous and cancer causing substances!

Breakfast could be a little bit more furnished with occidental food, and the proximity with the kitchen makes the room smelly.

Con - Visited the spa pool and could detect some gas smell.

The toilet has sewer smell, luckily it is isolated from the other part of the room so it didn’t bother me too much and we are out most of the time.

but close enough to Zone 1
- Not all staff speak English, but they are willing to help

The Bad:
- While the water pressure is strong, the drainage is very slow so flooding the shower stall

Overall recommend this hotel.

The only place to smoke, is street outside the hotel.

I was horrified when a couple of men spit over the side of the pool into the drainage gutter.

The last three time I went here it happened: a room with a strong smell of pee, a room with the bed header with the shadows of the previous guys that stayed there, pillows that stinks, low level of cleaning.

I would like say thank you to all of the employees in this property.

Nice modern hotel, receptionist team fast and helpful, lounge staff Penny was polite and helpful.

My stay was exceptionally pleasant, with a big part of that directed toward the staff.

All staff went over and above to make us feel welcome and offering help.

You asked for two bottled water, they leave you with six.

I came back from dinner and my bed had been turned down, the blinds closed for me, a bottle of water put by my bed with a handwritten note!

Room is perfect, and design is less is more ( the only thing that make me is that i cannot find the door of toilet and the water bottle boiling base charger) style .

Only negative is that they use plastic water bottles in the rooms.

Did I mention that it also happened on a national holiday when the entire country is closed for observance?

Disliked - The spa, pool and gym were closed down

so many great things about this hotel, sadly for us the pool was closed for renovation and there was not yoga available and then the Cafe was closed and relocated.

The charging station is oddly located, and cannot be closed when you plug in your phone, and etc.

the entrance is too dark and the door to the locker room is so small.

Restaurant in B1 was too dark for breakfast, with an "average" and expensive menu; However, Beijing duck for dinner was good.

Eating breakfast in a dark basement was not a nice way to start the day (maybe they should have served in the union bar which is in the lobby and has actual sunlight?).

I got AMEX coupon so tried the Chinese resto downstairs (for free): mix Chinese food with slight dark and contemporary decoration.

although I find the pool area a tad too dark.

A lovely minimalistic layout and a lot of open space were definitely a plus.

The room was beautifully designed and all staff were friendly and helpful.

The stainless still pool is definitely a surprise, the design is stunning.

Superfly has brilliant free flow deals and a great vibe while the rooms in the hotel are calm, zen as spacious.

Upon arrival, the room was specially prepared with gifts as well as a decorated cake and a bottle of Champagne.

Dining options as usual were too class and of course the architecture and features a pleasure to behold.

Our room was spacious and bright, and we were welcomed by a hand-written note and an assortment of nuts and berries.

The room was light, airy and spacious with the warmth of wood and simple Japanese aesthetics.

Since I was last in Beijing before the pandemic, the hotel has seen a redesign and new spaces pop up like the Superfly, a cool Sichuanese restaurant, or the super stylish UNION bar.

Was quite happy to be there, enjoy the art and drinks.

Everything from the design, to the location, gym & pool, and bar &  restaurants, are exquisite.

Located in Taikoo Li,  the hotel itself is part of the heart of the city, there are abundant choices of bars and diners apart from the ones the hotel has to offer.

Before my arrival, Craig sent me the location of the hotel and it's very easy to find, Sanlitun in Chaoyang District.

Gym/pool are well equipped, modern and generally quiet.

I liked the modern minimalistic design of the hotel, the room I lived was quite spacious and neat , the staff were very friendly and willing to help :) The fruit bowl I had for breakfast was super delicious too :)

The room itself was clean and modern with plenty of space and sunlight to facilitate a moment of quiet in the heart of Sanlitun.

Union is my most favorite public area at the hotel, luxury & decent decoration and bright color made a modern space for your hang up with your friends.

The service is impeccable, the rooms are serene, quiet and modern and we always leave feeling refreshed.
