There is a money changing machine in the lobby for those who cannot make it to the nearby bank to change to local currencies.

I handed the fresh money coming from the ATM to my girlfriend for her to give it to the driver so I can get my luggage out of the trunk.

but you fill home always same standard.. clean.,comfortable,great staff, good value for the money.. even waterfall sound from 10th floor..my favorite..

but not amazing but no hotel are guna provide the best of the best food or they wouldnt make much money.

But with so many pros, its still value for money to stay here.

Having now stayed here on two occasions, I think it is a good place and value for money.

For the price you are paying this hotel gives you excellent value as to the location and the rooms.

This value for money hotel is in the middle of everything and yet the room was quiet and peaceful.

The room is a bit small compared to other Holiday Inns that I've stayed in the past,

Rooms are small for a family to share and there is no bath.

It is within the correct rings for tour guides to pick you up and has a great peking duck restaurant across the street - Jing Zun Peking Duck restaurant.

They went out of their way to may us feel comfortable at our stay and went above their duty by personally showing us around the city of Beijing, giving us directions and recommendations and even took us out to their favourite street food and drinking hangouts.

We ate in the Duck restaurant across the street one night and thought it was the best dinner of our trip.

There are good restaurants nearby and the duck restaurant across the street is awesome.

A nice Peking Duck restaurant across the street.

Holiday Inn Dongzhimen is centrally located at walking distance of Sanlitun, Dongzhimen metro station and Gui Jie food street.

There is also a good peking duck restaurant across the street that was always busy when we ate there.

We were pleased to discover the hotel was also conveniently located with a couple of good noodle shops around the corner, small shops for fresh fruit and bottled water; a good-value Peking Duck restaurant across the street and a French bakery nearby with great tarts, salads, sandwiches, etc.

Excellent Peking duck restaurant across the street with a huge menu in English and  reasonably priced.

Comfortable room, good WiFi, good breakfast.

Most of the desk staff speak English and they were more than helpful and patient with advice and suggestions, including help with internet and phone access.

Hotel is clean and comfortable with good WiFi.

The internet was decent speed, especially for China.

There's free wifi and there's also self-service laundry on site.

Wifi was readily available and the front desk was very helpful.

The wifi is good and you can access google through it.

Rooms are modern, Wifi very fast and all amenities you need at a good rate.

It worked at a decent speed in the pre-dawn hours.

The hotel is 15 to 20 min walk from the Dongzimen subway station and not 10 min unless speed walking is involved.

Step out of the hotel to the left there are just a good couple of meters to go for Tiananmen and the historic area around, to the right is more non-touristic and also a good number of restaurants.

The Wangfujing shopping area is also very close.

but easy walking distance both to the main shopping area and the Forbidden City.

My husband saw workers smoking cigarettes in the area where the washed clothes when he was on his way to the gym to exercise.

They also have a play area for the kids in floor 4 if I am not forget.

The hotel has a great location - right next to Tiananmen square in the Wangfujing area of Beijing.

Reception, hallways and public areas- The reception area is clean

The public areas of this hotel are excellent as was the food and most of the staff.

Fabulous hotel, helpful staff and a great area.

Area is fine, lots of people asking to take you on rides, taxis etc..simply say no.

The location is unbeatable, we could walk to the local malls and shopping area and also to the forbidden city.

The room was divided into 4 areas: a sleeping area, the dressing room, a living room and a bathroom.

Smoking areas well segregated from the non-smoking hotel areas.

I enjoyed this hotel - the location is near the exit to the Forbidden City and down the street from a shopping area.

Just a few blocks from the main shopping area and the Forbidden City.

Forbidden city ten mins away , Wangfujing area 10-15 mins walk the other way .

To overcome this walk a couple of blocks up to the main shopping area or to the metro.

the bathroom only had a curtain as a door.

We had requested an additional bed  to be set up in our room, it was not there so when we asked for it, a very rude, unhappy man showed up at the door, literally throw it down on the floor and the linen was thrown  on top of it for us to try and figure out.

There is no one manning the door and there is no help with luggage

downsides:
- 20 minutes walk to the next metro station
- rooms are shady and run down
- no door between toilett and suite (just a curtain) = NO GO!

The bathroom is somewhat un-intimate as its made of glass and there is only a curtain as a door,

The room was comfortable, the only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't a bathroom door, only a curtain.

I just don't like the door of the toilet beside my bed, because I am distracted by the light from the toilet.

We followed instructions from the hotel website and walked from the nearest metro which took around 20 minutes with bags..However, it has no prominent sign so we nearly walked past until I saw a low key 'K' on the door.

The bathroom had transparent glass walls with no door,

The bathroom is behind a clear and partly frosted glass wall with no door.

If you're traveling with friends or family, be aware that the bathroom does not have a door, and the glass walls are merely closed with a curtain.

The one slightly weird design feature was that the bathroom and toilet has glass walls and no door.

The room garden is also not private because it is facing the one from the room next door.

The only negative was that the bathroom walls were glass, and there was no door.

-Is not close to subway station, need to take bus and cab 
-Is about 10-15mins walk to the Forbidden City entrance where the ticketing office is (there is one door about 5mins walk from hotel, that is not the entrance)
-Tiananmen is probably about 20mins walk;hotel counter has a schedule board of the flag rising and closing ceremony
-Hotel provides booking of private driver to great wall,the price is about the same as most drivers you find in the market so you can render their assistance for convenience

I can walk out the door and see all of the touristy parts of Beijing, if that's what I want to do.

As mentioned not ideal for sharing with a friend as there is no bathroom door, just a curtain.

Bathroom- The bathroom is separated from the bed area by a thick see-through glass wall and pull curtain.

I suggest to enlarge the drinking glasses.

The glass walls on the bathroom are a bit odd,

As mentioned in other reviews there is only a curtain and glass wall separating the bathroom and bedroom so make sure you know each other well.

The bathroom walls were all in glass, which looks really cool until someone needs to use the toilet, because there is no door, only a curtain.

The only thing is the bathroom door, it's glass and has a curtain to close it from outside, it really makes no sense you need someone to close it for you,

although a fully glass walled bathroom and toilet felt a little strange.

but beware there is no door and was glass (with a curtain).

There's a curtain you can pull in front of the glass wall, for some privacy while using the toilet or shower,

Add to this the purple stains from the bottom of wine glasses where kettle (already half full of water) was and you will understand how clean this hotel is.

The front and dividing walls are all glass and there is no door, just a quite large gap.

The bathroom is open plan, meaning that it is surrounded by glass walls and there is no door.

The rooms are clean, they were none smoking

The rooms were clean and very comfortable and we loved the layout of the building.

Everyone understood English and rooms were clean and modern.

The location would be hard tp beat..300m to forbidden palace, 10 min walk to tiannamen square and 5 min walk to main shopping street.

It about 600m away from thé Forbidden City and approx 1 km away from Wangfujing shopping belt.

Location is a stone’s throw away from Wangfujing street, where the shopping district is (Apple store, Prada, Adidas).

It is located close to the Wangfujing station and market where you can shop and eat well.

The location is superb, close to several of the main sights and a 5 minute walk from the amazing Wangfujing street shopping area with a 6 floor mall down one side and the most comprehensive and expansive collection of designer shops you are likely to find anywhere down the other side.

This was our first hotel in Beijing and it has a great location - within walking distance to The Forbidden City and Tianamen Square as well as loads of shopping and restaurants.

Wangfujin street and tian'anmeng east mrt was within walking distance.

The hotel is in a good location with great restaurants on same street and nearby.

It is down the street from the Forbidden City which you can see standing in front of the hotel.

This was a lovely hotel on a fairly quiet street

The bed is comfortable, there are free drinks in the fridge, close to the Forbidden city, across the street from a good restaurant and the staff was nice

There are wonderful little restaurants directly across the street (one appeared to be open 24 hours) and a few little convenience/gift shops nearby.

Walking distance to APM mall, food street as well as forbidden city.

The street is quiet both morning and night (but not dead) that means you will definitely get a good sleep.

Plenty of eating places in the local streets.

In terms of location, immediately down the street is the exit portal to the  Forbidden City.

The APM mall a few blocks down the street has a great variety of restaurants on the 5th and 6th floor which makes it a great spot for vacationers.

The only complaint for me was the breakfast, which was a bit disorganized and lacking a bit; the best thing about the hotel is the location, it’s walking distance to Forbidden City and Snack Street!

The Hotel is near the forbidden city and the wangfujing street, this is the main advantage of this hotel.

It was pretty upsetting as streets in China, especially city centers, are usually very well illuminated and pretty controlled.

The hotel could improve by fixing a shower curtain as the shower water tends to splash to the other part of the toilet.

Air conditioning not working as it’s not summer yet (30 degrees) so we have to open windows onto the smog and noisy streets of Beijing.

The floor to ceiling curtains stunk of smoke and dust as did the entire room.

- no privacy for en-suite toilet (close the curtain and hope for the best).

but a curtain that you can pull across, not ideal if you travel with friends!

but not really a big deal because of the curtains.

The air conditioning didn't work, and opening the window onto the street mean hearing all the horns and loud vehicles from the busy street outside.

I didn't even know that they had rooms with no windows.

There is a curtain that can be drawn across for privacy.

Because of the buidling design, the room was lack of sunlights even I opened the curtains, and my room was the "inner" room, so the window are far away from the building facades.

Well it was "window" in the ceiling as they said

Taxi fare to touristy areas was about 35 Y and the walk to the subway was 10 to 15 minutes, perfect for stretching your legs.

The location is in the residential area, it takes about 20 minutes walk to the nearest subway station and Niu Street where all the Halal eateries.

Hotel is situated in a residential area approx.

The breakfast was a nice quiet dinning area with the best coffee during my trip to China.

2) You can have made-to-order omelet, noodles or even exotic rice cake at breakfast area.

but in a nice area to explore a bit in the evenings to see some of the Beijing locals.

Getting to the SOHO area (Sanlitun) will take you about 45 minutes in the evening and about 20 minutes at night when there’s no traffic.

The room was very large with a little sitting area by the window and plenty of space to spread out.

I suggest to stay at Tianamen area so you could walk around because it is the real "central".

Immaculately clean inside - nice large airy public areas.

but try and you can always get someone in the reception area who can speak good English.

The residents of the area were out walking their dogs.

Would have rated 5 stars if the staff were educated on things in the area.

The gym and fitness area was also more than expected and worked well for us each day to use while there.

There weren’t many Restaurants in the area, and one I found the staff didn’t understand English.

From Tian'anmen, the Forbidden City as well as the gorgeous shopping area South of it are easily accessible.

Area is out of the main tourist areas, in a business district, very quiet no shops etc nearby.

rooms were spotless with tea and coffee facilities which were gratefully recieved., breakfast was lovely with a very varied menu to suit all palates.

I was glad that I took my favourite tea bags and coffee bags with me, as they supplied only a couple of them.

We arrived late night ( 2 persons) so check in was very fast and good, the room is very big with big beds and clean, we find all what you can need ( fridge coffee tea glasses spoon . .)

Staff serve coffee, /tea which is a nice touch.Money exchange machine is available in foyer & atm through breakfast room.

Dining room staff brought out tea or coffee upon request.

Fair breakfast with good service and good coffee made to  order.

but it does have the best coffee we had in China- individually made espressos that almost made up for the lack of sleep due to being hot!

The hotel itself is just great – breakfast is always fresh and offer variety of cuisines, coffee and water to go and cakes.

While we waited the staff brought us coffee and water and then allowed us to check in at the ridiculously early hour of 0700!

but freshly made eggs were good and there was plenty of hot coffee and juices.Well located in the city.

but few of the staff spoke good enough English to understand our order of tea to accompany our breakfast.

While the reception staff were attentive the coffee shop staff were hesitant to serve us until we stood there for a considerable length of time.
