Breakfasts were delicious and our room was very nice and comfortable.

Breakfast amazing and so much choice would definitely recommend and would go back again.

Their level of personal service was second to none - meticulously prepared breakfast (lots of options) got us going and ready to walk up crags and around lakes - the views were awesome over Derwent Water, and we spent a moving hour at the ancient stone circle, surrounded by ewes.

Lovely welcoming hosts, great choice for English breakfast - the fruit was also exceptional.

This lovely B&B is situated just a mile walk away from the town centre , conveniently located so that you can walk the route of the old Keswick trainline, which our dog loved.

I’ve stayed at Laurel B&B twice now and it’s my go to when I visit Keswick. It’s less than a mile to Keswick town centre, it’s very close to trails for walks and Gary and Sue were more than happy for our furry friend to stay too (there’s one dog friendly room!)

The location of Laurel Bank Guest House, was really good, within a walking distance to the town centre in Keswick.

10 minute walk into the centre of Keswick is picturesque.

Fabulous, traditional bed and breakfast in a great location, just a mile into the centre of Keswick.

Laurel Bank is also very close to Keswick town centre, Castlerigg Stone Circle and there is a bus stop a minute away from the front door.

Ideal location for town centre, with parking.

It’s around a 15 min walk into the centre of Keswick and if you use the footpath / old railway line it’s lovely (and safe).

The location was perfect for us, a short walk into the centre and close to the converted railway line to get straight on to the fells (Latrigg, Skiddaw, Blencathra), and it's just 1km from the Castlerigg Stone Circle.

Less then 15 minutes walk down the old train line trail to the center of Keswick.

the town centre is 15 mins away down the old railway line, we did it in the day and night - your eyes soon adjust

It was easy to find and close to Keswick town center.

Laurel Bank is a super little guest house with secure parking and in walking distance of the centre of Keswick.

Lovely walk into town centre with Gary's directions and recommendations on where to eat.

Great breakfast in the morning, room was spotless and the location was ideal (being a short walk away from Keswick town centre).

Gary provided us with the necessary information and Maps and this meant that our walk around Derwent Water, to Latrrig peak, to the Castlerigg Stones, drives to Honicker pass and Buttermere and back, to Ambleside and Grasmere and back, were all completed without a hitch.

Driving the back roads was almost magical!

We were given lots of helpful local information with regard to restaurants, drives and walks in the area.

Very short driving distance from Keswick.

The owners gave us the ins and outs of Keswick including great recommendations for a drive on one of those iffy weather days and a better way to enjoy the hike up Cat's Bell.

It is easy to spot as you drive down the Penrith Road, and they have ample private parking to the rear of the house.

We were greeted by Sue and she made us a lovely pot of coffee much needed after a 7 hour drive from Wales.

After a rather long drive that was most welcome and Sue also brought a couple of homemade goodies to accompany the tea.

We stayed here over a weekend for 2 nights and after a long drive from London it was such a lovely welcome, friendly and inviting - we was shown to our room and as we hadnt been before was given all the information about the local area and bars to try!

The location is a pleasant 15 minute walk into the center of Keswick, easy to find on the drive in and also handy for the nearby Castlerigg stone circle attraction.

Our room was exceptionally clean and I greatly appreciated the pot of tea Sue made us after landing in Edinburgh and driving to Laurel Bank!

Laurel Bank is situated near to Keswick town centre (25 min walk) or 5 min drive, taxis are £3 which is cheaper than parking in the centre of the town.

We were booked in for dinner at The Pheasant which was excellent and a 3 minute drive away.

but we opted to visit a couple of the local hotels which were a short drive out of the village, and had dinner there instead.

Had some great food at a pub called the white horse in Scales, just a short 5 minute drive from the accommodation 
Very happy to recommend this B&B and we would definitely stay here again should we come to Keswick, thankyou Sue and Gary for a great stay, Clare, Rob,Ruby & 'Fred (!!)' 😊

Gary the owner even offered to drive us into town on the evening, what a star, above and beyond 😊.

They even, as we were driving out of their private parking, came out to the road to wave us out .

We'd  booked a  meal at the Lakes  Bar and Bistro, our driver dropped  us all off and was going to walk back

Can we just say a big thankyou to Gary and Sue for being so accommodating from allowing us to check in early so we could change in time for the wedding to Gary very kindly offering to drive us to the wedding venue.

Our rooms where small and functional with en suite facilities

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because there was only a few hangers to hang your coats, no chest of draws or wardrobe, the room was small so that is proberly why.

The "in suite" was carved out a tiny room making it smaller  still.

Our only gripe was the fact the shower cubicle in the onsuite bedroom was very small.

Laurel Bank is well located for an easy walk into town and has parking on site.

It’s in the perfect location to walk into the town didn’t need to use our car whilst we where here could walk to everything we wanted to do.

Since it is an easy 15-minute walk into town parking is free and secure at the B&B.

We just wanted a couple of nights in a B&B in Keswick and to be able to walk into town to eat out in the evening.

Nice walk to town on foot/cycle path, especially for furry friends.

Nice location with easy access into the Town via the old railway line footpath. 👌

I highly recommend this place to stay for the excellent location to the town, lake and all of the walks virtually on the doorstep.

Enjoyed walk along the old Thelkeld/Keswick railway line, a pleasant 15 minute stroll into the heart of town.

It was a great location to some many beautiful towns.

The accommodation is situated near the old railway walking path which is a beautiful walk into the town.

This made the trip into town peaceful and very pretty as we explored the city's gardens.

Gary kindly explained the shortcut into town which is a pleasant and safe footpath that runs along the old railway track and straight into town.

Really lovely B&B very friendly and helpful owners and staff, very clean and comfortable rooms - wonderful breakfast served between 8am & 9am in a very nice restaurant room .

Ivan and Holly are both wonderful hosts, who are extremely knowledgeable about the local area (and provide delicious breakfasts to boot!).

They also prepare a great breakfast with a variety of hot and cold options .

Excellent location, wonderful breakfast options and comfortable beds with views to die for.

The breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice, both continental and cooked options.

The room was spacious including the ensuite bathroom, they also have a good range of hot and cold food and drink options for breakfast.

Cold breakfast also included soya yogurts, fruit smoothies, cereals, fruit salad… etc.

Breakfast at the Lakehouse always hit the spot with both cereals/fruit/yoghurt/pastries etc, cooked breakfasts and plenty of coffee.

We had a really lovely time at the Lakeside House, the room was beautiful and the views terrific,  breakfast was great, the hosts were really welcoming, helpful and friendly, they could inform us about things of interest in the local area., the place was spotless and beautiful shower and body lotion was supplied, limitless tea and coffee was available to top up with, and a fridge to keep our wine cilled, Thank you we will definitely return.

Our room (as I'm sure all the others were) was spacious, well lit, clean and impeccably decorated and modern in a lovely classic building. The breakfast in the morning was just second to none, fresh ingredients and something for everybody (even an extra sausage from Kevin the dog!)

Superb location in Keswick and everything from the accommodation to the breakfast is to an impressively high standard.

This B&B hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance of the town centre and is right next to Crow Park and Derwentwater.

Lakeside House is a very spacious, conveniently located property within a very short walk of Derwentwater, the centre of Keswick and the bus station all of which makes it a great place to stay.

Location is excellent, right on the walking path between Keswick town center and Derwentwater, so we were able to walk downtown for dinner, and to the marina to rent a rowboat.

It is located about 100 yards from Hope Gardens, an idyllic spot of beauty and, beyond that another 100 yards is Derwentwater.

The location is close to the park, Theatre by The Lake and Derwentwater itself.

The location, a short walk to either central Keswick or Lake Derwentwater, was perfect.

Lakeside House was in the best possible location to be as close to all the action for registration and race day being about 4 minutes walk from Theatre by The Lake (so also great for a theatre trip and access to Derwentwater steamers and boats).

Great stay at a lovely b&b near to both the town and the beautiful Derwentwater.

We did the 10 mile walk round Derwentwater followed by dinner in a cute restaurant close by.

Although this is situated next to hope park you hear absolutely nothing and can enjoy a good nights sleep in the most comfortable bed ever.

Managed to get parking nearby each day and it was so easy to walk into Hope Park right outside, town for food or to the lake. Breakfast was also great (although a continental pastry wouldn't have gone admiss as a holiday treat!)

Once again we weren’t disappointed in staying at this beautiful B&B, this is by far the best place to stay in Keswick, great staff,  excellent breakfast, the rooms are probably the most comfortable you’ll ever find, fantastic views of Hope park and 2 minutes to the Center of Keswick, where you’ll find plenty bars and restaurants.

We were in Room 9 which was really big, has a separate seating area and views out over Hope Park.

but as close as you could get near Hope Park and 5 minute walk to busy centre.

What a quaint village with everything you would need for a week away - and the trails to the lake past the Hope Park gardens were right off the front steps of this wonderful guest house!

Once again our rooms were spotlessly clean, the Love The Lakes toiletries are just part of the personal touch and our views over towards Hope Park and Catbells in the distance would be difficult to match.

We stayed in room 8 which is on the 2nd floor and overlooks the golf course, Hope Park and the fells.

It is ideally located across from Hope park and just a short walk into Keswick.

On my first solo trip to Keswick from America, I was entirely enchanted with not only the stunning view of Hope Park that greeted me with sunshine glimmering from the bay windows even in November,

Our room was opposite the Hope Park pitch and putt with terrific views of the hills behind.

Lakeside House is also a wonderful base for exploring Keswick, being a few minutes walk into the heart of the town and a few minutes walk through Hope park to Derwentwater – you really couldn’t ask for a better location.

We were in room 16 on the third floor with beautiful   views over Hope Park.

We had a top-floor room, with a georgeous view of Hope Park.

Close to Hope Park which is lovely & a nice walk down to the lake bank where you can catch a boat trip around the lake.

Town centre with shops, cafes, restaurants was minutes walk away and Hope Park with its beautiful gardens and walks to Derwent Water was on the doorstep.

The hotel is in a great location, very easy to get in to town and only a couple of minutes walk from Hope Park and the lake.

The location is fabulous, just 5 mins walk into Keswick town centre and opposite the very nice Hope Park.

Gorgeous views of Catbells and Hope Park from all the rooms I've stayed in.

It has to be noted the bathroom was small,

although the bathroom was quite small the shower was stonkingly good!

The only observation is the bathroom is a little small

Negatives: paid more than we planned and went for Superior room, felt the room was small and bathroom, while modern was very small, my husband burned his elbow on radiator every time he brushed his teeth.

but nicely decked out, however the bed was in the way of the door and the bathroom was awkward with small sink, but had a great shower.

but that's being über critical and it's not a real criticism but we both felt it was a small shower room but again beautifully fitted out.

Due to the lack of space, there was no chair in his room and in the tiny bathroom, the sink was so small, he kept banging his head on the tap and shelf.

We tried a few years ago to stay at Lakeside and take in a Christmas show at Theatre by the Lake (TBTL).

It is a short walk to downtown Keswick with all the shops and restaurants, as well as down to the lake and Theatre by the Lake.

Theatre by the Lake is also a short walk from the B & B.

Fantastic location, just a couple of minutes from the town centre, Derwent Water & the Theatre by the Lake.

Also in close proximity is the Theatre by the Lake (for which we had tickets to see a show).

Also, so central for exploring Keswick - 5 minutes walk from our favourite restaurant, 10 minutes from Theatre by the Lake and 10 minutes walk into town centre.

And if you want a walk - it takes about four minutes to reach the lake and the theatre by the lake and beyond to a lovely walk.

Closest B&B to Theatre by the Lake, and surely the best : spotlessly clean, very warm throughout, very tasteful decor, original and imaginative breakfast menu, outstanding attention to detail in every respect, charming hosts and staff.

We had a meal at a Restaurant recommended by staff, walked to Friars Crag with evening views of Derwent Water and the surrounding fells, went to see a play at the Theatre by the Lake, excellent.

It certainly the closest guest house to the Theatre by the Lake and the Lake Itself (around five minutes).

We were given a free parking permit, for one of the 2 car parks, the Town Car park/ or the Theatre By the Lake car park.

It was also very near to the Theatre by the Lake, so very convenient to walk along to an evening performance.

The location of Lakeside House is excellent, just a short stroll from the 'promenade' to the lake, Theatre by The Lake and just a few minutes from the town centre with all it's pubs, restaurants, shops.

The pubs and restaurants of Keswick are only a short walk away, as is Derwent Water, and the Theatre by the Lake.

The location of the hotel is superb, being a stone's through from the restaurants in the town, the shops, the lake and the Theatre by the lake.

We were supplied with a fan and left the window open as much as possible,

Unfortunately there was an air conditioning unit out side the kitchen which went on & off all night and had a very loud rattle.

We we’re changed room because we had a kitchen extractor fan outside our bedroom window which was going on all night.

Rooms aren't well ventilated and get stuffy at night even with the window open.

On entering it appeared drab and we wondered if the heating had been off for a few days.

We had to have the window open as there’s no air conditioning.

but unfortunately because it had no air con we needed the window open because it’s summer, consequently all the flies came in …. Ugh!

The window frames, both inside and out and radiators and walls were showing chipped and peeling paint.

However, the solution was easy, I turned the Radiator off and we never needed to turn it on again.

Heating could be a problem in very cold weather as small radiator in a room with large window and high ceiling.

There was rust down the radiator and skirting boards missing with a very old door.

Only niggle was that they have put a roller blind and no curtains in the room, this is both not effective and aesthetically poor, the room does not look finished without curtains.

however was a total shock and disgrace there was barely four feet square to use and you certainly could not fully open the door because of the radiator on the inside wall.

Apparently this was not good enough and she returned to the desk to complain about the possibility of tripping over the leads and took offence at the logical suggestion that she placed the fans on the dressing table.

We immediately rang to reception and they provided 2 fans which circulated hot air and due to the lack of sockets were plugged in within our walk way, so if we got up for the toilet we would trip over the lead, apparently that would be my fault cos I'd requested a fan!! £194!!.

Air con would have been nice as room was a little warm although there were 3 sash windows in room

The bar areas and dining room were very clean and comfortable.

Public ares clean with large bar area with comfy seating , drink prices very reasonable given it’s a hotel and certainly much cheaper then bars in Keswick itself .

The hotel is very clean and welcoming with a lovely spacious bar area.

The Bar area is recently updated and it very comfy in a contemporary style.

although the floor had a big slope which could be challenging going to the bathroom in the dark😂

An old lovely looking building reveals a lovely bar area and dining room overlooking the hotels well maintained gardens.

We were told that are room was ready & all the information we required, then went for afternoon tea in the bar area that was very pleasant.

The service is exceptional throughout the hotel - special mention for Sophie on reception, the food in the restaurant is first class and the bar area is very relaxing and comfortable.

The positive side to the hotel is that the staff are mostly very helpful (even finding me a charger to ‘reset’ my toothbrush) and the food was good, with hot and cold items for breakfast,

but what a lovely atmosphere, the lovely lady from Hungary who helped us with breakfast was so very lovely.

Breakfasts were sumptuous and had an adequate variety of offerings.

Breakfast was buffet style, plentiful and served in a lovely restaurant overlooking gardens .

The dinner was of a good standard as was the breakfast.
