The room was generally dark even the corridor despite having on all the lights On room.

But then you go to use the bathroom and toilet - it's very dark and suddenly the funky lighting doesn't work in your favour.

and the light of room was so dark and opened window was so narrow.

The hotel theme is modern, albeit a bit dark in places.

but light still comes through and around these so if (like me) you like a completely dark room you will notice this.

buttons, hot/warm lighting, and combinations (if you arrive tired and it’s too frustrating, remove the key card and it goes dark).

but lighting made the halls and room quite dark.

Decor was dark and corridors were unsettling as they are so dark.

Interior deco is a little dark, like a night club.

although I did find the lighting a little dark in the room.

My only complaints are the shower has a small glass partition that gets water all over the floor and the room can be a bit dark.

We booked a standard double room and it was a bit dark as the hotel is a high-rise building and there is not much natural light

The only let down was how dark the rooms were and sometimes the room smelt unpleasant.

Decor is minimalist and contemporary in neutral, dark colors.

All the reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable , they really made the stay enjoyable….

When we arrived we were greeted by an extremely helpful member of staff whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch.

Can’t thank him enough for being so accommodating and kind!

On one hand, the reception staff did not seem genuinely concerned about customer needs, even when suitable rooms were available.

Staff were great, both at the front desk (Roberto was exceptionally helpful) and in the breakfast area.

Clean, air conditioned, friendly, helpful, professional staff.

Centrally located, with helpful and attentive staff (especially Robert) the bed was comfortable, the room spacious and the air condition unit worked really well.

The location was excellent - a short walk both to the Ramblas and to the Magic Fountain - we walked everywhere and had no problem.

As dusk was approaching we walked to the Magic Fountain for our last night and it was amazing.

I personally tried temporarily closing the window tightly, and I felt a significant reduction in the noise.

The sound insulation of the windows facing to the street was not good enough.

Heavy traffic makes the room a bit noisy with thin windows.

The door in the balcony did not seal well and street noise was quite loud at times.

but it had a pane of glass that extended across about 1/3 of the tub length.)

but has powered blinds that can be closed with the touch of a button.

The only thing to complain about is that you can not turn off the lights themselves in the window which are switched on and off automatically.

Your privacy is furthermore respected and noise from the streets is filtered by soundproof windows.

The very cool miniblinds in the windows don't work--permanently.

Only things that would make this hotel the best would be to put blinds or a curtain on the shower glass wall, as in the bedroom you can see straight into the shower, as there is no privacy which wasn’t the best.

Also noted in other reviews, it was a bit irritating not being able to amend the blinds between the window panes.

The only downside is that it’s on a very busy road so quite noisy at night time.

Our room was on the 7th floor and overlooked the roundabout, which was quite noisy

The location is noisy, traffic and dustman in the early hours.

but the surrounds aren't, so the noise still comes in.

As it turned out, this worked to our advantage because the garden view room was extremely quiet at night whereas the city view room would likely have been somewhat noisy.

Only downside - no English speaking tv channels and i do like to have some for background noise.

Busy area - light sleepers may need earplugs to block out the early morning street cleaning noise -

On the street side of the hotel, there can be some noise from traffic, while the back side is very quiet.

A lot of road works going on all over Barcelona when we travelled and although we where on the 6th floor it was very noisy from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm even on the Sunday so sleep was poor

No bar or hall area, a bit noisy for rooms above the street.

One minor problem is that when metro passes through, you can feel the vibration

Traffic noise isn’t as bad as people make out.

but the second room, though on the 6th floor, was just as noisy.

If you want a quiet room, choose one that does not look out over the Gran Via.

The only let down was the noise from outside - I get the location

Sometimes we could hear the noise of the underground passing under the hotel.

There is a LOT of noise from the metro and the road, as well as from the hall and elevator.

The only down side was my room was near the road so I could hear the traffic at night,

Staff were very friendly and helpful and hotel was always kept clean and tidy.

Ask for Sandra and Tejazvi as they are probably the best of the staff this hotel has (we interacted with others that were not helpful).

We enjoyed a few drinks on the terrace each night - the bar staff were all very friendly.

Lastly all the staff we encountered on our trip were lovely and always ready to help 10/10 trip.

The receptionists who met us upon our arrival were super efficient and even gave great tips about Barcelona.

I just stayed one night at B hotel, I have to say the staff was very friendly, they allowed us early check in, and had a good attitude in general.

I was instructed to contact the hotel again for compensation because "the lady with authority" was allegedly absent during check-out.

Great service with staff who were only too happy to help.

The staff even surprised us by leaving a tray of cheesecake and berries and a bottle of champagne on ice in our room on the afternoon of my husband's birthday - we had never told them we were celebrating it and can only assume they noticed the date on his passport when we checked in.

Marianne at the front desk was very friendly and sweet, she helped me with several things.

Great location very close to the Magic Fountain and about 20 minute walk from
 La Rambla.

It is also less than a 5 minute walk from a metro station, and just a little further the Magic Fountain is Montjuïc, which we visited multiple times during our stay for such a special experience.

We found lots of available public transport even on Christmas Day. Quick walk to the Magic Fountain and lovely central sqare with its fountain lit up at night.Our rooms were  well appointed, lovely bathroom, individual lighting, very comfortable mattress, variety of pillows, toiletries, mini fridge( which we asked to be emptied to store our own goodies bought in the local supermarket.)

I would thoroughly recommend the B Hotel to anyone vising Barcelona and in addition it is in a great location being near the shopping centre and the Magic Fountain

We enjoyed the 15-20min to Las Ramblas, and the Magic Fountain is a short walk away too.

Location is great- so much around to see and do inc the magic fountain, Olympic Park and easy metro ride to the beach and gothic quarter. We requested a city view and were able to access our room from 3pm ( we could’ve had a courtyard facing one earlier

Hotel is also close to the Montjunc attractions such as the MNAC, the Magic Fountain, Poble Espanyol, and the funicular up Montjunc.

Location is perfect right next to a metro stop, Olympic stadium and the magic fountain.

It is also 15 min brisk walk to the Magic Fountain and the Palace.

It is a 5 minute walk from the Magic fountain

The staff are lovely and it is very near to The National Art Gallery and The Magic Fountain display which is so amazing.

Near the Magic Fountain, a restaurant and shopping complex and over looks the Placa D'Espanya, which makes for beautiful views and a good range of places to go right by the hotel.

There is also Las Arenas mall right next door and Montjuic and the Magic Fountain are just a quick walk away.

The hotel is in a fantastic location next to the Bullring shopping centre and the magic fountain.

It was not until the following morning when we asked if the hotel had any tourist information that we where offered a small map only then did we realise that we practically opposite the Barcelona museum of art and the Magic fountain of Montjuic it is also only a few minuits in a taxi to La Rambla, Passeig de Gracia or the Sagrada Familia plus many more beautiful sights.

Hotel situated on plaza  espanya so plenty of shops and restaurants on your doorstep, as well as the magic fountain show.

Our room was OK, the safe was shocking a hole in the wall and advice on leaving valuables in reception is not what you want to hear the moment you arrive, and the curtain across a rail as a make shift wardrobe needs to be improved.

but modern, with a few weird quirks to figure out for lights and shower (the shower is transparent but there is switch by the sink to close the blinds and maintain your dignity)!

The room was great and it didn't take too long to figure out the remote lights and blinds.

but either at the bed or at then entrance to the room and to close the blinds between the batch and living are you need to find buttons above the sink
BREAKFAST - good selection of fruits, cereals, breads, pastries and a few hot items.

but cosy with a HUGE comfy bed - the bathroom did have a window with a blind that we couldn't figure out but it faced out to the side of the room so wasnt a big deal.

We eventually figured out that the controls to shut the blinds for it are by the bathroom mirror.

No matter what country you are in, you are generally able to work out how to operate light switches, faucets, blinds, etc.

but due to the street right in front it is a bit noisy even with closed windows.

There was a venetian blind in the window, But how to close it?

The window between the sleeping room and the bathroom was a little weird.

The only minus is no view from the window as all of them covered by big facade jalousie(

There’s a few things missing for top ranking in my opinion;
- Rooms facing the street are very loud even with windows closed.

which closed blinds, turned on/off lights, got the shower on/off.

but have electronic blinds you can adjust for privacy.

Took a while to work out the electric blinds in the shower and the inner toilet door didnt close properly,

and the glass wall between the bath/bed might be slightly disconcerting if you were sharing (but it does have a blind!)

The bathroom wall is made of glass, and you can open the blinds for extra light or close them for privacy.

One strange touch in the room was the motorized Venetian blinds between the shower and the rest of the room.

The room was very small and noisy at night which made it hard to sleep.

Our room had one tiny window so would get very stuff and was of course always dark.

We stayed here at Easter for 4 nights and found that the room was very small.

The other was because I was given a smoking room and I am allergic to smoke.

She just shrugged us off and said they all knew each other and then said she will go back out and be with her ‘friends’ to really demonstrate her lack of care and actually went out to smoke another cigarette with this creep.

(Drain was smelly, blocked and shower not working).

My bottle of perfume was broken during room/ bathroom cleaning.

Arrived at the hotel late with 6 friends check in was fine arrived to our Room on the 4 th floor opened the door and there was a horrible sewage smell went straight back to reception to inform them they said they would send someone to inspect it in the morning once inspected they said there wasn’t a problem

You can hear more when they drain the sewers in the next room or higher.

Old and musty and god knows how long since they had been cleaned.

Rooms were nice and needed so touch ups like paint and mold between the shower tiles

There is absolutely no view except old buildings falling apart, there is a street right under your terrace where men gather during the night, smoke, have some kind of parties and keep you awake all night long!

The only down irritation was that the bathroom extractor fan seem to smell of tobacco smoke, i can only assume that someone was smoking in one of the other rooms and it was passing through the air ducts and out of the extractor fan.

La Rambla is loud, smelly, and dangerous at night.

Only had a shower in it and had to be extremely care not to touch the crossbar where the facets were because it was so hot you could get burned.

There are some weird smells here and there

There was a nasty smell in our room, in the corridors and sometimes in reception (an eggy drain type smell).

but don’t expect tea making facilities and there was an unpleasant smell in the corridors!

The room was kept clean and all hotel staff were friendly.

Pre arrival emails to hotel with questions were answered promptly (within 12 hours).

The staff were also super helpful and we really appreciated the takeaway breakfast that they put together for us when we had to leave really early for the airport.

The staff at Arc La Rambla are professional and courteous and also very helpful with the tourist side of things.

Nice staff, especially Christina who very attentive a helpful.

but the front desk staffer told us to ignore Google routes on the Metro and busses.

While waiting for 20+ minutes at reception I wasn’t even acknowledged

He argued and argued with me for 5-10 minutes.

Our check in was spoiled by a very harassed receptionist who forgot to say "Hello and Welcome" and snapped at us when we offered our booking reference to help him.

There is an employee at the reception named Edvin who is very helpful, if you are lucky check in when it is his shift……….

the breakfast is plentiful and a lot of variety: do NOT eat/drink on La Rambla centre pavement, 6€ for coffee BUT inside restaurants 2€ , this is because they pay a premium to use the centre pavement and pass on cost to tourists; The staff at Hotel Arc are very helpful & friendly, especially Edvin & Leonardo who both went above & beyond in assisting us, we are very grateful; The Barceloneta Beach is 10 min walk to right of hotel, just across from Christopher Columbus statue.

We cannot praise the reception staff enough they were so helpful and really put themselves out to help.

Staff at front desk were always very helpful and friendly.

The hotel had a fantastic nice staff, always someone at the reception and they were all helpful, we had access to a delicious breakfast at a reasonable extra cost, a nice large room and a perfect location.

The receptionists were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.

Once you get to your door, it would be best if you were a football player and you knew how to hit the door like a football tackling sled because you REALLY need to push that door with some strength!.

At least 2 of the doors did not latch as the guests entered or exited their room.

but oddly the shower and sink was in the main room (separated by a curtain from the bed area) with just the toilet closed off with a door like a cloakroom.

Meeting rooms smelled musty and smoky and the bathroom doors in the conference space were so dark and confusing.

Intentionally removed the “Do Not Disturbed “ sign so that our room will be freshened up when we come back in the evening after our day out 

However , upon our return , a “ Do Not Disturbed “ sign was hanged outside our door which was never there when we left .

Another lady comes by later and stands outside the door giving  me a bunch of towels and plastic bag of toiletries.

The room doors where hidden which made it hard to locate the room

The security guard of hotel present was inside the hotel doors and had no clue what happened so why did the hotel employed him in first place as a mannequin ? 2.

This is not a hotel that you want if you’d prefer to have the old city outside your door.

The walls and doors masking the shower are smoked or partly mirrored glass.

The doors to the bathroom are all glass so privacy could be an issue.

One odd thing, the lights are powered by placing a card in the card holder by the door,

The rooms had few technical issues (Shower door, AC..)

Room service came once when I was in the room and as soon as I opened the door she took the do not disturb sign and hung it outside for reasons I do not know.

Quite a task to open your room door as no handle and the tropical plant theme is emanated  on the corridor walls making it difficult to see where your room door is - also a very clever concept too!

Also i pointed our graffiti outside the fron door that was very vulgar and her response is “it’s not our property”.

Note: if you planning to take photo behind the elevator, make sure to hold the door because its emergency door therefore you cant open it from outside.

Loved the architecture of the building, breakfast was amazing, the staff friendly and helpful.

As it was a special occasion, we reached out to numerous hotel staff to arrange things,

I will say that the staff was great and the breakfast was very good.

The staff were friendly and the gentleman on reception really took time and care into explaining about the hotel and places to visit and best restaurants to eat at in the city.

The hotel was clean and the staff was attentive.

Amazing Hotel and Staff especially the security guard ( slim guy, sorry do not remember his name ), sweet polite, helpful, attentive to what is happening in the Lobby.
