The location of this hotel is great - walking distance to beach, on the edge of the Gothic district, close to Picasso museum, Barcelona cathedral, walking distance to La Sagrada (longer walk),  close to Metro trains and tons of shopping,  bars and restaurants.

(P.S have a wander round Barcelona Cathedral at night, we stumbled upon a fab free opera show and a gymnast performing with a hoop)

We did all the usual sights, Camp Nou, Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, Montjuic, Barcelona Cathedral,Parc de la Cuitadella and even the Zoo!

Thr rooftop bar/restaurant has good views of the port and the Gothic Quarter/El Born/Barcelona Cathedral are just behind the hotel.

It was our 2nd stay in this hotel, nice location close to the old port, beach area, La Rambla, Barcelona Cathedral & Square, very clean, stuff was very nice, breakfast was OK, very nice upper terrace !

Our pool was closed due to construction which was a bummer

but during the morning the construction site next door started drilling which was too much noise for us.

However, you can hear your neighbors talking etc and the construction noise was insane (8am-8pm).

We had 2 rooms on the 2nd floor both right above the construction work and one of them also beside a room being renovate.

17 JAN 2017  I spent a night in a HOTEL that not only had construction going until the evening, the alley along the HOTEL had young adults loitering outside !!!

One caveat – there was construction noise from the adjacent property during limited mid-day hours on certain days,

Tons of construction noise while we were there.

We were never notified of noisy internal construction, nor was an apology issued. 3.

Our only issue was that they were doing construction on the room below which was noisy.

There appeared to be ongoing construction which got started at 9 am.

Unfortunately there was construction taking place which we were not warned about, so there was quite a lot of noise from drilling and banging during the day.

The hotel is in a fabulous location for restaurants and attractions.

Service is 5 stars, hotel is 4.5 stars, rooftop bar 5 stars, location 6 stars.

It is well located across from the harbour, it is clean, has lovely and large rooms, had a king size comfortable bed with good pillows and nice linens, and we fully recommend it.

The hotel is in a lovely position near to Port Vell and there are many good restaurants nearby.

The location is fine with a terrific roof top bar overlooking the harbor.

Everything from the wonderful location, cleanliness and above average customer service!

The hotel is in a well maintained old heritage building, in a perfect location between the gothic quarter and the water front/beaches.

Fantastic location easy walking distance to beach and city locations.

Its located in Barri Gotic and close to our favourite district El Born.

Not only is this hotel in a wonderful location, it was exceptionally clean and very well run.

All that plus an excellent location, good rooms that can also accommodate a family, etc.

However, I need to take care of my car ( yes, the street in front of the hotel is quite busy and no parking space in the hotel).

Finally, if you had a car and needed somewhere to park, it wouldn’t be next to the hotel.

Also the parking for the car was just on the other side of the street.

It was full when we arrived so we had to park down by port olympic which had pre paid rates for 5 days for 60 Euro.

The hotel does not provide parking. But there is a parking lot across the street (not cheap.)

(We were parked illegally outside and the soldier next door gave us only a few min to drop off our stuff).

Parking is an issue: The hotel is located at a busy road and does not offer any parking facilities.

And don't forget to book a carpark lot just in front / Si vous venez en voiture réservez en ligne à l'avance votre place de parking : entrée en face de l'hôtel, compter 25 euros pour 24 heures, ce qui est, au vu des pratiques barcelonaises, tout à fait acceptable.

There is only one negative thing to say and that is that parking infront of the hotel is imposible.

I parked the car and returned to the hotel on foot.

Parking is very difficult and very expensive.

Although there was no parking, the car park was just over the road, and after finding the entrance !!

Parking is a nightmare so don't stay here if you are coming by car! !

Only downside was no parking so the public car park cost a bit!

but all parking in Barcelona is expensive).

The room was clean, bigger than expected, there was champagne waiting for us.

Excellent hotel,very friendly and welcoming, good for the city, Beach or for relaxing on the rooftop, rooms are excellent, lovely breakfast, staff very friendly and attentive, nothing is a problem.

The rooms are comfortable and well appointed.

The Premium room was spacious and was ideal for us .

Our room was extremely comfortable and the breakfasts were very good.

They informed us it had arrived and placed it in our room!

As far as arriving and departing, we were able to leave our bags with the concierge when we arrived far too early to check in.

Staff was always at hand to help with luggage , hail a taxi , help with getting around the city !

The reception staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel is great particularly the staff.

We were so warmly greeted by Emilio and during our four days stay, he was a continual resource.

Breakfast was delightful- both attendants were wonderfully helpful.

The reception team are exceptional, especially Enrico, who went above and beyond to make our stay an absolute pleasure.

Immediately on arrival, we were welcomed by Ruben and Mar.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, always happy.

Large clean rooms, quiet property, beautiful rooftop and wonderful views I cannot say enough good things about this Hotel and its staff.

We had drinks and dinner on the rooftop, enjoying the beautiful views of the Barcelona harbor.

The rooftop bar and dipping pools are amazing with sweeping views of the yacht harbor, ocean in distance, gondolas, etc.

The roof terrace/pool and bar area had great views over the marina definitely worth a visit.

The hotel is clean, located in a very convenient location, you have a great view to the harbor and La Rambla is just a block or two away.

The location was all ready walk to the sea and Gothic quarter!Quarter!!

The hotel staff were excellent, the hotel food was excellent, the hotel itself was excellent and very nice and clean, the hotel rooftop bar was an excellent touch with a great view.

This time we got room no 11 with a nice view to the harbour,

Our waterfront facing room had double pane windows so very quiet at night, even with fun loving groups walking by at all hours.

Walls thin and the noise really travels so if you like real peace and quiet to sleep you may struggle.

The only slight criticism would be the rather thin walls! !

This room also has stains on the wall that I think that should be either painted or cleaned.

Our room could have been a little cleaner as there was a lot of dust that had settled on the walls.

Only downfall is the walls are VERY thin you can hear the neighbours do everything

Unfortunately, it has the thinnest walls you can imagine.

The walls are also paper thin and you can hear everything in the hallways and voices from surrounding rooms.

However, my only dislike was the that wall between our room and the one next door seemed to be too thin and the room was not soundproof enough to shut out the activities of the night outside as well as our neighbours.

Being on the first floor, the walls reached all the way up to the roof terrace, whcih meant natural light was very scarce.

There were three of us and the room was perfect as it had one king bed and two single beds against the opposite wall so noone had to snore in each others faces :)  The quality of the finishes everywhere was very high.

I think the rooms had been renovated last year and the hotel is in fact an old 'palace' which is brilliant as the walls and floors are really solid so no noise at all from other rooms!

There were some stains on the walls near the entrance of the room from drink spills and the wall socket next to the bed was loose.

They mentioned in the room description that window is looking at yard, in the reality it was a tube inside (in the center) the building 1.5 by 1,5 meters and you can only see the sky and rooms of your neiborhoods in the three other walls.

Rooms are relatively small and depressing due to the color of the walls.

We had a Junior Suite which is really two rooms combined with the wall removed.

I had a view of the Barcelona Cathedral and wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel for my next visit to Barcelona.

Ideally located in the Gothic quarter/ Barrio Gòtic - literally 200m from the Barcelona Cathedral of which you have a perfect view from the beautiful rooftop bar/pool area.

Location is great…in gothic quarter close to Barcelona Cathedral (which makes it easier to find).

but worth it) and terrific location near the Barcelona Cathedral were among the many reasons we would highly recommend this hotel.

Well located in the Gothic Quarter, this hotel has a terrific roof desk and pool with views of Barcelona Cathedral at one end and the Sagrada Familia at the other.

The H10 Madison was in the perfect location to be close to all major attractions and the beach.

Very convenient location for many sights, especially for walking around the Gothic Quarter.

This hotel is located in the old town area which is really beautiful.

This is one of several in Barcelona and a terrific location near Metro, Las Ramblas (but not close enough for its noise), and winding streets leading to   larger plazas with sightseeing and shopping.

I asked to talk to a manager and the front desk lady simply said the manager is not there and pretended to call someone and said that they were going to charge me more money for nights not spent . Ridiculous!

but our timing was too tight so we decided to get tested at the airport which was super inconvenient, took two hours and many other passengers probably missed their flight due to the poor management and us not having booked a prior appointment online.

but a staffing  level issue that management is responsible to address.

The manager has been just repeating excuses from him even if his terrible lie which even elementary school kids cannot believe was logically failed.

I would imagine their management team will comment on this denying not offering assistance or saying it was out of their control.

We then had a long wait and kept asking where our order was  At 9.45 after an hour we cancelled the order and walked out.The Restaurant Manager came chasing after us with the order

However, after I reported this issue to the hotel, I was contacted by the front desk manager, Rodolphe Pottier, who was extremely kind and accommodating, assuring me the employee at issue had been made aware of the issue and that they were working to improve the service.

The manager told me they have cleared the broken glasses

Much better for every one - this was not the fault of the kitchen staff - no it is a management problem.

I thought it would be loud at night as we were only second floor

but when the doors outside our room closed, it was loud enough to make us both jump every time.

I’m giving this hotel a low rating because somehow between h10 and agoda there was a bait and switch where the cathedral room turned out to be a loud room on the first floor with a view of a garbage dumpster that was unloaded by a very large and loud garbage truck several times even during the night.

The street noise was extremely loud when the door was open,

The kids had plenty of room to play when we were in our room and we didn't feel like it was cramped.

but closes a little on the early side, so you'll need to take the party somewhere else after about 7-8 PM.

This and the total lack of bathroom inside the rooms (except for toilet) is a result of very poor hygiene policies by the hotel management and not staff performance.

Only caution (and a small one), is the only night we asked the front desk to recommend a restaurant, it was terrible (mediocre food and poor service).

The location is fantastic and the hotel was only let down by the poor reception service and lack of iron.

The food from room service was delicious.

The hotel was conveniently located and is situated within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and points of interest.

The restaurant servers were friendly and very efficient.

The hotel was clean, staff very attentive and the food great.

The rooftop bar was lovely and they made a delicious cocktail.

The room had all the amenities one needs.

Our room (a junior suite) was very spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower is the best we have ever had at a hotel -- plenty of hot water and the water pressure was good and strong.
