Arrived at the hotel late with 6 friends check in was fine arrived to our Room on the 4 th floor opened the door and there was a horrible sewage smell went straight back to reception to inform them they said they would send someone to inspect it in the morning once inspected they said there wasn’t a problem

You can hear more when they drain the sewers in the next room or higher.

Old and musty and god knows how long since they had been cleaned.

Rooms were nice and needed so touch ups like paint and mold between the shower tiles

There is absolutely no view except old buildings falling apart, there is a street right under your terrace where men gather during the night, smoke, have some kind of parties and keep you awake all night long!

The only down irritation was that the bathroom extractor fan seem to smell of tobacco smoke, i can only assume that someone was smoking in one of the other rooms and it was passing through the air ducts and out of the extractor fan.

La Rambla is loud, smelly, and dangerous at night.

Only had a shower in it and had to be extremely care not to touch the crossbar where the facets were because it was so hot you could get burned.

There are some weird smells here and there

There was a nasty smell in our room, in the corridors and sometimes in reception (an eggy drain type smell).

but don’t expect tea making facilities and there was an unpleasant smell in the corridors!

My suggestion would be to have a small refrigerator in each guest room.

Breakfast was not our cup of tea, a lot of sweet.

Only thing stopping this from being a perfect score was a lack of kettle and tea options in the room

Added to the cons, the room doesn’t have any mini refrigerator neither does it a brush for cleaning the toilet.

Also no kettle facilities in room and only shower gel provided was disappointing and I expected more.

The amenities of this hotel are basic and rooms don’t include things like ice buckets, a small fridge, or an iron and ironing board.

A few down points - no fridge or kettle in the room (though apparently you could hire a kettle from reception) and the rooftop bar was pretty crowded when we visited.

Firstly, other reviews say that the location feels a little unsafe,

Unfortunately, the hotel seemed to be the location of the homeless so lots of daily Police presence.

And you need a key to access the front door/reception area of the hotel, so it stops any non-hotel guests from just wandering in.

The location is awful and feels unsafe with children.

The street where the hotel is located is quite rough, you can easily see a bunch of homeless people not too far from the hotel entrance, and I didn’t feel safe walking back to the hotel after 8pm.

Very bad location, drug addicts next to hotel, street from center to hotel is shady, dark and you may feel insecure.

We had no trouble at all with the area, there were a few homeless people sleeping near the hotel at night

For those making comments about the area being dodgy or unsafe we just don’t get that at all.

The area directly around the hotel can be a little intimidating in the evenings - it is a dodgy part of town.

however some what basic & a watch out for the neighbourhood.

The major issue with this hotel is the neighbourhood.

The floor makes a lot of noise so the neighbours downstairs can hear everything.

The room was generally dark even the corridor despite having on all the lights On room.

But then you go to use the bathroom and toilet - it's very dark and suddenly the funky lighting doesn't work in your favour.

and the light of room was so dark and opened window was so narrow.

The hotel theme is modern, albeit a bit dark in places.

but light still comes through and around these so if (like me) you like a completely dark room you will notice this.

buttons, hot/warm lighting, and combinations (if you arrive tired and it’s too frustrating, remove the key card and it goes dark).

Your room key was needed to access the room floors in the lift and it could be temperamental which was annoying as I had to get the room key replaced a couple of times.

It meant you often got stuck in the elevator, stairs or even the hallway trying to gain entry to your room.

as a diamond accor member we were put in the noisiest room of all (stay away from the elevators, which by the way are a complete mess).

WIth all that being said, make sure you don't get a room next to a lift.

Moreover, my room was near the elevators, so very noisy.

Only thing was we had a room next to a lift shift which did disturb us on the first night, we asked reception the following morning of we could change to a different room which was no hassle at all and done straight away.

The third experience was in the pool on the rooftop on 8 September no lifeguard was available or staff to give the towel or watch the pool safely to complete the worst experience when I try to go back to my room my key-card stop to working on the lift because automatically close my stay

but this hotel has a funny commercial policy, they charge you the room as if they were afraid that the customer who left a credit card imprint leaves at the end of the stay like a thief, and they do not sell a box of water greater than 50cl, in order to maximize the margin, there is an interminable wait to take one of the 3 elevators.

Elevators in this hotel are not easy to use.

but their insistence on formal dining and seating of patrons slowed things down massively, especially for me, as I was just looking for a yogurt and pastry),  stunningly slow elevators (they were never all working.  )

The lifts were an absolute nightmare, if they even came when you called for one.

Negatives: Elevators were terrible, cards didn’t work half the time nor did the left elevator.

For example: waits at reception are enormously long, there are insufficient elevators for the numbers of guests thus you must wait forever to leave the building, the rooms have a feeling of only mild cleanliness.

This hotel is tired and feels dirty , the carpets in both hallways & rooms are dirty with cigarette burns in them making me feel like we always had to wear something on your feet.

It smelt very dusty, which made the entire room uncomfortable.

but the bathroom door opened directly onto the bed which is not necessarily very discreet (suffice to say the smell of someone using the loo is not going to help the other person relax).

Our room at water heat problems in the sense that the showers would nearly burn you and then would freeze you within 5 seconds without adjusting the temperature.

There was also a very bad smell in the bathroom (sewers).

For example, the joint around the shower was degraded to the point that it was cracked and moldy.

Then there is a bad smell in the hallway.

IN addition to that the drain cover consistently came off.

The breakfast is terrible particularly that coffee machine is disgusting , plate and is not clean as you can spot the dirty.The door for the restaurant sometime is open , sometimes is not and it’s makes customer inconvenient.

however room smelt of mould as the carpet was damp and wet in areas as air conditioning leaks onto carpet.

Unfortunately the pool water is really disgusting, our young son didn’t want to put his head in the water-do so at your own risk.

Only really downturn: the public toilet at the roof top area - totally disgusting, needs to be cleaned much more frequently and trash bin emptied more often.

Even I, who am not too picky could smell that everything was not ok. We complained and asked for a new room.

Lobby suffered a severe odor across the entire week, not a very pleasant walk-in experience as well. Additionally, after upgrading our rooms to an "Executive" level, which appeared to be very basic in terms of facilities, size and overall design: room was fairly small, no special amenities, a tiny TV (what kind of hotels do that these days?)

It took 10 days and several dozen e-mails for them to admit that they had overcharged me by more than 400 euros.

The plastic of the card was of very poor quality, every day I had to go down to configure the room key.

Everything terrible, I been here for 10 nights and they stole me 100€ for my credit bank when I left , without telling me, when I called the hotel they told me it’s becouse smooking in the room when I don’t even smooke.

However, it is quite strange that they charge for wifi as an extra cost (unless you book it directly on their website).

This was not in the confirmation and only on the website you can find something in small prints saying taht you will be charged an amount

There is free WiFi, which is pretty bad and there is paid WiFi, which is said free on the holder of your key card,
but you get it only, if booking on their website.
