The room was generally dark even the corridor despite having on all the lights On room.

But then you go to use the bathroom and toilet - it's very dark and suddenly the funky lighting doesn't work in your favour.

and the light of room was so dark and opened window was so narrow.

The hotel theme is modern, albeit a bit dark in places.

but light still comes through and around these so if (like me) you like a completely dark room you will notice this.

buttons, hot/warm lighting, and combinations (if you arrive tired and it’s too frustrating, remove the key card and it goes dark).

but lighting made the halls and room quite dark.

Decor was dark and corridors were unsettling as they are so dark.

Interior deco is a little dark, like a night club.

although I did find the lighting a little dark in the room.

My only complaints are the shower has a small glass partition that gets water all over the floor and the room can be a bit dark.

We booked a standard double room and it was a bit dark as the hotel is a high-rise building and there is not much natural light

The only let down was how dark the rooms were and sometimes the room smelt unpleasant.

Decor is minimalist and contemporary in neutral, dark colors.

Recommended places to visit are Parc Guell (monument park and Gaudi's house), Casa Batllo, Montjuic and the cable car, Casa Musica, the Palau Nacional and Font Magica, a boat trip around the harbour and. .

At least for the room where I stayed, you could see that it was already a little bit "run-down", so some renovation  might be recommended.

The room was extremely spacious unlike most city-break-style hotels.

but the hospitality of Frederico, and the comfort of our room and location brought us back to the hotel.

We had a terrace room (the one with the SOHO sign) and loved the spaciousness and modern design.

The room was clean and very roomy albeit we booked the one with the terrace to give us more room for our bikes.

Centrally located, with helpful and attentive staff (especially Robert) the bed was comfortable, the room spacious and the air condition unit worked really well.

Heavy traffic makes the room a bit noisy with thin windows.

The door in the balcony did not seal well and street noise was quite loud at times.

but it had a pane of glass that extended across about 1/3 of the tub length.)

but has powered blinds that can be closed with the touch of a button.

The only thing to complain about is that you can not turn off the lights themselves in the window which are switched on and off automatically.

The very cool miniblinds in the windows don't work--permanently.

Only things that would make this hotel the best would be to put blinds or a curtain on the shower glass wall, as in the bedroom you can see straight into the shower, as there is no privacy which wasn’t the best.

Also noted in other reviews, it was a bit irritating not being able to amend the blinds between the window panes.

We got taxis to the familia and parc guell which priced from around 10/15 each.

but we visited parc guell, la rambla and barcelonetta beach with no problems.

It was easy to get to Las Ramblas and the beach area as well as the beautiful Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell - all a must when visiting Barcelona!

Would recommend Parc Guell (Lesseps metro station) Views of all of Barcelona!

Parc Guell and of course all the Gaudi buildings.

but a must on any visit is the  Parc Guell, Sagrada Famillia and El 4 Gats restaurant.

The only downside is that it’s on a very busy road so quite noisy at night time.

Our room was on the 7th floor and overlooked the roundabout, which was quite noisy

The location is noisy, traffic and dustman in the early hours.

but the surrounds aren't, so the noise still comes in.

As it turned out, this worked to our advantage because the garden view room was extremely quiet at night whereas the city view room would likely have been somewhat noisy.

Only downside - no English speaking tv channels and i do like to have some for background noise.

Busy area - light sleepers may need earplugs to block out the early morning street cleaning noise -

On the street side of the hotel, there can be some noise from traffic, while the back side is very quiet.

A lot of road works going on all over Barcelona when we travelled and although we where on the 6th floor it was very noisy from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm even on the Sunday so sleep was poor

No bar or hall area, a bit noisy for rooms above the street.

One minor problem is that when metro passes through, you can feel the vibration

Traffic noise isn’t as bad as people make out.

but the second room, though on the 6th floor, was just as noisy.

If you want a quiet room, choose one that does not look out over the Gran Via.

The only let down was the noise from outside - I get the location

Sometimes we could hear the noise of the underground passing under the hotel.

There is a LOT of noise from the metro and the road, as well as from the hall and elevator.

The only down side was my room was near the road so I could hear the traffic at night,

Room was a decent size and cleaned everyday, there was a mini bar in the room with soft drinks and alcohol etc.

Wonderful touch was a bottle of Cava in the room on the day of our anniversary, thank you so much for that.

Upon arrival our room was spotless and the hotel was generally clean.

Our room was OK, the safe was shocking a hole in the wall and advice on leaving valuables in reception is not what you want to hear the moment you arrive, and the curtain across a rail as a make shift wardrobe needs to be improved.

but modern, with a few weird quirks to figure out for lights and shower (the shower is transparent but there is switch by the sink to close the blinds and maintain your dignity)!

The room was great and it didn't take too long to figure out the remote lights and blinds.

but either at the bed or at then entrance to the room and to close the blinds between the batch and living are you need to find buttons above the sink
BREAKFAST - good selection of fruits, cereals, breads, pastries and a few hot items.

but cosy with a HUGE comfy bed - the bathroom did have a window with a blind that we couldn't figure out but it faced out to the side of the room so wasnt a big deal.

We eventually figured out that the controls to shut the blinds for it are by the bathroom mirror.

No matter what country you are in, you are generally able to work out how to operate light switches, faucets, blinds, etc.

but due to the street right in front it is a bit noisy even with closed windows.

There was a venetian blind in the window, But how to close it?

The window between the sleeping room and the bathroom was a little weird.

The only minus is no view from the window as all of them covered by big facade jalousie(

There’s a few things missing for top ranking in my opinion;
- Rooms facing the street are very loud even with windows closed.

which closed blinds, turned on/off lights, got the shower on/off.

but have electronic blinds you can adjust for privacy.

Took a while to work out the electric blinds in the shower and the inner toilet door didnt close properly,

and the glass wall between the bath/bed might be slightly disconcerting if you were sharing (but it does have a blind!)

The bathroom wall is made of glass, and you can open the blinds for extra light or close them for privacy.

One strange touch in the room was the motorized Venetian blinds between the shower and the rest of the room.

We visited the cathedral ,parc guell,the gothic quarter and took a cable car ride up the mountain ,barcelona has so much to see and do

The tube station Drassanes is 100 meters, and from there you can travel straight to Parc Guell.

Beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean!

Our room was very nice with balcony which added to a very nice stay in Barcelona.

Would recommend a room with a balcony facing La Rambla to take in the sights and sounds from above.

Rooms were clean, and breakfast was great.

The room is clean, tidy and renewed daily

Check in was easy— they have locker for a few euros that you can put your luggage in for the day and go see the downtown if your rooms not ready.

A clean, modern room with excellent black-out shutters, a refigerator, AC, and a room safe.

The hotel is in a prime position on La Ramblas, lots of shops and restaurants : it is surprisingly quiet in rooms and shutters, voile & heavy curtain mean not disturbed by sound or light ; Rooms are cleaned, beds and towels changed daily, very impressed.

Room was generous in size and was absolutely spotless.

There was almost no noise from La Rambla or the road that was right outside our window, so don't worry about that if you wamt to book a room.

The hotel had a fantastic nice staff, always someone at the reception and they were all helpful, we had access to a delicious breakfast at a reasonable extra cost, a nice large room and a perfect location.

I particularly enjoyed the beautiful views of La Rambla from my room.

Our room had one tiny window so would get very stuff and was of course always dark.

We stayed here at Easter for 4 nights and found that the room was very small.

The other was because I was given a smoking room and I am allergic to smoke.

She just shrugged us off and said they all knew each other and then said she will go back out and be with her ‘friends’ to really demonstrate her lack of care and actually went out to smoke another cigarette with this creep.

(Drain was smelly, blocked and shower not working).

My bottle of perfume was broken during room/ bathroom cleaning.

Arrived at the hotel late with 6 friends check in was fine arrived to our Room on the 4 th floor opened the door and there was a horrible sewage smell went straight back to reception to inform them they said they would send someone to inspect it in the morning once inspected they said there wasn’t a problem

You can hear more when they drain the sewers in the next room or higher.

Old and musty and god knows how long since they had been cleaned.

Rooms were nice and needed so touch ups like paint and mold between the shower tiles

There is absolutely no view except old buildings falling apart, there is a street right under your terrace where men gather during the night, smoke, have some kind of parties and keep you awake all night long!

The only down irritation was that the bathroom extractor fan seem to smell of tobacco smoke, i can only assume that someone was smoking in one of the other rooms and it was passing through the air ducts and out of the extractor fan.

La Rambla is loud, smelly, and dangerous at night.

Only had a shower in it and had to be extremely care not to touch the crossbar where the facets were because it was so hot you could get burned.

There are some weird smells here and there

There was a nasty smell in our room, in the corridors and sometimes in reception (an eggy drain type smell).

but don’t expect tea making facilities and there was an unpleasant smell in the corridors!

Your room key was needed to access the room floors in the lift and it could be temperamental which was annoying as I had to get the room key replaced a couple of times.

It meant you often got stuck in the elevator, stairs or even the hallway trying to gain entry to your room.

but not for kids

But please please please get the card readers in the lift fixed!

as a diamond accor member we were put in the noisiest room of all (stay away from the elevators, which by the way are a complete mess).

WIth all that being said, make sure you don't get a room next to a lift.

Moreover, my room was near the elevators, so very noisy.

Has 3 lifts , one was broken on our last day ,

Only thing was we had a room next to a lift shift which did disturb us on the first night, we asked reception the following morning of we could change to a different room which was no hassle at all and done straight away.

The third experience was in the pool on the rooftop on 8 September no lifeguard was available or staff to give the towel or watch the pool safely to complete the worst experience when I try to go back to my room my key-card stop to working on the lift because automatically close my stay

but this hotel has a funny commercial policy, they charge you the room as if they were afraid that the customer who left a credit card imprint leaves at the end of the stay like a thief, and they do not sell a box of water greater than 50cl, in order to maximize the margin, there is an interminable wait to take one of the 3 elevators.

Elevators in this hotel are not easy to use.

but their insistence on formal dining and seating of patrons slowed things down massively, especially for me, as I was just looking for a yogurt and pastry),  stunningly slow elevators (they were never all working.  )

The lifts were an absolute nightmare, if they even came when you called for one.

Some upkeep needs to be done as there are elevator

Negatives: Elevators were terrible, cards didn’t work half the time nor did the left elevator.

For example: waits at reception are enormously long, there are insufficient elevators for the numbers of guests thus you must wait forever to leave the building, the rooms have a feeling of only mild cleanliness.

This was a good option for us because we were planning on visiting Parc Guell, so we dropped off our luggage and returned a few hours later.

The location also provides easy access to Parc Guell by taxi; Sagrada Familia is within walking distance and we rode a quick metro to Las Ramblas.

We accidentally booked twice for the Parc Guell and the receptionist phoned the park directly to help us organise a refund.

but also with tram and metro lines very near; direct bus line to Parc Guell, walking distance to Sagrada familia.

Parc guell is very worth the visit to see Antonio Gaudi's fascinating architecture.

Second, the house keeping is pretty late, they sometimes would finish cleaning my room at 3 or 4 pm!

We were in a small family room, quite basic

The room was clean and large enough for a family, with beautiful city views.

The hotel lobby is definitely more plush than the rooms, and the rooms are nothing special,

Good view and a decent pool, good rooftop bar, excellent breakfast and very comfortable rooms.

I could see the Sagrada Familia in my room.

My room was spotless and very comfortable .

The room was very clean as was the dining room.

we transferred to room 1501, it was much better than the previous one

And the housekeeper who clean and prepare our room.. We would like to say thank you..

Room key keeps breaking so your constantly at reception.

Hi,

We were on a business trip and were fortunate enough to be upgraded from an Executive room to a Suite (Accor member).

Suits rooms are nice, clean and big enough.

We booked a suite room which was very cozy and spacious, this was a good choice, traveling with a teenager as you have a separate bedroom, with a large bathroom.

Got here yesterday nice receptionist very polite offer us a free drink in rooftop bar and swimming pool the room was so modern everything you need all very clean can not find anything think I do not like metro up the road hundreds of shops across the road just come and stay you will love it still here till tomorrow 14 floor very quick lifts
