Now to the good aspects:

- The design of the hotel is very cool, and the property has a vertical garden that runs through the entire central atrium complete with palm trees and other tropical vegetation.

The rooms were immaculate and modern, and the open central atrium throughout the high-rise building was unique for sure.

We took the glass lift up through the central atrium quickly passing through floors adorned by plant and trees.

The rooms all have doors facing an outside atrium which I haven't seen before.

The two "columns" of the hotel are around an open air foliage atrium, with open walkways.

The hotel is unique with two towers connected by an outdoor atrium with garden growing up the stairways.

Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel is a modern (“elegant and chic”) design hotel with interesting architectural features such as a open atrium vertical garden of palm trees and lush vegetation in the middle of the hotel.

From the palm trees on the facade of the hotel to the greenery in the open atrium inside the hotel, this hotel was a surprisingly wonderful find!

There's a staircase in the atrium that goes to all the floors.

Each room has a HUGE exterior door and the atrium is open to the elements

The interior atrium is filled with plants all the way up and down the hotel on every floor.

That theme is continued in the hotel atrium.

Strange building, as you walk out of your room in to the outside/atrium style of the hotel.

What a fantastic hotel which made our first stay in Barcelona a great experience.Everything, architect designed to the finest detail brings about an elegant ease of stay.Quality is in each aspect from bedroom lighting, to topclass shower facilities through to glass lifts which enable you to admire the fantastic palm laden atrium which rises to roof level.We had both dinner and breakfasts during our stay and the quality of food and cooking is second to none.

The atrium/lobby is a really nice place to relax after a day’s sightseeing.

The inside has an atrium with many plants.

It is set out around an open air atrium which towers above the reception area.

On the plus side, the building is undoubtedly spectacular in concept - the glass atrium works effectively and the 14th floor restaurant, where we had breakfast, is beautifully positioned with wonderful views of the city.

Once you get to your door, it would be best if you were a football player and you knew how to hit the door like a football tackling sled because you REALLY need to push that door with some strength!.

At least 2 of the doors did not latch as the guests entered or exited their room.

but oddly the shower and sink was in the main room (separated by a curtain from the bed area) with just the toilet closed off with a door like a cloakroom.

Meeting rooms smelled musty and smoky and the bathroom doors in the conference space were so dark and confusing.

Intentionally removed the “Do Not Disturbed “ sign so that our room will be freshened up when we come back in the evening after our day out 

However , upon our return , a “ Do Not Disturbed “ sign was hanged outside our door which was never there when we left .

Another lady comes by later and stands outside the door giving  me a bunch of towels and plastic bag of toiletries.

The Do-Not-Disturb sign could be placed on my door,

The security guard of hotel present was inside the hotel doors and had no clue what happened so why did the hotel employed him in first place as a mannequin ? 2.

This is not a hotel that you want if you’d prefer to have the old city outside your door.

The walls and doors masking the shower are smoked or partly mirrored glass.

The doors to the bathroom are all glass so privacy could be an issue.

One odd thing, the lights are powered by placing a card in the card holder by the door,

The rooms had few technical issues (Shower door, AC..)

Room service came once when I was in the room and as soon as I opened the door she took the do not disturb sign and hung it outside for reasons I do not know.

Quite a task to open your room door as no handle and the tropical plant theme is emanated  on the corridor walls making it difficult to see where your room door is - also a very clever concept too!

Also i pointed our graffiti outside the fron door that was very vulgar and her response is “it’s not our property”.

Note: if you planning to take photo behind the elevator, make sure to hold the door because its emergency door therefore you cant open it from outside.

Has amenities with Kettle, room slippers, rope, safe - convenient location to metro and bus.

So, it is the most beloved place when there is a fair and even rooms including suites are fully booked..

The room was modern and clean, and while I would not rush to copy the bathroom design, we loved the large shower.

This hotel boasts one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in, with modern amenities and elegant décor and one of a kind shaped windows.

You assume the door has latched closed and your items are safe enclosed in your room.

We stayed in a twin room which was very chic,

Rooms are reasonably sized although a bit clinical

Good clean place, room was spacious, well lit and comfortable.

Room was big, all white with a window shaped like a palm fond.

The room was definitely 5star worthy and reminds me a bit of the W brand.

I was upgraded to a higher floor premier room where space is ample and everything functioned nicely.

It is a very tall 28 floor building with luxurious rooms using high-end technology.

While the food and the service of all the staff was great, the room was rather disappointing.

But I actually liked the open fresh air in the common areas while being able to retreat into my air conditioned room when it was too hot.

Architecturally the hotel is impressive from the room windows to the overall design.

The vistas from most rooms are pretty cool, and you definitely get more m² for your money than in downtown.

The hotel room doors are not intuitive on how to open; my entire hotel room was black and I walked into the black glass wall in my room so many times at night, it’s also so hard to find the bathroom in your black room at night!

There is no wall in main entrance side, except two first floors.

The long wall in my room was all glass too.

The entrance to that sanctum was concealed behind a small knob on a mirrored wall.

It was 19 degrees and wall to wall sunshine.

The rooms are unusual being all white, with a curtain around the entire bed and glass partition walls.

The rooms are stark white with projection lights that throw plant designs shadows on the walls.

The window wall of our white room has a palm leaf cutout that can be covered with a palm leaf curtain &/or a blackout curtain.

Everything was white with very little decor and a large cement wall with a window that had a long thin window that I had to stand on my tiptoes, if I wanted to see out of.

It took me a while to figure out how to lower the blinds using a wall switch.

but the window had plaster design which looked like an explosion in the wall!

though pillows nice, room furniture just an uncomfortable built in banquette along walls.

NOTE: ALL windows in guest rooms are cut into the wall in the shape of palm treetops.

The bare stark white walls were not necessarily my aesthetic

but even more white except for the wall to ceiling HUGE mirror "wall" that separates the  bedroom / lounge area from the shower room.

Further, the hallways to the rooms are partly open with glass walls, giving you a feel of openness.

The bedrooms have unusual vegetation inspiration window and other glass, a two-toned chromatic effect and shower/bath area is separated from the living area with a transparent art glass wall.

To make matters worse, one "wall" of the shower is a mirror which is somewhat see through in both ways.

The rooms are all white (no picture), the shower is surrounded by glass (see through), the toilette is in a separate cubicle, of white walls and nothing else, no shelf to leave your hygienic products, etc  There is no real bathroom, the washbasin is next to the see-through shower,

We were unsure whether the heater wasn't working or if we were unable to adjust it to the correct temperature.

The hotel did not have the air conditioning on in the rooms.

The air con looked ancient and did not work, which meant the room was unbearably hot. Had we not arrived so late we would have requested a change,

The hotel should be shut down for that period or have heating installed.

I appreciatee opening the windows and that the AC was off.

This one hasn't, the carpet is bare and worn down to wood, and the vent grill in the bathroom was disgustingly dirty.

Once we had settled in the room which smelled a little musty we turned down the AC and then noticed it was very humid and wet feeling.

Unfortunately the hotel obviously suffers from what smells to me, to be a drain problem, so bad that the a/c exacerbates it, so it has to be off with then the window open, giving a lot of road noise and mosquitoes 🦟.

Our room has a TERRIBLE air conditioner and the room is very hot even in the cold setting.

The AC unit was worthless -- virtually no cool air and could only adjust the thermostat by max of 2 degrees.

And, AC is disabled if you open the window.

but the room had old and worn furniture, a/c was extremely noisy and not really working, wifi very slow.

The thermostat in the room was analogic, so a bit difficult to establish a comfortable temperature.

but I found the temperature was okay for me without any heating.

though the staff were tired and also stressed, we had a quick and efficient checkin and were able to relax in the spacious and comfortable atrium lobby while waiting to do so.

but the rest good, clean, nice atrium architecture., good value for the location and service.

with the hotel built on an open atrium type of format.

Guest rooms open onto hallways looking into a vast atrium, with the expansive lobby area on the ground floor.

The football was on in the atrium being proudly displayed on a 32inch/81 cm screen.

The hotel is a multi storied atrium hotel with multiple elevators.

This is a mildly upscale hotel with a nice atrium and good appointments.

The bar was wonderful and the rooms very clean and comfortable!!

They had our passports and clothes locked inside our room.

Rooms are relatively large, well equipped, and well kept.

The rooms are very nice and the restaurant offers for nice things you might need during your short stay.

Rooms have very large windows from floor to ceiling through which the heat is lost.

Great rooms and around 20 mins to the city centre.

This is everything I need in an airport hotel — a very short and reliable shuttle ride from the terminal, a clean and comfortable room, a quiet space, a very good breakfast.

The rooms are smaller than typical US size,

The room was a good size, clean, and had a minibar with a couple of bottles of water.

The good thing was the room itself was nice.

The room was clean and the staff we interacted with were lovely.

Try not to take the highway-side room, there was too much noise from the highway, the breakfast was very good (from 6.30-10.00) and the personnel was very friendly and very professional. Good location and transfer to the airport, good connection to the city centre with the bus number L95 (€2,40)

The rooms where luxurious with a huge Queen bed and lovely shower.

Room was comfortable and bathroom adequate, and the personnel of the hotel very professional and warm, they were the strong point of this small stay.

At reception they told me they would send the housekeeper to our room and she eventually attended

There was a very strong 'drains' smell from the bathroom that permeated the whole room.

The room was way too hot and could not open window due to sewer smell and noise.

but wouldn’t stay of my own accord, my wife would have walked out as soon as she stepped through the door with the drain smell!

Mattress on the floor, very old and run down, stinking leaking drainage, aircon that cannot be adjusted, everything bolted to the walls.

Had to switch as first one smelled of stale smoke.

We ended up sleeping with barely enough clothes and no covers, and were still soaked from sweat.

The bathroom was dirty and had what appeared to be a urine stain on the wall.

Cheap rooms both in decor and lighting; given a room reeking of tobacco despite being non-smoking; breakfast was horrible; cleaning came into the room at 7am despite having a do not disturb sign up.

but there was mildew in the corners of the shower and the post to hang clothing was damaged

The room I visited had a rotten bathroom and old furniture.

But what is disgusting is the restaurant and its staff.

On entering the hote there was a strong smell of sewage, luckily this didn't spread to the room.

Went back to reception and were given keys to a disgusting smoke ridden bare scruffy twin room on the ground floor which I assume is used for cabin crew or the like.

Hotel ventilation system is antiquated,  if someone is smoking in their room on the first floor, you will smell it in your room on the third floor.

The air con in my room was broken and opening the window let in both the loud noise of the motorway and a strong sewage smell which wasn't great.

Resturant - looked like a canteen , food sitting in dishes looking rather sad and yuck !

The air conditioning only blew wet damp air.

but instead we just left the window open (which  helped with the smell!)

Rooms at the front, even when the windows are closed, are roaring with traffic from the autoroute--all night long.

You can open a window and then listen to the highway noise.

Window opens FULLY – no restraint on it (dangerous).

My room was right above the highway and the windows are not sound proof.

We had to open the windows and the door to the room to get at least a degree of breeze,

Then I decided that Inqould open the window,

but at least the double-glazed windows block the worst of the sound.

but the impression quickly changed once I got in my room: bare, cold, and also very noisy from the road, in spite of the window being closed.

however I am a heavy sleeper and was unaware of the noise even one night sleeping with the window open and considering its close proximity to the airport I was completely unaware of any aircraft noise.

The gym is very small - only one running machine, the room is in the sun (and one of the curtain couldn't close) so you ended like having a temperature close to sauna!

The staff just came in, open the window and just left.

It was very loud, I got up 3 times to check and see if the window was somehow cracked open - it wasn't.

Also the aircon was not functioning in the room, and we couldn’t open the window in the evening as it was raining outside so the room got a bit stuffy.

Small boutique style hotel with open atrium has sound travel from lobby up.

Nothing, throughout the day I had to make 3 calls to the front desk, finally a maintenance person came in, advised it was because they have just changed new pipes and tubes, and advised it would be fixed in 10 mins.

WiFi is so slow, my phone was constantly switching to LTE.

After a late arrival and no access to the Sleep & Fly at the Barcelona airport, I chose to call around for a room.

but no alarm went off nor did I receive a phone call or a knock on my door.

Also, to note so that the manager can't argue and say they didn't know with this post I already emailed them about it (I'm not able to post a pic of her response as Trip Advisor won't let me upload an iPhone screenshot).

The phone conversation in the room next door came thru the adjoining door quite loudly.

The bells staff use them to deliver cases to the rooms and block the door with cases so you cant call the lift.

So, I go back up stairs to my room, e-mail the hotel my documents, go back downstairs and wait another 15 minutes while the front disk figures out how to print PDF documents
Go back to my room for a pleasant night
Get up next morning to my cell phone alarm.

They wouldn't even make an outside call for me which was needed as it was my phone that was stolen and was on my own.

On a normal night  the hotel calls for you.

One last suggestion is do not rely on their wake-up call.

but with more of a younger urban flare. The decor is mostly black, nice, but I had to look careful to make sure I did not leave anything (black wallet, iPhone case, iPad, etc.)

Waited way too long for service at the bar which is right next to the reception desk, so the concierge just watched us waiting for service rather than trying to get someone. Didn't get our morning wake-up call until 45 minutes after requested, then the woman tried to claim she had been "trying to get us."

(and the only way I could confirm it was 3am was to get out of bed to check my almost dead iphone).

My only complaint is that we requested a wake-up call on our check out day and they forgot to call us.

Showering may pose a problem for less mobile guests,

We had a very comfortable stay there and the room had a safe which I wasn't sure of before we checked in.

Room was clean and modern bathroom was  excellent.

Because we insisted they gave us the room because any employee, we was waiting in the lobby, was gentle enough for telling us that the room was ready.

Room was comfy, clean and large enough to be light and airy.

The hotel is modern, rooms are comfortable and well equipped

Rooms lovely and very clean , staff friendly and location excellent if you like being 5 mins out of the hustle of the city.

Rooms are light, generous, good beds, spacious bathrooms, good breakfast choice.

Comfortable and clean rooms with good bath amenities, the Tv screen is small. But nice views and a lot of sun light (at least in higher floors)

I ordered one and it quickly was brought to the room.

The reception was good, the room was neat and comfortable, the washrooms were well equipped and the stay was peaceful.

Then 5-10 min taxi and 25€ ride, they had rooms available and gave me an excellent rate include free access to minibar.

We rented 2 rooms which were very clean with great air conditioning.

I stayed here for 3 nights on group tour from 10 July to 12th July

However things on arrival looked rather interesting with the apartments having an open atrium in the centre.

This has clearly been an issue for some time as the laminate floor had lifted and the bathroom door swollen so it couldn’t be closed.

clearly, it's been an ongoing issue as you can see the water damage, rotted wood   on the bathroom door frame.

It took us a while to figure it out how to open the door.

though a small supermarket a few doors up was still open at 23.00.

Overall the air-conditioned apartment was never anything other than comfortable with the ability to have large doors open to allow air in to large external blinds that prevented the rooms getting too hot.

You could only use it (at least in our appartment) near the front door.

One problem is that the bathroom door kept getting stuck which was very annoying.

I do have to say that during our first stay we did get the apartment that has been mentioned in previous reviews regarding the bathroom that has a door that does not close and water goes everywhere from the shower.

The interior doors are also quite heavy and  bang shut noisily.

(Local Lidl, turn left out of the reception door, go down alley to thw junction and Lidl is over the main road, you cant miss it!)

kind of a strange door opening system which had me stumped for a bit.
