Just would like to say thank you to the entertainment team especially the guy who did  the Zumba by the pool.

Waiters & waitress couldn’t do enough for you table service never had to go and get a drink other then in the day around by the pool.

but if you walk either ends of the hotel you will come to the towns, but you wouldn’t really need to leave the hotel as it’s very good, 4 pools and lots of activities going on!

although even without it there’s plenty to do with the choice of pools and entertainment on , went all inclusive and couldn’t fault it , easy to get served even table service for drinks , lots of choice in resteraunt at meals , deserts were lovely 😊 and snack bar through the day of the kids missed a meal or weren’t hungry , definitely worth paying the extra for AI .

Lots of pools, one side of the hotel is quiet and the other with music and games.

Two pool areas, one noisier and one quieter.

but the buffet was nice, the pools were well kept, unfortunately the water park closed for the season the day we arrived.

There are 3 lovely pools to suit eveyone.

Amazing hotel for a family breck, i spent 5 nights wit my 7 year old daughter she loved the pools n the mini disco, grest enterainment for kids thru out the day, very friendly staff, rooms are very clean n beds comfy most the rooms have sea veiw, waterpark is brillent loads to do.close to the beach, i defo wud recomend this hotel for familys, i will be returning, thanks to all the staff for a amzing time 🍺🍺🍹🍹🍹

Although the resort complex is big, it never felt overcrowded or unsafe, the pool areas along with the aqua park section were supervised by friendly, informative and fully alert staff at all times.

Staff are fantastic, facilities are fabulous, food, entertainment, bars, pools, kids club, the shows everything you can think as a family are catered for.

A water park with slides, 3 pools, children's fun areas, poolside bar/other bar, games room, night entertainment, fun day games, cycle hire, coach trips, hiking routes, nearby shops, bus/train nearby, 2 restaurants, a laundry room, an outdoor play area, they've got it all covered, oh and the beach is at the front of the hotel.

The food was good activities and swimming pools are very clean and tidy.

Room was fab, really big and modern majority of rooms have a pool and sea view.

The pools were great, if you like watching the daily shenanigans then the pool with entertainment is excellent, the quieter pool suited is most days

Mini discos in the pool and in the evening- my daughter loved it!

Food good, (desserts really nice) cocktails horrible (out of a bottle), free beer/wine not great - limited choices on AI - you can pay additional for better options (EG bottled beers 1 Euro if your AI).

but for what we paid it was still a disappointment.

- Shouldn’t have to pay to use a safe (€20 a week) or iron (€1.50 for 30mins) in 4* hotel
- Not enough bikes for hire (even in Sept) and why only 10am-6pm.

but come on - when someone pays for a fully/all inclusive deal that's exactly what we expect.

Not too many thinks to choose in the Bar, only one type of beer sold for AI and if wanted a Coke, 70% ice in it, same as mcdonalds🫣
Food was great for lunch, had to pay extra for a bottle of wine €5.50 as all inclusive quest and at check out they charged €18.00 or something like that.

Negative  - you have to pay 10euro deposit per towel and you have to pay 1 euro (non refundable) every time you want to change it.

but limited service hours for all inclusive which we never got our head around and teenagers often ended up having to pay for what they wanted as it was after 6, or after 10pm.

Yes if it was out of peak season and very very cheap deal 😬

Be careful where/when you get the drinks if paying for them, there was a bit of inconsistency with the size and price of drinks between the bars.

though some people are talking rubbish and expect a 5 star hotel for a 1 star price.

Maybe they are not getting paid enough or maybe that’s just how it is here.

Plus you have to pay for everything - towels by the pool, coffee and drinks for dinner (even with half board) and even to play at the pool table.

I'd suggest people who are full board get a ticket for snack food as al alternative to dinner
 

Such a shame the prices were so crazy high.

There are 2 pool tables and at 2 euros a game it is rather expensive

but paid to eat in the all inclusive buffet a couple of nights.

Horrible how boring this hotel is not gonna lie is just for families with kids that’s what you mostly see.Also I’ve paid half board which means breakfast and dinner ,at dinner time I had to pay for my drinks which I thought I would get with my dinner not even a 1 drink for free this hotel is trying to make money on everything 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼horrible how it works in this hotel everything cost money even to borrow a towel for pool I’ve been to a lot of countries and hotels

The only minus is on full board you have to pay extra for soft drinks, would be better if you up your price a bit and serve soft drinks for everyone.

Despite not being AI, we found the drinks reasonably priced - 2.50 Euros for a pint and about the same for a glass of wine.

One criticism was that one member of staff came in part way through and was giggling and whispering with a bar staff member seemingly at our expense about the solemnity of it all and obvious upset of people in the room which made me angry and like we were being disrespected.

The baby pools were great and both my children age 1 and 2 were able to stand up in the pool, splash and generally enjoy it.

The good thing also was the because both of the main pools have a walk in slope, we were able to get the disabled traveller into the water for a splash and a sit in the bubbles.

It has all: 2 pools (not counting "splash pools"), indoor  pool, rooms for entertainment and rest, restaurant, bars, a hall with a scene, a laundry with washing machines, ironing tables and irons, safes in the rooms.

Rooftop pool and bar was amazing - great place to chill after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was good, only small criticism would be to cover the all the pastries, and the coffee from the machine wasn't great (but I got round that by using the Nescafe sachets with hot water!)

The guys working in the pool area were super kind.

When you check out they hold your bags and you can use the pool that day as well which is brilliant.

You can't fault the level of service, the location or the roof terrace and pool.

The pool is great, especially after a hot day sight seeing.

There is a lovely infinity pool on the roof of the hotel with a view of the city.

good hotel with brilliant breakfast, and wonderful pool.

The large terrace with pool and bar on the rooftop are great.

Rooftop pool is pretty cool hearing the buzz of the traffic and people below on Placa d'Espanya.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we loved the room and amenities available, specifically the pool and rooftop bar!

The view from the rooftop terrace  is great, and can be enjoyed from an (unheated) infinity pool.

On the roof floor is a pool with a view of Plaza España and a bar that opens on lovely days.

Didn't use the rooftop & pool as it was January,but had a look & would be great in the hotter months

The only downside is that it’s on a very busy road so quite noisy at night time.

Our room was on the 7th floor and overlooked the roundabout, which was quite noisy

The location is noisy, traffic and dustman in the early hours.

but the surrounds aren't, so the noise still comes in.

As it turned out, this worked to our advantage because the garden view room was extremely quiet at night whereas the city view room would likely have been somewhat noisy.

Only downside - no English speaking tv channels and i do like to have some for background noise.

Busy area - light sleepers may need earplugs to block out the early morning street cleaning noise -

On the street side of the hotel, there can be some noise from traffic, while the back side is very quiet.

A lot of road works going on all over Barcelona when we travelled and although we where on the 6th floor it was very noisy from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm even on the Sunday so sleep was poor

No bar or hall area, a bit noisy for rooms above the street.

One minor problem is that when metro passes through, you can feel the vibration

Traffic noise isn’t as bad as people make out.

but the second room, though on the 6th floor, was just as noisy.

If you want a quiet room, choose one that does not look out over the Gran Via.

The only let down was the noise from outside - I get the location

Sometimes we could hear the noise of the underground passing under the hotel.

There is a LOT of noise from the metro and the road, as well as from the hall and elevator.

The only down side was my room was near the road so I could hear the traffic at night,

..tub/shower can splash water onto slick marble floor which can get slippery.

Our room was OK, the safe was shocking a hole in the wall and advice on leaving valuables in reception is not what you want to hear the moment you arrive, and the curtain across a rail as a make shift wardrobe needs to be improved.

but modern, with a few weird quirks to figure out for lights and shower (the shower is transparent but there is switch by the sink to close the blinds and maintain your dignity)!

The room was great and it didn't take too long to figure out the remote lights and blinds.

but either at the bed or at then entrance to the room and to close the blinds between the batch and living are you need to find buttons above the sink
BREAKFAST - good selection of fruits, cereals, breads, pastries and a few hot items.

but cosy with a HUGE comfy bed - the bathroom did have a window with a blind that we couldn't figure out but it faced out to the side of the room so wasnt a big deal.

We eventually figured out that the controls to shut the blinds for it are by the bathroom mirror.

No matter what country you are in, you are generally able to work out how to operate light switches, faucets, blinds, etc.

but due to the street right in front it is a bit noisy even with closed windows.

There was a venetian blind in the window, But how to close it?

The window between the sleeping room and the bathroom was a little weird.

The only minus is no view from the window as all of them covered by big facade jalousie(

There’s a few things missing for top ranking in my opinion;
- Rooms facing the street are very loud even with windows closed.

which closed blinds, turned on/off lights, got the shower on/off.

but have electronic blinds you can adjust for privacy.

Took a while to work out the electric blinds in the shower and the inner toilet door didnt close properly,

and the glass wall between the bath/bed might be slightly disconcerting if you were sharing (but it does have a blind!)

The bathroom wall is made of glass, and you can open the blinds for extra light or close them for privacy.

One strange touch in the room was the motorized Venetian blinds between the shower and the rest of the room.

I would agree with some of thecomments about the pool area being dirty

Our bungalow was located on the first row so we were relatively close to the pool.

Lovely hotel,  friendly staff, nice food, clean facilities 
They could improve on the night entertainment 
Otherwise great value hotel will definitely return

I came for Christmas with my family and it’s brilliant

Overall our stay was fantastic, the hotel is clean, spacious and close to playa Blanca (10 minute walk straight out front of hotel) 

I can also confirm there is no algae in the pools which is something that previously concerned me before I got here.

We stayed there with our daughter, son-in-law and three small grandchildren, who loved the infant pool.

My room was cleaned every day, the pool area was a good vibe throughout the whole day with music, games all thanks to the amazing animation team.

The bungalow was lovely ( if you get one away from the road or pool ) and the beds were very comfortable and again all clean.

Pool bigger , felt like more activities going on.

Pool area well kept with free towels available.

We stayed in a one-bed bungalow over-looking the swimming pool.

The pool area is lovely and there was no rushing for sunbeds.

Could of just been a poor week to stay here with maintained and closures of things.

but the ones that were meant to be hot were tepid and quite poor quality meat.

Food is very poor, we were all inclusive and ate outside hotel majority of the time.

Hotel is not worth the money, food and drink selection is very poor and limited.

The paid WiFi isn’t worth it with very poor coverage.

but picture is on other reviews, but the evening was poor.

At HL Club Playa Blanca, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote — We see so many poor reviews of this hotel and having just come back from a weeks holiday there I honestly think these reviews are a little unfair!

Lunch and evening meals were not great , meals were cold and poor quality.

These days, having to pay for wifi is pretty poor.

The entertainment is either non existent or poor.

The food was very poor either undercooked , my wife was given a chicken leg that was raw and bleeding on the plate !

The poor bar staff were working their socks off.

We arrived at the hotel hopeful that the poor reviews were not a reflection of the hotel.

Just back from there accommodation was good nice and spacious and clean air conditioning  only in the sitting room put left doors open food was poor most days had the same things pool was very cold

My poor husband and our friend didn’t have a lay in at all.

Only issue I really have is the Italians was very poor

Entertainment was poor during our 7 day stay apart for one night of Motown.

Other than the Pizza, which was freshly made, the rest poor quality cheap food.

but that is down to the guests leaving all their rubbish, empty drinks cups and cigarette ends where they sit the area is cleaned and washed down each morning but soon gets messed up but lazy people.

A family holiday with 5 children , still currently here last day thank the lord .. 
upon arrival a horrible eggy smell , food was well terrible , cold, no flavour , couldn’t get served at bar for 35 mins no one even there .. to then decide we will go in the swimming pool til we got the keys at 3 .. to find out there freezing , that’s including a jacuzzi that was also green !!

The sun loungers were not washed at all while we were there, they were sticky and filthy!

So after reading reviews that made me a bit apprehensive about our stay… mostly around the pools, smells and food I wanted to write our own review for people like us.

but like other reviews the showers leak water everywhere and a strong smell from the batroom.

To be honest, it looked like planned maintenance - it was noisy and very smelly.

The main pool has been drained for repairs with a strong smell of chemicals as they work on it.

The pool seating areas didn’t seem to be regularly cleaned so the bins were overflowing and used food and drink packaging was everywhere and the smell of stale alcohol was everywhere.

The room towels are very old and not the best laundered, we had to discard some unused ones prior to use as they had an unclean smell.

Both sinks were running brown water and muck was coming out the shower plug hole with a strong smell of sewage.

We did raise the issue of overwhelming sewage smell that filled our bathroom

In fact dirty is the work from cockroaches to towels which stink!

The pool itself wasnt great, it had a lot of debris in it, and we wouldn't go near the jacuzzi as the water was hazy and you couldn't see the bottom.

The pool smelled and water looked murky which made me not want to get in.

Only having one bar was very inconvenient, especially in the evening as the pool bar is small and was filled with families smoking which was not ideal with small children.

As stated by previous reviews the towels had an awful smell- reminded me of cat urine.

The pool itself was pretty disgusting, very cloudy and bits ??

They  really do stink and must be at least 20 years old.

Great fun , 7/8 slides and a lovely splash pool.

but I couldn’t let our baby play in the splash park for long because he was shivering and lips went blue.

When this hotel comes up it show a big splash zone and u think tht there

We had free access to the Dino water park next door which is great for younger children - basic flumes and slides and fun splash area plenty of fun for a 10year old!

The courtesy buses to the beach and splash park are great,  sometimes we walked as it was only 10 - 15 minutes to both.

We visited the HL Paradise Island for the splash park which was good for the children drinks inside the park (free if your all inclusive with added water park) food is in the main pool bar or restaurant this hotel is very different from Club Playa Blanca it is very very busy lunch time was like feeding time at the Zoo I don't think anyone knew what a que was.

The park is ok, our kids have enjoyed a day out there, 7 water slides and a younger kids area with the big splash bucket!

but was lovely to have somewhere different to take the kids, nice splash pool with slides and was nice we could also make the use of the all inclusive up there.

Housekeeping come every day except Sunday and clean/make beds, replenish towels and take away rubbish.

The bar staff specially the lady was so moody and grumpy a smile wouldn’t go a miss … 

Get to the hotel room as first was happy very spacious and what I thought was clean , til we saw glass under bed , dust every where we touched , thick webs , And dirt on the bedsheets then decided to go around and sweep floor with a towel as that all had to gather this much dirt in pictures !

how about wheel the towel cupboard out to the observation seat and hand them out there.

(There is smaller towels in the room also for showering).

You get tokens to change your towels twice

We had to go down and get sunbeds early cause alot were gone with people putting towels down and going off for half the day, I've seen towels sit there till 1pm then a family come and sit.

Our towels were very small and did not cover your entire body.

but this seemed to just change the bins, we had to ask for a towel change and toilet roll- not too much of a problem.

Dirty towel the first day and when we saw the cleaner to change it she was very abrupt and said who put it in the room???

Also the cleaners missed our room twice which was very frustrating when we needed clean towels to shower.

Had our towels moved off our sun beds from the rude staff.

They should take all towels off that haven’t been used for 2 hours.

We ended up keeping the towels outside on the airer.

House keeping change the bed 2 x week and replace towels

Brown towels are so smelly like they have been left to dry in the hotel kitchen.

- Policing the stated 'no towels on sunbeds before 8am' policy is also urgently needed.

but I’m not a big fan of the water - too cold for me!

There was a thicker blanket available - 3 for 4 people we called these the itchy blankets - they served a purpose (gave warmth when the A/C was too cold).

The pools were absolutely freezing cold not enjoyable at all.

We are only in there to sleep so size didn’t matter and the air con was appreciated.

We noticed our air-conditioning machine wasn't working after the 1st night so went to reception and they were very accommodating they said if they couldn't fix it I had a choice to move rooms, luckily they got it working so we didn't have to budge 😁 
We couldn't complain about the food as most people say its a bit repetitive

Cons are that the room felt a little damp and we seemed to have lots of mosquitoes coming through a vent (take repellent etc).

Wouldn't recommend I went with family and  grandkids never ever have I felt so uncomfortable and unwelcoming staff are rude ignorant and miserable,  food was poor Airton leaked all down the wooden walls where you put your clothes most my clothes where damp and smelly from the aircon.

although I myself had covers on as it was cold with aircon on all night, still kept feeling the bites happening and when getting up they were big bright red spots on our backs, sides and arms, a couple were big yellow blisters almost 2 inches in size.

Food great, entertainment rubbish /none extent, entertainment in the day and night limited and there is no real reps, just a bloke blowing his whistle and we thought was the caretaker.

Dread to think if the lifeguard blew his in an emergency whether he would get noticed?

Dont book unless you like to hear banging on doors from drunk irish and russians , or like cold fan belting on hit food ,like to sit on pews with no entertainment except drunken couples  , snack bar is three items toasty cold chicken burger or crisps 70,s hotel , and furnishings , ramps allover for no reason  , lift takes too long , beach bus turns up whenever it wants  .

Air con was brilliant and maybe even a little cold at night😆.

While I couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the hotel or the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff the downside of the holiday for me would be the lack of air conditioner in the rooms.

Had to rent extras like fan  safe, iron etc.

No glasses or toiletries provided, the fridge and tv you have to hire, no aircon so can not imagine how hot it gets in the summer.

Well for a start, despite advertising that they have air con we had to pay 50 euros for 2 fans after having no sleep the first night.

Nice hotel, pool area was great for kids, the bar offered a nice selection of food and drink options.

But if you read someone else’s review, they mentioned rats around the pool.

The pool area was nice, quite refreshing.
