Now to the good aspects:

- The design of the hotel is very cool, and the property has a vertical garden that runs through the entire central atrium complete with palm trees and other tropical vegetation.

The rooms were immaculate and modern, and the open central atrium throughout the high-rise building was unique for sure.

We took the glass lift up through the central atrium quickly passing through floors adorned by plant and trees.

The rooms all have doors facing an outside atrium which I haven't seen before.

The two "columns" of the hotel are around an open air foliage atrium, with open walkways.

The hotel is unique with two towers connected by an outdoor atrium with garden growing up the stairways.

Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel is a modern (“elegant and chic”) design hotel with interesting architectural features such as a open atrium vertical garden of palm trees and lush vegetation in the middle of the hotel.

From the palm trees on the facade of the hotel to the greenery in the open atrium inside the hotel, this hotel was a surprisingly wonderful find!

There's a staircase in the atrium that goes to all the floors.

Each room has a HUGE exterior door and the atrium is open to the elements

The interior atrium is filled with plants all the way up and down the hotel on every floor.

That theme is continued in the hotel atrium.

Strange building, as you walk out of your room in to the outside/atrium style of the hotel.

What a fantastic hotel which made our first stay in Barcelona a great experience.Everything, architect designed to the finest detail brings about an elegant ease of stay.Quality is in each aspect from bedroom lighting, to topclass shower facilities through to glass lifts which enable you to admire the fantastic palm laden atrium which rises to roof level.We had both dinner and breakfasts during our stay and the quality of food and cooking is second to none.

The atrium/lobby is a really nice place to relax after a day’s sightseeing.

It is set out around an open air atrium which towers above the reception area.

On the plus side, the building is undoubtedly spectacular in concept - the glass atrium works effectively and the 14th floor restaurant, where we had breakfast, is beautifully positioned with wonderful views of the city.

It is also famous for vertical garden Oasis and rooftop Pool with palm tress and lush vegetation.

Loved the architecture of the building, breakfast was amazing, the staff friendly and helpful.

This hotel boasts one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in, with modern amenities and elegant décor and one of a kind shaped windows.

It is such a special hotel and truly an piece of art.

but if you like modern clean-line design, this should fit your taste quite well.

As you noticed from the photo posted by me and other reviewers the architecture is quite different than most hotels.

Architecturally the hotel is impressive from the room windows to the overall design.

Facades of the hotel is decorated and designed with energy efficiency in mind with sunshades on the building resulting in minimal viewing outwards from the rooms.

The design of the hotel is quite nice with palms.

The rooms are nice, simple and usage friendly with a minimalistic touch!

The design of the hotel and especially  the windows in the rooms add to its unique atmosphere.

Once you get to your door, it would be best if you were a football player and you knew how to hit the door like a football tackling sled because you REALLY need to push that door with some strength!.

At least 2 of the doors did not latch as the guests entered or exited their room.

but oddly the shower and sink was in the main room (separated by a curtain from the bed area) with just the toilet closed off with a door like a cloakroom.

Meeting rooms smelled musty and smoky and the bathroom doors in the conference space were so dark and confusing.

Intentionally removed the “Do Not Disturbed “ sign so that our room will be freshened up when we come back in the evening after our day out 

However , upon our return , a “ Do Not Disturbed “ sign was hanged outside our door which was never there when we left .

Another lady comes by later and stands outside the door giving  me a bunch of towels and plastic bag of toiletries.

The room doors where hidden which made it hard to locate the room

The security guard of hotel present was inside the hotel doors and had no clue what happened so why did the hotel employed him in first place as a mannequin ? 2.

This is not a hotel that you want if you’d prefer to have the old city outside your door.

The walls and doors masking the shower are smoked or partly mirrored glass.

The doors to the bathroom are all glass so privacy could be an issue.

One odd thing, the lights are powered by placing a card in the card holder by the door,

The rooms had few technical issues (Shower door, AC..)

Room service came once when I was in the room and as soon as I opened the door she took the do not disturb sign and hung it outside for reasons I do not know.

Quite a task to open your room door as no handle and the tropical plant theme is emanated  on the corridor walls making it difficult to see where your room door is - also a very clever concept too!

Also i pointed our graffiti outside the fron door that was very vulgar and her response is “it’s not our property”.

Note: if you planning to take photo behind the elevator, make sure to hold the door because its emergency door therefore you cant open it from outside.

Very good restaurant with many different dishes.

At the Palmer restaurant on the 14th floor, we can enjoy the taste of Mediterranean cuisine with natural vegetation and panoramic views of the city.

The area is nice,  with a few great restaurants, and the commute into the city centre with the subway is cheap and quick.

There’s a great burger place across from the hotel.

The staff were friendly and the gentleman on reception really took time and care into explaining about the hotel and places to visit and best restaurants to eat at in the city.

We were very hungry and advised that the bar served food until 1 am.

We also tried out the restaurant in the hotel for dinner.

Also nice Indian restaurant recommended for tasty food.

Breakfast in the Palmer Restaurant on the 14th Level was enjoyable with a great variety of food from Iberian Ham, cold meats, hot dishes, fresh fruits, pastries, etc.

I would have also loved if the restaurant opened slightly earlier for dinner.

There is a mall across the street with several great restaurants upstairs.

Everything was fresh and delish and it kept you full until dinner.

Breakfast was provided daily with huge food item selection of excellent qualifies (they will probably have to do so considering there is very few dining selections around the hotel properties) which made my daily breakfast dining easily one of the highlights of this hotel.

We arrived early afternoon and decided to have lunch at the hotel restaurant.

While the food and the service of all the staff was great, the room was rather disappointing.

I had a great experience with everyone from the front desk, to the restaurant and housekeeping.

Has amenities with Kettle, room slippers, rope, safe - convenient location to metro and bus.

So, it is the most beloved place when there is a fair and even rooms including suites are fully booked..

The room was modern and clean, and while I would not rush to copy the bathroom design, we loved the large shower.

You assume the door has latched closed and your items are safe enclosed in your room.

Good clean place, room was spacious, well lit and comfortable.

Room was big, all white with a window shaped like a palm fond.

The room was definitely 5star worthy and reminds me a bit of the W brand.

I was upgraded to a higher floor premier room where space is ample and everything functioned nicely.

It is a very tall 28 floor building with luxurious rooms using high-end technology.

But I actually liked the open fresh air in the common areas while being able to retreat into my air conditioned room when it was too hot.

The vistas from most rooms are pretty cool, and you definitely get more m² for your money than in downtown.

The hotel room doors are not intuitive on how to open; my entire hotel room was black and I walked into the black glass wall in my room so many times at night, it’s also so hard to find the bathroom in your black room at night!

There is no wall in main entrance side, except two first floors.

The long wall in my room was all glass too.

The entrance to that sanctum was concealed behind a small knob on a mirrored wall.

It was 19 degrees and wall to wall sunshine.

The rooms are unusual being all white, with a curtain around the entire bed and glass partition walls.

The rooms are stark white with projection lights that throw plant designs shadows on the walls.

The window wall of our white room has a palm leaf cutout that can be covered with a palm leaf curtain &/or a blackout curtain.

Everything was white with very little decor and a large cement wall with a window that had a long thin window that I had to stand on my tiptoes, if I wanted to see out of.

It took me a while to figure out how to lower the blinds using a wall switch.

but the window had plaster design which looked like an explosion in the wall!

though pillows nice, room furniture just an uncomfortable built in banquette along walls.

NOTE: ALL windows in guest rooms are cut into the wall in the shape of palm treetops.

The bare stark white walls were not necessarily my aesthetic

but even more white except for the wall to ceiling HUGE mirror "wall" that separates the  bedroom / lounge area from the shower room.

Further, the hallways to the rooms are partly open with glass walls, giving you a feel of openness.

The bedrooms have unusual vegetation inspiration window and other glass, a two-toned chromatic effect and shower/bath area is separated from the living area with a transparent art glass wall.

To make matters worse, one "wall" of the shower is a mirror which is somewhat see through in both ways.

The rooms are all white (no picture), the shower is surrounded by glass (see through), the toilette is in a separate cubicle, of white walls and nothing else, no shelf to leave your hygienic products, etc  There is no real bathroom, the washbasin is next to the see-through shower,

We were unsure whether the heater wasn't working or if we were unable to adjust it to the correct temperature.

The hotel did not have the air conditioning on in the rooms.

The air con looked ancient and did not work, which meant the room was unbearably hot. Had we not arrived so late we would have requested a change,

The hotel should be shut down for that period or have heating installed.

I appreciatee opening the windows and that the AC was off.

This one hasn't, the carpet is bare and worn down to wood, and the vent grill in the bathroom was disgustingly dirty.

Once we had settled in the room which smelled a little musty we turned down the AC and then noticed it was very humid and wet feeling.

Unfortunately the hotel obviously suffers from what smells to me, to be a drain problem, so bad that the a/c exacerbates it, so it has to be off with then the window open, giving a lot of road noise and mosquitoes 🦟.

Our room has a TERRIBLE air conditioner and the room is very hot even in the cold setting.

The food was excellent, albeit slightly pricey for an "airport hotel," yet it maintained high quality, especially the varied breakfast offerings.

I think this is the closest hotel to airport, 10 minutes drive 
They provide free shuttle every.5 hour, pick up outside of baggage claim area 
It’s ok if you on layover and don’t want to pay taxi fares.

If you are traveling from or to Barcelona airport this hotel is perfect .

This is everything I need in an airport hotel — a very short and reliable shuttle ride from the terminal, a clean and comfortable room, a quiet space, a very good breakfast.

The Hotel Barcelona Aeropuerto is a decent airport hotel, roughly 10 mins by transfer.

Hotel is exactly what you expect from an airport hotel (room ok, location close to airport and clean)

The room is very spacious and seen other airport hotels, this one is the new generation, modern, full of light, practical, functional and all you need.

With Spain in lockdown and our Foreign Minister telling all Canadians to return home as quickly as possible while we were still able, finding the Tryp airport hotel at the last minute was reassuring, knowing we were one step closer to flying home.

This is a neat and modern airport hotel, right off the airport road, about 10 minutes to either terminal by hotel shuttle.

From the moment I contacted the hotel concerning the Airport shuttle bus before booking, their response was immediate and detailed as to where to find the shuttle.

couldnt fault this hotel at all from the friendly and professional staff who couldnt do enough to help you  to the immaculately clean hotel and rooms to the excellent buffet breakfast in the morning,highly recommended and would def visit again
plus dont forget the free shuttle bus between the airport and hotel 24 hours a day

We had close to a 24-hour layover in Barcelona and chose this hotel as it was in proximity to the airport.

Lovely staff and highly recommend to other travellers if u need somewhere close to the airport.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past years when we needed to be near the airport.

but this one is easy to use--the shuttle to/from the airport runs every 20-30 minutes without need to call the hotel.

The c/i was uncomplicated and part of the process is to ensure, if you need a shuttle to the airport, to book it.

We stayed 2 nights and took advantage of the free airport shuttle when we left.

Shuttle to the airport was on time ( 0230 AM ) , very professional driver.I highly recommend  this hotel.

Is also a bonus having the airport shuttle as the airport is a good 5/10 mins drive from the airport itself.

It was clean and inviting, Quiet and felt warm.

As stated previously, the staff were do nice and helpful and upbeat, that it made this a pleasang stay on an otherwise gloomy day.

The room and hotel in general was very clean and not worn in anyway.

Bathroom was good and bright, I had a really nice salad in the bar and had a really good sleep.

The hotel is really modern in design and definitely set up more for business travel and conferences,

What could be a large uninteresting square box is delightfully & tastefully decorated.

They couldn’t do enough for my daughter and I. Super clean and modern deco.

The vibe of this place is like an abandon shopping mall.

There was a very strong 'drains' smell from the bathroom that permeated the whole room.

The room was way too hot and could not open window due to sewer smell and noise.

but wouldn’t stay of my own accord, my wife would have walked out as soon as she stepped through the door with the drain smell!

Mattress on the floor, very old and run down, stinking leaking drainage, aircon that cannot be adjusted, everything bolted to the walls.

Had to switch as first one smelled of stale smoke.

We ended up sleeping with barely enough clothes and no covers, and were still soaked from sweat.

The bathroom was dirty and had what appeared to be a urine stain on the wall.

Cheap rooms both in decor and lighting; given a room reeking of tobacco despite being non-smoking; breakfast was horrible; cleaning came into the room at 7am despite having a do not disturb sign up.

but instead we just left the window open (which  helped with the smell!)

Rooms at the front, even when the windows are closed, are roaring with traffic from the autoroute--all night long.

You can open a window and then listen to the highway noise.

Window opens FULLY – no restraint on it (dangerous).

My room was right above the highway and the windows are not sound proof.

One server blew us away when we asked for a small box to take away some bread and fruit to feed the twins later in the morning and he responded, "Of course, Sir. This is your home."

I had to the chance to stay in a room with a camp nou view, breathtaking for football fans !

We adjusted the thermostat in the room to the lowest possible setting of 18 celsius (66 F),

Tonight our A/C went down; I reported it 4 times between 7.30pm and 10pm.

she informed by hotel team that the 1036 A/C is broken and could not be repair as far as they didn’t send any letter or telephone voice message  to my room …!!!!

the air-con in the rooms were locked at 19 degrees Celsius (wanted this lower) -

Room is currently 26.5 degrees- we have asked them to look at air con twice

Only things stopping 5* are 
- cost / busyness of breakfast
- cost of drinks (€6 for soft drink, coffee, small bottle of water) 
- air con auto switching off in room
- inability to turn on a bathroom light in night using either bathroom light setting without turning on main bedroom lights.

Lack of air conditioning issues in 2 of the 3 rooms not resolved for the entire stay.

The air conditioning was not working and I couldn't sleep the first night we arrived.

My room AC machine had an issue and at the time of reaching the set temperature it generated an awful noise that we thought was caused by restoration work in the hotel before discovering a bit too late that it was the AC machine.

Had a few issues with drain in the shower not clearing water and the faucet on the tub leaking.

When I moved into the second room it was a bit warmer than the previous room so I turned on the AC.

Rooms are super basic and the A/C does not work well.

Our only complaint with hotel is that the air conditioning was too warm as could not turn down to less than 19 degrees.
