A couple of other tips:

- Camp Nou and La Sagrada Familia are quite a walk away from the centre,

Wifi made it even nicer :) and of course the game at Camp Nou!

We used the tube to get the further afield places like Parc Guell, Camp Nou, Mount Tibidarbo etc.

Got taxis to Camp Nou and Fountains at Placa Espanol (must see!).

Reception very helpful, room very clean, nice swimming pool and terrace with amazing view of Barcelona.

This bed was fluffy, clean, soft and even the pillows were comfy.

The hotel is contemporary and very clean.

overall the hotel was clean and quiet, the only downside was the location, it was close the the cruise ferry

Price Quality Ratio not sufficient (namely 180 euro per night off season) : e. G. No tea/coffee in room, nor refrigerator.

The only recommendation I would have is a small fridge in the room to keep water cold.

Would say that it would have been nice to have a kettle and small Fridge in the room.

My suggestion would be to have a small refrigerator in each guest room.

Breakfast was not our cup of tea, a lot of sweet.

Only thing stopping this from being a perfect score was a lack of kettle and tea options in the room

Added to the cons, the room doesn’t have any mini refrigerator neither does it a brush for cleaning the toilet.

Also no kettle facilities in room and only shower gel provided was disappointing and I expected more.

I expected a small refrigerator and a kettle in the room.

but be mindful that they don’t include toiletries or drink making facilities & the room does not have a fridge.

The amenities of this hotel are basic and rooms don’t include things like ice buckets, a small fridge, or an iron and ironing board.

The only thing i would say it is missing is a mini fridge, it would have been good to put our bottled water in there

A few down points - no fridge or kettle in the room (though apparently you could hire a kettle from reception) and the rooftop bar was pretty crowded when we visited.

It is only a couple of blocks from La Rambla, just a ways up from the Columbus monument.

The location is fantastic- just a 15 minute bus ride to the nearest beach and a 5 minute walk to the metro station and La Rambla.

Firstly, other reviews say that the location feels a little unsafe,

Unfortunately, the hotel seemed to be the location of the homeless so lots of daily Police presence.

And you need a key to access the front door/reception area of the hotel, so it stops any non-hotel guests from just wandering in.

The location is awful and feels unsafe with children.

A homeless man was camped out directly in front.

The only thing that got me concerned was the location of the hotel because of the neighbourhood it was kind of strange and dangerous until 20:00 it is fine,

It’s walking distance to La Rambla, the Gothic quarter and various metro stations (Paral-lel, Drassanes), so great for sightseeing, 

Negatives:
The street where the hotel is located is quite rough, you can easily see a bunch of homeless people not too far from the hotel entrance, and I didn’t feel safe walking back to the hotel after 8pm.

Very bad location, drug addicts next to hotel, street from center to hotel is shady, dark and you may feel insecure.

We had no trouble at all with the area, there were a few homeless people sleeping near the hotel at night

For those making comments about the area being dodgy or unsafe we just don’t get that at all.

Seemed to be an area of vulnerability as there were some homeless around,

The area directly around the hotel can be a little intimidating in the evenings - it is a dodgy part of town.

however some what basic & a watch out for the neighbourhood.

There are homeless people in the area, as there are in other areas of Barcelona

The major issue with this hotel is the neighbourhood.

The floor makes a lot of noise so the neighbours downstairs can hear everything.

Great patio for breakfast and rooftop pool.

We enjoyed the roof top pool which had fabulous views of the city.

A little pool on the rooftop as a bonus for the kids.

The second reason to make sure you stay at this hotel is the rooftop pool and bar - the view of Barcelona from the 11th floor is MAGNIFICENT!

They have an infinity pool at the rooftop which shows a great view over the city.

Close to the beach (10 min walk) and very close (1 minute walk) to the neighborhood's main rambla with many restaurants and cafes!

It's in easy walking distance on the beach, shops and the metro.

This hotel is also near to the Ramala de Poblenou and closest to the beach.

It’s also very close to the beach as on our first afternoon we walked down to the beach and along the promenade all the way to the W hotel and back.

The hotel is well located close to the beaches and the buses that take you to the city centre.

Great price for being so close to the beach (about 3 blocks away).

Apart from that bardelona is a beutiful city defo take the bus tour.camp nou much better than last time i was there (u2 concert ) again take plenty of money .

The fantastic metro service allowed us to visit all the sites in Barcelona, such as the famous markets, cathedral and New camp Nou!

but very nice , load of local tapas bars with good food, very quiet at nights , and the purpose of the trip was to go to the camp nou which made this trip perfect

The good points are the hotel is really clean, the beds are very comfortable.

Lovely tree-lined areas surroundings for relaxing and watching the world go by! Travelodge Poblenou is very clean (despite reviews I read from recent stayers!!)

On the other hand the hotel was spotless, the manager was very very helpful and the hotel was close to some lovely cafes etc.

It took 10 days and several dozen e-mails for them to admit that they had overcharged me by more than 400 euros.

The plastic of the card was of very poor quality, every day I had to go down to configure the room key.

Everything terrible, I been here for 10 nights and they stole me 100€ for my credit bank when I left , without telling me, when I called the hotel they told me it’s becouse smooking in the room when I don’t even smooke.

However, it is quite strange that they charge for wifi as an extra cost (unless you book it directly on their website).

This was not in the confirmation and only on the website you can find something in small prints saying taht you will be charged an amount

There is free WiFi, which is pretty bad and there is paid WiFi, which is said free on the holder of your key card,
but you get it only, if booking on their website.

Negative: They charge customers for WiFi while it is free all over the world even in small shops.

Second time we receive message with problem credit card.

I emailed Travelodge to ask about the pet charges.

The people working in here are not welcoming, they charge daily for wifi when is free in most of the hotels around the world you only have free wifi in the  lobby, my bathroom had a disabled chair full of fungus,  was disgusting.

Downside:
Wifi is horrible, the access card demagnitsed super fast.

I have a lot of problems in my check-in, the hotel doesn't accept payment with QRcode or MBway, just cash or credit card and your machine card is very old not work well.

No Go: They did immediately block more than 100€ on my credit card

Additional wifi charge per day like it was in 1990, and the signal is weak.

No storage and not enough sockets or charging points.

Paid in advance and every thing you purchase is billed immediatly so no extras on leaving.

Usually, they charge the room and you pay when you check-out.

Everyday they printed out maps so that our sightseeing went smoothly.Thoroughly recommended.We got the Hola Barcelona travel card for 5 days for unlimited travel including the Renfe Train to and from the airport .

but that’s it, one plug near the desk and one plug at one side of the bed, so if you like your phone charging at the side of you, one of you is going to need a very long cable!

Rooms are fairly basic no kettle or hair dryer needed to put a deposit down which I found strange.

On arrival into the room i see there was no kettle, tea or coffee making facility as pictured and offered on booking.

The travel lodge itself is very basic, no kettle or mini fridge in the room, no hair dryer and no safe and the showers are extremely small and the walls are paper thin.

We had to ask for a kettle and coffee/tea and no soaps etc are provided.

Unfortunately, there is no fridge and no balcony.

Not enough facilities like kettle, coffee, cupboard for clothes at rooms.

No proper mugs as been provided with paper cups n had to wash them for next use.

No fridge, no wardrobe, no bedside table no drawer, no coffee/tea maker.

but we had some problem without minibar in the Room.

requested a kettle at the time of booking only got one the next day only because I asked for it on arrival for my breakfast porridge,  wasn’t paying €10 for breakfast.

Certain amenities were also missing, including a kettle in the room (until we asked) and, curiously, no toilet brush! !

Shower not good, no closet, no blankets, no dryer, no wifi, no fridge, no english audio on the TV.

It’s fair walk to city centre and in summer months there is no shade if you walk along the beach front

Booked this for a 1 night stay, not too far from the beach about a 5-10min walk.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful part of Barcelona, and just a 5 minute walk to the beach, and a hundred yards from a lovely street full of fantastic bars and restaurants.

Good location, proper access to public transport and can walk to the beach.

Walking to the beach is about 5 minutes and with the subway you’re able to be anywhere so fast!

Great location if your visiting Barcelona ..10 minute stroll to the beautiful beach and a five minute walk to the metro and 5 stops down the line and your in the centre of the city..

Hotel is clean, quiet and near the Boatel beach and about 2km from the center (half an hour walk via seashore).

I had an amazing stay at the Travelodge Barcelona Poblenou, The hotel is situated in an ideal location, a 5 minute walk to both the beach and the shopping districts surrounded by amazing places to eat.

It is only ten minutes walk from the beach, and if you are feeling like a long nice walk, you can follow the beach promenade all the way along to the Christopher Columbus Monument  at the end of the Carrer La Rambla and dive into the old city from there.

Nicely situated, by metro and 15 min walk from beach.

Then five stops and you are in the heart of the City.Ten minute walk to the beach.

Trying to make the reservation while on the ship with limited and undependable wifi, I made an error in the dates requested.

We actually had to sit in the lobby to answer emails because the Wi-Fi which we paid extra for didn’t work.

The more ironic thing is that you had to pay 4eu by day if you wanted wi-fi.
