 - The Magic Fountain is close and so is Plaza España which seemed to be a busy and well connected area. The area directly around the hotel had a local feel and we ate in a neighbourhood tapas bar (Taps).
 - The hotel is well situated for sightseeing, very close to the Magic Fountain and the old Bull Ring, where there are lots of great restaurants, and easy access to the hop on-hop off buses.
 - The Magic Fountain is very near, and worth going to when the light/music show is on.
 - Next to the convention center and close to the Magic Fountain, this hotel is perfect for the convention goer. We particularly liked its proximity to the fabulous MNAC (Museum National of Art de Catalonia)
 - We were within minutes walking distance from the Magic Fountain, and about a mile from Las Rambles.

 - Pretty poor that given how much we paid to be there, and a bit embarrasing to see Brits abroad acting boorishly (again).
 - Speaking of which, Platinum elite recognition is very poor.

 - The only problem was on the last morning there was a lack of hot water.
 - Let the shower run in the morning for AT LEAST five minutes, probably longer, to get properly hot water,
 - Hot water is a problem, and that just wasn’t my experience alone, even allowing for the curious plumbing fittings.
 - We had to run water for a good five Minutes-
 - The only issues we had was that it took several minutes for the hot water to run , reception staff told us that it was recent issue that was being fixed and the failure to access the BBC news channel on the TV .

 - There is a LOT of noise from the metro and the road, as well as from the hall and elevator.
 - The only down side was my room was near the road so I could hear the traffic at night,
 - Bit of noise die to traffic,
 - The street is a little bit noisy if you are not used to,
 - Our room was street facing and you could definitely hear the noise from the outside

 - The pillows are not good and the light is difficult to manage.
 - But the downside is on the details, knobs had lime, corrosion, the toilet didn't have a good lighting.
 - Speaking of lights.
 - Only little problem was that the lighting was unusual and the controls were difficult to work
 - but the consoles were not identical and even reading the lighting instruction card had us bemused.

 - The hotel is at the Plaza Espanja and there is metro station almost next to the hotel.
 - Located in the center near Plaza Espanya, metro really close.
 - Good location, just a few metro stops from Las Rambla and close to the Plaza D’Spain metro station.
 - Prime location at Plaza Espanya, clean rooms, very reasonably priced & excellent value With quality better than most 3 star hotels ^ would be perfect were it not for the impossible to work out light controls & shower as mentioned by several previously.
 - The hotel is situated 300m from Plaza Espanya.

 - The pillows were like lumpy marshmallows which didn't help me sleep.
 - I don't know many people who, while their traveling partner is sleeping, want to take a shower in full view.
 - Bad points: The rooms closest to the street are subject to intense street noise, it is hard to sleep.
 - However, it had an awful noise coming from the ceiling (the above flor is where the swimming poo seats) and it was laud enough to not be able to sleep at night.

 - On a business trip to Barcelona I stayed for a few nights in this boutique hotel at the lovely Plaça Reial next to La Rambla.
 - This boutique hotel was in an amazing location overlooking the square and had a real family-run feeling to it which made us feel welcome and at home there.

 - My biggest problem about DO Placa Reial was the noise at night- there were homless people gathering just in front of the hotel on Saturday night and, I guess, celebrating, so it was really noisy.
 - But have no fear, the windows are very soundproof and (except for the English football fans that chanted late into the night one night) you don't hear the sounds from outside.
 - but bring earplugs because Spain likes to party literally until the sun comes up.
 - Our only complaint was that it was a bit noisy because the Plaça Reial is very popular at night.
 - This made it a little noisy over New Year’s Eve

 - The one negative I will say is that Barcelona has a large homeless population and you will see some unfortunate folks sleeping on the streets around the Ramblas.
 - but tough for sleeping soundly!

 - I could hear noises from the pipes at night, which meant i didnt get much sleep.

 - Only downside was the non/stop party happening on that Saturday night in the plaza that lasted all night until 6:30 in the morning.
 - While you have the benefit of being next to so much, that means all those people are drinking and being loud into the early morning -- and you can hear it through the room.
