The breakfast in the morning is very very good.

Breakfast was excellent and staff friendly.

The breakfast was included and there was a great variety to choose from.

The service and variety of food at breakfast was amazing and they were able to cater very well for two of our family with coeliac disease (gluten- free).

We got breakfast there each day which worked out well.

Good view and a decent pool, good rooftop bar, excellent breakfast and very comfortable rooms.

Good breakfast, the pool is great for kids and adults to escape the heat.

On the positives, it's the BEST hotel breakfast ever - so much range and options.

Breakfast is an absolutely tragic experience.

I could have some kinds of Hamons and delicious fruits like strawberries and blackberries, blueberries with yogurt.

Breakfast was above average with a great spread of hot and cold offerings.

the breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice.

for the pros:
the hotel was near to a metro station Gloris and near to a bus stop
there is a shopping mall just few munities walk with many different brands and many restaurants
the breakfast buffet was very good

maybe will consider it again for short stay trip

And my husband really like the breakfast have a lots to offer and choose.

The breakfast is excellent, quality products, good coffee, pancake stations for kids is an excellent idea.

Breakfast remains a great option with a wide variety of choice catering for all tastes.

The breakfast was fine, seems like quantity over quality.

Your room key was needed to access the room floors in the lift and it could be temperamental which was annoying as I had to get the room key replaced a couple of times.

It meant you often got stuck in the elevator, stairs or even the hallway trying to gain entry to your room.

but not for kids

But please please please get the card readers in the lift fixed!

as a diamond accor member we were put in the noisiest room of all (stay away from the elevators, which by the way are a complete mess).

WIth all that being said, make sure you don't get a room next to a lift.

Moreover, my room was near the elevators, so very noisy.

Has 3 lifts , one was broken on our last day ,

Only thing was we had a room next to a lift shift which did disturb us on the first night, we asked reception the following morning of we could change to a different room which was no hassle at all and done straight away.

The third experience was in the pool on the rooftop on 8 September no lifeguard was available or staff to give the towel or watch the pool safely to complete the worst experience when I try to go back to my room my key-card stop to working on the lift because automatically close my stay

but this hotel has a funny commercial policy, they charge you the room as if they were afraid that the customer who left a credit card imprint leaves at the end of the stay like a thief, and they do not sell a box of water greater than 50cl, in order to maximize the margin, there is an interminable wait to take one of the 3 elevators.

Elevators in this hotel are not easy to use.

but their insistence on formal dining and seating of patrons slowed things down massively, especially for me, as I was just looking for a yogurt and pastry),  stunningly slow elevators (they were never all working.  )

The lifts were an absolute nightmare, if they even came when you called for one.

Negatives: Elevators were terrible, cards didn’t work half the time nor did the left elevator.

For example: waits at reception are enormously long, there are insufficient elevators for the numbers of guests thus you must wait forever to leave the building, the rooms have a feeling of only mild cleanliness.

This was a good option for us because we were planning on visiting Parc Guell, so we dropped off our luggage and returned a few hours later.

The location also provides easy access to Parc Guell by taxi; Sagrada Familia is within walking distance and we rode a quick metro to Las Ramblas.

We accidentally booked twice for the Parc Guell and the receptionist phoned the park directly to help us organise a refund.

but also with tram and metro lines very near; direct bus line to Parc Guell, walking distance to Sagrada familia.

Parc guell is very worth the visit to see Antonio Gaudi's fascinating architecture.

The shower smelled horrible, or at best due to pipe odor or fungus?

Filthy rooms , dirty carpet , air condition not working properly , terrible house cleaning .

This hotel is tired and feels dirty , the carpets in both hallways & rooms are dirty with cigarette burns in them making me feel like we always had to wear something on your feet.

It smelt very dusty, which made the entire room uncomfortable.

but the bathroom door opened directly onto the bed which is not necessarily very discreet (suffice to say the smell of someone using the loo is not going to help the other person relax).

Our room at water heat problems in the sense that the showers would nearly burn you and then would freeze you within 5 seconds without adjusting the temperature.

There was also a very bad smell in the bathroom (sewers).

For example, the joint around the shower was degraded to the point that it was cracked and moldy.

Then there is a bad smell in the hallway.

IN addition to that the drain cover consistently came off.

Horrible smell in the street and same in the room , in the bathroom .

The breakfast is terrible particularly that coffee machine is disgusting , plate and is not clean as you can spot the dirty.The door for the restaurant sometime is open , sometimes is not and it’s makes customer inconvenient.

but by day 3 smelt awful and didn’t get replaced.

however room smelt of mould as the carpet was damp and wet in areas as air conditioning leaks onto carpet.

Unfortunately the pool water is really disgusting, our young son didn’t want to put his head in the water-do so at your own risk.

Only really downturn: the public toilet at the roof top area - totally disgusting, needs to be cleaned much more frequently and trash bin emptied more often.

Even I, who am not too picky could smell that everything was not ok. We complained and asked for a new room.

Lobby suffered a severe odor across the entire week, not a very pleasant walk-in experience as well. Additionally, after upgrading our rooms to an "Executive" level, which appeared to be very basic in terms of facilities, size and overall design: room was fairly small, no special amenities, a tiny TV (what kind of hotels do that these days?)

Loved the architecture of the building, breakfast was amazing, the staff friendly and helpful.

I will say that the staff was great and the breakfast was very good.

We had intended to have a casual morning with breakfast.

In contrast, the breakfast was good and the beds werefine also.

Breakfast in the Palmer Restaurant on the 14th Level was enjoyable with a great variety of food from Iberian Ham, cold meats, hot dishes, fresh fruits, pastries, etc.

but we did have a delicious vegetarian paella in a restaurant nearby!

I spoke with hotel reception and they apologized and offered to buy me breakfast.

I’d suggest better takeaway items at the lobby coffee bar for breakfast and suggest it opens earlier.

Breakfast is good and the rooftop bar and pool a great experience.

Consistently clean, quiet, great breakfast and appreciated upgrades.

The breakfast had everything you could imagine and more.

Breakfast was provided daily with huge food item selection of excellent qualifies (they will probably have to do so considering there is very few dining selections around the hotel properties) which made my daily breakfast dining easily one of the highlights of this hotel.

Lunch in Palmer restaurant was delicious, we didn’t do breakfast.

and is very modern with great staff , a roof top bar and incredible breakfasts.

We have tried lunch and breakfast in house and the F&B team was also very good.

Once you get to your door, it would be best if you were a football player and you knew how to hit the door like a football tackling sled because you REALLY need to push that door with some strength!.

At least 2 of the doors did not latch as the guests entered or exited their room.

but oddly the shower and sink was in the main room (separated by a curtain from the bed area) with just the toilet closed off with a door like a cloakroom.

Meeting rooms smelled musty and smoky and the bathroom doors in the conference space were so dark and confusing.

Intentionally removed the “Do Not Disturbed “ sign so that our room will be freshened up when we come back in the evening after our day out 

However , upon our return , a “ Do Not Disturbed “ sign was hanged outside our door which was never there when we left .

Another lady comes by later and stands outside the door giving  me a bunch of towels and plastic bag of toiletries.

The room doors where hidden which made it hard to locate the room

The security guard of hotel present was inside the hotel doors and had no clue what happened so why did the hotel employed him in first place as a mannequin ? 2.

This is not a hotel that you want if you’d prefer to have the old city outside your door.

The walls and doors masking the shower are smoked or partly mirrored glass.

The doors to the bathroom are all glass so privacy could be an issue.

One odd thing, the lights are powered by placing a card in the card holder by the door,

The rooms had few technical issues (Shower door, AC..)

Room service came once when I was in the room and as soon as I opened the door she took the do not disturb sign and hung it outside for reasons I do not know.

Quite a task to open your room door as no handle and the tropical plant theme is emanated  on the corridor walls making it difficult to see where your room door is - also a very clever concept too!

Also i pointed our graffiti outside the fron door that was very vulgar and her response is “it’s not our property”.

Note: if you planning to take photo behind the elevator, make sure to hold the door because its emergency door therefore you cant open it from outside.

Staff were very helpful, even booking tickets for La Pedrera, the Sagrada and Parc Guell online for us so we did not need to queue for entry to any of these.

The concierge will book tickets for you  for the major attractions, I recommend using this facility as we found that no tickets were being sold at the Picasso Museum and Parc Guell until four hours after our arrival onsite.

Very easy to access Camp Nou, Montserrat, Plaza Espanya, Parc Guell, Sagrada Familia, the cruise port, etc.

Suggest you per book Parc Guell and Sagrda Familia as we did.

La Rambla/ Gothic area, Parc Guell, the Magic Fountains and museum and so much more.

The hotel room doors are not intuitive on how to open; my entire hotel room was black and I walked into the black glass wall in my room so many times at night, it’s also so hard to find the bathroom in your black room at night!

There is no wall in main entrance side, except two first floors.

The long wall in my room was all glass too.

The entrance to that sanctum was concealed behind a small knob on a mirrored wall.

It was 19 degrees and wall to wall sunshine.

The rooms are unusual being all white, with a curtain around the entire bed and glass partition walls.

The rooms are stark white with projection lights that throw plant designs shadows on the walls.

The window wall of our white room has a palm leaf cutout that can be covered with a palm leaf curtain &/or a blackout curtain.

Everything was white with very little decor and a large cement wall with a window that had a long thin window that I had to stand on my tiptoes, if I wanted to see out of.

It took me a while to figure out how to lower the blinds using a wall switch.

but the window had plaster design which looked like an explosion in the wall!

though pillows nice, room furniture just an uncomfortable built in banquette along walls.

NOTE: ALL windows in guest rooms are cut into the wall in the shape of palm treetops.

The bare stark white walls were not necessarily my aesthetic

but even more white except for the wall to ceiling HUGE mirror "wall" that separates the  bedroom / lounge area from the shower room.

Further, the hallways to the rooms are partly open with glass walls, giving you a feel of openness.

The bedrooms have unusual vegetation inspiration window and other glass, a two-toned chromatic effect and shower/bath area is separated from the living area with a transparent art glass wall.

To make matters worse, one "wall" of the shower is a mirror which is somewhat see through in both ways.

The rooms are all white (no picture), the shower is surrounded by glass (see through), the toilette is in a separate cubicle, of white walls and nothing else, no shelf to leave your hygienic products, etc  There is no real bathroom, the washbasin is next to the see-through shower,

The breakfast was very nice served in a beautiful room and a good choice.

Friendly and efficient check in, good rooms, great bathrooms, good WiFi, AC perfect, great breakfast, roof top bar and a fabulous location in Barcelona.

The breakfast was terrific and excellently staffed.

Breakfast buffet was outstanding with variety of food and drinks.

Especially the breakfast was exquisite and the staff was super nice.

Everything about the property is amazing from the location to the staff to the rooms to the breakfast and rooftop bar/restaurant.

Even very little things measured to perfection, super friendly staff, amazing location, delicious food, can't ask for more

The breakfast, the service , the bar on the roof were just amazing.

Even if you ask for breakfast to go or picnic breakfast you will not get it.

The morning breakfast at Solc was very well prepared and delicious.

Dinner at SOLC was delicious and delightful.

We booked through AX, and breakfast was included with our booking.

The Solc Restaurant serves the best breakfast in Barcelona.

From service in the lounge, service at breakfast and the service of my room.

Breakfast also great and well  run. Not to mention the amazing location right in the "thick of things."

The Barcelona City Tour bus stop was steps in either direction of the hotel which allows you to easily see the entire city including, Parc Guell and La Sagrada Familia.

You held our passports for 6 hours and did not call us?

Didn't even get a followup call or an apology

Taking a shower and using a toilet in the dark with a phone flashlight was not fun during our stay.

The table edges were chipped, 2 lights burned out in the bathroom, a large chip missing in the bath tile, in need of woodwork paint, a door not closing on the closet, a curtain hook ripped and missing, and a phone with a message light that stayed on all three days of the stay.

Note it is easier to call cabs than use Uber app, so have Euro on hand in 1,2, and 5 dollar denominations so you can pay and tip a little.

I can imagine they could hear me talking on calls.

Breakfast was included with our stay- they accidentally charged us - it took 5 international phone calls to rectify.

We’d expect a management call at least .

There really isn't a pool there, even if they call it one, as it's just a small square crowded by all the people having drinks.

And provide assistance to customers at any time through the phone or reception.

The air conditioning was not cooling the room at this point I didn’t want to call anybody didn’t get maintenance to check the AC I had just given up.

No question goes unanswered and no request seems impossible.

Many people also could not check in until after 3pm

My advice— call ahead if you are getting in before 3pm, and definitely stay at the Mandarin Oriental.

Be sure to have an International phone plan because you will need your phone for everything.

after all the time spent calling to amex and dealing with the " manager" who was obviously not the manager, at least you can expecto to get an apology or something maybe insignificant to the hotel to fake they care which they did not of course.

I had specifically requested a baby crib at reservation and they confirmed it on the phone and of course it wasn’t set up and I had to nag about it and follow up.

We talked with someone via phone and she never called us back.

I wait 5 days to post incase I received a call

it took them hoalf a day and cost me USD150 for international roaming before they had put down the unique serial number of my iphone and then they switched it on somehow>

Drinks at bar are very pricey (19 euros for a pina colada).

A 3x3 size lasagna costing about $20 is way overpriced in the first place.

Paid $600 a night through Silverseas and unloaded the bus filled with 50 pieces of luggage with no assistance from hotel staff at 65 years old with 75 year old woman!

I felt we did not get the deluxe room we paid for and should of experienced.

For what the company paid for me to stay I was borderline annoyed.

When we brought this misunderstanding to the manager and explained that we would never have given as many items had it been per unit rather than per category of item, he simply remarked "This is a 5 star hotel and these are the prices".

The price you have to pay and what you get is just too much.

though I have to say that if it were not included in our rate, EUR39 would be rather steep for the kind of spread offered.

Overall for the price, a disappointing stay

Try to avoid airport transfer as overpriced.

but then we changed rooms and the second night was cold, a draft was coming from the windows which was a disappointment with the amount you are paying each night, also the minibar wasn’t included which again what you are paying a night we expected it to be free of charge even if it was water or crisps and then for the more expensive things then a price list starts then that would have made more sense.

I was denied concierge service to hold my luggage, inspite of offering to pay for the same.

We chose the Majestic over the better known high end hotels due to the size of the room for the price.

It’s a very expensive hotel in good location.

Rooms were clean, and breakfast was great.

Taxis are plentiful and if more than 2 people , usually cheaper than by bus.

The hotel had a fantastic nice staff, always someone at the reception and they were all helpful, we had access to a delicious breakfast at a reasonable extra cost, a nice large room and a perfect location.

Second time we’ve stayed here, and will do it again.

The breakfast was typical of many midpriced European hotels.

The buffet breakfast surpassed anything I could have expected and was such a benefit to start the day.

Each morning we started the day with the hotel buffet.

Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice.

Superior staff, spotless, wonderful location and nice breakfast.

Service was also excellent in the breakfast room and everything looked appetizing and tasted delicious.

We had a good breakfast, it was nicely laid out and a good selection of everything one would need.

We had breakfast as part of our stay, the breakfast room was very clean and inviting, good selection of hot and cold dishes, good choice of drinks so a good start to the day.

We visited the cathedral ,parc guell,the gothic quarter and took a cable car ride up the mountain ,barcelona has so much to see and do

The tube station Drassanes is 100 meters, and from there you can travel straight to Parc Guell.

Though our room was tiny and not really conducive to doing anything

Some of the rooms are on the small side, some have a wall instead of a view,

The room was very small and noisy at night which made it hard to sleep.

Our room had one tiny window so would get very stuff and was of course always dark.
